Besides all the tips and great info that you give, you're crazy. And that's why we love you and watch you. Don't stop being this way. Ur brother in The Lord. Dr. Kirby
Man! I've been goin crappie fishing and getting SKUNKED lol had to resort to the ole trusty bluegill to have something to fry! Last Sunday went out and damn near had a heat stroke and I swore off that lake forever...then I come and find this video and soak in your most excellent and gracious tips & know how and get excited all over again lol thanks for your awesome videos Mr. Richard Gene the Fishing Machine! 👍
Best video I've seen thus far. You actually demonstrate how you are using your jig, how deep your fishing and retrieve speed, etc. Basically you provide all the details I'm looking for. I don't have a boat, so I need all the tips I can get fishing for crappie from the bank. Thanks for sharing.
Richard I've caught a many from Browns creek myself. But you beat all I've ever seen catching em! To be able to catch them there in summer at the most pressured causeway on Guntersville is awesome. I'd like to meet you on water sometime
You've done it again gene, I wouldn't be able to catch nothing but catfish bait from the bank right now. But my local lake ain't known for real good crappie anyways
Yes sir Mr. Gene, I watched it and thank you. I tried last weekend but was using 4 lb test and 1/16 jig and using a bobber. I will get 2 lb and some 1/32 jigs and fish slow just off the bottom as you did. I have the colors you are using and also using your loop knot. Keep up the great videos! I want to say, "there he is Elmo!"
OMG you are a trully fishing machine. Thank you for all the tips and valuable info once again Gene The Fishing Machine. Well done video. I love watching your videos a lot!
Just came across this video. I was surprised that I hadn't already seen this one. Thank you for for doing a bank summertime crappie fishing video. I learn something with every video you make. Thanks again and God bless you.
Richard, Another great video! Thanks, please keep them coming! Request though... Can you, would you do more indepth on how to read a fish finder.... What do shad, or bait fish look like? How do you locate the places you fish for crappie, how do you break down a lake you intend to fish? Thanks, Don.
Thank you Richard! Dont give up in making your videos.. Truly, great stuff! Thanks again for taking the time out to make and put together your videos. Also, thank you for hearing our request! Thanks, Don.
You sir are one heck of a crappie fisherman. I can catch summer crappie in the morning, in the grass. But you are catching them in what appears to be mid day and deep.
You probably won’t see this, but dang man I love your energy. Wish I had the knowledge you do but you got some years on me for sure. Awesome videos! Thanks for the insight. I’m gonna try these techniques out on our local reservoir. I have one video idea for ya: How to Map the Bottom WITHOUT a fish finder from shore? May be hard to do, just something I wish I could do.
Good video. I just discovered your channel by accident. I left You Tube playing on my computer and walked out of the room for awhile. When I came back in, your video was playing.
this is my neck of the woods here richard! you wouldnt believe it but i have never caught a crappie under the 69 causeway, i think i am not holding my mouth right or something lol, love the video i will have to try this cause id love to put a few fillets in the freezer!
In one of your video's, at the start, we saw you pushing your son walking with your legs so spread apart, that we thought you had tried that bag of 15 bean soup and something got lose in ur britches.. I will have to say, the first one with the water hose was the best. In Christ we love ya brother. Dr Kirby
Not much crappie here in Idaho compared where you are, perhaps due to the cold water, i feel jealous i wish i live in a warmer state so i can fish through out the year, i fish from the bank too.
When you're fishing from the bank under these bridges, where do you park your truck? Hope to see you out there some day! Keep doing these great videos.........they're gooood fer us!
mr fishing machine sure do enjoy your videos,,,we have a 190 acre lake in my hometown,, a good bit of the water is 20-35 ft deep,,, no bridges,, water temp around 85,, I'm in south Carolina,, I'm trying trolling jigs,, crankbaits,, vertical jigging for crappie,, they are some good crappie in this lake,, but I cant find em or get em to bite when its hot,,, wave your magic wand and please give me some suggestions to try during the hot weather,,,thanks
I would look for some trees knocked over in the water over deep water. If you can find a situation like that I would give that a try. If you don't have any cover like that you could put out light at night and fish with live minnows. Thanks for watching Glenn
I declare Mr. Gene I fished there maybe a week before and only caught two or three but I was under the bridge I wish I had tried it where you're at.Thanks for sharing your thoughts about this spot! I will let you know what happens the next time I go there.Do you fish near any of the other bridges?
thanks for the tips on crappie fishing.....enjoyed it sir....how bout a tutorial on catching from a boat slip or around a marina....you may have one already, guess i better check hadnt I.....happy Independence Day sir .....
Thanks nice report! Looks like your fishing upstream. Can we get away with parking on the side the road there. I noticed on Google maps some people are doing that
Awesome video! Thanks for the time you take to explain so well. Quick question for you, what's your opinion on time of day to fish and any weather patterns to look for?
For crappie I would say best time of day is early in morning and late in the afternoon. If you have over cast weather, rain sometimes you can catch them on and off throughtout the day. Thank you for watching Mitchell!
Thanks for all the information you share in your videos. Does the depth where oxygen becomes depleted come into play at this fishing situation? Do you think this 25 foot range would attract fish in the deeper parts of the lake? Thanks again.
When riding around in the boat, on your fish finder you will see shad are at a particular depth at the area your trying to locate the crappie. This depth is called the thermocline and thats where the best oxygen is at on that day. thank you for watching Ronald!
I loose a few jigs each time. Every time I get hung up/loose a jig I kind of get a feel for where thats at in the location i fish. I will count down a second less before I hit the bottom to try to prevent it from happening. Thank you for watching Po Muddy!
Richard Gene The Fishing Machine , ok.. good. I do the same thing.. i guess thats the magic of video editing.. hehe.. you make it look so easy. 👍👍. thanks again, tell elmo i said 'hey there'
I really enjoyed your video I have an area that I fish like that but I don't catch crappie like that especially in the summertime I noticed that you didn't have a barber on your line does that make a difference
Yes crappie go deeper in the summer so bobbers aren't usufull in hot water temps. bobbers are great when you fish shallow in the spring but during the summer you want to fish deep so no bobber is better. Thanks for watching Vincent!
very interesting video Richard. I happened to be a Guntersville two days before you shot this video and where I was the lake was chock full of weeks, or hydrilla, or whatever that underwater growth is. How in the world to you fish in that stuff?
New subscriber , and im going to be headed to gville in the morning to try some bank fishing for crappie and cats. I here the crappie are under the bridges right now. I will be using live minnows any tips would be great . Thanks.
Richard Gene The Fishing Machine when the low clouds are on or just above the tree tops after a storm over there the bass get lock jaw and usually as soon as the clouds burn off or lift the bass will come back to biting and I've always been told it's called Gunters ghost
