Jewel: Well congratulations, you've lost this airship, now whats the next step in your master plan? Clutch: Crashing this airship....WITH NO SURVIVORS!
I can't confirm this, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Mimic subplot tales inspiration from Mega Man X4. In that game, Double helps X until it's revealed he works for Sigma during the climax; heck, both names are number themed.
Clutch pretty much created a self fulfilling prophecy in his attempts to try and sideline Team Sonic. 😊 Though now I’m curious to know who he was selling his weapons to exactly. Maybe we’re finally getting more antagonists for our heroes to cream. 😊
This issue has a lot of drama. So they finally expose Clutch finally. And after I saw this I was so, so happy. But not going to lie the whole Lanolin situation, I still hate her for not listening to other people. Like all these bad things would have been avoided if she would have just stop being stubborn and stop being blinded by everything around her and choosing not to listen. So ironic for her to say " You're protecting a criminal." When she's been doing that the whole time with Duo. Who, I should remind you helped kill his team. And she let that on her team. If anything I'm so glad that Tangle and Whisper hid that from her because I knew she wasn't going to listen to reason. Like they're on the MVP's in this. And I just like how Kit just caught Duo trying to leave knowing that he's trying to run away with his tail between his legs. And how Surge did asked him about this, putting him into a corner. And with him lying, I know his days are getting numbered. I want this last issue for him to be exposed for who he. And can I just say that I love Sonic more in this arc since he doesn't care about explaining himself to anybody he cares about helping people on that flying fortress. It shows a lot of character from him knowing that he will be able to do the wrong things for the right reasons and be ready to help other people in time of need. So far I can't wait for issue 75 to see the ending. I want Sonic to win, Duo or to be exposed, And have Lanolin learn a lesson about listening to other and learning how to be less stubborn and arrogant.
You cannot tell me that Charmy sliding through that door doesn't look sick as hell. I mean, look at him there! He looks awesome! 2:02 Overall, seems like Clutch has totally lost it. And I love that more of the cast is taking an active role. Plus, night being that cold to Clutch there? That's awesome. Can't wait to see what issue 75 has in store for us!
@@silverstircker2.047 No, he just used to constantly get tricked by Eggman into thinking Sonic was the bad guy and fighting him. The last time it happened was in Sonic Advance 2, back in 2002.
Lanolin is so gonna break away the Diamond Cutters, I can see the her not trusting everyone and I mean everyone after these awful events, she might have personal beef with Sonic
I think she'll break away because of guilt after fighting out that Mimic is Duo. I want some of the characters to call her out on her actions and learn better as a character. So I wanted to break away because of guilt and trying to become better and less stubborn.
@@loiiysailor1177 the problem with her is that she's so focused on trying to maintain order and security, at what she considers the right way in HER opinion, that she's blind to everyone else and doesn't keep an open mind and give people the benefit of the doubt, not to mention she judges things by how they appear without properly looking into it. plus she's rather harsh to others and comes off as callous despite her good intentions and she's too self-righteous in her ideals and actions to even see the real problem going on around her and that she's putting pressure on others to follow her basic code and is wearing down their self-esteem, unintentionally of course. Duo being exposed is bound to be the catalyst in her redemption
To think, Clutch could've gotten away with everything if he didn't screw over Sonic and friends. There is such a thing as being too proficient. He left Rough and Tumble to die. So, they won't be working with him anymore. His workers will be arrested for being accomplices. The only "ally" he has left is Mimic. And I don't need to say any more than that.
I wonder how Clutch was able to find people who were willing to commit evil, and what motivated them; the money? Luckily, the Chaotix were able to pull a fast one on the oppossum and he revealed himself and his schemes to the public, thanks to Nite's quick thinking and good nature. Jewel prefers to blow up the ship instead of giving it to Clutch, and the villain decides to use that to destroy the city below. Gotta admit, I love this kind of twisted character who prefers to see the world burn, even if he dies in the process; it's very hard to create this type of villain, but sometimes you simply want to see a villain do evil just because. I was hoping for Surge and Kit to reveal Duo's real identity, but they haven't found their true calling and if what the annual showed us is true, then the road towards their success will be long. I'm wondering what is their plan: they revealed Sonic's persona and first-damaged Clutch, by revealing she was forced to do what she did, but what are they going to do with the oppossum? Do you think they want him to spill what he knows about their true origins? Mimic's nasty attitude is breaking the team, again; but this time, his plan has a flaw. Mimic knew who the Phantom Rider was, NOT Duo, so his makeup story about Duo discovering Tangle and Whisper's knowing about Sonic's persona has a weak structure. However, he is counting on Lanolin's strict and severe personality to simply lash out at them, for breaking of trust and helping a "dangerous criminal". Lanolin is starting to go on a dark route; this kinda reminds me of Spiderman's Yuri Watanabe, who went on the path of the brutal vigilante Wraith, after being disillusioned by the justice system. I can totally see her quitting the Restoration and the New Diamond Cutters, stealling some weaponry and some prototype battle armor and go on an all-out war against anyone who she deems a villain. Sonic doesn't care about facing justice, only making sure he can save as many as he can. And right now, he will save Tails, Amy and everyone on the ship, no matter what. At least, Lanolin is capable of scaling priorities. The final lap is upon us!
