Ya gotta love the Midwest! I have never heard of a garden tractor plow day. It looks fun, though. Tracy got quite a workout. My husband has a Graham Paige walk behind garden tractor from about 1940, my 93 year old dad gave it to him. He’s a little afraid to actually use it, it’s quite the beast!
I was about 8 when my dad went to the Topeka sears (1952) to get our David Bradly. Got the plow. disk, cultivator, and front end sickle bar mower. Made a trailer out of some old steel wheels and two beater bars out of an old combine for the hitch. Had the 3.5 Briggs engine and knobby tires. Dad wore out the tires when he used them on his 52 Rambler for snow tires. Those were some fun times out picking corn and gathering wheat straw for the garden.
Watching this brought back memories when I was a kid... makes my shoulder hurt again just thinking about plowing 1/2 acre garden with a Sears garden tractor with the manual-lift cat O single bottom plow, where you had to lean way back to reach the handle pull it up at the end of a pass.
I would love to bring my father and son to this super cool event. Soo cool. Keep it up and you'll have rows of RV and trailer.
