Yeah I think they have nailed it this year! Both bikes are unreal, but again, have different purposes, it's not that one bike is better than the other. Both bikes are great at different things. Coming from an old Kona hardtail (26") and looking to get my first full suss. Stumbled upon this bike recently having thought Canyon Neuron would be the way I'd go. Living in the rather flat East of England I want a bike that pedals well and can handle the miles on the less exciting terrain as well as uplift days etc. Guessing from reviews this bike ticks those boxes? Also a little undecided on wheel sizes myself, was set on 27.5 but unsure wether to go the whole hog to 29 - never ridden either. I'm not a big lad - 5' 7" ish and 11st max. Hey Graham, thanks for your question. In terms of wheel size, I'd go for the 29er over 27.5 in most cases mainly due to the rolling speed, efficency etc. Also, it depends on your budget which model you go for as vitus offer three with different specs. I'd 100% make sure you get one with a dropper seat post, if you don't you'll only find yourself upgrading a few weeks later. So my advice on that front would be to spend a little extra for the model with the dropper post! It's a life changer

Great video really enjoyed it. Sorry if this has already been answered. I'm stuck deciding between 27.5 and a 29. I currently ride a 27.5 HT. Does it take much to adjust to the 29? I'm 6'3 and ride a XL.
Just looking into a full suspension bike and have this and the escarpe cr in mind! Your slightly edging me more towards this than the base model escarpe
You mention upgrading the bottom bracket. I'm at that point now with the VRX where the bottom bracket feels gritty (NL +/- 1 year of riding). Do you have a recommendation for upgrading the bottom bracket? Cheers
Hi,thanks for the video! How is the bike on the road? Do you need to lock firm the suspension front and rear? Does the rear suspension move a lot? How much. How is it when you pedal standing? I've some tracks around 20km from my home so if it"s gona kill me or not :) thanks
Would this bike be suitable for a first MTB? Or am I best getting the VRS or something cheaper whilst I pick up the basics? I don’t really know how to best maintain the bike so I don’t want to waste money - obviously I’ll learn as time goes on
I'd say it's be more suited to the bikepark vs the 50 mile xc race. Just because of the travel on the bike. Xc race bikes tend to have much less travel than 140mm
Definitely made my mind up on the Mythique VRX. When i finally get my hands on one 🙈. Making the transition from Hard tail. Just wondering after watching the video when you first recieved. Being 29ers, do you think they will be a bit more forgiving on rough terrain or if a mistake is made? Great review 👍👍 Russ Derby Derbyshire
Hey Russ - thanks for the question. 29ers do ride differently on the trail, especially if you're coming from say, a 26 inch wheel. Also hardtail to full suspension will be a big transition - I think you'll be quietly surprised at just how different the two bikes are (in a good way)
Hi mate, what’s do you think of the pedals that come with “VRX” ? Do you recommend any to upgrade to if they aren’t good ? Also what front mud guard have you got on it ?
Hey man, mine didn't come with any pedals. I'd get some Nukeproof horizon flat pedals or shimano dx clips (my personal preference 😜). The front mudguard is a mudhugger 🤟
Hi there ,I’m 51 yrs old and 6ft 1 inch tall and would love a vitus.I keep getting emails from vitus about extra large bikes available,in the 29ers size .Would I get away with riding this size of bike or should I be looking at just the large size .I live a stone’s threw away from Beecraigs bike park .Thankyou ,best wishes to yourself and your colleagues.
Loved the Vid, and thanks for your response to my question! Reconsidering, I might rather go for a Hardtail with better spec withinthe 1.000-1.500€ Range, any recommendations here? The Issue with Vitus (and brands like Nukeproof) in germany seems to be that they´re sold out so bloody fast that you´d have to be waiting for realease and immediately pull the trigger - which I´m not really comfortable with. So my Question would be: do you have Hardtails you´d recommend (regarding your last answer: dropper post would be something I´d upgrade myself if need be), and how important is the distinction between coil forks and air forks in Hardtails? Cheers and stay healthy!
