George will never get an apology from me until he releases the theatrical versions of the Original Trilogy on 4K and admits that he was wrong to try to erase them from history. Oh, and he has to let me write a Prequel Trilogy remake, because the movies he made aren't good.
@@G360LIVEThey are much better than your attitude. It was his series, not the fans. We are just fans. While we are important to the series, we still aren’t the creators.
It really is insane how Disney managed to drive away Star Wars fans. These were fans who kept the franchise alive for decades between movies. They gobbled up prequel merchandise and theatrical releases of special editions even though they were very vocal about their misgivings for both. Disney even had a strong head start in bringing fans to their side after the Force Awakens but blew it all away. The amount of fanbaiting, political pandering and just plain bad writing needed to drive away fans is so massive that they couldn't have done much worse if they tried.
They DID try. They hired gender studies grads and the "new feminists," the cancer of this era. NOBODY could ruin Star Wars by accident... unless they were seriously retarded, and even then, they could STILL tell Round Head and Jar Jar to hold their Adderall!
Yup! I'm one of them. The thing I wanted the most was to see Han, Luke & Leia together again. They made sure I will never ever see that. Carrie is dead now. So I'm done now.
You mean the guy that had 10 years and three movies to do another good Star wars movie and went 0 -3 The guy who insisted Kathleen Kennedy be left in charge of lucasfilm? Sometimes, you have to notice that someone's good decisions were a long time ago in a galaxy far away
As longs a he de-canonizes Disney Wars trash ASAP and brings the best of the EU to the big screen? Sure! Take it George! Wipe away the stain on your legacy!
nah, we will get nothing if Lucas will buy it. He said it that he sold star wars becouse he knew that he will not be able to create any new star wars movie
Real Star Wars fans know that George needs good writers and editors around him, not yes-men who never question his bad decisions. That's why the OT is great and the PT is cringe. Oh, and real Star Wars fans also know that Filoni and Favreau are frauds. They can take a walk to wherever. Who cares? As long as they're nowhere near the set of anything Star Wars ever again.
Theyve done it already before. They bought Power Rangers for 4BILLION and sold them back to the original creator for 60 mil. So you are wrong there. And its not up to them anymore. Disneys working capital is shrinking and shrinking and their debt is going up. Its either start selling some of these things or risk losing them entirely and not getting a dime for them.
Correct. Selling it would only create competition. I have no doubt that eliminating that competition was the reason they bought it in the first place. Every couple of years, Star Wars toys used to eat Disney toys' lunch back in the day. Don't even get me started on what happened at the box office when Disney movies outright stank back when the OT was released.
@Jimjam Disney doesn't have a choice: they have 200m in liquid assets, hundreds of millions in shareholder lawsuits they can't dodge incoming, and a contractually obligated purchase of the remaining shares of Hulu... to the tune of _6-9 BILLION_ dollars, a contract they made back when they thought both Marvel and Lucasfilm would be an eternal overflowing fountain of liquid gold... next Spring. Their movies have not been nearly profitable enough for the last seven years and they banked so hard on Marvel and Disney+ to carry them they dumped all the profit they DID make from the parks into Disney+. It is basically, sell or die.
@@GuukanKitsune I just agree with what was said in the video, it would be a wash at best. Maybe what you're talking about is a total fire sale of the company itself. That would be a best-case scenario for the franchise in the long run.
@@jimjam51075 They have to liquidate assets, if they don't they go bankrupt. Disney basically hasn't much choice unless a total miracle happens... and Lucasfilm is a tempting sale target and they know it. And they know they can get 1-2B out of LUCAS for it.
The Drinker made a good point, despite being highly skeptical of these rumours. Even if Disney keeps the franchise, it’s a dead brand which will make ZERO dollars(thanks to screwing up every OT character) in the long term, thus it being an albatross around Igers neck? It will ONLY become profitable again when the slate is wiped clean, with an entirely new staff and president.
There are many rumors that Apple will buy out the entire Disney corporation under a merger but I wouldn’t trust them with Star Wars. There’s no way George Lucas would buy back Star Wars unless he really pushed himself to assemble a team full of passionate people to work on this overtime.

If he did buy it back all I can see him doing with it is putting it on the shelf just to safe keep it. Maybe some books games and series set before or way after the OG or something, but the time to actually make a Lucas sequel trilogy that is a continuation of Luke’s story is gone. Granted at this point I’m all for just declaring the sequels noncanon and that the EU is back.
