As I understand it, Leviathan was going to be the first post- patch primal, but due to the Tsunami in Japan, they felt it would be in poor taste, so they shifted it to Good king Moggle Mog instead.
Thankfully, the Good King Moogle Mog, may his pom forever shine, we learn that it doesn't have to be a god to be a primal... After all the Good King is just a fairy tale for little poms.
@@CaffeinatedDad I'm pretty sure this is actually a misunderstanding of the order of events. The tsunami that struck Japan hit before 2.0 released. Leviathan was planned to be 1.0 content, but was scrapped for the Moogle King for the reasons stated by the comments. @danfernow7120 this is what happened. Titan was even going to be in 1.0 but because the tsunami was prefaced by an earthquake, he never made it out of 1.0 and his debut was in 2.0. Interesting stuff.
About Yugiri: The Au'ra were not a race when ARR released, and they were developed to be in Heavensward. At the time they introduced her, they had not finished the model, so she was dressed up like that while they only had some parts of the model ready. Related to this, the post-ARR patches around this time (forget the exact patch) were when the Rogue/Ninja classes were introduced, which was the last non-limited job to start at Level 1, because Yugiri is a ninja.
If you recall as far back as your first fight against Ifrit, primals have the power to enthrall anyone not protected by the echo. The starter quests of Thanalan give and early introduction to not just Nanamo, but also figures like Fudulupa, and Papashan, and Momodi, plus it mentions of Lolorito as a villainous figure.