I don't have a hardtail this year, last year we had the Sentier hardtails in 27.5 Wheel, really fun bike. When int comes to air vs coil, I've always prefered the feel of a coil shock. Personal preference. Dropper pot, when it comes to the Mythique the VR model does not come with a dropper, where as the VRS and the VRX models do. Definitely worth upgrading from the VR from a dropper standpoint
How come on the bike on the website has a straight top tube but has a bent one in real life but in some other videos it is straight? Is it something to do with the size?
Hey John, I'm 6ft 1" and I'm currently on an XL. The rider level doesn't matter when it comes to bike sizing in my opinion. Be great if you could get a test ride to try large or XL before you commit. But for me, I'd go xl
I am 6ft2 with a 32” inside leg so sit between both the large and XL on the size guide. What would you recommend? Additionally, would you say 29 the better choice for the taller rider?
Don't know if I should go for the 2021 mythique vrx or the escarpe Cr??. I know the escarpe had a slightly downgraded spec. Is the extra £200 for a carbon frame worth it??
what do you think, vitus Myithuque vrx vs the sommet base model both in 29, which one should i take, 6 times per year bike park(winterberg) normaly some trail with a lot uphill but also jumps
+Wolfpack Adventures. I am also the owner of a MYTHIQUE 29 VRX. I experience that the paint chips off very easily. What is your experience regarding paint job quality?
I hear this all so often. I'm worried that the paint is going to chip. Regardless of how thick the clear cote is, if you're firing stones into the frame from the wheels, its going to chip. So protect the frame with a frame protector kit, or even Gorilla Tape. It will stop all but the most heavy impacts.
Any info on whether this will be getting an update for 2021? Definitely considering saving for one but with uni approaching it'll be a lengthy save and wondering if I'd be best holding out for the new year.
Awesome videos, I've been watching your videos with this model and the oragen Sommet 29. Have you had the opportunity to try out the Escarpe in either 27.5 or 29er? if so, what are your thoughts on the escarpe and would you go for VRS or VRX? Thank you in advance.
I haven't ridden the new style Escarpe - rode the 27" escarpe last year and that thing ripped. I guess it comes down to personal preference and deciding wha you want the primary purpose of the bike to be. Full on enduro = probably the Sommet A bit of everything (Alps, UK riding, Singletrack) = Escarpe or Mythique Local UK riding and trail centres or longer distance stuff = Mythique ^^^ Those are my opinions
No thr case at all Nathan, they are simply out of stock and will be back soon! Vitus just shared a Facebook post all about it actually, I shared it on my Facebook
I was actually entering my credit card info on what I now see was the last size large they had, about a week ago... it got bought out from underneath me :/
Tough call between the XL and L, I'm on the XL and have not tried the large. I have a large sommet and XL sommet. Whenever I ride the large sommet I always think it could possibly be a better overall size. The XL for me who is also 6ft 1 ish, is ok the big side. How do you like your bike's? Do you like a lot of cockpit space? Or quite a short and nimble machine?
Would u consider 29 for shorter riders? I'm 165 cm and was planning on getting 27.5 once available but I keep going back and forth. Currently on 26 so be a big upgrade to 29. With everything locked down hard to test ride anything.
Hey Chad, I'd still go 29er. Going from 26 to 27.5 or 29er is a jump, sure. But Id think you'd get way more benefit on the 29er wheels. Better rolling speed, more efficiency etc etc basically a more fun ride!
Is wiggle and chain reaction the only place to get these bikes? I've wanted either the summer VR 29 or the mythique VRX 29 which would you recommend this would be my first full suspension bike?
Currently arguing with my mates regarding the age-old 27 vs 29 argument. for the Mythique, MBR magazine say 27, whilst Wolfpack says 29 is the way to go. Clearly the only way to solve this is a massive fight, but seeing as thats not possible, could someone please provide some guidance here? I'm nothing special on a bike, so I'm drifting towards the ease of the 29.
I'd go 29" - that's my personal preference. Rolling efficiency is better. Gets over obstacles easier. I feel it's 'safer' Those are just MY opinions - but I'm thinking of making a video on this as it's a fairly common question
@@wolfpack_adventures Whats your take on the BB height? thats one of the key points MBR magazine complaints about afaik. I personally don't think it's that high, for a non-pro bike it's fine.
