I feel like MHA being hated so much all comes down to people thinking it feels like a kids show, since it's not super dark and is very positive and actually about heroism. Many people don't want to associate themselves with the show, since they think it's the same as if they told people that they enjoy a show for little kids. Despite the fact that in reality there is so much good about MHA, and it really doesn't deserve the hate, nor does it have to be dark and edgy to be mature.
That being said it's also not the best thing ever and has plenty of flaws, but it's still a good show. I think people recently are starting to come around to it again, now that we've had many darker anime and manga in recent years, so people are now gravitating back to shows that are more upbeat again.
I don’t get that tbh, the show may not be as dark or bloody as JJK but like once you consider most of the villain’s backstory’s it’s like very messed up
@@montserratmarroquin400 remember, people who hate on mha only watch like up to season 1 so they never get to the derker parts of mha
2016-2017 was a depressing year for myself. The world seemed more negative and some pivotal points in my life were about to happen. MHA at that time was the show I needed, to feel inspired and positive about my future along with everyone else's.
Despite it having some dips over the seasons. Despite everyone saying it's fallen off and not worth watching. It continues to be that show for me.
I am also tired of pretending that this show cannot be enjoyable. So I shall continue to enjoy it.
@hunterharmak 🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡That was amazing, actually. MHA will and stay as the new gen anime, and nobody can say it isn't.
Mha is peak and it inspired me to be nice, and help people like deku. Thanks for standing up for mha even tho other people can't.❤❤
@JosephHutton-v7d mha inspired me to express myself more and the thing I loved. Ty mha
I love MHA
Having to deal with ppl crying "DEKU CRIES TOO MUCH" "BUH BUBHUBUT THE FANBASE" for like the past 8 years has been so damn tiring
The there's me who like mha because of both Deku crying and the fanbase.
They call deku a "cry baby" but don't give zenitsu the same energy.
@@sagemaster1357 SO TRUE! Zenitsu is a crybaby cause that's the way he is. Deku is a crybaby only when it's necessary.
The "Deku is a crybaby" complaint completely misses the context. MHA moreor less takes place across 2 years. The 1st year is rushed through during the the Beach cleaning montage when Deku was a Middle Schooler. It's over in the first 2 episodes. Back then Deku was constantly bullied by Bakugo, and he was a pre-teen. He wasn't even melodramatic, just an extremely timid kid. He gets over that after meeting All Might and cleaning the beach for 10 straight months. Across the rest of the series he only grows more confident and sure of himself. He doesn't pity himself, he doesn't whine, and he doesn't give up. Most of his tears afterwards are tears of joy, and we see less and less of it as he matures.
I almost wonder if the people who complain about Deku being a "crybaby" stopped watching after episode 1.
Because it's almost like someone calling Calling Tanjiro a crybaby because they saw him grieving over his family in episode 1 of Demon Slayer.
"DEKU CRIES AND CRIES!!" - Says the crying viewer.
The anime started when I was in middle school. I was the target demographic and it was like my favorite thing ever. I wore MHA shirts to school and everything even though some people bullied me for liking anime and stuff which led me to quit playing basketball when I got to highschool because it got too much. Even now i still love this series and am excited for the final season even though I also read the manga. The hate on this series due to a very loud minority of "fans" saddens me and is incredibly unfair. I hope people one day will look at it through an unbiased lense and give it a chance.
I'm so sorry that happened to you. People are assholes. I really hope that didn't stop you from fully enjoying MHA and other manga/anime. And I agree, I really hope the haters eventually experience MHA in its entirety and give it a fair shot instead of agreeing with the minority or "majority".
Most people do like this series, a small minority are just contrarians for no good reason
My Hero was my first anime, which my teacher introduced to me. Since I was getting older and more mature, and especially since I loved watching cartoons, he introduced MHA to me. At first, I couldn't watch it since Netflix didn't have it. But eventually, I got an opportunity to watch the show (via piracy), and I was hooked.
Back then, season 5 had finished airing and I was far behind. I clicked and watched the first episode, and I loved every single bit of it. I craved more, so I watched more. Every episode rarely missed, I was either giggling from the light hearted stuff or on the edge of my seat on the hype stuff. Sure, there were some misses here and there. But did it take apart the overall experience? Defo no.
I'm glad I stuck with the anime. Season 7 is definitely my favorite season of MHA, and I'm ready for S8 to exceed my expectations.
W teacher
Sorry if this seems a bit too personal, but how does a teacher introduce you to an anime.
"All right students, class is dismissed. Also, watch My Hero Academia, It's peak."
@@helloiamnotabot1845 Lol, nah I just constantly go to talk to him. Every day after class I always go to his office and chat with him. So eventually he told me about the show.
@@thegoldenapplebryanwu6816 Teachers are so real for that - I love when they're able to be personable with you. Like, I had this one teacher who I had for over half of my classes that semester. Second day into that semester and he legit went "at this point I should just put you on my taxes and sign the adoption papers" 😂. I also have a late assignment extension named after me in his class now because of him😅 he was an icon and teachers should aspire to be relatable and welcoming to all their students.
W teacher
honestly as an mha fan I find it stressful to even talk about mha in front of people, the hate and the discrimination just kinda hurts.. whenever they ask "whats your favorite anime" I always say demon slayer or opm, I lie to them cause I don't want them to think I'm weird... of course this is irl, online I'm fine to say what i'd like but still, I've just lost my confidence when I had to move away from my friends.. they personally liked mha too, so we shared something together, when I left I felt alone, or just an odd ball, people in my P.E. class started making fun of mha, yadda yadda, which made me feel uncomfortable, what I'm trying to say or my point is that, the hate MHA gets actually effects people socially and mentally, people should let people enjoy what they watch, without the hate, of course its not an anime without haters but.. mha just feels targeted...
