People that use the "He's a crybaby!" or "Took him three seasons to know his legs exist!" excuses haven't watched the show or used their brains to think. There's a reason he cries, and he stopped constantly crying after or midway season 2. Also, the reason why it took him till season 3 to figure out shoot style is due to his admiration for All Might. He's blinded by All Might's constant use of his arms that he didn't decide to think out the box. I respect those who dislike Deku for good or understandable reasons, but those that hate for the sake of hating or hate for the wrong reasons are just stupid.
I'm so glad you understand! That's the exact reason I made this video, if people dislike Deku for a valid reason I can understand that, but if people say that "He's a crybaby" or "he shouldn't have got powers" as a reason to hate on him, I think are completely missing the point of the show...
There’s also another point for the legs thing. Imagine if Pre- Full Cowl Deku was in a fight and he used his legs, his legs would break and he wouldn’t be able to run, walk or retreat. Isn’t the whole point of Full Cowl is to make sure Deku’s limbs won’t break?
@@nanaakuaamoako2352 That is true, so him still having the mentality of: "I can't be broken and have to be saved." is what also shackled him. What's more is his permament injuries during the training camp, causing the punch-blinded Izuku to be further restricted of his view. Though it's blessing and a curse, since it's because of those injuries that he could figure that out fully.
Also, Deku used his legs to break Spinner's sword after his fight with Muscular. So that proves he just uses his legs as a last resort if his arms are both broken.
i will never understand how can people find deku annoying or weak just because he has emotions. There are definitely crybaby characters that are annoying, but deku is not one of them. His cries are never loud, exaggerated (aside when is a gag scene but it's a gag so it's fine) or for no reason. He always cries at the right time and for good reasons, making the scenes more emotional and impactful. If there is a crybaby character that is annoying in mha that's mineta. Deku is an amazing mc and his emotions make him so relatable and human
100% agree and is the reason I felt like I had to make this video, people who hate on him because he has emotions and acts like a real human would is so wrong and they completely miss the point of his character.
A person who cries over exaggerated and loud as hell is Zenitsu. Somehow people like him more than Deku. (Zenitsu fans gonna kill me but oh well) Deku is much more quieter and more mature, I don't get how people find Deku a crybaby- 😭
@@Hatsunkiso I mean not trying to hate but I have watched demon slayer and Zenitzu does cry but a lot less then you would think.in the last season he doesn’t cry but the reason people think he cry’s so much is because his character is supposed to be so mature he supposed to be a character that can go into a fight and have no fear.

Part of why I think MHA is peak is because of Deku being a great role model. It's okay to cry, empathize, work hard, struggle and think through your problems. He's breaking the mold of the conventional shonen protagonist in a big way. The same people that dislike Deku are often the people who want more classic male fulfillment roles like Luffy, Naruto, Goku, etc. Empty head, be silly, eat food, be born powerful, always win. MHA has reached a greater demographic due it's modern ideals and I'm glad to see it pushing Shonen tropes forward.
Out of all of the new gen main protagonists, Deku is by far my favorite main character. MHA was the first Shonen anime i ever saw and i still enjoy it. I am glad someone made a video about how deku is actually a good main character

I grew with marvel and dc (I still love them in all mediums) but Deku has become my favorite superhero of all time. Possibly even my favorite character of all time. The combination of his innate goodness and his push to challenge his own limiting beliefs inspires me everyday

The thing is that he is an emocional kid… but its not a bad thing. It is what lets him connect to others and to many it makes him a more inspiring hero than even All Might
@@HiddenSH_ Yes but it´s not just because he is a kid. Most of Deku´s arc is about becomeing more breave and confident but also about doing so in a way that is true to himself and not necesarily to All Might. The entier point of the Overhaul arc is the fact that Mirio would be the perfect All Might 2.0, but Deku has a chance to make somehing better because he isn´t like All Might. For example, after he talks with Todoroki and Iida in that arc Deku says he shouldn´t cry because heroes (All Might) don´t cry, and Shoto tells him that sometimes even heroes need to cry, becuase he undesratands Deku´s strength and power as a hero is conected to his emotions
@@ManiacForStorysyMusi 10000% a great point, you even see the difference in the flashback in that arc where you see All Mights refusal to show emotions and weakenss by taking time off despite Nighteye's warning about what would happen to him, whereas when Deku comes back to UA he allows himself to get help and for everyone to see him beaten and broken down, it's because they aren't the same that he can be more
Amazing vid! Love that someone who actually understands Deku speaking out on such blatant mis-characterisation (also doesn't help when so many in the anime community specifically will just formulate opinions on what the majority say 😅). Deku is honestly one of the best MCs for me and it's a shame he's been put in such bad light so I appreciate him getting the recognition he deserves by anyone. Plus your One Piece video was great as well and I think you got what I personally felt in how you just fall in love with it without even noticing. Glad I found your channel n I'll definitely stick along w you bro 🦍💙
Bro, you’re so right and all levels of aspect because I’ve heard so many people talk about how they hate this show because of how the main character is a crybaby and you’re literally describing why he is a great character
Honestly my only complaint about him is that he feels underdeveloped compared to other characters in the show even though he’s the MC but I still love him.
I'm glad you still love him like I do, but can I ask why you feel he's under developed? He's a fairly stagnant character who's main purpose is to be the source of good and a hero but I think they still developed and explored a lot in the later half of the show
Ngl I’m pretty sure Deku might have some kind of mental illness cause the only time he cries is when he’s being scolded, but when he breaks his arm, he doesn’t utter a peep he could just be an emotionally unstable teen.
My colleague hates him because Deku's good qualities shades him or rubs him off a certain way. Cool guy, but can't seem to get along well with empaths.