Yeah get rid of current "Disney Cannon" and bring back the original EU. Though I agree with the chance to make a good Luke's Story trilogy after Episode 6 has long past.
Emperor Iger has let the door open for the media to destroy Darth Kennedy's reputation as the head of Lucasfim. So I think she will be fighting for their bonuses and retirement money from now on.
Kennedy getting canned (or retiring) within the next few years is a LOT more probable than this. Lucas is almost 80 and has never been a particularly fast worker when left to his own devices, even if he did buy it it'd just because Mickey was firesaleing it and he wanted to extend a final middle finger, not actually do anything with it.
I agree so many rumors and clickbait videos of KK being ousted for 5 years and I just don’t believe it anymore. It’s more likely mothman would fly out of the sky right now than it is ( however much I wish was true) that KK is being let go or George Lucas is buying back his intellectual property.
Even a company as big as Disney can only handle so much financial loss. If the reports are true about how much Disney owes Comcast and honestly it’s probably worse than we know, I would say that Disney might have to sell just to keep the lights on. It also isn’t unprecedented, they sold Sabaan back to the original owner of the company prior for a loss. As for Lucas buying it, I think he’s had regrets since the sale. The white slavers comment and the fact that he considers them his children. If legacy is important to him and I think it is given his original intent behind the sale was to keep them in the public consciousness. Then I’m sure he wouldn’t want to see his universe in the state it currently is.
If , as Jeff has outlined, Disney will follow the course by keeping Lucasfilm , it begs the question: How do they expect to make their money back by keeping Kathleen Kennedy in charge- someone who has proven herself incapable of reaping profitable success? They clearly cannot achieve this objective with her. It's inevitable that Disney faces and deals with this reality. There's nowhere else for them to turn in the long run.
KK aside, it's crystal clear that Disney have made their choice with regards to the identity politics garbage (look at the fight in Florida), or at their animated classics remade poorly. They're still going to want to push that crap in Star Wars, just today I read about how the new tv show will be run by a transgender (man dressed as woman) who claims, "It must be in the show, because it's part of my identity, and I must put that in everything I do."
Scene opens up on an artic wasteland. Camera sees a squirell chasing an acorn. Squirell trips over a branch, release a butterfly from a cocoon. Butterfly lives and dies, becomes stuck in the mud and preserved. Eons go by. Rock breaks because it was stepped on by a young Kathleen Kennedy. Kathleen sees the preserved butterfly and is fascinated. She gives up her idea of being a movie producer and becomes a world famous paleo botanist instead 🙂
@ianjurica4031 with enough money you'll get Ford and Hamill back. Yeah there's nothing you can do about Fishers death but with clever writing (if Lucas brought in outside writers while he directs) you could still do a great story and explain Leias death in someway. You don't need to explain it too much. People understand that she's dead in real life and these films were made after. It's not the biggest problem
Most of corporate America is ran by MBA idiots who have no business being in management at all. Disney is no different. They have zero respect for the creatives and only care about their own bonuses.
There are two lessons here. First, you cannot commodify art. Yes, you can (and should) sell it, but you can't make it a product. Second, a great law of power. If your fans give you a hard time over your creative decisions, sell your property to a group you know will take it down a dark path and just wait. The fans will BEG for you to come back. Attack of the Clones will NEVER be as bad as even The Force Awakens. Lucas had to know The Rat was going to screw things up. Man, I love George Lucas.
b-but fan backlash didnt cause George to sell it! prequel haters told me so! they ignore the videos of George saying he was fed up with the backlash, but ignore those!

I'll believe it when I see it. And unless they're decanonizing the ST and correcting course from all the damage that was done, just selling it back to Lucas means nothing.
He’s NOT buying it back. He sold it mostly due to fan backlash to his dreadful prequels. You think he wants it back after fan reaction to the sequel trilogy???
You can guarantee that if this ever happened, Disney would put in a clause where Lucas couldn't de-canonize what they made, at least with the sequels, anyway. The same way Disney couldn't mess with the OT.
I genuinely hope he is and at the same time feel terrible for him. Not only has he watched Disney virtually destroy his life’s work, but I can’t even imagine the uphill battle he and a newly formed(woke purged) writing team will have on their hands winning back the fans(new and old) after all the damage Disney has done.
