You ought to try shaking his hand....being a carpenter all his like his hands are like vise clamp. Richard is just a little younger then me but he is in excellant shape. I have tied jigs for Richard and have met him many times know the bank along with Rocky Drake and both of those gentleman are just that...gentleman. two of the nicest guys you could ever meet. Richard is a fine man spiritually and ethically. When you meet him in person he is different then when he is filming. Very soft spoken guy and is very friendly. There is nothing I can say negative about Richard Gene. Not only a legend at fishing but what everyone should be. This country would be perfect if we had more Richard Gene's.

I love these videos been watching them constantly for over a month now and keep learning new things. I've become such a different type of angler since and I've not been skunked one time since ,I've been going multiple times a week and I sometimes I only catch a few fish and sometimes I catch 15+ and usually multiple species every time don't matter what it is to me just as long as that rod bends. I will note I only fish from the shore for now until I get my kayak. Thank you for all the awesome videos and tips,tricks, and everything else you share. 🙂

This is very good information. Generally I don't have much luck with crappie when it gets too warm. Very good strategy which I will use. I've heard that crappies get mad and have a temper. Therefore, teasing them if their not hungry makes sense.

Yep those crappies can be anywhere now, I’ve been chasing big bluegill lately with a bubble and a popper, it’s a blast they come up and suck it in. Release most keep a few now and again. I catch bass too, yesterday I got a danged crappie on a popper!!! First time for everything I guess. Really like your vids Richard, I’m goin to try that two pound fishing but not much vertical cover here👍

I cut some open when cleaning them. They were full of nymphs, and what looked like fresh water shrimp. So, yeah, shad and minnows aren't all they eat.

Three days ago the crappie and gills felt warm. Today they felt ice cold in 3 feet. We had a cold front drop night temps to 50 daytime just under 70 past two days. 18-22 feet static depth. Kinda lost.

Richard how hot does Wilson lake get in the summer? We are at 87 degrees in our canal and creeks 84, can not catch any crappie. I guess the water temp is too hot??

I try different depths until I'm successful. Whatever the depth of water I'm fishing in I'll start about half way. So if I'm in 10ft of water I'll start at 5. From there it's just all about testing different depths.

Tucker fishes. There’s a video of him somewhere fishing in Central Park NYC and some troll with a camera start recording him and was trying to give him a hard time. Tucker just ended up being the coolest guy and by the end of the video they were good pals.