Ten years! Ten years of being bullied and yet people hate on Deku and call him a cry baby? Excuse me? I have experienced bullying before in my life and I'm saying this now, it SUCKS! I don't know how Deku handled ten years of being put down and hurt. By season six, it's clear that he needs therapy. Ever since I got into MHA, I have found that Deku is so relatable. I love his kindness, his sacrifice to protect thoughs in need. He's just a great MC. Please, stop hating on him. He really went through hell in his life and I wish people would keep that in mind. I saw one guy saying that he hated Izuku because he was basic, different a different hair colour (like HALF THE CAST DOESN'T EXIST), wanting to be a good person, having the will to save, wanting to be like a hero or a figure he stands up to. He reasoned that because Izuku was basic as hell he wasn't interesting, which was also why he didn't really like Tanjiro. They also said that because he had no HUMAN reason to be like he is he was a bad character. AND that bc he didn't even seem interesting in the "I am this but this too" way that he was uninteresting and a bad MC. He then listed Bakugo and Shoto and said the most basic excuses as to why they were more interesting. Shoto: "My dad is the number two hero but I hate him" Bakugo: "I want to be a hero but I act like a villain." THOSE ARE SUCH COP-OUT REASONS! CONVINCE ME NOT! He also said that Izuku's only growth was figuring out he can kick instead of just punch (get ready for that rant) Okay, number 1: DO YOU WANT AN ASSHOLE BEING THE MC!?!? LIKE, COME ON! YOU THINK THAT BECAUSE HES NICE AND IS GOOD-WILLED THAT MAKES HIM BASIC! YOU WANT SOMEONE LIKE MINETA BEING THE MC!?!?!? GET REAL AND GROW UP! I saw this happen with another game, there was a huge issue with a game that came out about 2 years ago (I think and the name I don't remember) but every person was mad because the MC was a female who looked like your everyday female on the street. She didn't look any different or super cool, she looked like a mixed, female-passing, regular woman on the streets. EVERY (supposed) MALE WAS UPSET ABOUT IT AND I HATE THAT IT APPLIES TO THIS SITUATION! HE IS A GOOD PERSON, HE HAS A KIND HEART, HE HAS A GOAL TO SET AND A REASON TO ACHIEVE IT! Number 2: He has different hair and a good heart and soul, SO WHAT!?!? HE HAS TO BE A DEMI-GOD NOW!? WHEN THAT BECOMES NORMAL YOU WOULD HAVE SAID "Oh BuT hE's LiKe EvErYoNe ElSe."! ITS AN ENDLESS CYCLE! SHE EVEN SAID THAT MHA GOT HIM INTO ANIME SO DEKU MUST HAVE DONE SOMETHING RIGHT! Number 3: He has a very human reason. This g00ner listed off a few characters that were such cop-outs, it's fxqing painful to even remember them. He said that Hinata (Haikaiyuu) wanted to beat Kageyama, Naruto wanted to be Hokage and didn't want to be alone, and a few others that were so stupid I'm glad I don't remember them. THOSE ARE BASIC ASS PREMISES IN ANY SHOW OR MOVIE! JUST LOOK THROUGH ANY SHONEN OR SPORTS ANIME AND LOOK AT THEIR PREMISES! YOU LIKE NARUTO AND HINATA BUT THEIR DRIVES ARE EXACTLY LIKE IZUKU'S JUST SIMPLIFIED! COME ON! Number 4: "I am this but this too" I am quirkless but I can become a hero, I was quirkless but now I can become a hero, I was quirkless but now I am saving the world, I was quirkless but I saved the world. That also solves the "He has no growth accusation. Number 5: Watch the damn show. Watch it and see what I mean. Hes a good character BECAUSE hes kind-willed, wants to save people despite having no ability that could make him be as great as he wanted to and then saved the world because he got that quirk, Izuku has the same passions as all the characters you love/listed but they were simplified, he looks normal and like any person you would see on the streets while everyone else looks super cool and dressed up and who and what not, which makes him better in my opinion. He's a good character because of the reasons you hate him, same with Tanjiro, they are amazing because they are who they are. I'm just happy he didn't talk about Izuku crying more often than most MC's do. Some people need to grow up and touch grass.
I agree with almost everything you said, all the reason's people hate can be explained by watching the show or using any amount of their brain if they are being un-biased. This was a great comment and a lot of haters would learn SOOO much from reading this, but they will just hate to hate either way LMAO
@@HiddenSH_ Lol! THis was said by another creator, Kikazu, a lot of anime fans will watch what they hate just for the sake of hating and then waill say smth like "I was watching it to see if it got better" when it was JUST for the sake of hating. Just look at My Dress Up Darling, so many people hate it bc of the fanservice but the show is CENTERED around the s3xual aspect of their relationship (if you couldn't tell by EPISODE FXQING ONE) and it's integral to the plot. There are so many series that you can just tell they're gonna s3xual based off of the thumbnail alone. So many gripes but that is a whole 30 minute video for youtube, not a comment section.
THANK YOU!!! I feel like all I see online is my hero hate, especially Deku hate, almost like it’s trendy to hate them. But honestly? Now more than ever I believe we need a story like MHA’s. Questioning the systems put in place by those before us, setting aside what we’ve learned from people we admire and respect, and gaining a new, more compassionate outlook in life, even towards those who oppose our views, is a message so incredibly necessary for today’s time. I’ve loved my hero since back in late 2018, but rewatching it for season 6 was eye opening, like I finally understood what it was trying to say. Izuku is a catalyst for change, for the people around him, for Japan’s society, and even All Might himself, just by keeping that sensitive, vulnerable and compassionate heart. Izuku’s sensitivity (especially now extended to the villains) is a direct antithesis to mha society’s numb apathy, forcing it to view itself in a mirror and question where it went wrong, kicking off the change he inspired his classmates and comrades to chase as well. He’s such an incredible character and, like you said, even more altruistic than All Might (and AM is my fave character). (Spoilers for final manga chapter!!!) The only thing I would’ve wished for him, was to get the chance to come to terms with and embrace his worth even while quirkless, though considering how the story ended, I hope he gets that chance now (and I’d love to see that process in a spinoff or sequel work!). This aside, Izuku has definitely become one of my favorite characters in all of media, and my personal inspiration to keep chasing my dreams and never giving up. I just wish people tried more to understand him in good faith, instead of nitpicking and criticizing every little thing about him. Fantastic video!!! 👏❤️
Thank you for the amazing comment! I agree with pretty much everything you said, and I would've been really nice for him to be able to see his worth even without a quirk, but I do have hope that in a spinoff or sequel we will get that!!
