  • This is an Ice Bear, Mini Max, Grom clone Scooter
    Here I talk about some of the good and bad things about it.
    I have to say that it is a fun little ride.
    It is perfect for someone starting to ride and one does not need a motorcycle endorsement to ride it since it is 50cc * (in Florida)
    Since it's only a 50cc scooter, there is no manual clutch to deal with.
    My sister and my niece rode it and they had never ridden a scooter before.
    This is like a smaller displacement Honda Navi
    I like the fact that this one has front disc brakes as opposed to drum brakes on the Navi.
    Thanks for watching :)

    Thank you for the solid review of this bike. Like you, I also have a soft spot in my heart for small bikes like these. I had a mini bike, a Coleman 196, and that thing brought me more joy than any vehicle I had. I want a small bike, I love the look and how manageable it would be. I'm shorter and don't want to have extreme power. This would probably be a bike I would start with, thank you for your insight and honest evaluation.

      You're welcome 👍🙂
      I have to point out that this bike/scooter has an engine that is about a quarter the size of your Coleman 196, so it will feel significantly slower.
      It will take much longer to get up to speed.
      The reason I got this one is because I knew I was not going to leave it stock...😁
      Since you have already riden a Coleman 196,
      I will suggest you consider a 150cc version.
      One thing you will have to think about, is that in most states you will need a motorcycle license for anything that has an engine bigger than a 50cc.
      So if you get a 150cc version you might have to get your motorcycle license.
      Happy riding and stay safe 🙂

    Great video my man. So informative you answered every one of my questions and you were not boring at all, I give you a 10/10 for presentation and a 10 all throughout. I do have one Q you didn't answer however, do you need a license and or helmet when riding? I am in California btw

      Thanks for the kind words 👍
      As for the your question, does one need a license?, that is different per state,
      I can only tell you that in Florida one does not require a motorcycle license to ride a 50cc scooter, a regular license is enough.
      Also one is not required to wear a helmet.
      I'll suggest looking at you local DMV for the requirements in California

    An 80cc bbk aftermarket carb/intake and exhaust and some tuning of the variator weights will get you 40-45mph fyi. Don't rule these out if you're a brand new rider with little cash or aren't afraid to get your hands dirty fixing/replacing things.

    I’m interested in purchasing one for fun. However, I’m 5’8 180lbs. Would the bike look to small for me when riding or is it a descent size for my height & weight?

    • @LincolnMaxnCo
      @LincolnMaxnCo  4 місяці тому

      I'm a little taller and heavier than you,
      You will look better than I do on it 🙂 and depending on where you live, you should be able to go a tiny bit faster than me.
      If you can, go to a Honda Motorcycle dealership and sit on a Grom or a Honda Navi, that will give you a good idea of the size.
      Another suggestion, consider getting the 150cc version, it should be a lot more fun and it will allow you to keep up w/ local traffic, BUT it would require you to have a motorcycle license in a lot of states, since the engine is larger than 50cc.
      Good luck on your purchase and ride safe.

    I would upgrade the carburetor to a performance one and a performance exhaust. I've seen people bury the needle, going over 60mph.

    Did you assemble yours when it arrived? What did you have to do before 1st ride?
    I bought the mini max 150cc and assembled it a couple days ago. Put new engine oil in and a gallon of gas though fuel meter shows empty.

    • @LincolnMaxnCo
      @LincolnMaxnCo  7 місяців тому

      I did not, I got mine used.
      I checked the brakes and the throttle to make sure it was not sticking, I also looked at the bike over to make sure there was nothing loose.
      It is good that you change the oil because the oil that comes in them is not good, from what I hear.
      If your fuel gause is not working, but all other gauges work, it might be the sending unit is not plugged in properly, you might have a bad sending unit or a bad wiring/short between the two.
      have fun w/ your new ride 👍

      I got the tittle from the original owner,
      he signed it and a bill of sale.
      I then took the tittle and bill of sale to my local DMV.

    • @LincolnMaxnCo
      @LincolnMaxnCo  Рік тому +1

      Your're welcome
      There is a black plastic piece on the right side of the engine that you unscrew, ( the same part is the oil dip stick ) that is where one adds oil.
      Look up a video about how to change the oil on a 139 QMB, GY6 50CC engine and you will be able to see it.

      @@LincolnMaxnCo Silly me yes found the dipstick the oil is good. Now just need to find a way for the gas to pump into engine. It rides for 30 seconds then dies. I can’t get anyone from Ice Bear to call me back. The bike is great. It may be the gas cap doesn’t have proper air to flow. The gas isn’t filling in the little piece meat engine. So frustrating. Grateful you responded thanks very much.

      "technically" yes, but it will be very tight and to me it would be very very slow
      When I ride it, I sit on the rear portion of the seat.
      To give you an idea of the size it's about the same as a Honda Grom.

    what you should do is just get a new tour converter put a new belt on it. You go a lot more faster and then switch out the carburetor.
