A GT2 RS Tedward video with some coffee is a pretty good start to a Saturday morning. And yes, much better spec than the previous one, but to each their own.
insane how quick these are appose to the quietness of it's jet of an engine you'd really just hear the rigorous wind rushing by as you're being passed by this elegant machine. the engineers behind this did amazing. props to all the engineers out there, especially you tedward 🤙 great video
Digging the overall spec on this, especially that interior. The wood's surprisingly nice and meshes well with the rest. The wheels clash just barely with the carbon tones, but I can at least see why the owner went with the matching paint. Props to the owner for going with a spec of their own desire! As for that 3.8L biturbo flat-6, it sounds like a lower-pitched naturally aspirated engine to me, aside from the subtle turbo whistle. I can really appreciate it for having a character all its own. Rather than comparing the GT3 and GT2, I appreciate them both for what they are and accomplish.
Well I'll be damned! Luxury-focused interior with wood trim included...in a GT2 RS?! Talk about an exotic build. Whoever ordered this car knew exactly what they wanted. Very nice! Thanks, Tedward! \o_
I was going to say that the interior does not match the exterior or even the character of the car but everyone has their own taste... I would have gone lightest possible (no leather, no wood) alcantara in grey with time typical carbon and put the money in to tuning the engine, exhaust, suspension and brakes...
@@gambanteinodal1246 Exactly why I said, whoever ordered the car knew what they were doing, because it completely ignored the commonplace one would expect from such a model. It may not make any logic or sense, bu it was what they wanted, and it's exactly what they got. 😁
@@gambanteinodal1246back when the 720s configurator was up, I configured a 720s spider with all the lightweight/carbon fiber options and all the luxury/convenience options, it was the best of both worlds, i guess
This must be the most troll-speced porsche ever. Top of the performance line, yet with wood and colourful interior. I love every bit of it. Those black interiors and carbon shifter wont give you any performance and they look so dull and alike...
Shout-out to Tedward for recognizing that a "This is why we can't have nice things" moment could happen when in a GT2RS. But there are still some QUALITY accelerations in this video. It would be a little frustrating to essentially be relegated to gears 1-3 on the street, especially given how quickly they come and go... A track day would be a MUST for this car.
Obviously it's no where near the calibre of this car, but this is exactly why I traded my 370Z in for an ND2 MX5. I just prefer being able to rev out an engine and shift more than two or three gears before breaking the speed limit.
@@Jake-im2lv That is awesome. I definitely know what you mean. When I had my IS 350 I felt it wasn't super fast, but chasing opportunities to rev it out was part of the enjoyment.
@@kennethsev7243 I’d have to see it in person and I’m sure it’s nice, I think a light or saddle brown would have been nice, with the exterior not a dark color and a light color on the inside would make it appear to open up into a match larger space than what’s actually there. Again, to each their own. I’ve definitely seen worse, so hideous was possibly a little too harsh of a statement.
Small correction: The track in the seat stitching that comes with the Weissach package isn't the Nürburgring, but rather the test track that Porsche uses to develop their cars in their development center in Weissach near Stuttgart in Germany, hence the naming :) Awesome video!
Bloody love the GT2 RS, this has the best spec interior ive seen on a GT RS and working for Porsche UK, I get to see some special spec'ed 911's but this is exquisite.
The turbo sound in these is unreal. Drove one on track in Vegas - the video doesn’t do it justice. Like a plane taking off each time you get over 4K rpm
Actually I like the sound of this Turbo engine much more than the much heralded sound of the n.a. GT3 rs. This sounds more deeper and much more powerfull. Like it doesn't need to shout, it just knows what it can do. And those little pops and bangs from the turbo valves give it just that little edge of aggresiveness.
Yea well if the guy paid almost $500K I imagine he can just swap out a new one if it gets really filthy. Surprised it wasn’t blue like the rest of the interior
Wow never seen such an interior on a GT2, that's crazy, and probably very rare. The wood is horrible in this type of car, in my opinion. Apart from that it's a really cool spec.
I actually reaaaally love the Wood in this Thing. Yeah its a crazy lightweight track version but the Interior has that 60s gentleman GT Car Vibe to it.
I would also spend 6 figures on customizing the interior no questions asked if i had the budget. I love this spec, especially the interior. Im tired of all carbon interiors.
Love your videos and commentaries! Also, as a born & raised Massachusetts boy (regrettably now in DeSantisland), I really appreciate seeing familiar streets, highways, and countryside. Keep up the great work!
15:26 couldn’t agree more. Everyone is straight piping their supercars these days and it’s just obnoxious. It doesn’t make them sound any better and most of the time doesn’t make the sound better but worse, but just a lot louder. The gt2rs has something classy about it not being loud, but still being able to beat anything on a track.
You have a great job one of my favorite cars to be sure. Not the interior I would have chosen that's for sure I feel like wood grain belongs in a luxury car and white steering wheel c'mon.
It's definitely not the best sounding Porsche ever made, but once you start driving it, I doubt that matters much. This thing looks like a weapon from behind the wheel.
EXACTLY. MONEY WELL SPENT! (PO: I would never get a brown wooden trim with this blue interior and definitely not a tan-colored steering wheel.) Plus, ON FACEBOOK, I SEE POSTS OF PEOPLE TRYING TO GET GREAT GAS MILEAGE ON THEIR MACAN, 911S, GTs, etc. It's unreal! Porsche was never and won't ever be for people who seem like penny pinchers and worry about how thirsty their Porsches are. It is mind-boggling to me.
GT3 sound is as objectively better as anything could be haha… I wear earplugs while riding any sport bike but my Ducati 1299s with an akrapovic exhaust is pretty loud. But so is going 150-190mph haha..
I agree, you're a good driver Tedward. Don't be like these degens. I don't get these comments, PDK is perfect for the track. Instantaneous shifts, it's what you need on the "track". I don't get it. A manual is perfect for some cars and not so perfect for a track purpose vehicle like the gt2rs.
Seeing how you get up to speed at 10:00 makes me see why you treated it the way you did. My jaw dropped to the floor.
The "ticking everything" spec

Lol that's me right now.
Not a fan of the gloss wood details on the interior or the light coloured wheel and vents.
Woodgrain in a GT2 RS feels as appropriate as two-way adjustable carbon bucket seats in a Maybach.

So crazy how the "special requests" note on the window sticker is more than a 992 Carrera S
Someone was real busy with the EM configurator. And it looks absolutely breathtakingly amazing
He surely can be confident no one else will have an interior spec like that. Unique, to say the least.
That’s an amazingly specced car. Crazy aggressive on the outside and old school luxury on the inside.
It is terrible on the inside imo. Obviously, its all subjective. Great car in general tho...

Overall like the spec of the car except for the white steering wheel. Yea, that will stay clean.
Spec is almost super sick. The wood trim & steering wheel is just a zonk. But, I’m not the one with a GT2 RS so, cheers! 😊
