Fun Fact: Despite being right on the equator, Mount Kenya(In Kenya of course) actually contains some glaciers near it's summit.
So do with Cartenz Pyramid in Indonesia
The rare African glacier 👍
Brazil is the only country in the world whose territory spans from the equator line to one of the tropics (in this case, Tropic of Capricorn).
gotta love how Peru is so close to being equatorial but it's not...
I would pin that if I could 😊
If you tell Peruvians they are not, they would look at you funny.
In my Geography class I was taught that the Equatorial Countries are those within the parallels 10 N and S, because that’s the line where the effects of regular 4 seasons is null and where the trade winds converge to create the Intertropical Convergence Zone.
fun fact: equatorial guinea is actually on both sides of the equator, but it never touches it. the mainland and bioko island are north of the equator whilst anabon island is to the south of the equator below sao tome and principe.
but Maldives and. Kiribati don't actually have any land on the equator
Ecuador translates to “equator”, so its name is even more literal than Equatorial Guinea (though equatorial can also mean “in the region of the equator”).
Interesting take. I did find myself wishing for equator lines on the various maps you were showing.
Fun fact the northernmost tip of Peru is less than 3 km / 2 mi away from the equator
You got some flags in 6:54 mixed with Kiribati 🇰🇮
flag of the Congo: 🇨🇬
flag of São Tomé and Príncipe: 🇸🇹
lol yeah
Kiribati used to be called the Gilbert Islands. (Notice the similar sound.)

Success seems to be connected with action. Successful people keep moving. They make Mistake but they don’t quit... As the economic crisis keep rising, we literally need to have different streams of income. The crypto market has plenty opportunities to earn a decent Payouts with the right skills and proper Understanding of how the market works.
Yeah you're absolutely right..... Lots of people are still making massive profits from the stock and crypto market, all you really need is some relevant information and some professional advice. It is totally inappropriate for investors to stand by as they take dips during significant market diclinism
@@jamesfrederickarthur2398 A good investment requires experience and knowledge to carry out a successful operation. Professionally, it is recommended to trade with experienced brokers, who can help you increase your profits while helping you learn the trade
Well I invest with a top trader Investor Ashton Edwards you might have heard of him.. I can correctly say he's the best top trader in the world, an investment advisor as his diversification skills are great, I say this because i see that in his results as my portfolio grows by averages of 25% to 35% on a weekly basis, unlike i can say for my IRA which has just been trudging along. my portfolio just mirrors what he place and not just on some particular industries of my choosing. He gave me that financial freedom I needed
@@jamesfrederickarthur2398 Honestly I really need help with learning how to trade. Seeing my portfolio low makes me very sad. Please do you mind sharing any means of reaching out to him easily?
@@filippeabreu4984 Just type Investor Ashton Edwards, look his name up on the internet. You will find everything you need to know about him, you could leave him a message on his personal webpage
I love the equator, Id love to travel to all 13 countries, so far I have been to Colombia and Indonesia if Bali counts.
Fun fact about Indonesia: there is a one particular city and its called "Bogor" that is almost always raining everyday, so that's why people here calling it the "Kota Hujan" = "Rain city" too 😅
hmmm . . .transequatorial or equiequatorial or even diaequatorial or possibly quasiequatorial-- I can't make up my mind which is best. Thank you for this.
You should do this for the prime meridional countries too
Just to give an idea of just how large Brazil is: it's northernmost point is actually closer to Canada than it's southernmost point
It always makes me double take that Mexico City is about the same distance as DC is from where I am
Yea just looked it up. It's within 200 miles and I'm not even in OKC where I'm from🤣
How about the countries that come closest to the north pole? We can't count the south pole as those slices of Antarctica are merely managed by various countries, not actually part of them. Still, people might be surprised to learn that the winner of that contest is Denmark.
How about countries that are in both the eastern and western hemispheres, by land area? Russia and the USA would take the top two spots, while Great Britain would be comfortably in the middle, actually.
First guess: Indonesia. Fourth most populated country on earth and right on the equator.
1:47: What? São Tome? The name of the Island is São Tomé, which is Portuguese for Saint Thomas and not the Holy Book.
Congo!!!! Whhoooooo! 🇨🇩🇨🇩🇨🇩

U mean "Brazil only the extreme north of the country is at the height of the equator, the Amazon rainforest region, where the smallest population in Brazil is located, a vast territory very sparsely populated, but other regions are on the tropical line and the regions further south range from the Subtropical to the Temperate and in this area the vast majority of Brazilians reside, so Brazil passes through several climatic zones in the Southern Hemisphere and also in the Northern Hemisphere, referring to Brazil as an equatorial country is completely false, only a part of the extreme North of the country is in this region"?
Of course Indonesia ;)
I think that Columbia is actually farther north than Somalia even if you exclude its islands
*Colombia
The DR Congo ❤💙💛 🇨🇩
The equator isn't just an imaginary line. It is the circumference of Earth, lying in a plane perpendicular to the ration axis.
DR Congo's population is 99 million, placing 16th, which is a spot behind my country Vietnam, at around 103 million people
Actually it’s reather 112M according to CIA
Fun fact:Equatorial Guinea isn’t on the equator but the name has equatorial

The geographical definition of equatorial is within 10 degrees of the equator.

Somalia just crosses the equator into the Southern Hemisphere by about 100 miles.
In the African list Lesotho is less populated than Gabon but in the world list it is more !!!

incidentally, "Ecuador" mans "equator" in Spanish! lol
1:25: All four hemispheres? There are only two hemispheres. And since “hemi” is Greek for “half”, four hemispheres would make two globes in total.
Ya but you can split in two vertically and horizontally. North/south hemispheres, east/west hemispheres
@@maxarsenault7844 But that is completely arbitrary, depending on which great circle you make the cut. North and South are absolute directions, East and West are relative directions.
@@Nikioko Yes, however, by convention the east and west hemispheres are split be a "circle" following the prime meridian and 180th meridian.
@@maxarsenault7844 It is not a convention. And what prime meridian? The one through Greenwich? The one through Paris? As I said, unlike the equator, it is an arbitrary line.
@@Nikioko the one in Paris what century are you living in? No one has been using that one in years. Everyone agrees the prime meridian, goes through London. Everyone uses Greenwich time to set their clocks. To know how far ahead behind or equal to they are with it. Arbitrary well we have to pick something.
I think that 6th should be pronounced sixth and not sicth.
where is kenya tho? it has a population of 53 million
Its not an imaginary line, its where the magnetic fields reverse. Duh

IT'S NEAR THE EQUATOR DUM-DUM!
Equatorial Guinea isnt even on the equator 💀
Totally wrong calculation!
the 3 states that make the south region of Brazil are completely below the tropic of capricorn, outside of the tropical region of the planet