*capable of scaling priorities WHEN SOMEONE GIVES HER A WAKE UP SLAP! The fact that she chose to pursue Sonic while their was obvious danger to innocents going on in the first place has not done her any favors. She'll have no one to blame but herself once this is all over.
I don't like Lanolin at all and she is a terrible hero in the story. Which is bad because she was a great character. Learning what it meant to be a leader, listening to others and understanding that sometimes you need to act without thinking and that you need to take risks over just waiting till you create a plan that has 0 risk. Exploring that would be fun. Now, onto my 3 points of why she is bad. The point of Duo being Mimic - you have Whisper, your teammate who you worked with, and Silver, a key hero to the Restoration, both come up and say Duo is Mimic, she pushes it off and tells them they are completely wrong. I will say, backing up Duo when there is only word of mouth and no proof is a good sign of a leader, there isn't any proof that Duo is really Mimic. But that is also true that there isn't any proof that Duo isn't Mimic either. You have someone who said they saw the signs of Mimic with Silver and Whisper knowing Mimic say that Duo is Mimic should raise possible alarms. Lanolin didn't find Duo suspicious and completely trusted him without a second thought. No testing Duo, no keeping an eye on Duo, or doing a background check, just granting him access to everything you have access to without any suspicions. You are dealing with a potential mass murdering shapeshifter who wants to kill your teammates, and potentially you as well, and would not hesitate to slit your throat in your sleep and you let them walk freely around the headquarters of the heroes. Terrible point one. Next point being how she dealt with Sonic, Tails, and Amy's equipment and the Phantom Rider as a whole. Yes, Tangle and Whisper kept the fact that the Phantom Rider was Sonic from her and she should have the right to know. But, Lanolin made it clear that she refuses to listen to Tangle and Whisper when they were hinting at the fact that the Phantom Rider could be trying to do something good. Lanolin just had tunnel vision, blinding her on any other possibility other than throwing the Phantom Rider in jail and never being seen again. She refused to acknowledge anything other than what she thought, losing Tangle and Whisper's trust in her when they tried talking to her. If you refuse to listen to those around you, why would they share anything with you at all? And the equipment, Tails is the Restoration's smartest and mechanically skilled member that we have seen. His personally made equipment all failed at the exact same time in the exact same way. That alone is suspicious and the fact tails even brought up something was wrong, Lanolin treated it as he was being a sore loser about it. You have the word of one of the smartest people on the planet, your expert in this field, the guy who could build a cunning edge machine from random junk potential says that the equipment was potentially sabotaged, Lanolin shut that line of thought down hard, once more bringing up the fact others can't trust you when you refuse to even question the possibility of sabotage when your expert says it might have happened. Lanolin keeps showing that she actively ignores and refuses the opinions of others. And a final point being in this comic. Lives are in danger, including Jewels, who is your boss, are about to be killed and your top priority is to arrest Sonic, to stop Sonic as he is trying to save lives and be a hero, to do his job as a Restoration member. Lanolin didn't go off to help the shuttle, she went after Sonic. In what world is arresting Sonic the correct opinion over SAVING LIVES, INCLUDING THE LIVES OF PEOPLE YOU KNOW AND CARE ABOUT! Here is Sonic, the famous hero who has always pushed himself in saving others, who acted as a villain to a race you just were told was run by a murdering terrorist who is with your boss! Your boss who is about to die! Lanolin never once thought that Sonic was investigating something suspicious, something both Tangle and Whisper concluded pretty much once they learned who the Phantom Rider was. She didn't think to save lives like she is meant to do, no, her focus was arresting Sonic. Sonic has never done something evil, he has his flaws, yes, but when push comes to shove, Sonic's number one priority is to be the hero, not caring about anything but saving people and stopping threats. For Lanolin, Sonic being the Phantom Rider is such a terrible thing it throws away everything Sonic has done to save and help people. That is my problem with Lanolin. She makes points that her teammates where hiding stuff from her but blew them off when they did try to tell her things. Her main goal wasn't to save lives or help people, but arrest someone capable of saving and helping others faster than you could do, to waste time on stopping someone who is trying to do the right thing. And trusting someone who you should be suspicious of over everyone else.
