And I don't think Ventress would take the time to conceal her face with a mask, if she wanted you dead she would make sure you knew it was her that did it.
After a while, Ahsoka should have realized that "Ventress" got shorter. So she should have been like "Okay you're clearly not Ventress, so why do you have her lightsabers? Who are you and what have you done with her?"
Jonathan Mocke I don't think barris wanted to frame Ashoka but since she got so close to discovering her, she had to do it, it would be cool if Ashoka later on went and talked to her in prison but I doubt it cause she had a bad experience visiting a prison ;)

***** I didn't say she did poorly. I'm saying she would have done better. Saying she would have done better doesn't mean she did bad does it? Ahsoka utilizes Jar'kai version of ataru which concentrates on using 2 lightsabers.
I was thinking while watching that she only had her shoto. Most of her moves seem defensive. I though she lost her other Saber. Just an assumption no facts to back up.
OK, it's time we set this straight. Ahsoka was absolutely *exhausted*. She has been running for days, with no food, no water, no shelter and most of all no one to help her. She's successively managed to get away for days despite the entire Republic being on her tail, fighting clones, wining every battle (except when Ventress attacked her from the back) she had to face. Not to mention she had to deal with an EXPLOSION (1:46 ) unlike Barriss who hid in time 'cause she 'd planned this. And let's not forget her *emotional condition* & mental health. Under those conditions, I 'm surprised with how well she fought!!!
You're right. I was weak, deprived of nutrition, exhausted, stressed, and dizzy. I was on the run for days without any nourishment. In addition, I'd become pretty dependent on my shoto.
Analyzing the fight, it's very safe to say that Ahsoka was disadvantaged at every turn. She had been on the run the entire time, and was likely exhausted upon arriving at the warehouse while Barriss was in tip-top condition. People think that if she had her shoto to dual-wield in this fight, she would've won, but it's not that simple. When the fight started, Barriss attempted to ambush Ahsoka, failing due to Ahsoka's swift evasion after being pushing into one of the barrels. They then went head-to-head, proving to be quite equal. Barriss attempting to mimic Ventress' dual-blade style to trick Ahsoka, but we can tell her recreation is more flawed and heavily reliant on the use of feints and trickery, unable to break Ahsoka's guard and ultimately coming to a brief stale-mate as they strike eachother with a forward kick. She lifted her saber into a Makashi posture to reinforce the idea that she was "Ventress" to Ahsoka, then used her knowledge of the warehouse to her advantage, using the force on a large object placed perfectly to fall onto Ahsoka, though Ahsoka evaded. I theorize that Barriss immediately realized that she is not guaranteed a victory against Ahsoka in a straight-up fight, and even if she did, she would likely expose herself, and thus she opt'd to fall back into a defensive retreat. We then see Barriss fall back into the shadows onto the next floor up, putting Ahsoka on her toes. In an effort (succeeding) to break Ahsoka's focus, she used the force to disrupt the surroundings to instill fear into Ahsoka before immediately going onto the offensive. Ahsoka, with her single blade, barely manages to ward off the 2 sabers momentarily, but could not react in time to receive a kick. She quickly recovers, albeit showing signs of fatigue. Instead of pressing her advantage, Barriss took a safer option, retreating further up to a previously placed trap that she then sets to throw Ahsoka off, certainly hoping it would actually connect. Ahsoka manages to avoid the trap and the tables turn in the favor of Ahsoka, who takes the opportunity--surprising Barriss--taking the offense. Barriss relies heavily on her acrobatic evasion, forcing Ahsoka--who is visibly tired--into giving chase. Barriss simply uses the movement of the fight to lure Ahsoka into her final trap, causing gas to hit Ahsoka, momentarily stunning her, before setting off an explosion. By the time Ahsoka gets back up, we see her reeling, and intimidated by Barriss' imposing figure. Barriss takes this opportunity to blast Ahsoka into the crates behind her, disarming her, then allows Ahsoka to attempt one final attempt at an offense before stunning her with a jab then using a kick