Love how the audience does Layne's part in the chorus. Goosebumps.
I love how the bass drum head is the Mad Season album cover
Layne may not me the best vocal from the grunge scene, but for me, he had the most iconic voice. And we we're blessed with Cobain, Lanegan, Vedder, and even Weiland - who was not "so much grunge" - but still awesome.
Awesome version of this track, only Cornell could do Layne justice… Glad to see these songs still live on!
Lane was a singer Chris was a screamer
@@bobcowlesjr9920 then you haven’t heard enough of Laynes work also they’ve made a song together
@@thisone2540 exactly fucking right
And mark
though he did a great job that's not how is supposed to sound. Don't get me wrong, I love Chris Cornell, and his voice. It's just a different range.
Only Cornell can pull off Lanegan AND Staley. The worst part is now all 3 of them are gone 💔
yeah seriously how insane is that, two of the most unique voices ever that you just can't force without blowing your throat up, and chris effortlessly holds his own covering them haha. Plus I love how he sang similarly to how they both did originally, proper show of respect
@@connormatthews522 Chris Cornell was such an amazing talent, and you’re right, the way he made it his own while still retaining the nuances of the original.
Don't know why Lanegan wasn't there. I'm sure he would of been asked
Sad but true, bro. At last, their music is eternal.
😢
Im 55 and grew up on great music Long Gone Day is my favorite song😢 we lost our great ones
this brought me to tears, completely surreal. Chris singing for Layne, with them both being fucking gone
This song really captures a tangible nostalgia within my soul. Hoping Layne and Chris can still feel the love of their fans.
..here's to Hope...may it be the one thing undying.
R.I.P. Chris, love you brother.
pobre mi amor querido. siempre te extrañare
Cobain, Staley, Cornell, Weiland, Lanegan... So much genius, so many losses.
WOW that was awesome!! Love Chris Cornell and Layne Staley I really miss them soo very much ❤️🤘😇😇 RIP .
❤️
Now I need to hear Layne and Mark sing it.
Chris most certainly ain't bad, but come on, right?
Chris had to do both parts just imagine if he had mark, prick.
Brilliant performance by Chris, but to me it still shows how powerful laynes voice was to me and sadly missed the both of them are 😞
And now Mark too
Damn Cornell delivered such an effortless yet beautiful performance here. Completely made this song his own somehow
When I first saw this performance years ago..I thought it was touching yet sad. But it also showed how great and humble of a musician Chris Cornell is.. to take time from his busy schedule and do his friends a favor and perform with them in memory of Layne. Now watching this after Chris's passing.... this performance is heartbreaking. Watching a great musician who has passed singing the song of a fellow musician and friend who had passed before him is surreal and tragic
Especially after losing Andy Wood, it's not surprising the addiction culture amongst them all
R.I.P. Layne and Chris... 💗
I think this is really cool despite the negagively. Seeing jazz, rock, and classically trained musicians playing together is pretty darn cool to me
..pretty darn cool.
Why are ppl asking where Mark is? Maybe it's something that Chris/Mad Season wanted to do, remember Chris is singing for Layne and Mark here, he did a great job, Much respect for all their talents. Rest easy Layne and Chris❤
And now Mark as well :(
this made me cry. So beautiful. Sad that they did not do it with two voices like the original.
just found this gem today - Dec 26, 2022. WTF there is stilll stuff Chris has done i have not heard! hope i live long enough to hear it all!
GOOSEBUMPS
Dang! That IS duff on bass. Sweet
Didn't the original bass player of Mad Season also die? Let's remember him, too.
@@rebeccawalter645yes he did. Back in 99’
Mr Cornell. Watch this and never forget what you could do.
Kristofer Lee this is pretty eery
Chris made this song his own. In another presentation he even got out the bug from his ear, like I wanna hear the song, man... not how I'm singing! and he nailed it too. Full awesomeness
Staley ♥ la voz irremplazable
full of emotion it’s so thick.
Live on Forever this music, and it will!! To GOOD!!✌
Very cool version although the Layne & Marks performance live at the paramount really cuts to the bone.amazing song, amazing artists all.r.i.p Chris,r.i.p Layne gone but never forgotten 👻
I love this version. Miss you Chris..
Happy Birthday Chris. Never forgotten. Always in my heart. Thank you Chris for everything. For everything. ♥️🦋☮️
July 20th, 2022.
I’m so happy I came across this video
Wowzers....goose bumps in full effect....
Hauntingly gorgeous
I'm glad they are giving mad season some love. It's a brilliant album and the live at the moore performance is even better.
Que buena música han dejado estos grandes del rock y grunge. 👌
Love, love this performance.
Beautiful...chills ♥️
This was a fucking long gone day since you both left, we’ll miss you Chris and Layne.
So much blood I'm starting to drown
Runs from cold to colder
Time to time the sky's come down
To help me lose my way
Tears and lies for answers
You and open veins
God knows I'm gone
Girl I just want you to
Come on down
Lord it's a storm and I'm heading to fall
These sins are mine and I've done wrong, oh babe
Come on down
Long Gone Day
Mmmm, who ever said
We wash away with the rain
See you all from time to time
Isn't it so strange
How far away we all are now
Am I the only one who remembers that summer
Oh, I remember
Everyday each time the place was saved
The music that we made
The wind has carried all of that away
Long gone day
Mmmm, who ever said
We wash away with the rain
So many tears I'm starting to drown
The rain in heaven's all come down
Silver spoons affix the crown
The luckless ones are broken
Fears and lies for answers
You and open flames
God knows I'm gone
And I just want you to
Come on down, hmmm
Lord it's a storm and I'm heading to fall
These sins are mine and I've done wrong
I want you to
Oh, I just want you to
Come on down
I fear again, like then, I've lost my way
And shout to God to bring my sunny day
I've always loved a good symphony. Beautiful
*_Awesome Saxophone Skills_* 🎷
No better man to do it than Chris nice job
So many precious ones passed away...