No matter how many try they can’t make me hate Lanolin. She’s not perfect she just trying to keep the peace for the people. She can listen but she can’t just blindly fall forward without reason.
In a way I'd love to see Lanolin go down a corruption arc, we've seen so many characters go from bad to good that it'd be kinda nice to see one go from good to bad, and considering her current standing with fans she's a good candidate
I do think that Lanolin was right in defending Duo. There was no proof about him being Mimic and all the lies he said can be pushed off as rookie mistakes. But, Lanolin should still have looked more into Duo when told of the possibility of him being Mimic. Mimic is a shapeshifter who murdered his old team without a second thought, and you don't have anything as proof as to Duo's background, just Duo saying it. With a potential shapeshifter among you, you need to be cautious of it and learn more about Duo before making that assumption, but she doesn't at all. Also the fact you are taking his old team's name and Mimic is known to be verdictive, so naming yourself after his old team with one of his old team members would get his attention. An example of something similar with the potential mole/spy was in Young Justice, Aqualad was told by a villain that they have a mole among them. Aqualad didn't believe it, but still investigated the possibility of there being a mole. He did what he thought was best and wanted to be certain that there wasn't a mole that could endanger all of them. I am not mad that Lanolin is getting tricked or of her more by the rules mindset, I am mad that she went from listening to people with more experience and knowledge to pushing them away and getting mad when others try and tell her something she either doesn't think is right without proof. She learned that life isn't all nice and that sometimes you need to act, that following the rules and playing it safe isn't the best action at times. And when she is later faced with anything that goes against "By the Rules", she acts arrogantly and is angered when some tries to tell her anything beyond her tunnel vision. Plus, she trusts Duo over Tangle and Whisper. She was shown growth and immediately 180 and went spiraling downhill.
Ah Clutch, your paranoia was your own undoing. If Clutch had instead of sabotaging team Sonic, kept Team Sonic busy by flooding them with so much of the festivities that no one would even think of getting close to him before he usurps control of the Restoration all mafia style, he woulda had a better chance.
Interesting that they haven’t mentioned what happened to Mimic. Sure, he’s on the covers for Issue 76, but Starline was on covers after he died, so it makes me wonder…
First Thing, Clutch is really lucky that Sonic isn't in the same room as them or else he'll get his lights immediately knocked out and sent 6 feet under the ground if Sonic witness him trying to shoot Tails and attempt to do it again with Charmy, Clutch is willing to murder children to get his way when he is fighting literal children with the expectation of Vector, Don, Nite Clean Sweep's Inc is finally busted the moment the public knew of their true nature and dirty crimes they did behind the scenes and everyone in the restoration is amazing in this issue and all of them is done dealing Clutch's bs, Nite is a goat and Jewel is such a queen with how much she had developed over the course of the whole story but unfortunately it isn't enough to stop Clutch from setting the shuttle to go downwards and blasting the main controls in attempt to take as much lives and casualties as possible in a "if I can't defeat them no one can" way back to everyone down on the track, Mimic once again tries to run away when the situation goes downhill and using whatever excuse he had on his sleeves like causing even more tension between the Neo Diamond Cutters to get away and being to cowardly to fight his way out with the possibility of being turned into calamari by Surge and Surge is not holding back anymore she's even willing to expose Mimic in front of everyone but man once she finds out he throw her under the bus by shape-shifting into her back on the race at Misty Spire and provoking Whisper to attack her then there's the elephant in the room in this whole issue Lanolin herself, girl can you think for a second how strange it is that Duo knows that Tangle and Whisper is hiding the fact they knew Sonic was the Phantom Rider when he allegedly supposed to be unconscious during the race in Misty Spire and right now he is trying to run away when he's supposed to be helping you guys to get everyone to safely and preventing the shuttle from crashing, can you self reflect how you've been treating your friends, teammates and everyone around you and you haven't