to send her hurtling down to the levels below. So basically, Barriss recognized that Ahsoka was at least comparable to her in a physical contest despite having a single blade, and decided not to fight her simply due to the clear signs that she could lose, and opt'd to use the environment that she is familiar with in order to secure a victory. Not only this, she stayed on the defense for most of the fight to avoid taking any potential damage from Ahsoka, only attacking once Ahsoka exposed herself. The fight was all about deception and securing the idea that Ahsoka would take the fall for the crime. Barriss performed this, albeit with some hi-cups. Ahsoka took the advantage at one point despite having so many factors against her. Had it been a neutral arena and Ahsoka had her standard set-up, Ahsoka very well could have won due to Barriss' clear lack of mastery with Jar'kai, and Ahsoka's superior agility and resilience. Here, she was down a weapon, and had spent the entire day running from the clones. Not to mention the fact that Barriss has been at this warehouse and should thus have extensive knowledge of the layout of the interior--and she was preparing for this fight while Ahsoka was caught totally off-guard. Barriss used confusion (via Ventress' mask and sabers. Ahsoka could not comprehend why Ventress would suddenly attack), the environment, physical condition, and superior weaponry to win this fight. All of these factors would not be present if they engaged eachother in any other fashion. Ahsoka would have been the likely victor.
Great and on point analysis. Ahsoka is extremely talented and has had a lot of experience by that time, it makes sense for her to be more than a match in a straight fight.
Thank you. Everyone is talking about how ahsoka didn't have her second saber to utilize here style but fail to mention how Barris had to use a lightsaber form that wasn't her own in order to mimick Ventress. This is a very situational duel for both of them and so many factors came into play. Nobody is going to sit her and tell me that either of them would beat each other in a fair duel. Their feats are very similar at this point for me anyways
@108617912426737637606 She changed her fighting style completely after she got her self the second sword. Her older fighting style was not as efficient as you may think, that's why she build a second blade. Gotten way better feats with 2 lightsabers.
"sees Asoka one of the most promising padawans in the academy, beaten, burned, lost both of her light sabers. Yep that's the sith get her and arrest her with a mock trial." Asoka is proven innocent Jedi Council: "well that was your test I think you're ready to become a Jedi" "Asoka says hell no and leaves" Jedi council: Surprised Pikachu face
I know she is a bounty hunter, but a couple of hours earlier Ventress ambushed Ahsoka while wearing that mask. Ahsoka doesn't even know Ventress that well, considering they have only met 1 time before this.
@@bluepanther1013 Well, the thing about that ambush is that Ventress flipped up her mask very shortly after ambushing Ahsoka. So the other guy's comment still stands, I'd argue. But yeah, your point about Ahsoka not knowing Ventress well is a valid one.
And the fighting style is COMPLETELY different. The biggest giveaway though is the lack of taunting and insulting. That's one of Ventress' signature quirks.
I *love* the shot at 2:09-2:10. There's something about the framing, the colours, the shot composition, that just speaks to me. Barriss looks incredibly intimidating, slowly advancing on Ahsoka, while lazily tossing that quarter of a ton metal sheet aside. Being backlight by that roaring fire is such a cool effect. It's a shot symbolic of her journey - she is stepping out of the light, into the darkness. And she is leaving utter destruction in her wake by doing so. Ironic though, that this choice by Barriss causes Ahsoka to leave the Jedi Order, which almost certainly saved her life when Order 66 came.
dont know if it was intentionally or not but I love how barris attacked with one saber at a time instead of swinging them both. makes it clear shes not used to dual wielding
how damn naive is she...barriss and ventures' style are drastically different. and since barriss is suppose to be ahsoka's best friend, how did she not notice that!
+Shade's Archives How many times has Barriss used dual lightsabers? Sure, she doesn't necessarily copy Ventress' style, but dual sith lightsabers aren't normally her style either.
