Eder I couldn’t agree anymore. They could put it on a new album and it would still be a massive hit. It’s a shame because they rarely perform it at shows.

One of my favorite songs of all time that will not be found on any regular streaming service. I bought the Godzilla Soundtrack on cassette at a Strawberries in Auburn MA after seeing puff daddy perform his remix of Kashmir / Come with me on Saturday Night Live (live). I was pleasantly surprised at just how great a soundtrack it actually was. A never-heard-before Silverchair track... RATM, Ben Folds, Green Day, Fuel, Jamaroquai! Haha.... Such a great snapshot of the end of an era before Cassettes were completely obsolete, Cell phones were non-existent, and people were not judged based on their political leanings, but rather on things that truly mattered.... like whether their windpants had two stripes down the legs, or three....
Foo fighters are one of those bands where you think you know all their songs yet you continue to find hidden gems that make you rethink how well you know the band. Dave you are a connoisseur and a true pioneer of rock. You never cease to amaze me.
If the Foo Fighters ever stop making music, this had better be the last song they play in concert. The ending just says "Farewell, it's been fun, but I gotta go now."
True. and i agree with him. Dave has a lot of great work under his belt. but this song he wrote really is a Master Piece. I've got vid' of him saying he can't play this song because blah blah owns it and he'll be sued. He played it anyways and the fans went nuts. Gawd I love Dave.
Is it because it was on the Godzilla Soundtrack and whichever record company has the rights?? I don't understand why he couldn't play one of his own songs?
@@steve9341 He can play the song it but only if it isn't part of anything brings any revenue or value to him, so if he plays in randomly on the street or his backyard for anyone to hear then it's allowed
Never having a chance to say goodbye. Such a universal theme that resonates with every single human being on this planet at some point in our lives. This song makes me think of Taylor and how he probably never had a chance to say goodbye to those he wanted to. Us fans sure wish we had one last chance to say goodbye to Taylor. One more concert, one more album, one more anything, as long as he was in it. A life cut too short. The Foo's nation is broken. We love you Taylor and we miss the hell out of you. I hope you are at peace
This is the only song Foo Fighters recorded when Franz Stahl was in the band on guitar, which explains why the guitar tone in the last 3 minutes sounds so much different to any of their songs before or after this.
Saw them live for my first time ever with my wife at Bonnaroo a couple of days ago and my god they were so fantastic live! When Foo played Auora cause it was Taylors favorite song that they made... wooof that was a gut punch seeing the boiz look down before playing the song. Taylor you are definitely missed and may you rest in paradise... :(!

As someone who grew up with LimeWire, and eventually FrostWire, im sorry, Dave, and band for not buying your albums or songs on any format. I was young, had no money, and didn't know any better............ The foo are forever one of my top 3 favorite bands ever.
Hardass guitars and orchestras or strings together is so underrated and underutilized. The contrast is so satisfying. I agree but even the puffy song with the orchestra was bad ass. I heard that song on letterman or Saturday night live or something and I was in awe is why I originally got the album but like some of Yall this album introduced me to silverchair and holy crap they got some awesome songs too but yeah even the song at the end of this album I loved it too. And jamiraqui that song was funky I loved the whole album lol
This song will always remind me of the time my girlfriend left for collage two states away.. We basically spent almost all of 2013 with each other.. I played and sang this song, Walking After You, and Still to her when she gave me her last hug.. Not to sound tooty frooty or anything, but I get choked up everytime I play this song.. Knowing she's there, and I'm here.
This is a beautiful song. I remember hearing this from the Godzilla Soundtrack back in the day. Once I found it I was compelled to save it to my playlist.
I have too many favourites and they change from time to time - that's the magic of Foo Fighters - you might briefly go off a certain song but you never go off them as a whole - they're just too good
This could have fit right in on There Is Nothing Left To Lose. In my opinion, thats their best album. The pure high fidelity and flow of that record is stunning.
dude holy shit that riff towards the end sounds sorta similar to the "where will i wake up?" part from The Teacher. idk if it was intentional but it hit me in the chest all the same
I've got a live recording of this song where Dave say's he doesn't have the rights to this tune, but he said he loved the song and said Fuck it and played. I love Dave.
fun fact: this is the only original song Franz Stahl, their short lived guitarist between pat and chris, ever recorded with the band. Franz also has a writing credit with this song, makes you wonder if this is the direction the band would've gone in if Franz never got fired.
"Walking After You" was actually on the colour and the shape in a different form because dave performed by himself for that album. when they redid it for the x-files soundtrack, the whole band joined him.
I bought the 'Godzilla' OST album when I was in Tenth std(or tenth grade). We had to learn 'Wuthering Heights" for English and somehow the novel and this song got stuck together in my head forever. Every time I hear this song, I find the novel and read a chapter or two from it....