@Dragoomy_
Lemme be real, most people do love this series, it's just that a small minority of people want to be assholes and ruin things or try, but they're a minority.
Think about this quote: if the situation was hopeless then their propaganda would be unnecessary.
That is to say that if the anime was genuinely that bad, it'd be wholly condemned instead of people repeatedly saying it is bad.
So don't mistake these assholes for the minority, they're not worth your time. Most people are good, I promise.
People not getting MHA is like people not getting Superman, the idea of selfless heroism is so alien to these self-absorbed narcissists (usually found on Reddit/Twitter) who have allowed themselves to become so jaded by the world that they simply refuse to even entertain the idea of altruism, true heroism.
Me seeing the truth may come from my "sheltered" Catholic upbringing, but I just like good stories about good people.
Even if the ending wasn't what we wanted. (Especially that botched main romance, damn shonen manga curse)
After chapter 429 it really surprised me it was left ambiguous, truly a Naruhina moment if I ever saw one... although that one got a movie later on to rectify it. If MHA ever gets any form of sequel-like story, it will most likely be 'confirmed', but it was a rather disappointing plotpoint to leave ambiguously like that.
@@sonny167349 preach!
Greatly put
Just said it all, man
All Might is one of the most heroic figures to grace the screens.
Especially in the age were western media is trying it best to destroy heroism.
Just because the anime you watch is dark does not make it good. And you're right because people have this idea that a show having dark themes can make a great show.
What makes a great show is having well-written characters and stories.
yea mha did have that until the end of season 6 where it kinda just fell apart
@sagemaster1357
Doesn't make it bad either
MHA is going through what I like to call. The Naruto effect. Back when Naruto was new or in its prime, it was constantly, and I mean, constantly shat on for many different reasons. From animation to filler, to plot holes, and believe it or not, the ending (which looking back is insane because Naruto ending is like the safest anime ending i can think of) and of course the biggest reason that nobody ever admitted was that Naruto was and still is insanely popular and successful. Naruto still gets some little hate, but it's nowhere near the level it was back then because Naruto has ended. The manga ended in 2014, and the anime in 2017, which coincidentally those are the same years MHA started airing (well, mha s2 aired in 2017, s1 was 2016, but s2 made it mainstream). Give it time by the next decade. MHA hate will be far less frequent.
Shippuden is mid, the only good part was the pain arc and sasuke
@Room_Law thank you, for proving my point 😊
@@jcg7609 *for
AOT hate rised because of the ending too lol
Basically, old thing good, new thing bad. Same is happening for other new gen animes like demon slayer.
i'm okay with the Deku Mcdonalds jokes, i only hate when people unironically believe them and use them as a reason the show is bad.
If you're an MHA fan you definitely seen serious comments saying "MHA is bad because Deku ends up working at McDonalds! Freaking MCDONALDS!!"
like bro those are just memes, calm down.
Love seeing MHA fans with common sense
Hearing you say this feels like a breath of fresh air
The hate has been forced for years
“I’m sick of pretending MHA is a bad show” LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK! 🗣️🗣️🗣️
The thing about my hero, is I think that it has so much depth that it leads people into believing that it’s a one dimensional show. but just- the amount of care taken with every single character and story arc is incredible. The complexity of the storyline, what it comments on, Deku as a main character. people don’t understand, and it’s also why people who hate complex characters like Bakugo and Hawks just make me sad, because it’s like they don’t see the bigger picture behind any of the characters and only choose to take them at face value eg. “Uraraka is only Deku’s love interest” “Todoroki is only there for fanservice” etc. which will always make my hero academia unenjoyable for them. and there’s nothing we can do. I can only feel sorry for those who fundamentally missed the concept of it
People who hate Bakugo for bullying Deku are absolutely insufferable, like bro we’re on S7, that happened in S1 💀
I’m not saying you have to like that part of Bakugo but he has grown so much and the people who get their boots shaken are hilarious because they act just like them when you correct them
The MHA hate is definitely unreasonable but still understandable. Most of the haters I've met till now only complain about the fan base, not a single thing about the story. And I'm gonna be completely honest here, Studio Bones butches the anime to at least some extent. The story, pacing and art in manga are way better portrayed compared to the anime.
Dunno about the best, but it sure is my favourite out of all the new gens. And if "new gen big three" were to be a thing, MHA surely will be one of em.
Agreed, MHA is the best if we're comparing it to DS, JK, CM, KJ#8 and other modern shonen and that's how I've always felt, so naturally, I could never comprehend how anyone could pretend those series were far superior overall. Now to be fair, yes, obviously, MHA isn't the absolute greatest manga/anime of all time (and neither are those others previously mentioned), but it's a DAMN great series and a modern classic - perhaps the BEST if we're comparing it to other mainstream shonen series - that will certainly be influential and enjoyed and remembered for decades to come. Like you, I've noticed that the haters only seem to highlight the "fanbase" and absolutely nothing about the series quality on its own, which is extremely unfair to Horikoshi, Studio Bones and the true fanbase.
It's unreasonable to hate on the anime just cuz of the fanbase tho
@@ZhanMing-v5w if anything is popular, people are gonna hate on it. That's just how it is. And MHA is completely different from all the other modern mainstream shounens like ds, csm, jjk, KJ#8. These are currently the most popular anime and what do they all have in common? Dark themed demon/monster vs human race. So it's natural that the most unique one of em will get all the combined hate
people don't understand My Hero. They talk about seasons 3&4 being "boring" when in fact the story is steadily building and carving itself into something more intricate. They want nothing but *ACTION, ACTION, RANDOM PLOT TWIST* and that's simply not what My Hero is.
season 3 was the good part ???
They should do what he said here 0:47
People essentially want MHA to be like JJK, constant fights with little emotional moments with little to no buildup
This people lack the comprehension skill for deep arcs so they just assume it’s bad.