J Hilt257 Anakin was above the level of battle of almost all the Jedi of the temple, exect by Mace Windu, yoda, and perhaps Obi wan, he could have been a Jedi Knight, but he was well above that level, and in that version Barris is a Padawan, not a Jedi Knight
Barriss is such an intriguing and tragic character to me. I don't really get why she gets as much hate as she does, to me she's way more appealing than a character like Pong Krell, who seems to be on of the other most hated characters (rightfully so). She obviously did some horrible things, but her ideology was so interesting. And she was in many ways right (not in bombing the temple and framing Ahsoka, but in her view of the Jedi). The Jedi were being corrupted. They'd been turned, in may ways, into a military with the purpose of furthering the Republic's politics. Obviously they did a lot of good as well, but it makes a lot of sense for a person like Barriss to be so disillusioned with the Jedi-- especially when she's told that the Jedi are meant to be peacekeepers, and all she sees is war (often for political purposes). Barriss was a child soldier who was most definitely traumatized by war, and she was one of the few Jedi who realized that the Order was losing its way. She did horrible things in the end, but unlike a character like Pong Krell, I felt kinda bad for her at times. Fun fact, she and Anakin were the only two padawans to survive the first battle of Geonosis. It looks like they aged her down a bit in the show though, because she didn't look like a child in Attack of the Clones, but she's definitely at least a few years younger than Anakin here.
I think its because the Inquisitors are weaker than the Jedi that were in the Clone Wars, as well as Kanan is out of practice and Ezra is just starting, but season three should be more fast paced now so HYPE! :D
whenever it came to saber vs saber it seemed like Ahsoka was superior. Barriss pretty much ran every time they crossed blades, and was forced to rely on the force and her environment.
What really bothered me about the clone wars is the following: It starts as a kids' show and turns very dark eventually. I love this. Ahsoka is a good main character becouse she turns from a dashing playful lightsaber swinging kid into a somewhat tormented adult that has to face complex issues. However, the complex issues she faces seem mostly manifested by the fact that all the jedi around her do NOT grow up, they remain kinda single minded and deluded from start to finish, and make dumb decisions troughout the almost all of the last four seasons. The fifth season shows this best when Ahsoka gets obviously framed and the ENTIRE jedi order just fully derps out on the regular. They are so amazingly dumb, its almost confusing. This is where the show loses its 'believability' for me. The dark side has to win, becouse the jedi are morons.
+Sumtinrandom This wasn't mentioned in many sources but was something planned if the show had its planned final season. The Jedi Temple was apparently built over a Sith Shrine and the residual dark side energies was actually leaking a bit, and Palpatine was taking advantage of it as the shrine was clouding the Jedis' vision, masking his true motives and identity until it was too late. It was introduced in the 2014 Novel Tarkin.
That is why the Jedi Order failed, they let themselves get played, that is what Anakin, Ahsoka, Barriss, and The Grand Inquisitor all saw and is why they all left the order (Though granted all of them except Ahsoka turned to the dark side)
@@Icybubba Anakin didn't leave the order because he saw through the bullshit they were, he left only because he has one reason left to live and that was for Padme. Nothing more
I have a theory on Barris's sudden heel turn. I think Sidius is the cause of it. He may have given her knightmares, possibly of warped visions of the jedi taking over or something along those lines. I say this because her actions only helped Sidius, and came completely out of left field. Pong Krell's betrayl didn't help him any, nor did ventress's, aura singh's or Quin lin Vos, but Barris bombed the jedi temple and sowed distrust of the jedi in the republic and framed one of Anakin's closest allies which lead to him having an even greater frustration with the Jedi order. The only way that could have gone better for sidius would be if obi wan and Yoda were caught in the explosion.