Hot take but I feel people hate mha because of how it calls out society how it doesn’t beat around the push openly talking about segregation, discrimination, bullying, suicide, abuse, abusive parenting, child endarterment and such they all have have realistic struggles and impacts one thing they don’t realize is that in MHA “SCARS” play a huge roll the emotional and physical on izuku through hardships and training, the scar on Bakugos peirced heart, Todorokis left face, the Skin on Dabi, each scar from endeavor, Allmights weakend form, the stab wound on Ururaka, aizawas eyes and legs , mirio losing his quirk and so on so many impactful moments are missed probably intentionally because people cannot accept the realism
I think this is such a great point from you, so many things in MHA especially the longer the series goes on gets so real and relatable but people struggle to see it or even refuse to because of how heavy some of the topics are.
This is the first video I've seen of you, and I want to say you did a great job on it. The editing and the way you present everything is very entertaining. You got a new subscriber. Deku is far from a crybaby with how much he goes through and male sensitivity should be more normalised.
Aww thank you so much for the compliment, I'm glad someone enjoyed the video I made!! I hope I can make more videos you enjoy!! He is not a crybaby in the slightest and even if he does who cares
Oh! The iner mind child scenes in mha reminds me of the Maka and Crona (Soul Eater) scene. It truly is a special sort of scene where, without all the pizzaz of the real world interfears with what is going on inside the characters heads and souls. The audience and character the second, can see what the person thinks of themselves with out the physically sensory walls, and allowed the visual cues to see the persons "core" In part it gives us inisght on how fundamentally, Deku hasnt changed at his core. Not at all, and thats beautiful to see him doing what he always does, which is reaching out a hand, which in season seven, we see later reflected in the Toga/Urauraka scene and a little bit with the Dabi/Family drama. The identity and the quirk are not the same person, which is in part why we see these scenes of them when they are 4 years old, just moments or days before they get their quirks. Another stretch might be to say that in showing these scenes, we see how Deku has rubbed off on his classmates in this small way, of reaching a hand out to those who wanted a hand to grasp all this time. I think back to the Hawks/Twice fight alot. Id have to rewatch it but i do recall Hawks trying his best to spare Twice, but in the end, Twice chose to live for his friends, his family, understandable considering Hawks had betrayed their trust and again, if the commision could have their way, had the Lov killed. Deku wants to connect, snd he dosent want to kill. T I think this is in part due to his analysis and his love of quirks. His analysis is considered professonal grade, even to the point of some people wondering how he even knows something so personal or miniscule only a trained detective, doctor, or dedicated professional would likely notice a tendancy to favor one side over the other or the draw backs due to his dedicated reasearch. Deku looks for ways to help, most kemorable is right before the camp arc when Mido and Shigaraki meet hand to neck. Sure Deku is scared, and maybe he only gave the villain his honest opinion on stain out of that fear, but it is quite special that instead of refusing to answer or again trying to fight back or call for help (all very stupid or no existant) or even making up a believable lie, he jsut spits out his opinion. And, if im not mistaken, Deku does lie, not to harm, but when the aim is to help someone or keep others from worrying about him. Deku is honest in his intentions, that is admirable. Which is why i think Bakugo And Shinso are great friendly rivals for deku. The former 2 are mostly violent and standoffish in nature, Bakugou being sky-high cocky and shinso being 3-feet-under stanoffish. All really want to be heros, all really want to prove the world of their merit in one way or another. Im too tired to finish the thought.
Thank you for the comment and the effort you put into it, I also love those scenes and think they were such a good addition to the show and helped expand deku's character and his inner thoughts, even the scene where the previous holders ask Deku if he could possibly kill Shigi, even with the previous holders and no one else to judge him, his truest thoughts and he still wouldn't kill. His instinct is to save people
I do not get why people call him a cry baby I like his character because without power he still what to save somebody one of my favorite my hero academia character is Izuku Midoriya
I like that he starts as a bit of a crybaby and scaredy-cat. It helps him stand out from your standard shounen Goku clones. I also love that he starts as a glass cannon (that might not be the right term to describe it, but he has a powerful ability that also hurts him), having to be strategic with how he uses his power. However, the ending REALLY did him dirty and this one 4Chan post sums it up perfectly. I don’t want to spoil the ending though
Bro Deku’s training to handle ofa was the reason why during quarantine I started calisthenics, and after quarantine during 2023 he was mainly the reason why I went to the gym to get an even better physique.
I really only watched the show for shigaraki I didn’t really mind deku but throughout the show I started liking deku more and more it’s a really good show finally finished season 7
One more stupid thing I also say people hate this series is mostly drawn from the Fandom. A fandom doesn't determine how well written the series is or how much you like the series. Honestly, people will find any reason to hate on this series or a character
@HiddenSH_ That's honestly why I don't associate with the Fandom of the series, mostly due to people ending up hating me for thinking I enjoyed the Fandom when that is far from the case, the series is actually well written and deserves a lot more credit than what people actually give it, sure, it fell off after season 4 ended and didn't pick back up until the Vigilante Arc, but I honestly loved the series (even though I almost dropped the series as a whole after what happened to Bakugo in season 7, for context, Bakugo is my favorite character)
@@copper-dragons I can understand that because some fanbases have a bad rep but I always just separate the 2 so if someone tells me they like MHA or whatever I never assume they are like some of the crazy fans lol but I'm glad you didn't drop the series and kept going"!