Does the sommet still have a hole in the frame near the bb where the bottom of the shock is, on the 2017 model when washing it this whole fills with water and then the bike has to be put upside down for a while to allow the water to come out. Cheers
Hey James, There are holes for the cables, both the dropper and the gear and brake cables, I believe this is still the case - maybe it's different on the carbon models as apposed to the alloy frames.
Hey dudes, I'm hoping to buy this bike as it's the best I can afford. I'm 6ft1 with 37" inseam (short body long legs) so should I go for large or extra large? Vitus website states large but I have weirdly long legs short body. What do I do?
Hey Toby, definitely not disconnected. Simply out of stock, pretty sue they will be back in stock soon, check Vitus Facebook page. They recently posted about when they'd be back in stock
Hey great video man. I am 5'8 and unsure whether to get this bike in a medium or large frame with 29s. Would appreciate if anyone could give me their opinion with the bike, thanks!
29ers for me are the way forward. They carry momentum better and get over obstacles easier. Basically less effort for a better riding experience in my experience
@@wolfpack_adventures i'm about to buy one of them two. but i still dont know what is the one for me. your answer is hightly appreciated. thanks mate. have nice rides..
I guess it comes down to what you want to do with the bike. I use both the Sommet and Mythique for similar riding in Innerleithen, but when racing EWS, I'd choose the Sommet just because of it having more suspension. However I'd love to test the Mythique on some bigger, longer stages or tracks...im sure it would handle pretty much anything that's thrown at it
@@wolfpack_adventures I was at chain reaction yesterday, my son liked the mythique I liked the sommet 29 vr and the escarpe 29 vr, I haven't ridden in years so complete noob, I'm on Northern Ireland so trails would be cavehill, castlewellan, Mary peters and at a push as they look sketchy tollymore and rostrevor. Bought mine back in January, but my dropper post is having problems. It wont go down into the tube without stopping it from locking out (still goes up and down when lever is all the way closed) do you have any ideas pls?

It's a direct to consumer brand. So buy off Chain Reaction Cycles, or Wiggle. The bike will be shipped from the UK. Just had the lowest tier VR shipped to me in Alberta. Got screwed at customs paying close to $300 tho
Hmm, kinda disagree man. You've got an air chamber which you can put more or less air in to adjust it to your weight. Then a simple low speed compression adjuster for finer tweaks, along with rebound 🤷♂️
I also disagree with you mustclime the the air you put into the forks makes the most difference to anything you can do to a fork .yes most forks come with rebound which you can run an either extremity but let's be honest only 30% of that range is useable and the rest is purely there as a feature to say it's got 20 clicks of rebound .also why would anyone want to use LSC only to ruin the small bump sensitivity and as for hsc unless your chasing gee down dyfi back that all the way off .watch anything from Chris porter from mojo rising and all these features are just ways for us to ruin a perfectly good fork that the experts who have spent tens of thousands in R&D .yes give us adjustment but surely the people making the fork know far more than the end user . The shim stack is something you can play with to get the fork to your exact requirements and companies like formula ext etc are all getting on this and pricing valves just like the new vvt on the new fox forks .

From experience I'd say go with a large. I'm 6ft 1 and rode the XL Mythique, and I thought it was a tad to big for my liking
Looking at getting a VRX. Hopefully when they're back in stock. I'm 5'10" 30inch inside leg. Do you think I'd be better with a 27.5?
I'm pretty sure it comes with 180mm rotors standard. Apart from that great review!
Yep, you're correct, my mistake
Probably getting one with the restock! No idea if I should go medium or large on the 29er though with 175cm height and ~82 cm inseam
Trying to convince my parents to get it me for my birthday I was wondering how the paint holds up and does it maintain the shine in the paint
How come on the bike on the website has a straight top tube but has a bent one in real life but in some other videos it is straight? Is it something to do with the size?
Could be to do with the size if the bike in the photo you saw
I've just noticed it...mine is a M size and it is straight top tube
Hi, thanks for the review. What size frame would you recommend for me? I’m 6’1”, 34 inch inseam, 188 pounds? Intermediate rider.
Thanks.