Declare ALL of 'canon' to be purged. Reinstate all of legends to be canon again. Let the IP rest for 5 years while slowly working on a new trilogy, set 100 or so years after the battel of yavin - in a post-empire galaxy divided between 5-6 factions, 2-3 Imperial factions, the New Republic and some new ones sprung up post-empire. The galaxy's at total war. Introduce new heroes from several factions. Make it big sci-fi war-drama with massive space and ground battles. No modern-day politics, no 'representation' nothing, just hard-core Star Wars Sci-fi war goodness, fair showing to all sides, no 'good guys' no affably evil antagonists. Humanize all sides. Let the fans decide on their favorite characters etc. Win back the fans.
I'd be fine if his only purpose was just to get it back so he could take his time finding a good buyer. Nothing star wars for, say, 5 years is just fine if a sale can be secured to someone that is willing to follow the vision. He might just intend to stop the pain until his death when the franchise can be sold from his estate which would prevent any more shredding of his legacy while he is alive.
I'd watch a Lucas-made new Star Wars just out of sheer screaming morbid curiosity. I dunno if he could salvage it, but I'd at least wanna see what he could come up with.
He’s NOT buying it back. He sold it mostly due to fan backlash to his dreadful prequels. You think he wants it back after fan reaction to the sequel trilogy???
I don't think he is the only person that can save it but it is critical for the health of the IP to write off the Disney era films as a start. Bringing George back might help in the short term but we are better served by finding someone younger to continue building what he started.
I don't wanna step on any toes, but can we just let Star Wars... end? I miss when it was just a story. ONE STORY. And like all good stories, they have a beginning, middle and END. Nowadays companies have serious problems letting franchises end with grace, and always fall into the trap of turning it into their cash-cow. Simpsons, Family Guy, SpongeBob, and Pirates Of The Caribbean kept going. And look where it got them. In contrast, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Gravity Falls, the DuckTales reboot, the Lord Of The Rings Trilogy and Harry Potter all knew when to end, but when sequel-series or -movies to some of these were made marked the point when first real negatives arose.
I don't think TFA really divided the fanbase, it was more like people were disappointed that it was too safe and a rehash, but there was still a lot of buzz and hope that they will do cool stuff with 8 and 9. Many people rewatched TFA multiple times, hype was at a high level as well as fan theories and it was the 3rd highest grossing movie ever at the time (5th currently). TLJ was the giant sledgehammer that slapped aside everything Abrams set up, however imperfect it may have been, and also destroyed the lore, characters, philosophy and spirit of the entire franchise. If 8 and 9 were good, built upon each other and everything presented a coherent trilogy with a new and interesting story and actual developed character arcs I believe 7 wouldn't be looked at negatively in retrospect. But they just winged it from movie to movie plot-wise while at the same time having different directors with completely opposite creative visions. Nothing good could have come of that, Kathleen Kennedy is a complete and utter disaster and I wouldn't trust her to manage a lemonade stand.
I was out after 7. They already sold it as a trilogy. You can't have your main character defeat the big bad in the 1st movie. The prequel sort of did this but also sort of solved it by Darth Mall was gone. Ray defeating Kylo by herself in 1 both in force powers and in combat took away any reason for there to be 3 movies unless Disney was doing some kind of weird Kylo trilogy which I don't think they were doing. The protagonist has to meet with difficulty so they can get stronger and come back and win next time. It gives the feeling of character growth and progression where if your character just picking up scrap has taught them to shoot down 2 tie fighters with 1 shot it's just boring.
Your all-time box office comments are inaccurate. Movies coming out from 2009 onward create their own modern chart. There's no way to compare them with what came before, because demographics (available markets) changed. This isn't even considering adjustments for ticket price inflation. A properly adjusted all time chart places 1977's Star Wars at #2.
@@Drak976They changed the script mid-course after sampling fan reactions to Finn in the teaser trailer. I believe the original story arc chronicled Finn’s rise from Stormtrooper to Jedi Knight. Leaving things relatively open gave them some wiggle room. They got cold feet after the racist backlash on the grapevine and put in reshoots to redirect the storyline to Ray. The original trailer showcases unused takes. Finn and Kylo lock gazes after Kylo dispatches his father. This they left in by accident, perhaps. On balance, either Finn or Rey were candidates to become Jedi in TFA, Finn having more sword fights. Who handled Luke’s lightsaber first? Finn. A handful of shots one way or the other make the difference. They always destined Rey for her role, yet still set things up for two candidates. Ryan Johnson derailed the original direction with his complete nonsense and irreverence. JJ Abrams’ hint at Finn’s force sensitivity in Episode 9 is proof. He offered that in case #9 generated more movies.
