  • It's been a long time since the Roper's been on film. It's stuck with me longer than any other tractor. Many different attachments and sets of tires have been mounted to it, and it remains a tractor that I will likely never get rid of. Ever since I got the 322, it's been difficult to consider using the Sears tractors for winter snow clearing duties. They're old, they don't start the easiest, and they're more laborious to operate. That being considered, I always have had a fantasy of mounting my 42" front and rear blades on the Roper and using it for fun. Finally I was able to set a day aside and make it happen. Sure it took much longer and was not able to do as effective of a job as the Deeres do, but it was a heck of a lot of fun. It really reinforces the idea to me that these tractors are among the most versatile ever made, truly.

Hey buddy ya just need more weight on the back ,, on my JD i use the jd cast iron weights on wheels and hang 4 JD suit case weights off the back,, you can hang them on the back blade or build a simple weight bracket on the back high enough so it doesn’t impede the use of back blade which is what i do...i have carsle ags on back and front and a 175 foot drive way here in PA never need chains it pushes threw any snow,, maybe do that on your 455.. promise you will love how it performs..of course our JD are also a much heavier tractor to begin with which helps...

PhatboyHD88 thanks for the tips! I was considering hanging some of my suitcase weights off of the blade, that seems like a smart idea.

Hi I was wondering where I could find a snow blade that would fit an old roper similar to this

Find out what local classified ad listing site is most popular in your area and search there. Very often, implements are not sold on their own. You might have to buy a tractor package to get the implements you like, then just sell the stuff you don't want afterwards.

ayp193 I sold that back in early 2015. Recently last year it popped up for sale and sold again. A very unique tractor and I was thankful for my time with it.