I remember watching this when I didn’t know how this arc ended but I sure as hell knew it wasn’t Ventress, god this whole sequence of events is the best part of this series
+Hayden Rowse She had changed her fighting style completely since then, so she relied heavily upon her shoto. She is a lot more effecient and skilled with two lightsabers. Plus Ashoka was already exhausted from escaping.
The odds were really stacked up against Ahsoka in this fight, not to mention she was exhausted and without her shoto lightsaber. I would really love to see a rematch between them in Rebels where Ahsoka gives that bitch the beating she should have had in this scene.
Gaius Rodriguez well...yeah? Its not really much ro brag about tho considering barris wouldn’t be any more powerful. Like throwing a wolf in a dog fight.
Someone in the comments mentioned how Barris was ungrateful because Ahsoka saved her from the mind worms, but I see that as a failure on Luminara's behalf (and the Jedi beliefs altogether). Luminara was ready to let Barriss die because she had no attachment to her padawan. This must have rubbed off onto Barriss and even though she saw Ahsoka as her 'friend', she betrayed her, feeling no remorse, showing how that aspect of the jedi beliefs was ingrained into her through her master
Barriss obviously planned this attack because she knew Ahsoka was the superior duelist. She had every attack planned, and we know this due to the nanodroids planted at the crime scene.
@@apomtaylor8054 Because Ahsoka beat her in the brain worm episode and she is being trained by Anakin Skywalker. The attack was obviously planned and she clearly studied the environment judging by her perfectly getting Ahsoka into when hole where the bombs are planted. Additionally Ahsoka only had one lightsaber here so she couldn’t use one of her main forms which is Djem So
@@rashrasha921 Firstly, show me your source where it states that Barris fought exactly how she would have if she wasn't infected with the worm. Secondly, being trained by someone great doesn't mean the student is also going to be great. The Grand Inquisitor and Inquisitors were trained by Vader yet they sucked. Thirdly, Barris also was not fighting with her natural form. She had to use a form that she wasn't as prominent using in order to pose as Ventress. Nobody mentions how Barris wasn't using her natural form either...
@@apomtaylor8054 Not how it works darling. You’d have to prove Barris fought differently than she usually does which you can’t since that is her first fight in the show.
I think the main reason she lost is just from being tired, she'd been going through so much and hadn't had any time to rest alongside not being able to use her preferred style/the style she's best at without her second sabre this doesn't prove Bariss was able to beat Ahsoka (though it does prove she's a cunning fighter by this point) just that Ahsoka at her weakened state couldn't fight Barris
It definitely doesn't prove ahsoka could beat Barris either. Barris was also at a disadvantage. She wasn't using her natural lightsaber form either. She usually fights with one but had to use a form that she wasn't as versed in in order to pose as ventress. People always fail to mention this...
@@apomtaylor8054 Fair point - but I still think Ahsoka had gone through so much and was in such a weak state when the battle started that we can’t say Bariss would beat her with them both at their best
@@Tom-xt1jn 100% agree, although Barris sucks for betraying the order they are both badasses and I hope we see them two finally go at it for a final time or maybe even make up.
I know she is absolutely horrible to her supposed best friend and betrays the Jedi but I kind of love Barriss almost as much as I love Ahsoka. Her "I think it suits me" line in her fight against Anakin gets me every time, and she really was prepared to do everything for what she believed in - her impassioned speech at Ahsoka's trial proves that.
*Ahsoka:* Ventress! I see you had a change of heart *Me:* That's not Ventress *Ahsoka:* What?! (Dodging lightsaber attacks) *Ahsoka:* What do you mean "that's not Ventress" *Me:* She's too small
not only did ventress have a change of heart, she also changed her clothes. now she is wearing a black cat suit with a cape, and ahsoka doesn't even question this for second. also l love how the policeman says "calling all units, suspicious activity on level 1315" you mean that explosion? yeah l think something like that can get a higher classification.
You mean the suit of ventress barris stole? Yeah, suuuuure what a waste... Clearly you did not watch the entire episode, ventress wears that outfit all the time!