I originally hated TFA as just a flashier "A New Hope", but after I watched the disaster that was Episode 8 under Rian Johnson, it made me appreciate Episode 7, for the simple fact that it had a beginning-middle-end. Episode 8 had a hodgepodge of plot points, but just half assed everything to the point that I can't believe someone higher up at Disney didn't say, "I'm cancelling this movie and waiting till an competent person can bring me something worthwhile!" Still haven't watched Episode 9.

I’m torn when it comes to the future of Star Wars. Part of me thinks that Star Wars really should’ve just been the original trilogy and that’s that. But another part of me knows that in the right hands, Star Wars could continue with some amazing stories. Unfortunately, Disney is caught between playing it too safe and pushing a social agenda.
I know that there’s no way this is the reality, but it’d be so funny if this was his plan all along. Like after the reception of the prequels he got pissy and decided to show everyone what bad Star Wars is.

In less than 10 years,Disney has ruined their animated films,Star Wars,Marvel,Indiana Jones and the hopes and dreams of their fan base. Most of the problems could be fixed by getting rid of the 3 people responsible but the board doesn't have the guts to get rid of them.
I can't help but wonder if George Lucas is so embarrassed by what has happened to Star Wars that he wants to buy it back just to get it away from Disney. He may not want it, but he can't force a sale to someone else without buying it back. No idea what's really happening but I sure hope he's regretting what he's done by selling it to Disney.
As a Star Wars fan, I can say with absolute certainty that disney has ruined it ! If Lucas were to buy it back, we all would see an amazing transformation with a new breath of life in the films !
We have now reached a point in history where just watching the news & witnessing the feuds going on within/between mega companies has become far more entertaining than the actual content they deliver.
Disney feature films have been going down into loserdome for years before they even tried with StarWars... it was as clear as day that their vision is bankrupt...
I'd be fine with more (good) Star Wars set in the Old Republic era, but like you said, I'm sick of everything set in and around the current era. Too much of it diminishes what came before, but the Old Republic still has room for exploration and was my personal favorite era of Star Wars.
George never should have sold Star Wars to Disney to begin with i knew they we're gonna butcher it,SW will always have a special place in my heart and I've loved it more then anything nerdy growing up
His fatal error was thinking Iger was his “friend” when in fact he’s part of the same cabal who wouldn’t give him the light of day back in 1976 to make a “silly space film”. It was all a set up, to earn George’s trust, only to backstab him in the end? That’s what Hollyweird is all about.
Why would he want it back? It's a big steamy pile of Bantha pudu! It's like buying your old house back from people who cooked meth in it or turned it into a brothel. You can clean it up but there will always be a slight stink in the air.
I completely agree with everything you said in this video. Just like you, I'm burnt out on Disney Star Wars. I always love Pre-Disney Star Wars no matter what, but I am now going to let go of Disney's fraudulent version of Star Wars..... forever. And I am at peace with that.

The only way that I would watch another Star Wars property is if it was made directly by George Lucas. And even then, if there was ANYTHING that was a reddish flag, I'd be out. But yeah, the biggest reason why this rumour can't come to fruition is that Star Wars isn't worth 4 Billion anymore. Anyone taking on Star Wars now has to spend at least 2B to have a chance to scrub off the tarnish from Disney. (3 good movies, good toy lines, good tie-in IP like video games, marketing, etc.) And you have to, in essence, start from scratch with the audience, as we've fled - which I'd peg at being worth at least another 1B in costs to try to entice the audience back directly. Essentially, anyone taking Star Wars right now is doing Disney a favour, and no one is going to pay Disney to do them a favour.
WCBS, you've made great videos about the black Cleopatra and how she insulted Egypt. Can you make one about how Dial of Destiny is insulting Greece by insulting the intelligence of Archimedes? He wasn't stupid enough to rely on someone in the future to randomly piece together his device in order to save his life. He would have used his device himself, as soon as he realized he was soon to die. Archimedes was a man, so of course a woman had to return to his time to save him, according to Disney. Dial of Destiny is designed to belittle TWO old guys.
You don’t understand the business world then. EVERYTHING is for sale..for the right price. If Elon Musk for example offered to buy it for 8 billion, Disney would jump at it.
They don't need to. A little thing called antitrust will take it away from them. That's right, Disney is going to be broken up and dragged all the way back to the 1970s.
@@stanfordite1 There is nothing about antitrust that prevents Disney from selling off the SW franchise to whomever. That is not what antitrust regulation is. Antitrust is to prevent monopolization of an industry that hinders a competitive market.

