I appologize for my asthma attack and half ass camera work in this, it was very emotional for me and we were not suppose to be taking video but I risked getting kicked out so that I could share because I know this music means a lot to alot of people who could not be there.
Thank you for this xana .I saved this & put it in my storage. Its really a great slice of a beautiful magic evening. Ha , the sneaky video lady strikes again , ha ha ! I guess you can't film & huff an inhaler at the same time. :( (awkwardddd.)..... Thanks for the great film !! Truly a labor of love............
@@justmissjamey because of the title they gave to him which chris cornell or layne staley deserves more they(nirvana) dont even mingle with the other big 4 of grunge unlike aic soundgarden and pj
Wow! Jeff Angell just kills it on "Lifeless Dead". (no pun intended) Layne was a genius vocalist and even his angriest melodies are still so beautiful. The Mad Season record really captures the infinite soul he had when he sang.
LedZ were brilliant beyond their years. Greatest band of the '70's. Never forget Knebworth. These musicians are obviously of a different genre, yet just as brilliant.
Holy crap! Great day for me finding this!!! The B&W is an amazing touch!! Thanks for the clandestine post!!! Look at all the exclamation marks I used!!!
This is brilliant. Great performances, great musicians. I cant wait to see official release of this show. Thanks for the video. Seattle lover from the Czech republic
Thank you and just so you know-from my view-I saw NO professional filming being done and I'm at shows at small and large venues 3 times a week-so this may be all there is-at some previous shows of this size and importance I have for instance, noticed go-pro cams all over Barrett's drums, etc. I looked all over and I saw nothing so hopefully this little gem along with the others that snuck video in will be appreciated! I sure was thinking I'd see a crew there and was really surprised there was not-since I was misinforned that " Union " photographers would be there?
THIS WAS MIKE FREAKIN MCCREADY IDEA TO PUT THIS INCREDIBLE PERFORMANCE TOGETHER. MIKE LOVED HIS FRIEND LAYNE STALEY, HE REALLY TRY TO HELP HIM, SOOO SAD 😢. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MAD SEASON! RIP LAYNE STALEY CHRIS CORNELL, JOHN BAKER SAUNDERS AND MARK LANEGAN. DUFF SEEMS LIKE A GENTLE SOUL. 😊💓🔥🤘✌️ THANK YOU MIKE FREAKIN MCCREADY!!
This is just absolutely incredible. Thank you so so so much for recording this performance and sharing. Incredible A dream come true Thank You Thank You Thank You!!! We miss you Layne We miss you Andy
I don't care if anyone believes me, but Layne is here with me, he could reach out and touch me when I play this song. I'm alone on my back porch, playing his words, and he is here.
thank you very much dear XANA, im a big fan of AIC, mad season & soundgarden, this is a real treasure, i would have give anything for being there and listened to " ALL ALONE" , i know one day ill visit seattle,,,Regards from Mexico!!!
I gotta say this is Awesome and I have been so fortunate to have grown up in Gig Harbor and Tacoma, WA ( almost 50 now) with this exceptional music and these top notch musicians. I gotta give a MAJOR Shoutout to KIM VIRANT!!!!! So AMAIZING KIM! Miss the Lazy Susan Days at the Croc and RCKNDY!!!!! Timeless talent as i remember the good ol days..............and SHAWN SMITH is also the BOMB!!! Thank you so Much for Sharing Xana!
Let's talk for a bit about how Reach Down is maybe the best song to come out of Seattle and the grunge era in general. To me, its such an "outdoor festival" song. I love listening to it outside at the lake with a beer in my hand.
I don't know what chode would thumbs down this, but everyone's performance was donated time for charity and I filmed it for myself mainly, I could have hoarded it like a lot of Seattle photographers do, I see it all the time, so if you don't have anything nice to say, go listen to some shitty music on someone else's channel!
Furthermore I was sick and using a 5 year old camera, not bad if I say so myself and Mike McCready LOVES this video, he told me himself so there! #kissmymonkeysass
Regarding the thumbs down from the "chode", screw 'em!! It just seems that nowadays people feel like they have to complain about everything. I think your vid is hot!! And the music is freakin' fantastic!!! I live in NYC but I like Seattle and the arts scene there. Great city. Great vibology. This is really good stuff. Thanks for posting.
Layne's lyrics came from the depth of soul. Natural ability with an ear for music. There are people who can listen to a particular instrument, play it without reading music. We fool around with it, in the case of myself piano & flute, but are also taught to read music. Then there are those who play reading the notes but they don't have an ear for it.
This is all phenomenal, but Jefferson Angell gives me butterflies. Lifeless Dead is possibly my favorite on the album (is it really possible to pick a favorite when they're all sooo damn good?!) and he just rocks it. Thank you Xana!
There will NEVER EVER EVER be another like Layne Staley, but this set was amazing! And I never knew what Duff McKagen looked like, though I'd heard his name. Yowza. Looks better now than when he was younger, methinks.
Wow it's an amazing footage.. I'm from Chile .. Right now here it's Sunday morning and it's the best ... because of this music .. I love Madseason .. And thanks a lot for this ! You made it !
Still kicking myself in the ass for not getting tickets when I had the chance. WTF was I thinking!?!? Thanks for this footage, you've shined a great big light on what I knew was a fantastic event, but was in the darkness of the actual performance. You are a godsend!
Greatness!!!! 2 of the best side projects ever wish us fans could have gotten 2 albums of each band instead of just the one! This concert is tied for first, as the greatest concert I've ever attended. Prince on his Purple Rain tour being the other. It was a magical and emotional night. Chris was at his best.
this is absolutely awesome, but so sad now to lose Chris as well, I can't believe it. :( Everyone goes on about Eddie being the only one left, and I love Ed, but Mark Lanegan is another epic vocalist from this era who would be perfect for this. I'm disappointed there was no version of November Hotel with the orchestra... I was looking forward to an epic McCready solo to cap off this amazing tribute for Layne. Rest in peace Cornell... nobody sings like you or Layne anymore xx

fuck, emotional to me as well, and I thank you for doing it. I missed it, and I live this music, to the fullest. thanks
Chris Cornell singing in place of Layne is the greatest thing they could've done to uphold respect.
I totally agree layne and chris are the forefathers of grunge(andrew wood too) not the big headed ego minded cobain
Absolutely Agree 💯. Much Respect Chris Cornell. Rip Layne Staley. We Love and Miss You ❤️♥️❤️❣️

TalkShowHost I want the release
It's Duff Mckagan on bass in case you didn't notice.
He knew the guys in Alice in Chains
I just found this after the passing of Chris Cornell. Made me cry. All the good ones are gone now...
CHRIS CORNELL :THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AND DELICATE HISTORY VOICE´S
31:59. I got chills. Geez, Layne, you are SO missed.
Wow...was coming to see if anyone had mentioned it. That was awesome. Need to start it at 30:27 tho for the full effect.
Vault Boy this is amazing how they played along with his vocals! What a great tribute to him. I love it
And now our beloved Chris 💔
Painful, isn't it? : (
😿
That rhythm section of Matt, Mike, Stone and Jeff is insanely tight now that they've been
playing together in Pearl Jam for so long.
its cool AF to see Duff jammin with these guys! \m/
Damn! I wish Chris was still here! What an incredible talent with singing and songwriting!! I hope you're at peace, Chris!
some of the greatest musicians and songwriting since Led Zeppelin in my book. I love Mad Season & Temple of the Dog....well done bro.
LedZ were brilliant beyond their years. Greatest band of the '70's. Never forget Knebworth. These musicians are obviously of a different genre, yet just as brilliant.