Through action,a man becomes a hero. Through death,a hero becomes a legend. Through time,a legend becomes a Myth. And by learning from the Myth,a man takes action.
Man THIS is the Barriss I was hoping to see in Tales of the Empire. Embracing her dark side, being ruthless, a deadly Inquisitor of the Empire. She was the model of an Inquisitor before the Empire was even created, and she didn’t even know it Instead we got a redemption that did and didn’t make sense. Barriss is naturally a caring character BUT after committing heinous acts like bombing the temple, almost killing Ahsoka and publicly denouncing the order during trial, she randomly decides that the dark side isn’t for her? Man idk
Disney Star Wars is just trash. This Barriss was different from her EU self but god, Disney canon ruined her. Nerfed her into a rookie just to rapidly age her and kill her
Well considered that the final episode leaves it open, so it is not known whether she survived or died, but if she post would even make "sense" her return because she was a healer so it is likely that she is alive, thus having the possibility of meeting Ahs
She was never cut out for the Sith philosophy, is the thing. She turned against the order because the Jedi were no longer living up to their spiritual ideals and were waging what she correctly recognized as a meaningless war, which her efforts were meant to put a stop to. While this did mean a fall to the dark side for a time, her beliefs and motivations were still firmly in what the Jedi had always preached. Being forced to act as a Sith Inquisitor was anathema to her. If she couldn't stomach the wartime efforts of the Jedi, she certainly wasn't going to be able to embrace the sheer barbarism of the Sith.
I just have to wonder about this- how did Ahsoka not realize this wasn't Ventress. Jedi are highly trained combatants, especially Ahsoka due to her main mentors (Yoda, Anakin Obi-Wan and Luminara) being the best duelists of their era. That also means they're taught to read their opponents, learn how to adjust to their fighting styles in combat to overcome them. Yet here Ahsoka just goes with the easiest explanation, not stopping to think about things- Barriss was wearing the wrong outfit for Ventress, using a less stylized form of Ventress' dueling, and acting extremely coy, as if to lure her somewhere. This goes against what Ventress is known for, as she's largely stealth and then explosive flare, getting in close and then retreating to strike again. Ahsoka has fought with and against both, but fails to read Barriss enough to understand her style.
See I knew this had to be barris even before they revealed her as the villain in this arc, I pay attention to the fighting styles the Jedi and with characters used throughout this show, and I have an easy time identifying a character simply by their stance and the specific way they swing a lightsaber, there’s so much form 3 in this fighting scene it was no brainer, because form 3 was luminaras style, and since we didn’t see luminara throughout this whole arc and instead they decide all of a sudden to give barris screen time when we haven’t seen her since season 2, I put two and two together it had to be Barris
Barriss was a seasoned Force user. And more trained in saber fighting. Ashoka spends most her time chasing anakin around doing missions while barris was actually trained properly in the force and dueling. Her and Ashoka are on two different levels here. Earlier in the episode Barriss force Chokes a woman to death and is not even close to the room.
Yeah hut Ahsoka was running for days at this point and was without her shoto lightsaber (she heavily relied on that). Every time Barris and Ahsoka fought Barria went on the defensive and used the environment to win the fight. Although Barris did win due to superior knowledge and planning of arena (which made her win this fight). I'm not undermining Barris here as she did some impressive moves during this fight, but considering Ahsoka is able to contend with Maul in a few months I say that they isn't such a big skill gap between Barris and Ahsoka and this point. However, during this duel it wasn't who was the superior duellist but about who could utilise their environment better, which was Barris.
A padawan is still learning while on missions. I'd say Anakin taught her well. Part of becoming a Jedi master is gaining hands on experience as well as knowing the theory and techniques.