I call these types of people trendies. People only think about what is trending instead of getting their own thoughts on anime. There's always a bias for some reason. And MHA is a piece of work a lot of trendies are missing out on. Because some people online said the show is boring and the Fandom weird, but isn't another Fandom out there also have that side and then just watch another show. Dont hate on an anime fan who likes an anime??? (Also, MHA is not just some anime it's amazing. that's just how I feel)
Also, same Nic, I do have an attachment to my hero like you do, and I can talk about it for hours. But a lot of people and new are anime fans are olny seeing what others say instead of experiencing it themselves. And I believe one day MHA will get its recognition once again, and people will stop hating on it because that's what trends say... also HUH! How can people not tell how there's different storytelling in every manga. JJK and chainsaw man, kind of popularized this type of feel in the story. But KNY and MHA have wholesome and action with depth and epicness. But nah JJK is better cuz it has good animation (also me love jjk) but that's not what makes the anime whole there also need to be a story and enjoyed not olny liked cuz of one or two things. JJk, MHA, and KNY have those things in their own way and world, and that's what makes anime as a whole amazing♡
Well said, I completely agree. I strongly believe MHA will get a fair shot and SOON, because people won't be able to blindly make fun of it anymore. Why? Because it's practically over and that will be official once season 8 ends next year, leaving the haters with nothing to target anymore and force them to either leave it alone and mock the next popular shonen series or...watch and read it themselves in its entirety to see if it was worth all of their vitriol in the first place
@@SpiderGuy325 Preach it!!!🤝
I agree with the fact that it became popular to hate on it, the amount of negative reviews is insane, and worst is that 95% criticism is the same lame ass thing that’s either common sense, don’t stop the show on S3 or mid opinions
MHA is boring, has no depth no emotion
Deku bad, should have stayed quirkless
Bakugo a bad bully who doesn’t get consequences
It’s a kids show
The fandom is so toxic
The list is infinite
The ending of the series is super satisfying, despite the final chapter rushed through a bit, but it's good as Horikoshi represented (the anime might flesh it out)
So true man. That's the same thing I keep telling people.
Mha is my favourite anime and every time I say that people act like I shot their grandma, it’s insane. When someone acts like that, don’t be defensive or embarrassed, just double down and ask them “what’s wrong with mha?” Because most of the time people don’t even have an actual reason why they hate the show, they’re just bandwagoning over other people’s opinions.
If they say “I don’t like it cause *insert reason here*” that’s fine, but 9/10 of the time it’s always “But the fandom-“ I don’t care about the fandom, I care about the anime. If your favourite anime had a bad fanbase does that mean it’s no longer your favourite anime?
Why would you let other people prevent you from enjoying a show you want to watch, or change your opinion on a show when you never watched it? Mha taught me that I don’t want to be friends with people who would make fun of me for something that makes me happy, as long as I’m not hurting anyone it’s not a big deal in my book 🤷 season 7 was my favourite, after season 3 mha keeps getting better, besides one piece, mha was/is a big part of my childhood, I’ve re-watched it with many different friends over the years, even if I’m not friends with some of them, I’ve gotten a lot of memories and it’s enjoyable to watch it with people you like.
I’m definitely still going to keep up with the anime regardless of anyone who wants to say it’s “cringe” or “weird”, I enjoy it, so I want to keep going until the end of the anime :)
My Hero Academia got that weird treatment where it just became... 'trendy' to trashtalk it ? Like it was the popular thing to do so people would simply 'do it'. I can understand people not being pleased with certain aspects of it, but many of the 'reasons' for the intense hate are things that make me question if these people ever really liked MHA from the start.
It wasn't perfect, neither the anime nor the manga, but honestly MHA never really stopped being MHA to me even by the end of it, the main message of heroism was there and kept being there 'till the end. For whatever reason these people who love to trashtalk things seem to think you can only have polarized views for the show, either hate it completely or love it unconditionally.
Even with it's flaws MHA continues to be amongst my favorite shows, and my favorite hero story. Season 7 showed what makes MHA special too.
But it doesn't have that many flaws to begin with
MHA was okayish for me until it wasn't. Now it's peak for me, I absolutely love this show, the character development is actually there irrespective of leads or not. And this forced hate on an anime like this shows how much social media can affect your psyche where you are incapacitated to make your own decisions. Honestly MHA was the self-aware anime before JJK.
People hate it because they want it to be something MHA never was. Now it's trending for shonens to be dark, extra violent, with fast pacing and a lot of dead characters, but MHA was never that and the manga started 10 years ago. It's not fair to say it sucks because it's not dark or not enough characters get killed.
The series' message is extremely consistent and it's optimistic and about change and redemption, about true altruism. But people see it as childish and stupid (+ they totally misunderstood the ending). It's just very funny to me JJK fans have been laughing at MHA for years at this point because "Hori has no balls to kill characters" and "it's mickey mouse academia" and then they too got a rushed Disney ending with half resurrected characters and still whined about some others that stayed dead. It's so ironic and I say it as a fan of both series
As a JJK fan, I don’t get the constant need to kill characters, plus the double standards are crazy
SPOILERS
People clowning Bakugo’s death because he got resurrected but cheeeing when Nobara was brought back is so laughable, same with people wanting Gojo back
Hot take but Nobara’s death was only impactful because of Yuji, we never got much backstory on Nobara and personally even if Bakugo was brought back his death was more impactful
MHA hate is also followed. Most people probably haven’t even watched it and they only hate it just because other people hate it. And I’m somewhat afraid of telling other people that mha is actually my favorite anime. Because they would most likely assume that I ship Deku with todoroki. (I don’t do that btw. I am a NORMAL mha fan) but overall, I wish mha would get more respect someday.
