I have a 2013 C300 with the m276 engine and your videos as well as the website tutorial on changing the spark plugs help so much. I’m a mechanical engineering student so it’s really expensive for me to get a dealer or shop to do everything that I would rather do myself with the knowledge. Thanks for everything you do. I really appreciate it. Liked and subscribed!
Jaylon Hanible thanks for your compliment, and yes DIY let me save tons of money from the dealer. As a Mercedes owner, keep a Mercedes is away lower cost than a Toyota’s owner who only work with a dealer.
Nicely done maintenance! While you were in there.... you missed a chance to lube the intermediate gear shaft inside the throttle body. Between the 12V throttle motor and throttle plate gearing there is a (plastic) gear shaft that wears out when kept puposely dry... I used high-temp silicon brake grease on mine to give my unit a long service life like new without any loose free-play.
Very good sir. This is the first video of yours that I have seen. It is very nice to watch a gentleman work. I admire your precise work and perfect care of tools and organization. Thank you. I subscribed.
Thanks for such a detailed and clean dedicated work. I have always wondered on the canister side of the throttle body and how to empty any oil in it. While we think about the throttle body, it is also wise to empty and clean any oil in the area and the canister. It can be a source of dirt for the throttle body.
Thank you and yes, you are right. The crankcase oil steam was burn get through the throttle valve. That's for environmental protection, but will dirty the throttle valve. If the oil steam too much, it will be collected to the container under the suction hose.
Very nicely done! The reason you have oil build up in the intake is your PCV and breather valve are worn and require replacement. That will cut down on oil in the intake.
Senior Leigh, as always, great video. I noticed that you reset actuator values using Xentry. If one does not have the software does the actuator reset or relearn automatically after driving?
Thank you. And yes, that will do. Every time you turn on the ignition switch (no ignition), you will hear the throttle valve moving (loudly), that is resetting automatically. In addition, the opening degree of the throttle valve is mainly determined by various signals such as intake sensor, speed, crankshaft position sensor and knock sensor. I use a computer to reset, just to confirm.

Senior Leigh, I have one question. How important is the Xentry portion? I do not have a computer with xentry setup. Is this still something I can do? Or must I setup an appointment with the mechanic?
Great video Senior Leigh, thank you very much for making such high quality productions. I was wondering if you could tell me how to get new clic type clamps for the air intake boot. You seem to be using new ones from a plastic bag, is there any chance you could give me a part number? I can't seem to find them anywhere. Thank you!!
what is that black piece on the side of the throttle body? can it be removed/replaced or cleaned? I saw some oil on the side of mines all the way down to the oil catch can. No codes. im wondering if i should do anything more than what you did in this video?
Thanks! Great, useful, video. It looks like you already changed the MAF sensor previously (doesn't look like the original Bosch part for this engine) and I imagine that didn't solve the rough idle problem. Just cleaned my MAF and still have rough idling (after the Mercedes mechanics left the intake clip loose), so I'll do the throttle body next and see if that helps.
Hi Senior Leigh I have great news, I have completed a major project thanks to you and your pdf available. I have some videos but they don’t show step by step as I could work and video at the same time. I replace the PCV and high pressure fuel pump on the 2016 W212 M276 E class. I know how to do just job with my eyes closed . Can I upload some videos and post to you .
Looked quite clean to me to begin with. Not sure if this little accumulation has any negative impact on performance. Juice doesn’t seem worth the squeeze. Right?
Senior Leigh, I’m not sure what to do… I cleaned the Air Intake Manifold exactly as you detailed on the same model W212 MB and I immediately was put into “Pre-Safe” mode. I spent a couple hours troubleshooting the issue with no luck, and eventually decided to unplug the front and external batteries. This worked, and my E350 was running great! Yesterday I drove for about 80 miles but on the way home the same thing happened abruptly. I was stuck in “Pre-Safe” mode about 2 miles from my house. So I had to “drive” a few miles back home like that and decided to deal with it in the morning. Now the morning has come, I reset my battery, and to no avail… the engine shuts off after starting! This feels like a massive bill, and I’m quite worried there’s been some greater damage done to the engine. Please help! Note: 79k miles this is the first time Intake had been cleaned.

Another great video and thanks. I've noticed in your video's that the front timing cover bolt heads are painted blue. The reason I ask is that I would like to fit oil check valves and up graded tensioners but I'm not sure if they haven't been done already.

I just don't have the courage to do it myself, I tried but never got it done. I got so much oil in my intake, I have to wipe out oils every weekend or whenever I have time. That's not good at all, I got frustrated with MB as to why they designing such weak parts.
