    This video was actually a huge help for a bigger project. I had to replace the high pressure fuel pump on my 2013 C250, and only one video existed for the job, and it was garbage. So i was left with looking over diagrams and piecing together videos, this being one of them. So I saw your other videos and I may rely on them for a lot of things. The C250 is very easy to work on, even easier than my Honda (as long as you have the tools.).
    Once the throttle body is removed, it’s pretty easy removing the intake manifold (there are 9 bolts, not 8). One thing I will ad if you ever have to do that job (high pressure fuel pump), you may have to turn the engine to match the cams to the high pressure fuel pump.

      Yeah...i had to do the same research when taking off my intake manifold to clean it. It's a pretty straight forward engine once you know where things are at. I never had to replace my fuel pump but glad you were able to do it!

      Pull the oil filter out and cover filter housing . Pull the air filter and housing off, Put the engine at 53 a t d c ( after top dead center) on the front crank balancer, pump will slide right out without removing intake manifold. It's a tight fit leave the lower union nut loose for the fuel line till you get all the bolts started and the pump lines up. Make sure the old keyway comes out also before installing new pump that comes with new one.

      You might also want to check for any boost leaks. I had a couple on my OEM Diverter Valve (rubber on the plunger was torn, so it kept releasing boost), and one on my air intake tube (Small tube that cracked). Check out his diverter valve/blow off valve and Silicone/Aluminum Air Intake tube videos if these are what's wrong with yours! Otherwise, check along the air intake/turbo routing.

    Hey Flexx, My wife's W204 just died at 102k miles while getting out of the garage. Very shaky and wont start. Reader said it was a P029921, P030300, P030400, P030200 and P030000. I replaced the turbo valve and that plastic end turbo hose since i discovered it was brittle and leaking. I also replaced 4 spark plugs and cleared the codes. Now, car wont start. It ran once, died and now it just cranks but doesnt start. Any thoughts? I dont see any codes on the reader. Probably since i already cleared it and needs to run a little bit. any thoughts? I just ordered 4 ignition coils too.

    • @TheFlexxGarage
      @TheFlexxGarage  Рік тому +1

      Sounds fuel related. Either the car ran outta fuel, fuel filter is clogged, or the Fuel pump is probably dead if it cranks and doesn’t start. I bet the lack of fuel or little amount of fuel going through the engine was what was causing the shakes and misfires. If the fuel filter has never been a changed…that might be the easiest check/fix before throwing money at the car and guessing. As always, please get a reputable professional to diagnose it.

    I love your videos but think maybe the sensor names in this one are not correct. What you are calling the booster sensor is actually the ambient air sensor. It is located before the turbo so it cannot be measuring turbo boost pressure since the sensor is "upstream." When I unplug it I get a computer error letting me know it is indeed the ambient sensor. What you show as the MAP sensor on the air intake is actually the booster sensor (again, I tested this with the computer to make sure). Unfortunate I learned all of this the hard way chasing an issue where my boost sensor was bad, and using this video I replaced the ambient air senor 3 times before I figured it out. Your video explaining how the turbo system works helped me understand what was wrong. Thanks to you may car is back better then ever now! I appreciate you.

    • @TheFlexxGarage
      @TheFlexxGarage  2 роки тому

      Yes and no. If you watch my latest video, I was with a Mercedes Benz tech and while we were shooting the video…that specific topic came up on sensors and their names and he told me there’s no consistent term used in these sensors. Some dealerships will call it this, some that, and the aftermarket resellers will also call it something else. Some will even have a few different part numbers and work the same way. A lot of them are interchangeable.

    If you do all that but the p0068 code is still there what can it be? It is at the dealer now and they are saying when testing the pressure no leaks but it shows when the DV+ releasing pressure is throwing the code because the MAP sensor is showing too much pressure is released. They cleared the codes and are suggesting if it comes up again to put oem back and see if that was the issue.
    The only thing I have installed is the dv+ / turbo muffler delete / metal air intake/ intercooler blue pipes from tornado tuning.
    They are stating since vehicle is tuned for oem DV that aftermarket pressure could be throwing code and I do not want to tune the car to avoid issues like this in the future. I really like the basic upgrades I have done.
    Please advise

      @@TheFlexxGarage AWESOME! I had the aftermarket parts installed for about 4 months and no code but ever since the new fuel pump was replaced it is now there. There is no performance loss with the p0068 code so I will just let it ride and see if it disappears how yours did. Thank you for that!
      If not the dealer wants me to install original oem DV and if code comes up then they will investigate further. If the light never disappears then I will try to swap it for the original dv as instructed by dealer. If the light is on after oem dv installed, then its still under warranty so the dealer will tell me what they can find from there. Ill keep you posted if it goes that far in case others have the issue!

      Definitely keep us posted. The P0068 was a tricky one. I was like past due on my annual car inspection in late 2018 because of that damn code. I was freaking out everywhere I drove because I had an expired inspection sticker and I couldn't figure out the culprit. And I even uninstalled ALL my performance mods too and changed my spark plugs and stock airbox and airfilter, etc.... It didn't fix anything so I slapped everything back on...a few days later...it went away and I passed inspection with no check engine light and it never came back. Really really weird. You know what, I loved your videos, but this small crap like you have two screws on top, but you have to go in blind on the bottom you could’ve added. I’m not trying to put you down, but you could’ve also added how to takeoff that plug on the throttlebody instead of people, ripping it off, the best videos are the 100% honest videos even if they take an hour and a half. Quit editing.

      Thanks for the kind words but you are expecting something that’s not suppose to be there.
      My videos are not detailed maintenance guides. They are just videos on how I work on my car and a rough guide.
      Any capable backyard mechanic can watch, get inspired, and do the work without needing to know screw sizes, torque specs, what tools to use, or how to remove a clip.
      If you’re not comfortable or don’t have the knowledge or skill to take a clip off or remove this or whatever, don’t do it. Have a mechanic do it. Don’t rely on a UA-camr to show you everything.
      I’m not here for that level of detail. At the end of the day, I’m just entertaining and inspiring people. I’m not a certified mechanic telling you this is exactly how you should do it. Whatever you end up doing to your car is on you.