I like deku’s spirit but I used to hate how pathetic he was in the first season , he didn’t train at all up until the 10 months of ua entrance exam , the writer didn’t specify why , I mean it would make sense if bakugo didn’t let him train and was seeking after him or that his mother was too worried about him but him not training at all ? Without a clear reason? That what I didn’t like , I mean if u really want to be a hero , u have to not only train ur mind but ur body too but his determination and spirit is truly aspiring even for us in the real world and his glow up from someone who can’t fight 4 year old with a quirk to someone who can defeat prime all might with low-mid difficulty is something
I understand where you are coming from but I think that's a lot to put on a boy younger then 10 years to be training his body after his dreams of being a hero were pretty much destroyed because he doesn't have a quirk like almost everyone else, but I'm glad you still like Deku and the person he became!
He didn't physically train but he still had notes on every single hero he knew. 13 notebooks with extreme detail on heroes is a lot of effort. He continued to write notes on even his classmates to understand how they can work together and how they could improve their quirks. If he didn't care this much about quirks he wouldn't have been able to handle the other quirks within one for all so well
He lost his powers in order to save everyone. He gave up his dream of becoming the number 1 hero (though he technically did achieve it). everything he worked for, he threw it all away to save everyone, and yet he’s hated for it. He’s ridiculed by the fandom for this. Deku is easily one of my favourite mc’s, and he always will be
And people also complain that “ohhh, he gave up immediately after the embers were gone”, my guy he didn’t. Like it was clear in the last chapter that he didn’t give up, he just didn’t have the funding needed to get a suit built for him to use. And that’s also the reason why he became a teacher to help the future generation in his own way that he can handle. And people hated him for that. Like if he did give up immediately after loosing the embers then he wouldn’t have been so eager to immediately getting back on the field with his friends after receiving the suit
@@andrewswannsproposal I agree with that, Deku was never about the embers he always wanted to be a hero no matter what and if he has a suit or anything that allows him to help people he will always help no matter what
Yap session I don hate deku bc he was a crybaby (if anything that gave him character). What I am mad at is how deku (in terms of how i seen other characters) was slowly becoming less of a character and more of a macguffin (especially in Act 3). It didn’t help with the fact that his character was barely properly explored. Like we could’ve gotten a story abt deku’s father, about him being a villain that only deku can stop, and how he would feel. It would be cool if deku was [purposely] out of character for that moment. He doesn’t even get to be fully involved with bakugou’s storyline, even though he plays as big of a role as bakugou did, especially with how things about the world become unnecessary. Like, did I need to know about how other nations are doing when we didn’t even get a plot point on quirkless ppl, or even a proper mention of the vestiges throughout over 150 chapters. All of this (and so much more) pile up and become increasingly irritating when you realize bro doesn’t even overcome his trauma naturally. Someone who has been bullied for TEN FUCKING YEARS would likely have [idk] a ton of fking trauma.
I think you raise some pretty good points however I think a lot of what you said is covered in the show. I think Deku was super developed they just didn't explain it, you had to look for it. Vigilante Deku is the toxic side of his heroism, need to save people and the pressure of being the next in line for OFA, and the way they develop and make him learn from this with his friends is amazing. I think the point about his father would have been a bit cliche, everyone was theorising smth like OMG AFO might be his dad or smth but can't it just be the case that he is the child of a single mom and father who left him, and maybe that even plays a part of why he looks up to All Might so much especially as a kid. He played a huge part in Bakugo's story to the point his whole mindset and outlook changed on life and people because of who deku is and what he overcame. Throughout the whole show its mentioned many times that people without quirks typically have a tougher life or even resent people with quirks and a form of racism because of that. How are you supposed to overcome your trauma of bullying naturally if not making up with the person who bullyed you and forgiving him?
Yo, thank you for this. I'm so glad I'm seeing more and more. Deku slash maa love as of late with all these new videos, talking about how nha's great or deku great
Ok he’s one of the best mc’s and my favourite mc buuuuuuuuut he has definitely cried way more than 8 episodes he doesn’t deserve the title crybaby but he cries way too much ngl (edit) i also enjoy how he try’s hard to not to cry but he does lmao
one tiny mistake you made that Izuku wants to save people with a smile on his face and not becoming the number 1 hero. Sure he wants to become like All Might, but wants to become like All Might, a hero who saves people with a smile on his face
Deku is a really, great character, hes different from the usual hack-n-slash strong confident type mc's or the main who starts with nothing and- well thats why i like Deku, hes an underdog, but an underdog with a different personality, hes not entirely sweet, everyone loves me, or everyone hates me. He has, something, to grow from. Im rambling. I like how even beyond Deku, theres an obvious potential for the characters to have lives beyond the page, they are charachters you want to think about and like, and well, watch. There is dynamic character, hes weak at the start but has a strong heart, he has no quirk yet hes the best at analysing them, like, even if he didnt gain a quirk, couldnt you imagine him just working towards his goal despite the odds? I can. Hes like an Iruma, an Atsushi, Lucy Heartfelia. Ponpo the Cinephile They lack yet they have something to gain, something to live for. The execution of mha was a bit wonky at times but nothing that commends hate, especially after what the fans did to Horikoshi. My point? Well mha is oneof the anime which got me to write. Deku is unique, emotional, oh god the soft boy deku era had me cringing SO bad.