This song is a hidden gem that not many know about. It’s actually featured on the 1998 Godzilla soundtrack. Just in case you want a high quality copy of the song.
Damn, Taylor Hawkins somehow manages to make a complex drumming arrangement seem tasteful. We'll probably never know how he did it, but he did it, and it's awesome. :-)
I'm afraid of airplanes too, but in México, quite a few air lines use A-320's planes, that's the cool part, reminds me of the Foos and these song eveytime I get to fly.
(Possibly) unpopular opinion: This is my favorite Foo Fighters song.
Not unpopular
100% with you on that!
This is the most beautiful Foo Fighter song no one has ever heard. Period.

The songs normal and kiss the bottle are brilliant

it'd be deffinitelly everlong but ok

Krzysiek Kapera I do this too! I feel like I've heard all of their songs, then find one from ages ago I've never heard! This one is great!

My thoughts exactly. I was having a rough day and found this and damn...what a great discovery.
This may be a 7 year old comment but just stumbled on this song. Beautiful.

Yeah, Stahl was only in the Foo Fighters from 97-99.
Nate’s bass work on this one is some of his best.
I can't stop coming back to this Foo song. Been listening to it since I was a kid on my PSP. Best Foo song ever!
Same

I remember having the soundtrack cassette back in 1998.and this was the song I rewind and listen again and again.i was 13 that time!! Time flys!!
this was the first cassette tape i bought with my own money. i was 12! i love this album so much.
Good times.
Godzilla soundtrack. My aunt gave me the CD as a gift in my 15th birthday. Jolly good memories.
I used to do that to in the same year buy i was 11
I was 13 years old and I won the cassette in a radio contest where you had to mention three bands from the soundtrack.
That was the first song by FF I ever heard. It touched me very much back then. I have loved them ever since.
There's a place I love to go
And strangers takin' me there
Dreamed about the day I learned to fly
I'm afraid of airplanes
Even though I like the way
It feels to be a person in the sky
It's alright
And it's good
This time
I look out and on the ground
Really don't believe it
Gravity can pull me from this height
One day, we'll come crashing down
What will I do
Never had a chance to say goodbye
Close my eyes and hope that it's a
Real smooth flight, this time
Close my eyes and hope that it's a

Aaah, look out, we're going down

they need to release a B-Sides album.

2020.. anyone still here? Amazing song right here..
No. no one is here in 2021 even. We're all dead.

Thinking about the Godzilla soundtrack brought me here
2021
I just thought of something... I fly A320's all the time for my business!
Good planes, never once did I think I would be the guy in this song.
Sounds like a lead up song to the teacher ,epic👍
the end really does
Movie soundtracks in the 90's really were the best.
This song is the perfect bridge between TCATS and TINLTL.
Nail on the head. Also some of Nate's best bass work.
This and Silverchairs Untitled is an all time favorite from Godzilla's soundtrack. Would someone please make a lyrics on screen vid of both. Thanks
yeah those are my favorite too! too bad silverchair don't do these type of music anymore..
No Shelter's good too. The drums on Brainstew are good but quite quickly the additional *muck* ruins the song.
Ya that soundtrack Introduced me to silverchair and foo fighters👏 great album shitty movie
Yeah wtf how do such dumb movies get such fucking incredible soundtracks?

Their B-sides are better than most bands A-sides
Andrew Thomas agreed! I fucking love this song!
I agree. Red hot chili peppers have some really good B-sides aswell
Most of FFs besides are better than a lot of their own Asides. Colour and the Shape, Butterflies, Petrol CB, Milk, Podunk, Winnebego......etc....
Not a bside
sooooo damn true..the entire B side of the In Your Honor album was mindblowing!
I forgot how much I loved this song. The reprisal of this soundtrack has been a nice side effect of the new Godzilla movie
The Godzilla soundtrack is so freaking good
And here I thought I was the only one. Thank you.
This album has been a huge part of my life since childhood.
Soundtrack...amazing! Movie...sucked!
Minus Diddy butchering Kashmir

Any good news?
This is a beautiful song. I remember hearing this from the Godzilla Soundtrack back in the day. Once I found it I was compelled to save it to my playlist.
They need to release a compilation album called what you may have missed along the way. It would have gems like this and b-sides.
Its off The Godzilla soundtrack, a really under rated and great song by the Foo Fighters
This song is very TINLTL era. This song was from just before then. This is like a preview into what was to come. Intriguing
just found this again. i had it on the soundtrack cd back in the 90's. That ending is awesome!!!!!!

This is an amazing song. This brings back memories of high school...it's kind of strange when nostalgia hits you harder than usual, huh?
After thousands of listens, the outro with melodies fading out is all I hear.