@Afropeashooter30
Think about it like this man, if many people hate it, whys it so successful? It don't add up.
@@sgtaveryjohnson3803I wouldn’t say that’s a good point, a series can be umm not the best and still get popular (Cough JJK)
Not with MHA tho.
Even shipping isn’t that bad tho, you can like a pairing and that’s ok, I’m a BKDK fan
I don’t push it down people’s throat, nor do I doxx, nor do I expect it to be canon, nor do I dislike Izuocha
Shipping is fun, sometimes people take it too far but like it’s legit just fun.
I’ve been saying this! The hate this series gets is insanely unwarranted and most of the hate and the idea that the series is “cringe” is all cause of the fandom, even though the fandom has zero impact on the series whatsoever. The show with its characters, story, themes, messages, OST,…deserves so much more credit, then the hate it gets.
I also don’t understand the comparison between MHA and JJK. Like you said, MHA is a more optimistic, light hearted and hopeful battle Shounen, while JJK is more of a darker, nihilistic side of doom and gloom series that also happens to be a battle Shounen. Like yea, they’re both battle shounens, but they are literally the complete opposite of one another. It’s like comparing The Batman (2022) and the Penguin series, to the Spider-Verse films for some reason just cause they both happen to be superhero related media despite being complete opposites of one another.
Overall, MHA isn’t overrated. I mean hey, if it’s not for you then that’s fine, all types of media will impact us differently. But holy crap, is it certainly overhated.
It’s worse when people bring JJK into the board just to downplay MHA
Personally JJK is really overrated, it has amazing animation and soundtrack don’t get me wrong
But the characters and the worldbuilding are just really shallow and some barely have anything (Cough Nobara Cough).
The sad thing is, you could have seen this becoming the case the moment MHA started. They where glazing it as the next Naruto and we know how easily Naruto fans turned on it the moment a dude who never watched the show started talking out of his ass. People deciding to hate MHA just because it was completely expected.
MHA 🤝 Fairy Tail
Great anime that got hate for BS reasons.
MHA gets hate for no reason the show ain't even bad it's the fan base why does the show have to pay for the fan bases mistake
Real talk im tired of the damn hate like we get it has some bad moments and the ending isn't what the fans wanted but bro we all had a good run with it and the ending aint that bad

@@Denm_a he could have gotten that armor suit a good bit sooner so that he could have been a hero earlier and set up for something else

ehhh the story...was good
People not getting MHA is like people not getting Spiderman. A world where everyone do the hero job for money not for being the sake of hero, there this hero comes Deku as well as Spiderman who go out to their way to help and save people despite dealing with hate from the people. Where Spiderman curse himself for why he get this power and Deku got a power which put his own life in danger after using it. But still wakes up and say "nah man they need me" both of them helps people despite the odds or any fame, really tells both of them "dont need to save the people, they want to save the people".
Im not mha's biggest fan but the reaction to the ending felt so overblown.
@@jmann531 The ending wasn’t even that bad, the McDonald’s memes are funny but like Deku losing his quirk gives off a nice bit of tragedy, plus it brings us back to the beginning, just that this time Deku can be a hero
Besides it doesn’t contradict the whole "This is the story of how I became the number one hero" because at the end of the day it’s true? Just because All Might isn’t in his prime anymore doesn’t mean he wasn’t the greatest hero at one point.
I don't really get why people care about fandoms if they don't engage with them. Enjoy the show bro (not you, I mean in general)
The ending was phenomenal and I refuse to say anything else. Fine, you didn't get your ships, you didn't get what you wanted. But I have something about where Deku narrates the story from, as in, what point in time
Obviously im about to get into manga spoilers so if you dont want them stop reading
Okay, so. Midoriya says season one, "This is how I became the world's greatest hero" and everyone gets upset because after the eight-year time skip, adult midoriya says "this is how we ALL became the world's greatest heroes" but everyone is forgetting that before Allmight snatches the "The End" card, Midoriya at the beginning of his second year DOES repeat the line from season one. I think that 2A Midoriya timeline is who narrates the manga and anime, NOT the Teacher Midoriya timeline. And I think its great, because it shows that over those next few years, his perspective on heroes is STILL changing and he's STILL growing and maturing, and he realizes that Oh wait-- being a hero isn't about being a famous person, its about taking that step to help others even when its not gonna help you-- ESPECIALLY when its not going to help you. And that's what Deku is all about. And I hate that so many people don't understand that.
Guys, you think the opinions of haters matter when they haven't watched the show past season 3 😹
I remember going to Coles(Indigo basically) to look for my hero manga(because it’s my fav anime and HORIKOSHI’S ART IS BANGER WHATTTT), but of all the mangas they had, the super popular ones to some small ones, not a single my hero volume was there. My mom wanted to ask the staff if they sold some but I was too embarrassed. Looking back, why was I so embarrassed? We all are cringe cause we all watch anime and read manga, so why can’t I get excited about my hero the same way someone would about one piece or jujutsu kaisen?
Yeah, My Hero is still one of my favorite series out there. Genuinely great characters and storytelling, and it’s a massive shame that people don’t recognize that more often since it’s honestly pretty great.
I started watching this show in primary school and now I'm in university and still watching, it's been an honour 🫡👏🏽🔥,It saddens me how My Hero hate is so forced even though the story, characters and message are all incredible
You can't lie and say that there ISN'T anything wrong with mha, because there is stuff wrong with it.
One of things I hate about mha is that the base premise of the mha is pretty dark, but the story practically NEVER TOUCHES ANY OF IT.
Anything dark that does happens, either gets resolved as soon as it shows up or gets "swept under the rug" and forgotten about.
Knowing the context of the greater mha world, it feels like the story of mha is a facade.