I'd go XL at your height and inside leg length, and 29er, yes
Don't know if I should go for the 2021 mythique vrx or the escarpe Cr??. I know the escarpe had a slightly downgraded spec. Is the extra £200 for a carbon frame worth it??
KUDOS for building tracks!
what do you think, vitus Myithuque vrx vs the sommet base model both in 29, which one should i take, 6 times per year bike park(winterberg) normaly some trail with a lot uphill but also jumps
+Wolfpack Adventures. I am also the owner of a MYTHIQUE 29 VRX.
I experience that the paint chips off very easily. What is your experience regarding paint job quality?
Never had the paint 'chip off' but I have noticed it is thin paint in some places on the bike
I'm new to mountain biking. Would you recommend this bike or the boardman mtr 8.9?
Hi Alex,
How have you set up the fork and shock in terms of sag, pressures and possible volume reducers? Cheers
Hey, I run roughly 30% sag in the rear, 28% up front.
Any volume spacers in the fork?
Any info on whether this will be getting an update for 2021? Definitely considering saving for one but with uni approaching it'll be a lengthy save and wondering if I'd be best holding out for the new year.
Good question, probably worth hitting Vitus's support team up to ask!
Hi Bud:)
Could you tell anything more about rear triangle?
Is it maybe a little fragile or delicate?
Greetings
Awesome videos, I've been watching your videos with this model and the oragen Sommet 29. Have you had the opportunity to try out the Escarpe in either 27.5 or 29er? if so, what are your thoughts on the escarpe and would you go for VRS or VRX? Thank you in advance.
I haven't ridden the new style Escarpe - rode the 27" escarpe last year and that thing ripped.
I guess it comes down to personal preference and deciding wha you want the primary purpose of the bike to be.
Full on enduro = probably the Sommet
A bit of everything (Alps, UK riding, Singletrack) = Escarpe or Mythique
Local UK riding and trail centres or longer distance stuff = Mythique
^^^ Those are my opinions
Have you done a review on the mythique vr if not will you ?iv just ordered the vr
Not yet but its definitely an idea for future videos
I've just ordered the mythique vr and it my first full suspension thats why i asked
Now all moved from Out of Stock to “No Longer Available” on Wiggle, assume that means they’ve been discontinued.
No thr case at all Nathan, they are simply out of stock and will be back soon! Vitus just shared a Facebook post all about it actually, I shared it on my Facebook
Found it !!! Ta Mid June 👍
I was actually entering my credit card info on what I now see was the last size large they had, about a week ago... it got bought out from underneath me :/
im 6 foot 1 inch tall and 160 pounds. should i get the large or xl frame!?
Tough call between the XL and L, I'm on the XL and have not tried the large. I have a large sommet and XL sommet. Whenever I ride the large sommet I always think it could possibly be a better overall size. The XL for me who is also 6ft 1 ish, is ok the big side. How do you like your bike's? Do you like a lot of cockpit space? Or quite a short and nimble machine?
I am saving up for a vitus mytgique vrx ore a vitus sentier vrs wich wane schould I buy
For me it'd be the Mythique VRX :)
@@wolfpack_adventures thx for the responds
When it´s in stock again, how long you have to wait till it arrives by me? I live in Germany and want it soo bad!!!
I think vitus have a page on their site with stock availability 👍hopefully soon!
@@wolfpack_adventures Do you have a Link when it‘s in stock?
Does this bike have an option to lock the rear shock out slightly?
Not on the stock shock, no
Great video lad what helmet you got?👍
If you're UK based i think they are the only dealers. I have also been looking for the 27.5 version of this bike but can't find it anywhere.
I feel it's 'safer'
Those are just MY opinions - but I'm thinking of making a video on this as it's a fairly common question
Any idea when these are back in stock?
I think there's a page on their site that shows when bikes will be back in stock
Hey dudes, I'm hoping to buy this bike as it's the best I can afford. I'm 6ft1 with 37" inseam (short body long legs) so should I go for large or extra large? Vitus website states large but I have weirdly long legs short body. What do I do?
How long did it take u to get this cuz ive been waiting forever and its always out of stock
We work with Vitus
Why is it impossible to find this bike in stock? Is it discontinued?