Because plot contrivances. Ashoka could have proved her innocence so many times throughout this arc. And her calling someone half ventriss’s height ventriss is ludicrous
@@badgasaurus4211 It was dark and Barris was moving fast, do you really think she could have seen it? @@pedrorenault5335 it was dark and she was moving too fast? Rubbish. When ashoka said the ventriss line barrisss was standing still right in front of her for a good 10 seconds. And you can clearly tell the height of who you are fighting with the position of the lightsabers in relation to her body. Come on, its so obvious it isn’t ventriss, and ashoka would have clearly known that if it wasn’t for a plot contrivance. As far as proving her innocence is concerned, why was only one part of the tape shown by tarken? The tape has Obviously been doctored and I don’t know why they didn’t bring that obvious point up. Also, where was the camera footage of her supposedly knocking out all the guards at the entrance to the prison when she was escaping? There’s clear cherrypicking of footage going on there which was never brought up.
And why didn't they hear her falling and the crash of the wood and all? One last thing... how were the clones able to read the labels on the crates? The lettering is so small.
+Shade's Archives your saying that after seeing one movie out of three. I can say the same about about Darth Vader. let's put me in a senerio where I just got out of the theater in 1977 and I say Darth Vader was an awful character without seeing the next 2 movies. that's just what you did you saw the movie and you judge a character without seeing the next 2 movies and seeing how he developed
+Randoman590 So her name is a title (which implies she used to have a real name) and Dave Filoni *claims* it's not Barriss Offee (assuming of course he's not lying to us)?
+UnableThree6684 It's been confirmed that she is NOT Bariss. They are both the same species, but Bariss has diamond shaped facial markings around her nose while The 7th Sister has no facial markings, Ventress's lightsabers, for that matter.
LightStreak567 One, diamond shaped facial markings happens to be tattoos, means it's possible to remove them. Two, Barriss would *not* have Ventress's lightsabers as they would have been destroyed by the Jedi Order after Anakin captures her. She would likely be equipped with an industrialized spinning double blade lightsaber that the Inquisitors have if she ever became one. And three, there's nothing preventing Filoni from lying to protect a secret.
VENTRESS, I see you've had a change of heart. Why have you brought me here, VENTRESS. It's almost as if the writers want us to think it's Ventress or something.
I really, really, REALLY wish we got a proper Ahsoka vs. Barriss fight, where Ahsoka actually knew who she was fighting. I just wanted Ahsoka to verbally rip into her, going, "Why did you betray me? I was your friend!" or something like that. Anakin fighting Barriss was fine (the duel itself was excellent), but there's no emotional attachment between the two, so it didn't quite have the punch I was looking for.
See a lot of comments trying to explain or defend why Ashoka lost but it’s ok for our heros to loose every now and then. We don’t need more Mary Sue behavior like rey just winning everything all the dam time and never facing any kind of adversity.

Every thing you said is true, but let's also give credit to barris, she was fighting elegantly and knew how to counter Ashoka
Wow. That’s just... really good
In short she fought like a dark sider would lol.. fear, confusion, deceit and intimidation.
Nice analysis I'd like it but it has 66 likes already : )
Great and on point analysis. Ahsoka is extremely talented and has had a lot of experience by that time, it makes sense for her to be more than a match in a straight fight.
Thank you. Everyone is talking about how ahsoka didn't have her second saber to utilize here style but fail to mention how Barris had to use a lightsaber form that wasn't her own in order to mimick Ventress. This is a very situational duel for both of them and so many factors came into play. Nobody is going to sit her and tell me that either of them would beat each other in a fair duel. Their feats are very similar at this point for me anyways
Even though this fight is bad for Ahsoka, Barriss was pretty badass in this scene especially near the end
Abigail Isley Ahsoka was already extremely exhausted from escaping, plus she lost her second lightsaber!
+TheSunStudio1 Agree!! I 'm actually surprised how well she fought on these conditions!! She is a survivor.
+TheSunStudio1 well in the first few seasons she is used to using a single bladed so not much difference
@108617912426737637606 She changed her fighting style completely after she got her self the second sword. Her older fighting style was not as efficient as you may think, that's why she build a second blade.
