i think the way DG sings it stays true to the original while the guitars add so much power to the song its badass its a great take on the sax part without changing the song it makes sound so much more rock i love it.
I disagree with you with all due respect....having grew up with the original it was the guitar riff that attracted me to the cover (having already been a foos fan to begin with) I was blown away by it...as a musician myself I feel the opening riff is far from cookie cutter but just another way to play it and a cool idea....when I first heard it I was like "Yesssssssss" LOL to each their own tho.
I totally concur with anyone who has a special place in thier heart for this song and feels foo f's version is a bit of a cheapening of the song, but it is an interesting take on raffertys original. Sabbath meets ELO. As an experiment, it's cool.
sorry. This sounds like a poorly recorded garage band cover of a great song. I get what they were trying to do..but I think they completeky lost what the writer was going after. I would have applauded at a bar.
Nice try but the way the guitarist takes Gerry's soulful sax and turns it into a cookie cutter repetitive riff completely destroys the soul of the song. Somehow these guys have managed to cheapen a song that has always been of deep personal signifigance to me.

That's spectacular. Love me some Foo.
A fine cover. I love the guitars ‼️
great tune...love the original also!...
I love the original but damm they made this their own!!
that riff is JUST SEXY!
Old Light does a way better cover of this song, but it doesn't seem to be on youtube. Yet
the drums sound more kick ass too
I fucking HATE the original. But Foo did it so its not so bad when I hear original in grocery store now. Thanks Foo Fighters.!

Not the same without the wailing sax.

This version more realistic: Crack/booze, for nomand these days it's more likely
drums are better but that's it.