Hey Toby, definitely not disconnected. Simply out of stock, pretty sue they will be back in stock soon, check Vitus Facebook page. They recently posted about when they'd be back in stock
WOLFPACK ADVENTURES says they’ll be back in stock mid June. Almost went off and bought another bike. Saviour thank you 🙏🙏🙏
Hey great video man. I am 5'8 and unsure whether to get this bike in a medium or large frame with 29s. Would appreciate if anyone could give me their opinion with the bike, thanks!
I'm going for the Large, and I'm 6'1". Should be good enough reach for me, while keeping the bike nimble and agile. Hope that helps...
Great review. Thx!
Glad you enjoyed it Kevin, let me know if you need any further help!
hi mate. why did you choose the 29 instead the 27.5? thanks
Looking at getting this bike, how would it hold up with my height and size, I'm 6'3 230lbs. I won't be doing anything major just local trails
Hey Phil, I'd say it would be super. Go for the XL size and you'll be grand 👌
@@wolfpack_adventures cheers for reply, I'm sold on that bike
What about the sommet over the mythique? With only a couple hundred more expensive would it be a better buy?
Appreciate the help
ahh trying to decide between the vrx and the jeffsy base 29er for $300 more for my first mtb...
I'm biased. VRX 🤣
When is this in stock next?
Unsure! Email CRC or wiggle and see what their customer service says, I don't think it'll be too long, but its definitely going to be worth the wait!
WOLFPACK ADVENTURES k cheers
The rotors are actually 180mm
Yes, I've been corrected on this 👍
Did it come with pedals
No
Bought mine back in January, but my dropper post is having problems. It wont go down into the tube without stopping it from locking out (still goes up and down when lever is all the way closed) do you have any ideas pls?
Its the stock brand x ascend dropper
Out of stock again, hoping they are back soon
Very soon!
VRX or Fuel EX 2021?
Is that the highest spec variant
Yes it is , the vrx model
Correct
Incredible value for money
Are there any shorter insert droppers that could work for this, I'm riding a small but have had the saddle cause issues a few times, hard to get back on the bike balanced if you dab on steep
One up dropper post
Nice review cheers
Just entered a giveaway for this bike, hope I win because I love the look of this bike
Fingers crossed ! Fantastic bike
Be completely honest with me. Have you ever ridden a bike so hard where you got the shock so hot you lost damping? I didn't think so
Eh?
Hi,
I'm struggling to mo what size mystique to order M or L I've been on the sizing chart & I am a bit of a crossover from M/ L. Can you give me some advice please? I'm 6ft with an inside leg of 31inch.
Cheers 👍👍
Ps... I am a newbie 🤷♂️
Hey Matthew, if I were in your shoes, I'd 100% look at going for the large over the medium - especially if you're 6ft tall. If you have any more questions, please let me know.
Here's the links to all three models too, for your quick reference:

Mythique VRS tidd.ly/2096a20c
Mythique VRX tidd.ly/34d668dc
@@wolfpack_adventures Thank you I was thinking the same but was 100%. Its all new to me 🤣. The problem now is getting the bike, they are sold out. Thanks again, must appreciated.
Matt.
Hey Matt, check Vitus Facebook or Instagram, they just shared a post about when you can expect bikes back in stock 🤟
@@wolfpack_adventures Thanks for the info, great stuff!!
Sick
dropper is 150mm on L and XL frames...
Does anyone know if this bike is available in Canada?
It's a direct to consumer brand. So buy off Chain Reaction Cycles, or Wiggle. The bike will be shipped from the UK.
Just had the lowest tier VR shipped to me in Alberta. Got screwed at customs paying close to $300 tho
@Colinator4321 thanks for the info!
i thought of buying but 2021 Edition looks trash so i go with sommet
Ah.... Nice 🙄
Hasn't been in stock for about, forever.
Which is a shame.
umm... 180mm rotors are spec.
Stil expensive ,for the price o 500 more you get s fuel trek or better yet the spectral or the neuron
*Sigh*....your input on suspension is sooooo off base...simple works if everyone weighs the same and rides the same. fail review
Are the tires tube less ?
Yes