Gotten way better feats with 2 lightsabers.

I wish Wolfe was there to stop fives instead of Fox.
this is where ahsoka should have been smart. ventress always was prideful and never hid behind a mask
Then why does she have mask?
I know she is a bounty hunter, but a couple of hours earlier Ventress ambushed Ahsoka while wearing that mask. Ahsoka doesn't even know Ventress that well, considering they have only met 1 time before this.
@@bluepanther1013 Well, the thing about that ambush is that Ventress flipped up her mask very shortly after ambushing Ahsoka. So the other guy's comment still stands, I'd argue. But yeah, your point about Ahsoka not knowing Ventress well is a valid one.
She also has a completely different fighting style than Barriss
Love the animation and sparks of flames! Clone wars is amazing!
Im so glad you enjoyed it! This was a fun one to choreograph and shoot :D
dont know if it was intentionally or not but I love how barris attacked with one saber at a time instead of swinging them both. makes it clear shes not used to dual wielding
how damn naive is she...barriss and ventures' style are drastically different. and since barriss is suppose to be ahsoka's best friend, how did she not notice that!
and also, barriss is MUCH shorter than ventress
true, and I only just found out about barriss' ability in force cloak.
fair enough
Blame Anakin for all this. Ahsoka and barrisee are friend until Anakin solve murder of the Jedi
+Shade's Archives How many times has Barriss used dual lightsabers? Sure, she doesn't necessarily copy Ventress' style, but dual sith lightsabers aren't normally her style either.
It's not a plot hole
Barriss's fighting style is so elegant, efficient and effective!
then why was she defeated to easily by anakin?
Not just anyone can defeat Anakin buddy, especially not a padawan, which Barriss was.
lol but she why was she defeated so easily
I mean, she was weak in comparison to him. He had such brute force while she couldn't keep sustaining herself against his blows.
Agreed, she made some awful awful choices but in one clear way was actually wiser than the entire Council
Just kinda reminds me of all the young women Palpatine underestimated: Padmę, Barriss, and Ahsoka
@@saragolightly And even Ventress.
YES. Somebody else also finds Barris’ character intriguing.
Ashoka and Starkiller from the force unleashed are the only 2 people I've seen hold lightsabers like that
Obi-wan and Kanan Jarrus have both used the styles.
+Jay TEE But they don't use it often, unlike Ahsoka and Starkiller. And I think Kanan and Obi-Wan are only seen once using that style of fighting.
Because it's impractical
I think Prince Arcann also knew how to effectively use the reverse grip too
Love this stance, Star killer seemed better.
I miss the fluidity of the fighting actions on clone wars, it is very much unlike the rebels.
+bwikims Agreed.
What about ahsokas duel with vader
That's because everyone on Rebels is a scrub at the start.
Miss that too
I think its because the Inquisitors are weaker than the Jedi that were in the Clone Wars, as well as Kanan is out of practice and Ezra is just starting, but season three should be more fast paced now so HYPE! :D
Ahsoka would've won if
1. She still had her smaller Sabre
2. Or she didn't become to dependent on it.
Remember she lost after the explosion and that weakened her
+Brad Powell Barriss was rly good at using the environment to her advantage here
It was cuz she was breathing in those fumes and buriss had on a mask
All true
whenever it came to saber vs saber it seemed like Ahsoka was superior. Barriss pretty much ran every time they crossed blades, and was forced to rely on the force and her environment.
i really like how barriss used the environment as a means of attack it was really cool.
Damn, Barriss sure knows how to handle a Jedi and not mentioning being undercover.
Hope she makes an appearance in the future, Please Disney!

Nothing more
I actually really like barriss, she's such a badass.
Until Season 7, this was Ahsoka's last lightsaber duel in the show
The Lightsaber Glows in this fight look really colorful and brighter when in the dark
If only she has her shoto she'll overpower her.