Like it is going out of it's way to act and look far more happy go lucky than it actually is.
Heck the number one hero, had a policy of always having a forced smile on his face to convince people that the current situation is not as bad as it actually is.
The world of mha is pretty awful and very corrupt.
The story is trying very hard to not acknowledge it.
Now, this is a valid critique of the series itself. This is what we need, not mindless. 😎😎
@chasetanner4822
That's not actually the case
Exactly what me and my bro was talkn abt today finally someone who speaking up on the mha hate i been reading manga and watching anime my hole life and mha is amazing!
just watched all 7 seasons of the anime and read the rest in manga form in 8 days and it was one of the greatest journeys ever. black clover, jujutsu kaisen, and my hero academia are some of the best new gen manga, and could even be called the new big 3
if there was a new big 3 it would be them 100%
Idk, I really liked MHA for the reasons a lot of ppl hated it, so I hated the ending when it got a lot less optimistic. But it's often I dislike anime endings so oh well, back to One Piece.
I don’t feel like MHA’s ending was less optimistic at all, if anything it was more optimistic than anything else
Hey Nic! Totally agree-Season 7 is shaping up to be incredible! Bones is absolutely nailing the animation, and I can’t wait to see this arc fully brought to life.
And yeah, the JJK comparisons are tired. MHA stands out by focusing on heroes as a profession, diving into the complexities and challenges that come with it. It’s got its own unique vibe.
Deku and Bakugo get misjudged a lot, too. Their growth has been amazing-Deku’s wrestling with what being a hero truly means, and Bakugo’s finally confronting his own demons.
That said, I understand the criticism of tropes and side characters. Some arcs do lean on familiar shonen formulas, and the other students definitely deserve more focus.
I’m a bit nervous about the anime ending, though. The manga’s final arc felt rushed despite its powerful moments, hence the reason i don't rate it as highly. Here’s hoping the anime takes its time and delivers the emotional payoff it deserves!
I was on Twitch and (I'll leave them nameless) the streamer claimed that the point where he lost all interest was the cultural festival arc. Complained it was filler and all that. So I said: "Having something lighthearted to counterbalance a dark arc is actually good storytelling because it gives the reader/watcher a break from all of the doom and gloom," and someone replied that it wasn't even that dark of an arc. I was just like, hello??? Are you expecting Berserk levels of dark? Because something dark for one series can be VERY different than a dark moment in another series. S4 included child experimentation/abuse, and even had a first (relevant) major character death. For MHA, that IS dark; so the festival being placed after it is a perfect reprieve, and completes Eri's character arc.
I can't believe how many subtle messages are lost in this series due to the bad reading comprehension of the audience. It's like all some of these people wanted was 8 seasons of just punching and screaming, smh.
People who complain about MHA not being "dark" are people who have watched way too much JJK (can’t blame them but well) or have not seen Bakugo’s death, Shigaraki or Dabi’s backstory.
ill say this, fanbase doesnt define a show. Most of the hate stems from the SUPER cringe fanbase. My Hero itself is a masterpiece
Bro MHA is like in my top 5 anime’s and my hero academia vigilante is my 3rd favorite manga so I feel the same way like everyone I know says it’s trash because of the fanbase and never gives the sires a fair chance which sucks because it’s so good and horikoshi did so good it’s not fair how he was treated when the ending happened
I just started watching MHA a year ago, I loved it, it gave me Marvel and DC movie vibes, the story is good, the characters are good, and the show is good, IDC how much hate there is in the fandom, I'm a healthy MHA fan who doesn't overdose on Yaoi and Yuri whatsoever. and I'm in a MHA Panel at ace con next year, this has become my favorite Anime of all time ever since I watched it when it came to Netflix. and I Catch'd up with ALL of the seasons before the 7th season could finish, I'm only waiting for half of the dub to be finished, I'm going to see the new movie, I was dressed as All might in Tampa Bay comic con, and I made friends who love MHA, the haters can cry about it. I am here to say that I am a Proud and healthy MHA fan.
people asking where deku statue, while its freaking right there along with the other student, and then they said "its not big as all might"...they comparing tall buffed grown man with 15 years old is crazy to compared
The fanbase that people complain about is proof that BNHA characters are very iconic and likeable.
Some anime fans are so toxic. Most hate it because of the fandom which makes no sense because the fandom and the actual anime are two different things which so many people mix up.
MHA > JJK overall without a doubt in my mind.
Definitely
If Bones can refine the manga ending, it would be great. 😊😊
🗣🔥 🗣🔥 SAY IT FOR THE PEOPLE ON THE BACK!
@@fw.herotard Storytelling wise, yeah absolutely.
Personally it would be like this
Mha vs JJK
Animation-JJK
Worldbuilding-Mha
Characters- Both
Character development- Mha
Backstory’s- Mha
Powers- Both
Villains- Both (very close tho)
Crushes your soul-JJK
Gojo-JJK
I wouldn’t personally say I like MHA more than JJK but they both have different segments that I like more than the other.
Edit: so uh I may or may not have changed my mind and well I do like MHA more than JJK
The list stays the same apart from the villains
Villains-MHA.
this right here 😭I did drop mha but mainly because I fell out of love for the show, but seeing all the hate is just insane to me 💀💀
Its a good show but ngl it can be really cringe at times and I don't blame people for thinking its weird
I have many problems with my hero. I believe a lot of the hate comes from some of the writing decisions (some of which I agree with), the inconsistent animating for majority of the seasons, and people not wanting to associate with the “fandom” (which that last bit kinda applies to all anime but understandable ig)
I don’t hate it and I really like some of what it’s trying to do. Almight is one of my favorite characters in fiction. Endeavors whole arc is honestly really good. However I just don’t like what they did with many beats of the story, and personally I don’t agree with many writing decisions made for deku. That being said, it’s not my story to tell. If people like it, then something’s working ig
No cuz this show genuinely got me through a tough year and it’s still is something I look forward to the episodes coming out (I’m waiting for it to be done :3 before I binge watch the entire season )
I first watched it in 2018 and it genuinely changed my life. Yeah, there's a few weird fans and deku cried too much in the first few episodes, but if you actually look at it for it's potential, you will understand how wonderful the story is!