been a huge player yourself and you've been kissing Duo's ass and taking his side for 4 races straight and siding with him ever since he arrived at the restoration not to mention, dismissing your allies concerns and warnings about who Duo's true identity is and how you've been too head strong and hell bent on enforcing rules and law upon everyone that you refused to listen to reason or look for outside inferences and jumping to conclusions after judging people's actions on the surface instead of trying to understand or find the real reason why the same reason why Whisper and Tangle were too hesitant to tell you now you have the irony to call them out for defending a criminal when you yourself(unknowingly) is doing the exact same thing also being a tough leader and an asshole is too different things and leading with an iron fist didn't do the team any better other than harm I hope you learned something in this arc Lan maybe then you'll be a great leader
People think she would understand if Tangle tell her early about Sonic, but here's the thing, she would have the same reaction because Mimic already planted the seeds in her head, how we know she's a understandable person?, now she dead set on putting Sonic behind bars without knowing what's going on, she let it go it for now, after this she won't trust everyone
I don’t think sonic cares if he is put in jail for what he did as he has suffered 6 months of Torture by Both infinite and Eggman when in space and he’d probably get out thanks to Jewel or his other pals as the whole clean sweepstakes was a scam anyway
WHO INSTALLED THE SELF-DESTRUCT FUNCTION!? A ship that big could’ve been used to rescue the ScrapNiks! Ah well, perhaps my theory with G.U.N being interested in saving and recruiting those guys will pan out instead.
@@poohbear4515 at least she was able to listen to Sonic, Tangle and Whisper in that stopping the ship crashing is first prioroty over catching the phantom rider
@@poohbear4515 Would you get over it if Mimic taunts her thoroughly after revealing himself or if one of the heroes gives her a "reason you suck" speech?
Sonic better think of something fast or his friends and thousands of people are gonna die in 30 minutes. I really didn't like Jewel or Lanolin's actions in this issue. Jewel screwed up by setting the ship to self destruct which going to go off in the engine room were Amy and everyone is trapped. and Lanolin has nerve getting angry and Tangle and Whisper and calling Sonic a dangerous criminal and saying he needs to face justice! I'm sorry but she needs to be kicked off the team and out of the restoration for good! My version of her in future videos won't act like this or be involved with Tangle or Whisper.
Clutch was about to hijack control of the Restoration Shuttle, which would have allowed him to fly it around the world killing anyone he pleased. Jewel couldn’t allow that, so she set the shuttle to self-destruct in 30 minutes, giving everyone onboard enough time to evacuate. It would have exploded overhead, and nobody would have been hurt. She had no idea how poorly Clutch was going to react to that. Lanolin was horrible though, I agree with you there.
@@SuperJamz64 I should add is that Jewel wasn't aware of Chaotix, Amy, Tails and Belle been stuck in Engine Room. So you shouldn't blame her for that. But I WILL blame Lanolin been complete dum-dum. And when she is later faced with anything that goes against "By the Rules", she acts arrogantly and is angered when some tries to tell her anything beyond her tunnel vision. Plus, she trusts Duo over Tangle and Whisper. She was shown growth and immediately 180 and went spiraling downhill.
Tangle's speech bubble looked like it was from Whisper? gotta be honest, I did NOT see that. donk!
He was mostly concerned about Amy recognizing him. What's odd is that he didn't seem to notice Sonic was there in the first place.
Spoiler alert, according to solicitation for Issue 76 & 77, Clutch escapes, while the Annual 2024 shows Surge and Kit following up on Starline's plans
You're supposed to hide spoilers when you give them.
Interesting that they haven’t mentioned what happened to Mimic. Sure, he’s on the covers for Issue 76, but Starline was on covers after he died, so it makes me wonder…
@@SuperJamz64 Were any of the ones Starline appeared on after Issue 50 an A cover or a B cover?
@ Yes, actually. He appeared on cover B for Issue 55. (He was also on Cover RI for Issue 55 and Sonic’s 900th Adventure, but that’s beside the point.)
@@SuperJamz64 Well, being on both the A and B covers pretty much is enough to expect him.
2:55 I thought it was clean sweep inc not Boeing
I could've sworn that there was a review of the 2024 annual I watched and you were the one who did it. But now I can't find it anywhere.
