When Should You Use Canon Godox on Sony Cameras?

- Flashpoint and Godox flashes are great for your Sony. But there are times when I prefer my Canon version of the flash over my Sony version. We discuss why.

Hey I've got a Sony camera and a sony light but I wanted to let a friend use my lights. Is there a trigger adapter that I could get for his cannon hot shoe that would work on my sony specific trigger
@@thesisunator5294 You'd have to get a Canon trigger. But it's cool, because I use the Canon trigger on the Sony all the time. It's shoe is more robust and metal.
what about the small pins of the sony hot shoe, they have not been damaged by other flashes such as the canon mount flash???? thankyou hope you reply @Ogonzilla

incompatible or turned off so it doesn't fire when i press the buton to take a pic
If you don't use TTL, how did you get those great event photos that you showed at the end of this video? You just pre-adjusted your flash to a particular, pre-testeed manual power setting for the entire room?
Do you have Godox for Fuji? Could you test if HHS work on Sony camera? And also does the Godox flash for Canon support HHS on Sony or Fuji cameras? Cause when i use my Godox flash (Sony version) with a Fuji trigger on Fuji XT20, the HHS doesnt seem to work.

Hello. I come from Vietnam. I have been following you for a long time and really love and appreciate the values you bring. In the above problem, I used godox sony flash and A74, I tried the feature (Exposure setting only) and got the same result as if you use canon flash on sony. what do you think. Wow I didn't know that about Sony flash. Remember the funky inverted looking hot shoe Sony had? While they went with a standard shoe later, it seems just as bad when it comes to the contacts design. You gave me another reason why not to buy Sony.

I've used my Olympus flash on my Fujifilm HS20 because auto mode works good. Does Godox have auto mode? I feel like UA-camrs either talk about TTL or manual. In my opinion, auto is such an easier alternative to use than manual if you don't have TTL available. You just have to remember to adjust your f/stop to what is set on your camera as your shooting. I usually keep my ISO locked about 400 unless the area I am lighting up is very large area or I need fast burst of shots with flash, then I will bump it up to 1600 ISO.

i do have a question though.. can i use the Sony trigger for sony A7c to fire the canon flash and use the etl mode. ?

And does it work with a Godox S transmitter and the AD200 too?
The triggers will act exactly as do the flashes. I use my Canon Godox trigger except when shooting HSS.
I'm lost when it comes to flash. I've never used it before, but I would like to figure out how to properly expose while using flash. Not knowing keeps me away from it.
It's not too hard once you start experimenting.

Yes it works, that’s how I used my godox canon flash with my Sony. Didn’t know this hack that it will mount on the hot shoe and trigger

Wait wait wait. Little late to the party. So you mean with my godox canon flash. I can use it on my Sony camera and it will trigger the flash? I mean I don’t care about hss or ttl. But I have Sony camera and a speed light godox tt685 for canon
HAHAHAHAH never getting any trouble with the live view, because i use the canon flash all the time 😂😂
The only trouble i got from using canon flash is the hotshoe mount, it's a bitt stuck for me to slide the flash in the hotshoe

Nice vid. Is it me or Godox and Fujifilm are inconsistent with TTL. I find that Godox line of flashes never seems to work 100% on Fuji 🤷🏻♂️.
I shoot mostly available light with Fuji but the v1 I tested worked ok. Buy I'm not a Ttl shooter.
Blame the Fuji, its TTL metering doesn't take flash output into account, no one does flash/ambient as nice as Canon.