Keep it up on your work and this video and channel I love this video and channel Thanks you for your video and channel I love my hero academia all franchise
I agree and I also have a few points to add the dark deku feels like a good representation of being too selfless try to save people trying to keep people away from you because you don't want to get hurt trying to stay away from them destroying your own self constantly I'm trying to find leads on the main villain with no break no arrest because if you feel like that if you take even the second off your day someone may die I said that this does such a good job to the point that you did not have his friends he probably would have died after you guys are all might cousins saved him because it in a way this is kind of all might's my fault because in the end I feel like if all night was in Decker's situation he would have done the exact same thing heck it's already been proven that he's been in this situation and done this before heck that was his number to right hand man heroes reason of quitting he does not want to see the guy that inspired him so much to destroy himself and again people you really believe a crybaby will be so selfless the day will be willing to destroy themselves just for one more second to save one more life and not to mention in the earlier seasons it was justified because come on people try to imagine if you wanted to be a artist someone that draws and paints and you had the best ideas ever and at that little kitty said that was your dream and then suddenly one day you got your hands amputated Annie little kid any person would it been devastated they had this big dream and they were faded to not be able to attain it heck did not even get the opportunity to try and yet he does because that's the kind of person he is can I have to mention to do that clean a whole entire beach in a few months by himself with no equipment I'm not even sure they're the best bodybuilder and best at what they do in the world could pull off the hatch in a few months well as all I have to say Heck to prove my point anymore give a listen to the song by the name of fables Lost this song perfectly confused what I'm trying to say the danger of too much selflessness in song forum the way to the background music is done basically signifying the grim situation deck who was in in his actual mental state as a whole and the lyrics are completely on point and not to mention how the word reaper is used but my favorite part about this song is the background music it just makes the same the word use to convey my feeling of the background music is sorrow complete another sorrow but again give it a listen I'm curious of what you think about it
I agree with you 100% I think the dark deku arc was great and added so much to the world and deku's character, a whole different and almost toxic side to his need to save people and be all mights successor
@@HiddenSH_ thanks for replying to my comment and also again could you give the song lost a lesson it is worth it trust me and also I'm curious of what your opinion of the ending of my hero Academia because it mines is kind of messed a little but nearing shorts to the negative side I feel like deku who got screwed over but I'm here I'm curious if you had a bit more context to that
@@NEX1639 No problem! I will definitely give it a listen when I have some time! So at first I really didn't like the ending I was hoping for a better ending for Deku, but as I had more time with the ending and thought about it more, it started to grow on me a bit and I thought it did the overall message of the story well and proves the Deku is a hero no matter what even without a quirk and all of these type of things, but I think like a lot of other people that like Deku we were hoping for a better ending for him where he was on top being the no. 1 hero maybe with Ururaka and such
The only reason i hate deku is because of how much he simps over bakugo even after all the things he did to him and up to this day i still dont understand what made him tell his #1 bully a generational secret just because his ego got hurt
I can kinda understand that but at the end of the day you gotta remember they were actually friends when they were younger and after Bakugo got his quirk their dynamic changed but Deku still looked up to him because of his strength and always wanted to be friends again, he was just looking for a reason to forgive bakugo and that came when he apologised
14:36 i think afo is truly unsavable, he didnt grow up to slowly turn evil like shigaraki, he was born and immedietly chose violence, literally, from the moment he was born he thought that the whole world was a playground and the people were his toys, all might had no choice, there is NOTHING to save, hes evil incarnate
I love Deku. Is it wrong to say that I'm tired of protagonists who barely showed their hand emotionally? Does seriously there are characters out there who show off their kind and compassionate side so little and show don't tell isn't redeeming them one bit. It's to the point where the full moon happens more often than we see a character is Heart of Gold meanwhile we have Deku whose Heart of Gold is always exposed year-round.
The reason I hate Deku is because as a character, he fundamentally does nothing, and doesn't really achieve anything until the promise of power. Deku was fully ready to give up on his dream of becoming a hero the moment All-Might told him it wasn't possible without a quirk, even though the series later on goes to prove that that kind of argument is actually not true, since All-Might used a suit made of other people's powers to do it. Deku only ever starts training when he is given the literal strongest power in the world, and sure, despite the fact he breaks his limbs upon using it, he's still getting help from the #1 Hero anyway. Are you going to tell me Deku would struggle training a lot more than a lot of these people with actually awful quirks? It's not that I don't think Deku wasn't struggling to train, but that he knows what he's getting in the end with the power he has. He would be less sure of his potential if he had the ability to summon plates like that one kid, since it's not a strong power by any means. But Deku has seen All-Might use this power, and has seen him become the greatest hero. Deku struggles to use it, sure, but he's getting lessons from the greatest hero in the world, and HIS teacher, Gran Torino. Deku also does not develop or have any connection to the villains at all thematically speaking. Deku is some kid living in a home with his mother, who didn't suffer the injustice of the Hero Society, yet every time someone like Stain, or someone else who had been wronged by the hero society like Lady Nagant and Shigaraki, bring up compelling points as to why the Hero Society is flawed, Deku does nothing to reflect upon these questions and just says "Well, doing what you're doing is wrong, so you can't do this!" This does nothing to tackle one of the most relevant plot points in the story, and Deku is saying all this without ever experiencing these injustices. Deku also somehow gets into U.A. based off an exam designed around points based off Uraraka vouching for him. A robot that does literally nothing for the exam and has no purpose to be there as it doesn't assign points, and it almost kills Uraraka. The teachers did legit nothing about this either, it took Deku to step in to do so. They put the lives of these kids in danger over a robot with no reason for being there, so what? That Deku could beat it, look like a hero, and get in that way? I get they're training to be heroes, but this is the entrance exam. Some of these kids probably barely know how to use their powers and you're putting them in with a giant death robot? That's besides the point. Deku's powers are also uninteresting, as