Elon could offer $16 billion and they still wouldn't sell it for the same reason Sony is never selling the rights to Spider-Man no matter what offer they're given either. It will make them way too much money to keep the rights than is worth in a sale. Disney has the extra incentive of already wanting to own everything it possibly can and monopolize the entertainment industry. (And forget Elon, the dude is a hack whose net worth is built on lies and grifting. If any offer were made it would be by Bezos for Amazon Prime. It still wouldn't ever happen, but it's at least better fanfiction to think about than Elon pitching a sale.)
I think that the best hope (A "new hope" if you will ) is for GL to buy Lucasfilm from Disney, immediately fire KK, install people he's properly vetted, and then create a roadmap where the franchise could be taken after he steps down and enjoys retired life 2.0. Just my take.
My hope is that Lucas buys the company back and gives the reigns to someone who actually loves and respects what Lucas created, because it’s dying under Disney’s reign.
Love and respect for the franchise is not enough. J.J. Abrams and Rian Johnson were as big of fans of SW as the next guy, but that didn’t prevent their respective entries from being so hated.
@@ForceMaximus84 I understand what you mean, but having a great idea or vision in doing that is one thing, but executing the material is a whole other. A lot of ideas looked great on paper, but ended up sucking. Plus it’s subjective.
Time to stop listening to Doomcock and Pasha. Never going to happen. The royalties alone Disney would have to pay for all the Lucasfilm park IP it owns means they keep it.
Oh yes it is. A little thing called antitrust will be taking Lucasfilm away from Disney and that means all Star Wars attractions will be done for. No one will miss Galaxy's Edge and everyone will welcome back Disneyland's Big Thunder Ranch BBQ in its place.
Twenty years ago, I would never have thought that it would have been possible to destroy Star Wars. Disney could have just produced Extended Universe IP movies for the rest of time and created a cash machine, instead, they appear to have driven the IP off a cliff for no apparent reason. Its hard to destroy a fan base since fan is short for fanatic, but Disney did it, how the fu*k did that happen? Its got to be intentional, no one could be that incompetent, right?
There's a difference between criticism and hostility. If there wasn't so much of the latter from Gen X Star Wars fans in the wake of the prequels, George might have thought twice about selling off his creation. "JJ Abrams should direct Star Wars," that sure worked out, didn't it
Even kids and teens hated the Prequels, the only people who have nostalgia for them were like 3 when they came out. George should've thought twice and hired a writer. Blaming fans for him selling out to Disney is just bullshit. He started this path when he started shoving crappy CGI into the Originals, and it's been one bad decision after another ever since. Besides, people were way more pissed at Indy 4 than the Prequels, people just plain didn't like the Prequels because they're plodding and the dialogue is shit, but Indy 4 legit ruined the trilogy's perfect ending hat-trick with more crap CGI, a bad color filter over the whole film, showing a 70 year old Indy, and painfully boring villains going after a fake artifact nobody cares about instead of just making a live-action Fate of Atlantis film like he should've done.
@@gc3k Hardly. The only good thing to come from the prequels was the Clone Wars cartoons. The films still suck ass and have shit dialogue. When "fans" of the Prequels talk about them, they talk about fifteen minutes of the third act of the third film and the Darth Maul fight in the first film. Nobody is nostalgic for the remaining 95% of those films.
Main problem: StarWars isn’t for adults anymore, it’s a kids franchise now (been since the prequels). It was in a bad place when Disney bought it and all Disney did was drop it and get more dirt on it. How to fix it: They need to get away from the nostalgia well and make new storylines. Example the Mandalorian season 1 new storyline new characters great show, they then start adding the old characters (boba, Luke, padma ship) the show starts to tank. Also look at visions, rogue one/ andor, some of the animated shows, new stories new characters works. It just over for the old cast / characters. They are completed characters already, did we see any growth in the characters on obi-wan. No, we watched the same story play out that we already saw in clone wars. New stories, New characters, leave the OG saga alone. (Other then a short cameos)
“Let Star Wars die. Kill it if you have to.” You’re totally right Rian Roundhead Johnson. I personally have no interest in it, and I have only watched a single film that Disney has done, Rogue One. I knew Disney Star Wars was going to be bad so I didn’t bother with any of it and I’m glad that was my stance.