How great this would be if everyone stopped randomly whoooooooooing - I would be sitting in silent respect at the magnificent voice and spectacle in front of me - all the musicians - the full experience. If anyone knows a version that has been audio edited to get rid of the peripheral stuff that would be great
I came here to say that! Shut the hell up and listen to it in its entirety. There’s time to whoop and holler at the end. Damn! It kind of took me out of the experience.
almost perfect
Perfect tribute.
Stunning
Magic!
WHOEVER SAID WE WASH AWAY WITH THE RAIN "??☠🖤💋
Didn’t know this happened!!
Whoever grew up in the 90's and doesn't get chills to this song must have no soul.
Nobody can sing like Layne did.
Not even Cornell.
wow that was fucking increadable Fuckin miss you chris brother friend . the world isn't right will out you
You can tell it's recorded at a HALL!
Haunting.
The universe is not making another one of those.
That's the sound of a man who sings from the soul. That's within us all man.
@@skobywankenobi We’re all connected. It’s a beautiful thing.
Love how duff mckagan is f#cking cool play bass
Barrett!!
First time i see Duff Mckagan wearing suit
Omg that solo
sensacional!
just beautiful 💀💋🖤
Now Chris and Layne together.......
with Andy
..two rays...in Endless Darkness.
And Mark 😥
where the fuck is lanegan?
saztradamus probably smoking if it didn't kill him
probably on tour?
saztradamus really lanegan? what about Staley dumbass?
FSEVENMAN Staley is dead? Lanegan sings in this song aswell
SPC Productions and is still alive lol
What is it about a Sax that just makes a song better?
It always makes me think of that shot of George Michaels Gooch in the Wham Club Tropicana video for some reason. I'm not even gay but I certainly may have questions to ask myself.
Mark lanegan had something more important to do?
I mean, heroin is pretty important right?
I had to come back just to thumb up this comment.
He was on tour
Lanegan has been clean since his early 30s asshole.
He's one of the hardest working singers out there with numerous collaborations. He was most likely on tour in Europe.
Who cares. He’s boring as fuck anyways.
wow that’s my birthday !!!
I love this song. Yet another example of how Chris Cornell could cover any song and effortlessly do it better than the original. He will forever be missed
Yup, it is It is a LOT better, actually. He has a deeper, more sentimental voice and tone, and changes octaves with his usual creepy ease. Listen hard from 2:20 especially the dives and the long notes he pulls. Not just better. Simply outstanding!!!!
Hey, Cornell is my favorite vocalist of all time, and I love this cover, but it's nowhere close the original.
Eleni Kgr No.
As someone who loves Chris Cornell just as much as Layne, I find that disrespectful
@@motorologist Not sure why--I'm expressing my opinion. And in my opinion Chris was a better singer than Layne in every way! May they both RIP
Like butter.
Wish this had been more professionally recorded from an audio perspective. Great rendition of a great song.
Duff lookin smart af
I'm so spoiled on Chris's voice. He outperformed both Layne and Mark. Only Chris Cornell could singlehandedly do a cover song that blows the original out of the water.
Words can't adequately convey how much I miss this beautiful soul. This earth just isn't the same without him. 😢
He did the song justice, but the original is far better.
Nice sax!!
not like layne....but amazing
Damn, son!
la wea hermosa por la chucha
Anyone know where Mark Lanagan was for this?
And now Mark is gone. Rip
Now Cornell and both of the original vocalists are dead, long gone days for sure.
That sax tho!
if chris and chester did this song together, then chester would sing laynes part and chris would sing mark lanagans part
Funny enough I think Chester and Layne had the same exact range. I remember Chester sang with Alice In Chains before Duvall.
@@nonameman7114 Chester Bennington's lowest notes and highest notes are higher than Layne's. Interesting though that Cornell, Lanegan, and Staley all had the same highest note (A5) but different lowest notes.
@motorologist Chester was able to belt out a B4 and hold it in chest voice which I don't think layne would quite be able to do. But laynes power was unmatched. They're both my 2 favorite singers
Woah, I had no idea Chris ever covered one of Layne's songs
It's going to blow your mind when you find out that Chris and Layne sang in the same song for RIGHT TURN on SAP w Alice in Chains
@@krystalroxX7 Yeah I've been listening to that one for 20 years. It was also my favorite performance from Mark Arm
duff looks like a tall kurt cobain here
♥
it was good intil that stupid hip hop outro came in.
Fuck yaaaaa!
Sure
Duff McKagan on Bass?
Yup. Looking like a blonde Troy Van Leeuwen
How many times can the singer of a song die?
Mark is gone now too...
Mark lanegan and lane staley = crhrs cornell.

Barrett’s drums get drowned down at times
Ugh wish it was HD 🙄
..silver spoons affix the crown..🥄👑
Pq chris estava abatido?
Wtf is this magic
Well, it's an ,,okay", but not more. Where's Lanegan? I agree with Cornell, but he doesn't has a deep voice, like Lanegan, so he sang 1 octave higher. It's not a problem, but not perfect. And i think the orchestra is unnecessary...
mic the fucking drums man
BOOOO HE WAS A SCREAMER
So much people and not even close to the original :(
you've done wrong you've sung.
Layne and Chris are 2 separate voiced that shouldn't do one another's songs
dosent match