Deku WAS a crybaby. Now he isnt.
Let's be honest, most of us would be crybabies in his situation too.
I acc love mha season 5 and it has my fav episode ep season 5 episode 12
I think people are just scared of beimg clumped in with the cringe fandom. MHA is probs one of my fav anime (haikyuu stills wins😌🤚) but the fandom really ruins it😭
No joke, the fandom does ruin it 💀
The reason people hate MHA is bcz of the fanbase trying to ship bakugo and izuku which is weird. Mha is a masterpiece and i love not the shippers.
Why is it weird lol?.
@montserratmarroquin400 exactly U prove my point
@@Faizysama Ok, but you haven’t proven mine
Who is your favorite character?
Easily Deku
Imma go for Denki.
Same thing with me, i enjoy it and i like it because of the story and character development for each character yet somehow my friends say im fruity and a tweaky lil gay guy for enjoying an anime and they always say "JJK better" like i get it you enjoy it and they hit me with the "deku's a gay boy" or "oh you love a gay anime" all because of the fucking Fandom
Let me just say: most people genuinely love mha. Otherwise why wouldn't it be so successful? Think on that 🤔
Gee Akutami stated that without mha jjk wouldn't exist
I use to think mha was cringe because of the fandom but watching it has been a whole different experience than what the people say about it
clicked because I agree with the title, but damn I got whiplash when you put it in SS like that is WILD
I'm biased in terms of my anime favorites since I haven't watched most of the popular animes out there like JJK, AoT, One Piece, Dragonball, etc. The ones I have watched is Spy x Family season 1, SAO, Dangers of My Heart, Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian and of course, My Hero Academia, so I'm a bit out of the loop in terms of what other animes offer. MHA was the first anime i've ever watched and I love it a lot, when I first watched it, I was going through a lot of stuff and it helped me get through it and get my mind off things and I'm very grateful for that, so it is my favorite anime as of late. But what turns people away a lot from the show is the fandom, let's not sugarcoat it, it is terrible. Even I hate it a lot, especially how they treat Midoriya's english dub's VA. Another thing that people tend to complain about in the show is amount of monologuing the show has, especially during fights. If I'm honest, the fights are a lot longer than they need to be due to the amount of monologuing and me personally, idm it since it gives the fights meaning and emotional background. But I can understand why people don't like it that much. All that aside, I can't wait for season 8 and the end of an amazing anime and show, TOHO and Bones did a great job with this project and I look forward to their future projects after MHA!
OMG BBRO ACTUALLY TY FOR DAT I NEED TO SHOW DIS TO MY FREIND HE BE LIEK. OMG MHAS SO BORING WHY DONT U JUST MARRY IT ADDICTED BOY TOO ITS NOT EVEN BLOODY AT ALL KIDS SHOW ITS NOT LIKE MY DEMON SLAYER AT ALL🤓 liek dealing with that with like everybody is just too damb fckin crazy
The hate is understandable, given there's communities like BNHA_OC characters on reddit, which are terrible for fans to interact with. Toxic owner that bans people for zero reason, allowing AI art, weird around minors, etc etc.
Honestly MHA is great when you ignore the fandom
@@nicwithnok Hard agree with you there! There only seems to be one decent place for the fandom and that's the MHA discord server with over 100k members. They at least ban toxic community members. The rest of the fandom sucks so bad.
Agreed but I say the same about seven deadly sins.
It really is
i watch mha for a long time when season 6 was out but season 7 just was the best my friends where like "mha sucks" yap yap yap yap yap yap yap yap yap and im like no it is very good do back watching other stuff and i watch it and if mha didnt have season 7 it wouldnt be good but season 7 is just wow nothing and i mean nothing in anime nothing cant beat mha its just so good and my friends can be haterws but i love it to the very last of my life\
When it comes to jjk, I feel like they try to one up Naruto and bleach as much as possible, but just like demon slayer it fell flat. The only character i liked and especially story was yuta okkotsu after the jjk 0 movie, mind you the only thing i watched. I watched clips of the main show and i honestly find gojo like a mix of might guy plus kakashi but very annoying, also way too op, especially sukuna surprised the madara wannabe had to be tag teamed only for the series to pull a kaguya and sukuna returns, except no genjutsu. The only thing that felt out nowhere was after itadori's mom died, bleach, Naruto, and black clover; her brain was swapped by the madara copy and was being banged by yuji's dad like what😂 this truly predated yhwach from tybw but in the worst way possible. Also turns sukuna into the final battle of IT 2 movie where he gets turned into a puddle🤦 Also just like Fairy Tail, with the power of friendship, everybody lives. Honestly should have kept nobara dead and kill yuji on top of since he wasn't all that, i mean at least he wasn't no Zenitsu I'll give him that but still; also has a tall hot girlfriend, meh🙄 JJk is uhhhh. Also Yuta okkotsu was meant to be the mc since day one.