in order to make them interesting, he pretty much has to use his fingers as ammo and... wind bursts, I guess?? Which like... sure, I guess wind bursts I can accept, but what else do you even do with super strength? Horikoshi clearly could not think of other ways to make Deku's powers interesting either, which is why he just said "Yeah, sure, give him like eight powers", which makes me feel like this stuff wasn't thought of or considered at all. It also makes One For All just look even more broken by comparison, and Deku really doesn't train nearly as much with those powers and gets the hang of them fast. And the other powers almost serve no purpose because a lot of them only really show up for the last portion of the story, which gives us no time to really consider their other utilities and functions. If they stuck to a Deku who had no powers in the beginning, we could have really seen him struggle with the system as his heroism becomes the thing that proves to All-Might he can be a hero, he doesn't get any broken powers, but Deku starts training on his own in the background to get ready for the entrance exam. In this version, since Deku is smart, you could make it to where he dedicated his life to learning how to create his own gadgets and gizmos to compensate for having no powers and he could use this to try and prove he can be a hero, but only gets laughed at for trying, everyone saying "Yeah, right! You'll never be a hero unless you don't have a quirk! Playing dress-up won't get you into U.A.!" This could add to Deku's bravery as a character, because he's not just going up against villains with the literal strongest quirk in his hands, he's going up against villains with his own power and abilities. This could lead into him creating his first suit which has its own special gadgets and ammo, and he can even learn how to create better suits as time goes by, soon being able to incorporate other quirks into his suits and allowing him the ability to use multiple powers. This can even serve the story in the sense of quirks themselves being a threat to mankind. What better finale to cap off the story than a quirkless hero who built a staircase to the top versus someone wielding a massive amount of quirks all at once. That could've truly proven to the world that anyone can be a hero. I understand why you like Deku, and I don't fault anyone for loving him. Like what you like. Not everything I like is stuff people consider good, but I still like it. But I'm not gonna call people "dumb" for having a different opinion than me.
I get what you're saying but even when "he was about to give up" after All Might told him he couldn't, as soon as he saw Bakugo a person in trouble, he went to save him anyway, even without power. So the whole thing about only doing stuff once he had the power of promise is wrong, and he would've been training since the age of 4 if he had any power at all, it didnt have to be All Might's or the strongest quirk, even without power he tried to help people. It had nothing to do with power and all mights help, that's what makes him worthy of it, because at his heart hes a hero no matter what, and it was All Might seeing Deku do this and try to save bakugo that reminded him what it's all about and proved to him he was wrong. Deku doesn't face the struggles from the hero society, but society in general bro. He was bullied simply because he was quirkless and wasn't like everyone else, so already I think you're coming from a biased stand point. Lady Nagant is fine but Shigi wasn't effect by hero society. He was also like deku just effected by society and the circumstances they were born in. Shigi's power was so danger and killed his loved ones by accident that he was sent down a path of choas and destructions. Deku because of how he was born had nothing and no hope expect all might, he is perfect heroism and need to save people, Shigi is destruction and hate, they are perfect foils for each other. So also thematically he relates perfectly to shigi and the villains. I understand a lot of people wanted this and in theory it would be great, but people don't think about is where is a 10 y/o kid to a single parent of a regular household is gonna get the money to make some crazy iron man suit enough to fight people with quirks that can destroy anything is touches. AS A CHILD! It works for Batman because hes an adult and has infinite money, and also only fights superpowered people every so often. 90% of Dekus world has SUPER POWERS, story wise it just wouldnt work for MHA. I appreciate your comment tho and how much thought you put into it, however I don't actually think people are dumb if people like Deku, i think its dumb to hate him because he cries or the fandom etc. so I made the video to explain why a lot of the reasons people hate him i think are not great and would be explained it people watched the show, but I have no problem if people dislike him lol
@@lovableairheadmile6809 LOL that was mainly for the title and if people hate him because he cries because that is stupid, if you just dont like him fair enough
@@breadz8_liftSorry but they are dumb. Not trying to be mean but the hate for Deku is too force. And you can call people out for their stupid opinions.
I don't really enjoy his character anymore but that's not really as much because of him as because of everything around him. Him crying isn't a problem, the problem is that no one's do anything about it. Deku and bakugou clearly have unhealthy relationship but nobody seems to really care about that and the only therapy both of them receive is beating eachother really hard. Same thing for his clearly self destructing tendencies when it comes to his limbs. "Well kid maybe try not to do that next time". During villain hunt when it comes to emotional aspect, deku didn't really get any chance to self reflect on his behaviour. All of his classmates had their moments, even bakugou had time for apologizing but deku didn't get any. He just collapsed. It bugged me for a really long time. He also have major saviour complex and it's annoying that writers don't see the difference between that and real hero. But my main problem is that he confirms to a society that would normally expell him. Instead of being this underdog that confronts unfairness of world, he immediately receive quirk and becomes like everybody else. He never questioned anything despite seeing good and bad side of hero society. All of this made pretty much not care for him in the end. Shame because potential was just around the corner
I can sort of understand where you are coming from but I think they do cover a lot of the topics you talk about, I think he was told many times to stop breaking his limbs but because of society and his need to catch up or save people he makes that sacrifice everytime without a second thought. I think when it comes to Bakugo that was mainly a one-sided hatred, Deku always liked him and wanted to be friends but Bakugo was always resort to violence, so until Bakugo finally apologised and stop resorting to violence they could finally start to fix their relationship. He always questioned everything, when he met Nagant he tried to win her over and talk to her instead of just beating her up and sending her to jail because he's been told shes a villain, same with Gentle, and because of that it ended up helping him in the end etc
Its honestly baffling how weird most anime fans are. Deku and Asta from Black Clover both had kind of the same hate in their beginning points of their series. Deku being a crybaby and Asta being a loud. But Asta has gotten more love as time passes on and yet somehow Deku kept getting hated. It just confuses me so much how they both were hated at the start but Deku's hate has gone on much longer and it took until the ending of MHA for more people to see hes a great protagonist...