Crazier things have happened so it’s entirely plausible it can happen Maybe deep down in bob igers rotten heart there’s still that small part of him that loves Star Wars as a child and he’ll come to his senses for a second and say to just sell everything back to George and demolish the parks Maybe just maybe, you just have to believe
Disney sold Power Rangers because they gave up after Overdrive. Power Rangers wasnt a flop under their run. Disney didnt see the brand as Disney. Ironic that the Disney Era of Power Rangers was considered to be the best. Saban bought it back and made it 10x worse
George Lucas will not help. Remember he brought us Chrystal Skull, return of Jedi, Temple of Doom, after Empire nothing ever came close. He doesn't make movies to entertain anymore, he makes them to appeal to kids so he can make billions on merch.
Disney thought: George you sold to us. So the circle is now complete. When you sold to us we were nothing but a big company but now we are the Master Lucas: Only a master of Woke Disney. If you change my stories I'll become more powerful than you can possibly imagine
He should: 1. Give them more than it's worth 2. Lie about his intentions 3. Fire anyone he needs to 4. Erase their films from canon 5. Revert to the intended story line 6. Reunite the original cast with CG characters 7. Create the greatest feel-good, action / adventure fantasy of all time, with Luke and Ben Solo, the ass-kicking heroes we were robbed of.
He trusted Kennedy, he trusted Disney, they didn't care, I hope he succeeds and cleans house. Never trust a career bean counter with creative endeavors.
When they bought Lucasfilm from George, 1.8 billion of that sale was in shares. Lucasfilm has become a liability, Disney stock is falling. They will absolutely consider selling it back to George to get those shares back. To my understanding, getting those shares back will increase their dividends and signal to investors that they believe their stock price to be undervalued, encouraging investors to buy their stock. Basically the value of Disney will go up, especially if Lucasfilm has any debts tied to it. Whether George will want it back is a different question. I hope he buys it just to put it to rest.
I’ve got a radical idea for Disney or whoever owns Star Wars…. Maybe put time, care, and effort into the series and not view it as an “asset” to make money. Let’s make beautiful movies for the love of Star Wars. :( money rules all
I had a co-worker who was really stoked to see "The Last Jedi" at midnight. He came in the next day absolutely crushed, his dream ruined. And he had pre-bought a ticket for another showing so he had to see it a second time!
I just find it strange. Why announce all these new Star Wars related shows and movies and now these rumors says they want to sell it. It makes no sense.
The only reason I believe this might be true, is because it’s happened once before. Or did everyone forget about the time Disney sold Power Rangers back to Hiam Saban?
This rumor seemed to be started by Doomcock, aka Overlord DVD and his sources. I really doubt this rumor to be true for the following factors: 1. Disney will not admit they were wrong and screwed up on the franchise. 2. Disney will not sell (back) an IP that may bring competition, they are more likely to keep it in a vault than sell it. 3. Lucas probably has no intention of buying it back as he said himself he wanted to focus on his personal life. 4. Most other studio companies are either already owned by Disney or the other studios (not owned by Disney) would not be able to afford what Disney would likely offer. The only way Disney would sell off SW is if they went bankrupt.
Apple or Amazon would buy it. They got into streaming purely to flex their financial muscles since it's an expensive side hobby for them among with the spare billions from computer and electronic hardware and retail sales. Heck, either of them could buy Disney.
@@jimmyboy7817 That could be a possibility, but I still think Disney won't let it go out of fear someone could do it better than them and it would create legit competition.
@@jimmyboy7817 Disney, Apple, and Amazon are all getting broken up in the not too distant future. Amazon will cease to exist while Apple will be reduced back into nothing but a computer maker, and Disney itself will be put back in its place as nothing but an animation studio with some theme parks that has to make decisions by asking "What would Walt do?" again.
I totally agree with those ending thoughts on Star Wars. With any big production, whether that be LOTR, Star Wars, Lego Movies, Indinan Jones... Lucas played the long game. He knew how the fans would react to disney star wars, cause he experienced it first hand with the special editions and then again with ep 1 thru 3.
Hopefully George will buy back his dream child and fix all the damage done by Disney by erasing the Disney trilogy completely and bring back what's left of the original cast and finally give the fans the continuation we've wanted/ waited for for so long.
Been a fan of Star Wars for over 30 years, then it got destroyed within 5 years. The death of Star Wars was official with the release of Obi Wokenobi. Now it's unrecoverable. It's dead. I don't care what they do, if George buys it back or if it fades away. To me it's dead.
I saw Star Wars in the theater as a young boy (multiple times) and have been a fan ever since. Disney Star Wars has made me become apathetic, I just have no desire to watch any of their new content, most of it is trash and messes with canon (Kenobi...cough, cough). It would he fantastic if they sold it back to George. Anything is better than Disney at this point. Maybe George could put together a talented team to fix this mess.