The movie is way better than it's actual series, i said it😎
Bro spit facts for 5 minutes
I love MHA, it’ll always be my favorite anime and remembered in my heart. I hate how a few bad apples led to this…
@C-View1
Don't ever think like that, most people do genuinely love this series
It's just a tiny minority of contrarians who hate the show
You didn’t talk about the dark deku arc, but yeah, it’s great.
saying my hero is as good as love is war
is just not it bro love is war is a 10/10
mha is a solid 8.5/10 but the characters were just rushed like everything that happend with deku
just all ended with but my friends are with me so its ok at the end of s6 and it kinda felt eh
at the time i was loving it but now while watching season 7 i just dont care all my care for the characters and story died after Spoiler!!!
bakugo died and then after gear shift all my care just vanished not sure why but it did
Zenitsu is annoying and not as bad as Asta. Asta is better than tanjiro and actually feels more real even though demon slayer is set in realistic setting but with powers, black clover powers are magic. I actually prefer black clover more then fairy tail except for Zeref and the family dynamic between Natsu Gray and Erza. Fairy tail just falls into the generic shonen trope and just overdose it more and more, plus it was too wacky l, felt like one piece but worse and i like one piece. Oh and don't get me started on the consistent fan service. At least Noelle feels like an actual good female mc unlike Lucy who's annoying and is always the damsel in distress, yet has the most powerful weapon in universe. At least in Rave Master, Ellie even with her tonfas that also shoot bullets was useful, prefer that series over fairy tail as well. Even in crossover ova they're slightly more superior. Glad they also had levy and gajeel as an actual couple with a kid, tip toeing the romance when it was there the whole time. Wendy finally growing up and getting older is also great. Don't like lucy as a potential, i might actually like the Wendy ship more sure they see themselves as siblings but could have worked, they give me kazuma and megumin vibes. But the best is lisanna even though they retcon their relationship as a memory wipe. Erza and jellal I'm glad became a thing alongside gray and juvia, both couples are actually good too. Mainly Gruvia best in my opinion.
Tbh i love mha but the only problem i have with it are...those fans. There are fans that generally act normal about it. But then you have those other fans that kinda just make the community..bad
Does anyone know where he ended up ranking AOT?
Anything under SS is unacceptable.
I don’t believe he ranked AoT at all
@Pr0jektSo4p I did, it’s just later in the stream
@@nicwithnok Oh, Sorry bout that.
I have a question for MHA fans:What are some differences and similarities between MHA and an anime like Black Clover?
Both MC work really hard to get to where they are and we constantly see them train.
Deku 🤝 Asta
Bro deku is a crybaby so what? We all cry🌚
My hero academia is my favourite anime. But almost putting it at s tier with demon slayer is a no go for me.
I'd say it's definitely in a solid A+ tier objectively speaking
@sgtaveryjohnson3803 agreed because although it's a good series, the pacing and organisation of some scenes kinda kills the flow, both in the anime and in the manga. Still, it's leaps and bounds ahead of demon slayer, a series that i enjoyed but i wouldn't say is top tier
It's not my favorite show, not in my top 5 either, but it's still a really good show.
Can I ask why is season 6 is worse in the anime? I haven't read that part of manga yet because im waiting for a second box set, so I can't compare it. But I love season 6 it's my second favorite. 7 being my favorite, and third is season 3
A Viz Media/Shōnen Jump subscription is only like $2 a month. A physical copy only reader? (Not at all hating cuz I also like reading physical but read digital as well to be up to date, just curious lol)
@see.you.space.cowboy03 I know it's cheap it's just not my preference I rather wait for box sets.
Just like he said, the consistency of the quality in S6 is not really good with how they couldn't manage which contents should be prioritized more from one to another
Production wise, Season 6 had the strongest start out of all the seasons but they couldn't really maintain that quality towards the halfway point. The Deku vs Shigaraki fight especially is considered to be sub-par in animation, though it did have its moments.
Add to that the fact that the First War arc is generally considered to be one of My Hero's best and a pivotal moment in the story meant the anime struggled to live up to expectations. Horikoshi's amazing art in the manga didn't really help the issue, either.
@@Rensuke_Hero-gami quality was goo
My dude, My Hero is my modern shonen, Not that don't like other but. It been one obsessive most on. It's one I rant most about but that because I love it too much. All battle shonen have faults in story. When come battle shonen, One Piece is my top. Full Metal Alchemist, Hunter x Hunter, and YuYu Hakusho are soild classic and good story. Dragon Ball never been fav, it entertaining and I think influent it had is important to history of industry. I've not watch jojo's bizarre adventure or fist north star, but same as dragon ball are important influence. There a lot shonen are mid like fairy tail and bad like seven deadly sin, out there. Bleach lost me and i drop it. I never got into Naruto. For modern era. I think Attack on Titan and One Punch Man are pretty good. Mob Psycho 100 is a great story. I love Jujutsu Kaisen, but I think Chainsaw Man is better. I'm not done with either since I decide be anime first on both. I be honest I not demon stayer fan, I think series had good moment with end of demons. Then really entertainment district arc is high for me and the fight arc through anime may one best in industry. They actual give more true 3d to that fight, most can never hope for. I also appreciate effect demon slayer has on industry, I know One piece and jjk not be what they are now with out it. But overall looking back demon slayer is character and story are this mid. I like it but do not love it. I'm big Kaiju No.8 fan. So rank I go One Piece, Mob Psycho 100, My Hero, Hunter x Hunter, Chainsaw Man, Kaiju No.8, One Punch Man, JJK, Full Metal Alchemist, Attack on Titan, YuYu Hakusho, Demon Slayer's entertainment district arc(only) and dragon ball. Everything is either i not seen or did not think was that good.