Yeah some ppl refuse to see his development since it’s not very obvious to braindead ppl because it’s not thrown into your face all of a sudden. Hate on Deku is so forced
Yeah I think the fact they both got hate for "crying" and being "loud" is a horrible take but I'm glad they are getting some recognition these days but Deku still deserves more
Awww thank you so much!! Sometimes it's hard having confidence in my content but comments like this really help! I will definitely make more MHA videos in the future, and I have a couple shorts about MHA that you might enjoy!
The overhaul Arc is supposed to facilitate the payoff that all might didn't make a mistake and that Deku was the best person to receive one for all. And part of how they facilitate that payoff is by showing that all might's original first choice for successor, Mirio catastrophically fucks up in such a way that he loses his work and his mentor dies that again it was his mentor's tutelage that even caused his Royal fuk up to occur in the first place
I personally don't think that was the point of the arc, I see it in a different perspective. I think the arc was meant to show that the reason deku was chosen as the successor is because yes he's the best person to receive it, but not because mirio fucked or whatever, but to show Mirio would've been an incredible candidate and his heroic spirit trying to save Eri matches Dekus... however Deku is so great of a hero to his very core that despite the potentially better choice in mirio, he was chosen because his heroism couldnt be avoided, and this was paid off when he changed the future nighteye saw, they should've died and lost, but because has the power to bring about a new age and real change, because he is a hero.
@@HiddenSH_ well we only see that heroic spirit and drive to save her after the fact that he screwed up catastrophically and they try to mitigate it by saying he was definitely planning to save her later… despite the fact that saving people is a now or never situation
That's fine to find him annoying I'm not asking everyone to love him, just don't hate on him because he cry's lol I also like that we get a male mc who cries
Deku has cried a few times one as a kid 2 getting one for all 3 sir nighteye dying 4 people not wanting him in U.A 5 seeing the villains helping him in season 7 and maybe one or two in the movies Deku is a good character always helping no matter what
People that use the "He's a crybaby!" or "Took him three seasons to know his legs exist!" excuses haven't watched the show or used their brains to think.
@@nanaakuaamoako2352 Exactly that's the whole point of full cowl, to limit his power so he doesnt break his bones all the time
@@nanaakuaamoako2352 That is true, so him still having the mentality of: "I can't be broken and have to be saved." is what also shackled him.
(Zenitsu fans gonna kill me but oh well)
Deku is much more quieter and more mature, I don't get how people find Deku a crybaby- 😭

He for sure does, he was bullied and made to feel worthless most of his childhood because he was different and doesn't have a quirk
I agree he's so mistaken and the amount of people who don't even try to understand his character is insane!
He also said that Izuku's only growth was figuring out he can kick instead of just punch (get ready for that rant)
Okay, number 1: DO YOU WANT AN ASSHOLE BEING THE MC!?!?
(Spoilers for final manga chapter!!!)
The only thing I would’ve wished for him, was to get the chance to come to terms with and embrace his worth even while quirkless, though considering how the story ended, I hope he gets that chance now (and I’d love to see that process in a spinoff or sequel work!).

The audience and character the second, can see what the person thinks of themselves with out the physically sensory walls, and allowed the visual cues to see the persons "core"
In part it gives us inisght on how fundamentally, Deku hasnt changed at his core.
I think this is in part due to his analysis and his love of quirks.
See you understand his character, most people dont and just call him a crybaby
I like that he starts as a bit of a crybaby and scaredy-cat. It helps him stand out from your standard shounen Goku clones. I also love that he starts as a glass cannon (that might not be the right term to describe it, but he has a powerful ability that also hurts him), having to be strategic with how he uses his power.
However, the ending REALLY did him dirty and this one 4Chan post sums it up perfectly. I don’t want to spoil the ending though
I think the ending is interesting one and depending on the person they will enjoy it differently
Bro Deku’s training to handle ofa was the reason why during quarantine I started calisthenics, and after quarantine during 2023 he was mainly the reason why I went to the gym to get an even better physique.

One more stupid thing I also say people hate this series is mostly drawn from the Fandom. A fandom doesn't determine how well written the series is or how much you like the series. Honestly, people will find any reason to hate on this series or a character
I also agree with you completely, I think you can dislike a fandom without disliking or even hating the show
@HiddenSH_ That's honestly why I don't associate with the Fandom of the series, mostly due to people ending up hating me for thinking I enjoyed the Fandom when that is far from the case, the series is actually well written and deserves a lot more credit than what people actually give it, sure, it fell off after season 4 ended and didn't pick back up until the Vigilante Arc, but I honestly loved the series (even though I almost dropped the series as a whole after what happened to Bakugo in season 7, for context, Bakugo is my favorite character)

@@HiddenSH_ I know lol..but I really really I love him so much 😘😍
Someone needs to send this vid to Rob from RT TV.
Someone had to say it
I like deku’s spirit but I used to hate how pathetic he was in the first season , he didn’t train at all up until the 10 months of ua entrance exam , the writer didn’t specify why , I mean it would make sense if bakugo didn’t let him train and was seeking after him or that his mother was too worried about him but him not training at all ?
If he didn't care this much about quirks he wouldn't have been able to handle the other quirks within one for all so well
@@yd_things 100% he was always training his mind and learning whenever we could
He lost his powers in order to save everyone. He gave up his dream of becoming the number 1 hero (though he technically did achieve it). everything he worked for, he threw it all away to save everyone, and yet he’s hated for it. He’s ridiculed by the fandom for this. Deku is easily one of my favourite mc’s, and he always will be
That's what im talking about! He is amazing!
