@@Teddingtinonly 200k? Damn if you were some sort of neurosurgeon or a anesthesiologist that make more then 100k (Like in the 990k range) then you can easily afford this 💀
These are a seriously quick, daily usable, car for the money and I’m seeing them everywhere. I’m hoping they depreciate quite a bit over the next 5-6 years so maybe mayyybe I can afford one.
Not sure that a 5-6 year old daily driven Ferrari is a good purchase. That thing is gonna be falling apart already just FYI, and good luck affording the repairs.
@@username8644 Just because I want a daily drive-able one doesn’t mean I want a daily driven one. A used Ferrari purchase is the same as any other used supercar purchase. Buying a car from a reputable dealer with good service history is paramount, and whether it’s a Roma or a BMW M4 it’s due to have it’s own quirks and pitfalls. And I highly doubt it will be “falling apart”. Some 458’s are already a decade old and are an excellent used purchase that are holding up well and are proving quite reliable, relatively.
@@sterlingsilver320 A decade old is nothing for a typical car, and those have likely barely even been driven and only have 20k miles, 50k at most, hard to call that reliable when it's barely been driven. Also I don't see how a superb condition, not daily driven Ferrari, will be cheap in 5-6 year. I highly doubt this it'll ever be a good purchase. Id much rather have an m4. Edit: this thing starts at 250k. That's easily 300k with some options for Ferrari. How will one that hasn't been daily driven in 5-6 years somehow be affordable. It isn't gonna lose 200k of its value. May as well buy a new 911 instead. And even if it loses 200k, 100k for a used 6 year old Ferrari seems very risky.
This spec is gorgeous. I knew when I saw you at Cars and Coffee this would be in a video, and it did not disappoint! Thanks for taking it to Larz and for the great vid!
Wow, that thing is a work of art. Best looking front engine Ferrari I've seen recently, almost getting into 458 territory ... almost, though IMHO the 458 is still the best looking car ever made.
The tear shape around town cars has become a segment in recent years, top of the line is this! i m glad Ferrari has brought his take and input into it.
I was not a fan of Roma when it came out but as the time passed I started to like this design more and more. I have no clue about Ferrari pricing, but if it's the current entry level Ferrari over the California and Portofino in the past, and a decent spec is still tens of thousands of USD away from any money worthy spec 296 or some used 812 then I would consider it an amazing choice. Not sure if that would be my choice of a daily car if I had that type of money but a good discount (in an alternative universe where the cars are sold without ridiculous dealer markups obviously) could make it a no brainer for me. The side mirrors look wonderful. The body looks beautiful. The engine bay is *chef's kiss*. A thing of beauty. Always love the more vlog-style videos, simply because of the quality of both video and audio you provide, glad I left this one for a good day to watch. :)
Your right, it's classy in those colors. Also great job taming that fishtail. I could feel the electrical shock you got from that haha. You then commenced in talking about it throughout the drive lol. Awesome content from beantown. Keep it up! 👍
The sound is so deep, almost like my old cadillac, but with a little more aggressive touch. I never liked the screaming sounds of all these sportscars, but this ferrari roma just sounds so noble. Nr. 1 reason to buy this Ferrari and not another one 🤣
Great stuff. I had a house in Brookline and used to really enjoy the events at Lars, lovely venue. Here in Chicago, I have to do a run up to Lake Forest for a similar experience.
Under a Nevada sun, that green would be beautiful. Perfect color combo. Fantastic ride. Only way I'd own it though would be if I could afford to ship it to a dealer for service or repairs. My nearest dealer is 300 mile away.
The car guy feel of going to a car show and just thinking to yourself: "I want that. And i also want that. And that, oh oooo and that too. That looks like a moneypit. I still want it tho..."
The Ferrari steering wheel LEDs turn on at 6000rpm. I've done a similar thing on my 370Z with a Vicrez LED steering wheel where I set the LEDs to turn on at 4500rpm. So during relaxed driving, which is 99% of the time, the LEDs are off and not a distraction. So when the LEDs do turn on it is special and adds to the driving experience. Main point is that when the LEDs are off it gives the illusion that the car has limited power, but that is not the case. So when the LEDs are off I tend to rev the car more and upshift later. By letting the LEDs decide when to upshift, and not looking at the tachometer, I actually drive the car harder. The steering wheel LEDs are much more fun and useful than just a few cutesy lights.
I don't know if mankind could produce a machine more beautiful, more aesthetically pleasing, than that car right there. There is not a single angle from any side that does not absolutely captivate. Remarkable.
There are many people who have more money than they know what to do with. It is nice to know that they can purchase an auto with more horsepower than they can handle. That's why we have tow trucks and body shops.
Basically I like everything about the Roma minus 2 t hings. The very front end of the nose and the ipads in the interior. Oh and the capacitive t ouch stuff on the wheel. Also in this dark green it actually looks better than the silver in the press photos or the red.
I was at the Larz Anderson for Boston Cars and Coffee, June 10th, pretty bummed I didn't run into you but super cool to know you were also there! Hopefully at the next one
“It already doesn’t want to Hook Up”. I see I’m not the only person that watches Randy Probst on Motor Trend. The Roma is all Ferrari. The current Aston Martin Vantage wishes that it was this Bellissimo.
Good video, Ted. It’s beautiful and fast, but I kind of miss the elegant, analog controls, the theatrics of the NA engine, real exhaust noise over fake, and the beautiful gated manual transmissions. I guess I prefer vintage Ferrari to new.
Agreed, but on top of that I’ve not been a fan of modern Ferrari styling for a while, besides something like the 488 and some other random cars here and there.
Nice car.. I'd probably go for the V12 Vantage if I had the choice. Not a fan of screens for buttons and the center gate gear design is interesting and I can see them paying homage to the shifters but it just looks REALLY cheap to me. The rest of the car looks OUTSTANDING!!!!
I know you criticize the idea of a red Ferrari at the beginning of the video, and I was that same way too. but one thing I learned over the years is the value of the heritage red color of Ferrari. The reason sports car teams use bright colors was to aid them in racing, so competitors would see them in their mirrors, and there would be an element of competition.. It would allow for an advantage during racing. Yet another way supercar owners are misunderstood.
Gorgeous Ferrari! ❤ Great video. @Tedward mind sharing the source of the instrumental that starts playing at around 08:35? Would be highly appreciated.
It's been a while since a new Ferrari made me fell in love with it at first sight. The Roma is the case. Sadly, Ferrari don't make manuals anymore... that would be perfect for a Roma.

Just got back from Katie's cars and coffee in Great Falls, VA. There was a red Roma there. Really great to see you drive one right after seeing one in the flesh (sheet metal?).

The rear design of this is so nice. It’s so smooth but looks so sharp and elegant aswell
With the 4 tips poking out like that and the curved back it looks like a throwback to their 335 S.
kinda looks like a modern version of the 550 maranello. thats why its so nice.

The Roma’s design is definitely growing on me. Such a cool car except for that big screen in the center which I bet is pretty slow and unresponsive