My Hero is way better than JJK lol
i think that mha was good
THE ENDING WAS KINDA MID in my opinion
plus i dont care for the fandom its just a seperate dimnension from whats accually in the anime and manga
BTW WHY DID MONOMA GET A BIG STATUE WHEN DEKU DIDNT like todoroki,Monoma and bakugo got their seperate statues but deku got only the group statue
Hold up WAIT WHAT
There’s no way deku got the group statue
@@Dark_lalyng he did
ending was not mid
@@gamerbeast3616any things hapoend bcs people were just DUMBASSES
Ye ending was written good itself
But its build up COULD USE SOME IMPROVEMENT
most of the reasons why mha is hated are dumb but
the show aint perfect i think the characters writting could be alot better the animation is great for the most part
but if i was making a top 10 anime of all time it would not be there or even in a top 30 or maybe 50 it could be there
one thing i dont get it why people hate deku soo much and think he is a bad mc he's not well his writting gets f**ked at the end of villain hunt
but he's not bad
Thats just a subjective statement though. If someone says MHA is better than dragon ball, then that means that person genuinly enjoys it more than the other. As someone who has watched anime for 10+ years now, it's a given that people don't always have to say a story doesnt inherently have flaws, which is true but also false. Any story in fictional works are not inept of criticism, and while i dont necessarily disagree with your standpoint about the characters, this is a shounen battle show. It doesn't focus on character writing nearly as much as the action, because it's aimed towards that demographic group or age bracket.
And I also disagree with your other point about deku's writing being skewered after the vigilante arc, there we saw another side to him while being inherently driven towards his goal to be self sacrifical, to be alone to protect his friends by actively not caring about himself. He's been like that since EP 1, just now here he's gotten more convinction and no hesitation towards his actions, i mean we see that mentality when he tries to save bakugo from the sludge villain despite not knowing if he would die there or not.
While MHA is not perfect, it’s still a very good show and I honestly don’t get the whole "it’s not dark nor has blood splattering everywhere" because like, the show has some very gruesome moments and it’s genuinely crazy how people are so accustomed to "violence equals good show"
Besides the hate that the show gets because of it’s fandom it’s childish and it just says more about the hater than the fandom
I feel like people should realize that every fandom has that weird, toxic, or extremely shipping part of it, and just because you like the show or even ship a pairing does not make you like those people, and like at the end of the day you can just mind your business?
Plus I PERSONALLY feel like some people have double standards with this show compared to other, there have been cases where something that happened got hate but on another show it’s glorified or not payed attention
Just in case anyone gets their boots shaken, I’m not saying that some of the criticism isn’t valid or that that specific part of the fandom are saints, but the majority of hate that I’ve seen is exaggerated or just close minded
@montserratmarroquin400
Its fantastic, it's at least an 8.9 and at most a 9.6
@@sgtaveryjohnson3803Yeah it’s an amazing show, feel like all the people that hate it only got to S1
It’s even worse with people being like "I actually dropped it in S3 like no motivation no depth no nothing 0/10" 💀.
I genuinely didn't like MHA. anime is well written I'll give it that
Alguien lo tenia que decir 🗿
bro this tier list is so bad and good wtf
Personally i think just from what I've seen through manga panels online, Mha Vigilantes is way better than MHA, cause it ends pretty good plus the mc still has his powers and sorta ends up with his girl. I blame the fanfic people who can't let horikoshi just end the way he wants it. Jiro and kaminari were the only couple that felt normal, uraraka and deku were obvious, rest of cast could have been on their own in my opinion also saddest death besides the pro heroes would be toga and toya. Sure toya ended up being insane, but story wise made sense. Also twice i still didn't understand from his backstory. Overall MHA is decent, just the ending they chose is meh, but understandable. demon slayer ending is better, but getting there felt meh, like every character was getting op left and right till the main cast just beat everyone and everything didn't matter anymore, i prefer season 1, felt like a film.
trash takes
Your take was fine up until the "fanfic" people, it ain’t anyone’s fault that Deku didn’t end up with Ochako, besides you’re acting as if Hori wouldn’t have gotten the same hate if he made BKDK or any other ship canon
Him ending it with Deku being with nobody was the best out come.
See, how you feel about season 5 & 6 is how I feel about 7. The final war is great in most aspects, but the adaptation is just kinda dog water & inconsistent. They loved Toga & like 3 minutes of the gearshift episode with like amazing animation for 10 seconds only to go back to still frames. I don’t get the manga fans loving season 7. Maybe I just don’t like the anime like I used to anymore ever since reading the manga back in 2021. That’s when I had a falling off with Bones & just recommended the manga rather than the anime to people. I love the anime original content, but it’s sad that I have to say that Bones is better at making their own content rather than adapting from the source material. & we know they can make masterpieces like Mob Psycho animation & seasons 1-4 of MHA were peak & even the first half of 5. They just needed a breather. They’re becoming Gamefreak with how they release stuff every year. That’s all well & good for 3 seasons, but even in season 4 we saw cuts of content & still frames becoming an issue. Like with Pokemon X & Y (especially after this Teraleak) how much was cut because hardware only gets more advanced & demand for higher quality is expected.
Mob Psycho was animated by different sub studio and under different production committee. Mob Psycho had a healthier schedule than MHA bcs they were given time by the production committee of 2 years with only 12 episodes per season. On the other hand for MHA, TOHO Animation as the production committee is so greedy so they only give Bones 1 year with 25 episodes per season to get their money quickly from MHA
My biggest problem with MHA and most other anime is information dumps/flashback of already known information, repetitively. Like I don't need to hear the characters interior monolog of what happening and stuggles every three seconds only for another character to do the same exact thing when it happening right in fornt of us.
Like take out the bloat, it feel artificial stretching out espiode to reach that certain time marker. Fewer but tightly written espiodes would be better that draw out espiodes.
Yes! The first few Eps of season 7 were kinda boring with their flashback dumping and the action being close to the end. I feel like that could've been part of the “skip intro/review” of the video
The fights throughout the series felt like they were taking too long becuz of this too
It's a good show but not the best anime out
It's one of the best recent animes
The heck is peak slayer doing down there? Unless you specifically talking about the terrible anime adaptation?
the demon slayer adaptastion is fine
There is literally no world where demon slayer has a bad anime adaptation