@@HiddenSH_ He really is! He is the ideal hero!
@@Smallmight_izuku He is!
@@andrewswannsproposal I agree with that, Deku was never about the embers he always wanted to be a hero no matter what and if he has a suit or anything that allows him to help people he will always help no matter what
Great video finally some love for one if it's isn't the best mc of this shonen jump Era, i've likes him from the first mha episode i Saw🤩
I'm glad you also love MHA and Deku!
actual crybaby is the mc from Tokyo Revengers
he does cry a lot but same with deku i dont hate him
i agree so much with this video, it's kinda why i think deku doesn't deserve his ending 😭
I'm glad to hear that! and I do get why people don't like the ending because of that
I think season 2 was the last time we seen him crying out of joy.
Yap session
I don hate deku bc he was a crybaby (if anything that gave him character).
@@HiddenSH_ truly valid points you have as well.
@@DD-vu1jy I appreciate you saying that!
Thank you at least somebody knows he’s a good character

Yo, thank you for this. I'm so glad I'm seeing more and more. Deku slash maa love as of late with all these new videos, talking about how nha's great or deku great
MHA and Deku deserve the love, people hate on it way to much
Ok he’s one of the best mc’s and my favourite mc buuuuuuuuut he has definitely cried way more than 8 episodes he doesn’t deserve the title crybaby but he cries way too much ngl (edit) i also enjoy how he try’s hard to not to cry but he does lmao
Yeah he definitely does cry more than that but not nearly enough to be called a crybaby LMAOOO
Guess what? Eren is also a crybaby, yet, we loved him, especially since the start of S4.
Yeah and I've never heard people complain about Eren crying LMAO
one tiny mistake you made that Izuku wants to save people with a smile on his face and not becoming the number 1 hero. Sure he wants to become like All Might, but wants to become like All Might, a hero who saves people with a smile on his face
Glad someone talking bout this
Someone HAD to
As a fellow MHA fan thank you for this
Thank you for watching!
I agree with you completely, and the anime got you to write?? That's amazing!! Keep it up!
Keep it up on your work and this video and channel

Thanks you for your video and channel
I love my hero academia all franchise
Thank you so much for the support!! It really means a lot and helps me so much to stay motivated
He's emotional but also a hardcore badass.
Agreed! He does both
I agree and I also have a few points to add the dark deku feels like a good representation of being too selfless try to save people trying to keep people away from you because you don't want to get hurt trying to stay away from them destroying your own self constantly I'm trying to find leads on the main villain with no break no arrest because if you feel like that if you take even the second off your day someone may die I said that this does such a good job to the point that you did not have his friends he probably would have died after you guys are all might cousins saved him because it in a way this is kind of all might's my fault because in the end I feel like if all night was in Decker's situation he would have done the exact same thing heck it's already been proven that he's been in this situation and done this before heck that was his number to right hand man heroes reason of quitting he does not want to see the guy that inspired him so much to destroy himself and again people you really believe a crybaby will be so selfless the day will be willing to destroy themselves just for one more second to save one more life and not to mention in the earlier seasons it was justified because come on people try to imagine if you wanted to be a artist someone that draws and paints and you had the best ideas ever and at that little kitty said that was your dream and then suddenly one day you got your hands amputated Annie little kid any person would it been devastated they had this big dream and they were faded to not be able to attain it heck did not even get the opportunity to try and yet he does because that's the kind of person he is can I have to mention to do that clean a whole entire beach in a few months by himself with no equipment I'm not even sure they're the best bodybuilder and best at what they do in the world could pull off the hatch in a few months well as all I have to say
Heck to prove my point anymore give a listen to the song by the name of fables Lost this song perfectly confused what I'm trying to say the danger of too much selflessness in song forum the way to the background music is done basically signifying the grim situation deck who was in in his actual mental state as a whole and the lyrics are completely on point and not to mention how the word reaper is used but my favorite part about this song is the background music it just makes the same the word use to convey my feeling of the background music is sorrow complete another sorrow but again give it a listen I'm curious of what you think about it
I agree with you 100% I think the dark deku arc was great and added so much to the world and deku's character, a whole different and almost toxic side to his need to save people and be all mights successor
FACTS.
That is all 100% he is pure evil and a straight demon
PURE FACTS
the meatriding is crazy
I love Deku. Is it wrong to say that I'm tired of protagonists who barely showed their hand emotionally? Does seriously there are characters out there who show off their kind and compassionate side so little and show don't tell isn't redeeming them one bit. It's to the point where the full moon happens more often than we see a character is Heart of Gold meanwhile we have Deku whose Heart of Gold is always exposed year-round.
So you would prefer if Deku didn't show his heart of gold the whole time?
@ I didn’t say that. I like that he does compared to other protagonists
I can confirm I am stupid and I hate him
Do you hate him for crying? then yes, if its for another reason you aren't stupid
Even when he lost both his arms in the manga he was worrying about the others who had helped him take down baby all for one
He's such a great person it's insane
Yeah calling people dumb was uncalled for lol

Yeah I think the fact they both got hate for "crying" and being "loud" is a horrible take but I'm glad they are getting some recognition these days but Deku still deserves more
finally someone who understands 👏👏👏👏👏👏
finally someone else who understands what I've been saying!!!!
Can you do more mha videos? I loved this! And I love Deku.
@@HiddenSH_ well we only see that heroic spirit and drive to save her after the fact that he screwed up catastrophically and they try to mitigate it by saying he was definitely planning to save her later… despite the fact that saving people is a now or never situation
i like deku but he also cried in s6 too and many other seasons sometimes like a normal anime character