Lucas also sold Lucasfilm because he wanted to explore making smaller, experimental films and he didn’t want to risk impacting the livelihoods of his Lucasfilm employees.
@@AlanSmitheeman I wonder if he’s making them but not releasing them publicly? Maybe he’s trying out different filming styles etc. or maybe he’s focused on enjoying his marriage.

I have no religious beliefs but if there were an equivalent of "Selling Your Soul" it would be when Lucas sold to Disney. At this point I just don't see any buying it back. And why would he want to. With the damage that Disney did to the franchise, how would Lucas handle or fix it?? For me, Star Wars was utterly & unforgivably destroyed in Last Jedi when Rey handed Luke his lightsaber and Luke just tossed it away like it was meaningless. And my other big problem was how Disney treated all the Star Wars books like they were meaningless to the story line. I know A LOT of fans debate whether or not the books should have been acknowledged in the Disney Trilogy, but I personally think there should have been some consistency between the two. I mean, seriously, why would Han and Leia name their child Ben when that name has little meaning to them (as compared to Luke). Anyway, why would Lucas want anything to do with the disaster that Disney created??
I was a huge Star Wars fan since day one; now i couldn't care less. That's the magic of Disney.

So true. Only Bud Light has done more to alienate their customers.

Disney would rather let Star Wars sit down another twenty years than selling one of their properties to anyone, especially their creator.
@Jimjam
Disney doesn't have a choice: they have 200m in liquid assets, hundreds of millions in shareholder lawsuits they can't dodge incoming, and a contractually obligated purchase of the remaining shares of Hulu... to the tune of _6-9 BILLION_ dollars, a contract they made back when they thought both Marvel and Lucasfilm would be an eternal overflowing fountain of liquid gold... next Spring.

I’m sure it’s profitable, just the merchandising is everywhere. Costco, Hobby Lobby, Wal Mart, Target, Best Buy…. Baby Yoda is literally everywhere.

Emperor Iger has let the door open for the media to destroy Darth Kennedy's reputation as the head of Lucasfim. So I think she will be fighting for their bonuses and retirement money from now on.
At this point I agree. That witch should have been fired after TLJ yet she still exists.
George could retcon everything KK and Disney did to SW and Indy. Fans would celebrate and come back.

There was always going to be a prequel and sequel trilogy though.
“You will beg for George Lucas before the end.” Our Prophet, Razorfist.

Essentially, anyone taking Star Wars right now is doing Disney a favour, and no one is going to pay Disney to do them a favour.

He would have used his device himself, as soon as he realized he was soon to die. Archimedes was a man, so of course a woman had to return to his time to save him, according to Disney. Dial of Destiny is designed to belittle TWO old guys.
There’s absolutely no way in holy hell that Disney will EVER sell their milk cow!!
@@kramalerav I think you misread that. Antitrust is going to be used to break Disney up and take away everything they bought including Lucasfilm, Marvel, Pixar, ABC, ESPN, the Muppets etc. The Muppets will be handed back to the Henson family on a silver platter by Uncle Sam.
@@kramalerav You are the one who does not understand the business world dude, lmao. Disney isn't ever selling that shit.
“We’ve completely destroyed this IP, now buy it from us for a lot more than what it’s worth now.” - Disney probably
Best I can do is $20 bucks. -pawn stars
@@kramalerav By respect, I mean fulfilling Lucas’ vision in the main story and create side-stories that are original but honor what came before.
@@ForceMaximus84 I understand what you mean, but having a great idea or vision in doing that is one thing, but executing the material is a whole other.
A lot of ideas looked great on paper, but ended up sucking. Plus it’s subjective.
@@kramalerav Agreed. Having or following one vision is better than two (originally three) guys trying to tell their own story.
I would love Star Wars all over again if George buys back the IP, and decanonized most of what Disney did.
Time to stop listening to Doomcock and Pasha. Never going to happen. The royalties alone Disney would have to pay for all the Lucasfilm park IP it owns means they keep it.
You're assuming that the film, animation and parks divisions don't also get spun off. This may not be the current leadership's choice.
It's too late. The damage has already been done.
He doesn't have to work with what Disney made. He could just delete it and make something new.
@@Knowbody42just like what Disney did to star wars
@@Knowbody42it's like Lucas is gonna pull an uno reverse card on Disney.
I doubt Lucas could buy it back if he even wanted to. He gave a good portion of his money from Disney away to charities and built a film museum.
