This would bring tears to Layne's eyes... Beautiful job to Mike McCready for making this happen... To see Chris Cornell contributing to the lyrics... Then with the symphony rocking out to Mad Season is incredible... Layne, you may be gone but your fans will forever keep your music and legacy alive... Chris Cornell thank you for your voice and the music you've shared with us as well... The 90's grunge era will forever be the most significant musical impact of my time...

WOW!! I was completely unaware of this video. Long Gone Day is not only my favorite Mad Season song but is in my top 10 list of favorite songs of all time. When Mad Season along with Mark Lanegan performed this at the Moore Theater, it was absolutely brilliant. One of my favorite Layne Staley performances of all time.
My wife became pregnant with our first child in January 2002. After Layne passed away, we decided to honor him by naming our first child Layne. We didn't know the sex of the child so when she gave birth to our daughter, we changed the spelling to Laine. We still believed it was a fitting tribute to Layne. She will be 20 years old soon and is leaving for college in a couple months. It's hard to believe it's been so long. 😢 We all love and miss you Layne

Layne was truly an inspirational and talented singer. Chris Cornell can sing anything. He is one of the greatest singers and songwriters of the modern age. Remarkable. Layne would be proud of this performance.

Wish music would get that spark in creativity again and not always be about the shitty mainstream.

I'm so sorry I am listening to this for the first time just now. And not seven years before. One of the top ten albums of all time. Both of them were unique and brought special emotions with their out-of-earth voices. Though Layne wrote it, River of Deceit resonates with both of them, as it does with many of us still alive, and I could definitely hear it in Chris' singing as well as when I first heard Layne sing it...The sadness, the inevitability, the struggle, the power...So true, so sad, so powerful, so touched...I'm thankful this video exists and you put it on UA-cam, and I accidentaly ran into it! It will go on repeat for days...and then again...

How surreal. A legend singing another legends song...and he would be gone as well two years later.

The way Duff is looking at Chris at the end of Long Gone Day. I love how the other guys stood in awe when the Master performed.

One of my favorite songs River of Deceit. A deceitfully complicated yet simply delivered son.