First Thing, Clutch is really lucky that Sonic isn't in the same room as them or else he'll get his lights immediately knocked out and sent 6 feet under the ground if Sonic witness him trying to shoot Tails and attempt to do it again with Charmy, Clutch is willing to murder children to get his way when he is fighting literal children with the expectation of Vector, Don, Nite
Clean Sweep's Inc is finally busted the moment the public knew of their true nature and dirty crimes they did behind the scenes and everyone in the restoration is amazing in this issue and all of them is done dealing Clutch's bs, Nite is a goat and Jewel is such a queen with how much she had developed over the course of the whole story but unfortunately it isn't enough to stop Clutch from setting the shuttle to go downwards and blasting the main controls in attempt to take as much lives and casualties as possible in a "if I can't defeat them no one can" way
back to everyone down on the track, Mimic once again tries to run away when the situation goes downhill and using whatever excuse he had on his sleeves like causing even more tension between the Neo Diamond Cutters to get away and being to cowardly to fight his way out with the possibility of being turned into calamari by Surge and Surge is not holding back anymore she's even willing to expose Mimic in front of everyone but man once she finds out he throw her under the bus by shape-shifting into her back on the race at Misty Spire and provoking Whisper to attack her
then there's the elephant in the room in this whole issue Lanolin herself, girl can you think for a second how strange it is that Duo knows that Tangle and Whisper is hiding the fact they knew Sonic was the Phantom Rider when he allegedly supposed to be unconscious during the race in Misty Spire and right now he is trying to run away when he's supposed to be helping you guys to get everyone to safely and preventing the shuttle from crashing, can you self reflect how you've been treating your friends, teammates and everyone around you and you haven't been a huge player yourself and you've been kissing Duo's ass and taking his side for 4 races straight and siding with him ever since he arrived at the restoration not to mention, dismissing your allies concerns and warnings about who Duo's true identity is and how you've been too head strong and hell bent on enforcing rules and law upon everyone that you refused to listen to reason or look for outside inferences and jumping to conclusions after judging people's actions on the surface instead of trying to understand or find the real reason why the same reason why Whisper and Tangle were too hesitant to tell you now you have the irony to call them out for defending a criminal when you yourself(unknowingly) is doing the exact same thing also being a tough leader and an asshole is too different things and leading with an iron fist didn't do the team any better other than harm I hope you learned something in this arc Lan maybe then you'll be a great leader
People think she would understand if Tangle tell her early about Sonic, but here's the thing, she would have the same reaction because Mimic already planted the seeds in her head, how we know she's a understandable person?,
now she dead set on putting Sonic behind bars without knowing what's going on, she let it go it for now, after this she won't trust everyone
Clutch is a crazy guy due to his rage mode…
Been waiting for this
I don’t think sonic cares if he is put in jail for what he did as he has suffered 6 months of Torture by Both infinite and Eggman when in space and he’d probably get out thanks to Jewel or his other pals as the whole clean sweepstakes was a scam anyway
Ooh awesome 😎
Sonic isn't going to be arrested again is he?
Not if Tails, Amy, Tangle, Whisper, the Chaotix, and Jewel have anything to say about it.
@@videogollumeryeah pretty much, and They’d probably be able to handle the false accusations sonics imposter did as him when he was the phantom rider
Well he was in jail for 6 months so this’ll just really give him a painful memory really
@@moathalmaghlouth8262 Being held prisoner by Eggman doesn't count.
(Pulls out Omochao gun) Not if my little friend has anything to say about it. 😈
WHO INSTALLED THE SELF-DESTRUCT FUNCTION!? A ship that big could’ve been used to rescue the ScrapNiks!
Ah well, perhaps my theory with G.U.N being interested in saving and recruiting those guys will pan out instead.
Clutch is such a one piece villain.
Out of the clutch Boi🙃
Lanolin continues to be an awful team leader and character.
True, but I think that will be something that can be worked on.
@ i dunno. She could have a change of mind/heart, but im still not over how she treated both Silver and Whisper…
Wrong
When can we expect the 2024 Annual review?
it already came out. to avoid spoilers, read it AFTER issue 75
@RobertJames-i8j No, I mean when is Megabeatman going to review it.
@@forgarate0648 oh, I see. (to myself) gotta stop doing that
Did you skip reviewing the 2024 IDW Sonic Annual?
for the sake of spoilers I suppose
Yeah a lot of errors but hey interested to see where it goes
How awfully ironic, when she yelled about Tangle and Whisper protecting dangerous criminal, but in reality she IS THE ONE who protects REAL criminal. I don't know about you, while I don't want to make lamb meat, however I WOULD be glad to make some dish out of that treacherous octopus.