*** Disney Never made StarWars movies. They made Social Justice Movies
Kill it if you have to.”
You’re totally right Rian Roundhead Johnson.
I personally have no interest in it, and I have only watched a single film that Disney has done, Rogue One. I knew Disney Star Wars was going to be bad so I didn’t bother with any of it and I’m glad that was my stance.
Crazier things have happened so it’s entirely plausible it can happen
Maybe deep down in bob igers rotten heart there’s still that small part of him that loves Star Wars as a child and he’ll come to his senses for a second and say to just sell everything back to George and demolish the parks
Maybe just maybe, you just have to believe
Disney sold Power Rangers because they gave up after Overdrive. Power Rangers wasnt a flop under their run. Disney didnt see the brand as Disney. Ironic that the Disney Era of Power Rangers was considered to be the best. Saban bought it back and made it 10x worse
God I hope so 🤔😂
George Lucas will not help.
When you sold to us we were nothing but a big company but now we are the Master
Lucas: Only a master of Woke Disney. If you change my stories I'll become more powerful than you can possibly imagine
I used to be one of the biggest Star Wars nerds, but, thanks to Disney, I'm basically apathetic to every new Star Wars thing coming out or announced
He should:
1. Give them more than it's worth
2. Lie about his intentions
3. Fire anyone he needs to
4. Erase their films from canon
5. Revert to the intended story line
6. Reunite the original cast with CG characters
7. Create the greatest feel-good, action / adventure fantasy of all time,
with Luke and Ben Solo, the ass-kicking heroes we were robbed of.
He trusted Kennedy, he trusted Disney, they didn't care, I hope he succeeds and cleans house. Never trust a career bean counter with creative endeavors.
I Rejoice in the Fact Disney is going Bankrupt! They have EARNED THIS!!
I'm so tired of society mismanaging resources with such a bullshit system of account and value.
George Lucas should sue disney for lying about how they would direct it. and destroying it in the process...
Long story short, Disney went woke and broke and have blown their legs off with a bazooka.
He was out at 68 years old but somehow he's going to want to give it another go at 80. Life doesn't work like that boys and girls.
No offense, but Power Rangers isn't quite in the same tier as Star Wars. They'd have to be very, very desperate to sell Star Wars.
If he dose he can bring it back when you grow up with something you don’t want it to die as soon as KK has to go
Disney basically saying, “yeah we don’t know what we’re doing. You can have it back.”
This rumor seemed to be started by Doomcock, aka Overlord DVD and his sources. I really doubt this rumor to be true for the following factors:
Like kind of sad that they didn't bring back relics of the past like Shadows of Jedi and Sith from the Old Republic
I totally agree with those ending thoughts on Star Wars.
With any big production, whether that be LOTR, Star Wars, Lego Movies, Indinan Jones...
In the words of a psychotic villain;
"You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain".
Let it die. You will be remembered better if you do.
I think Disney would try bankruptcy proceedings to reduce that debt first if they really do owe that much.
I’ve literally been saying for years that “I can’t wait for the day George buys back Star Wars and void most of Disneys work from canon”. Please
Betteridge's law of headlines is an adage that states: "Any headline that ends in a question mark can be answered by the word no."
"No one could have foreseen this." Uh... I knew immediately upon hearing the news in 2012. Disney is the worst and was terrible back then too.
That’s what you get prioritizing DEI! The real Star Wars episodes 1-6 period!
Imagine purchasing the most fertile farm land on earth, and on it, you plant nothing but cactuses.
Lucas played the long game. He knew how the fans would react to disney star wars, cause he experienced it first hand with the special editions and then again with ep 1 thru 3.
yeah - its like 'Rings of Power' - Disney Star Wars lacks authenticity - It's just not Star Wars
And I can't find a thing about him making any of these experimental films. He's been talking about that since the 1970s.
@@AlanSmitheeman I wonder if he’s making them but not releasing them publicly? Maybe he’s trying out different filming styles etc. or maybe he’s focused on enjoying his marriage.
@@WyzGyzEntertainment I think he's spending most of his time raising his youngest child and enjoying family time with his wife. I believe he's also constructing a museum. He has stated that he very much enjoys building projects and he found creating the buildings around Skywalker Ranch to be very satisfying for himself during the time he was the head of his seven companies.
He doesn't have to continue making Star Wars, he just has to get away from Disney.
Funny how people be crying for George Lucas are the same people who bashed him when the prequels were out 🤦🏻