+Amy Lozano she is used to using just one like she did in the first few seasons like when she fought ventress for real
+Hayden Rowse
I mean her another one in the series. she use to have two lightsabers
season 1,2 and half of 3 she only used 1
+Hayden Rowse
She had changed her fighting style completely since then, so she relied heavily upon her shoto. She is a lot more effecient and skilled with two lightsabers.
Plus Ashoka was already exhausted from escaping.
I doubt it. She definitely would've done better, but she was mentally and physically exhausted.
I say we have good evidence here of who the identity of the female Inquisitor maybe for the second season of Rebels.
When I first saw this as a kid I thought
“Oh my god is this a new sith?!”

The odds were really stacked up against Ahsoka in this fight, not to mention she was exhausted and without her shoto lightsaber. I would really love to see a rematch between them in Rebels where Ahsoka gives that bitch the beating she should have had in this scene.
xWitverfrost if Ahsoka from rebels came to give dis bitch a rematch it would literally end in ten seconds. Rebels Ahsoka is so much better LOL
Barris is most certainly dead by that point. Oh well

I guess Ahsoka was too focused on the fight to notice "Ventress" got shorter.
And the winner for the Galaxy's Worst Friend award goes to......Barris Offee.
The park where Ahsoka started getting weak broke my heart
1:27 one moment barriss' lightsabers are shut off, the next they're on without any sound
This is the last time Ahsoka wields a green blade.
Barriss obviously planned this attack because she knew Ahsoka was the superior duelist. She had every attack planned, and we know this due to the nanodroids planted at the crime scene.
Source? How did she "know" ahsoka was the better duelist?
*head canon*
@@rashrasha921 so I asked once again, where is your source that clearly states/shows Barris knows Ahsoka is a better duelist?

Man THIS is the Barriss I was hoping to see in Tales of the Empire. Embracing her dark side, being ruthless, a deadly Inquisitor of the Empire. She was the model of an Inquisitor before the Empire was even created, and she didn’t even know it
Instead we got a redemption that did and didn’t make sense.
I'm Digging Bariss's new Getup especially the Cloak
Ahsoka: Ventress, I see you have a change of heart
Barriss: Listen here you little sh*t
1:12 "I gonna be the next hokage"
See I knew this had to be barris even before they revealed her as the villain in this arc, I pay attention to the fighting styles the Jedi and with characters used throughout this show, and I have an easy time identifying a character simply by their stance and the specific way they swing a lightsaber, there’s so much form 3 in this fighting scene it was no brainer, because form 3 was luminaras style, and since we didn’t see luminara throughout this whole arc and instead they decide all of a sudden to give barris screen time when we haven’t seen her since season 2, I put two and two together it had to be Barris
I surprised Ashoka did not notice the height difference between ventris and her attacker.
It's dark inside there what do you expect?
That was... kind of satisfying to watch
I love how Bariss taunts her at 0:52, it's so badass. This whole fight she knows she's going to win too so it makes it even cooler.
It was painful to watch that Ahsoka never loses.
She does tho, and that’s what makes her even better
I know.
Looks like I know who'll become a great Inquisitor...
I like to think barriss is shading tears under that mask while fighting ahsoka

LightStreak567 One, diamond shaped facial markings happens to be tattoos, means it's possible to remove them. Two, Barriss would *not* have Ventress's lightsabers as they would have been destroyed by the Jedi Order after Anakin captures her. Antaqua R hell yes lol
I know Bariss Turned total Dark Side but I do Like Her new Night Attire it was pretty Nice
See a lot of comments trying to explain or defend why Ashoka lost but it’s ok for our heros to loose every now and then. We don’t need more Mary Sue behavior like rey just winning everything all the dam time and never facing any kind of adversity.
Barriss is so badass, I love her
Well I hate her
If she was at her season 7 strength, this would not even be a fight
