I remember the radio story!!!!!!! I think William was closing COD so it was him who radio'd you on the bus!! OH MY GOODNESS you're like a legend for that! All the closers were dying laughing. If it makes you feel better I took mine home like 4-5 times. Always heard the duty manager's closing signals from my car. Miss you girls!! Also you two crack me up. Ask any leader or coordinator from 2017/2018 who all our fave CP/ICPs were and it's always Emily, Fiona and Sophie!!
Kendra this comment just made my day!!! I’m glad to know I gave everyone a good laugh even if I was completely mortified, and also that I’m not the only one 😂 that’s so sweet you still sometimes speak of us - will forever be the best summer I’ve ever had 💛
As always, Emily: such a fabulously funny and interesting video, and a brilliant collection of stories! Definitely made me laugh and empathise with a lot of the worry as a serial panicked myself - so easy to imagine worst case scenarios! Thank you :) and thank you to Fiona also, who came across brilliantly and you both have such a wonderful synergy! Can you do more together??
At DAK, not sure it was all locations but at Flame Tree they were so relaxed that if on your lunch break you wanted to get food from Flame Tree, all you had to do is throw a t-shirt over your costume and go queue up haha :D
I do have another story when I thought I was going to be termed. I picked up a shift at fairfax in sunset ranch in studios. My first shift there, so I’m filler & they make pizzas there. As in my other story, no training, at all. I’d tell the people preparing the pizzas what I’d need. Most were really nice but this 1 old lady was just mean. I told them what I needed, she yelled at me that they’d already filled that order, which they hadn’t. I tried to update explain to her why the order wasn’t filled, she yelled at me again which pissed me off so I yelled back at her. Unfortunately for me a guest relations person was at the window picking up food & she said the exchange made her uncomfortable so she went to the lead to complain. Next day I punch in & someone comes to me & says they need to see me in the office. I get there & they ask me about my exchange from the previous day. I tell them & then they tell me to write it down. Turns out I wasn’t in trouble, the older lady was because I wasn’t sure he first person she’d yelled at! I had to come back & identify her as the person who yelled at me because she didn’t remember it! As far as I know she wasn’t fired.
Sometimes it can take quite a long time to know boundaries in a job, and on the rare occasion breaking those boundaries can eventually be advantageous for the company. Miranda Sings(Colleen Ballinger) was fired from Disney for transforming her voice into her youtube persona while she was singing during her job as a Disneyland parade singer(she only did this when someone recognized her from youtube). The boss had no idea she was a looney online character, they simply thought she was sometimes singing poorly. Later Pixar put Miranda Sings into one of their movies. youtube "miranda sings fired from disney"
I shouldn't have said "breaking boundaries", I should've said "reaching the boundaries". It's not a good idea to break boundaries, they are almost always there for a good reason. In some frontier fields however, such as the arts, it's neccesary to break boundaries but in rare instances when there is clearly no ear for the new concept, or the system suppresses proper ideas(such as N Korea). This happened in the scenario in the movie Awakenings, which dramatizes the real event of a doctor going against his superior's limits on use of a drug in order to awaken people from decades of comas. The scenario with Miranda Sings at Disney is a good example of breaking boundaries and everyone acting properly...Colleen Ballinger said she was fired in the most decent Disney way, she understood why they did it, Disney eventually understood why Colleen broke character and later showed respect for that character by making Miranda a Disney Pixar character.
I worked at MK during my CP and was also told that we had to enter the park from the front if we wanted to go in after work but that meant going all the way back to costuming and waiting for the B bus just to get the TTC. Way too much effort, I was like hell no I’ll just sneak through and avoid all eye contact with everyone
Hahaha I thought it was bad enough when I forgot to leave my radio in the breakroom, and I got back to our department building and heard people talking over it so I went and took it back before lunch as I was doing something different after lunch and didn't need it and we're meant to leave them in the breakrooms, that's so funny that you took it home! I had that moment as well when my heart dropped cause I thought they were going to fire me and they literally just asked to see me to discuss the time off I'd asked for haha I hadn't even done anything wrong but I know the anxiety of thinking about it for hours until the moment comes to see your team leader haha
I did the same thing as you, but with an Emporium merch phone! 😭 It was clipped to my skirt and I forgot about it-had to ride the bus and walk all the way back to Main Street alone at like 3 or 4 in the morning. Absolutely miserable.
that must've been interesting working inside the Indiana Jones store lol I LOVE the merchandise, but the inventory is so small in that store. I can take a glance inside, and know everything that's inside in about a second. I saw a supervisor scold a CM within an ear's shot of me before when I was a guest, and I felt so awkward. Love listening to your CM stories
I went to Disneyland about a year ago. With my 3 babies And near the castle I got two of the glow wand things. The long ones with Mickey heads. Because one baby said she didn’t want one. We paid, left. I paid I believe 12$ ish. For each. By the time we got to the front of the park my kid started bursting in tears that NOW she wanted one. So I ran to the nearest cast member with glow sticks things. And I said please one and she charged me 17$ ish. And I was like oh .... but the screams of my kid, I didn’t care to pay more. Never thought about it. All kids where happy now,we left it was an awesome trip... till I heard your story and I remembered her. And I was sad. She was probably short. Maybe they where 17$ and just charged me wrong. It must be hard to be with the carts.
So this isn’t a costume story but after they tore down fountain view Starbucks, we were deployed to trolley car Starbucks in Hollywood Studios. So to gain hours a few of us volunteered to work in sunset ranch, which is the restaurants leading to tower of terror & rockin roller coaster. We’d punch in then get an assignment. We’d had zero training but I’d pick up an assignment like say fillet at scoops. I’d be like where is scoops & what’s a filler?? They’d say they’ll explain it when you get there. A filler fills orders. So someone else would prepare the ice cream cones & id hand them out but again, no training so I was literally guessing on what I was handing out!
I got termed from the DCP in November! Now I’m no rehire for the rest of my life. Shouldn’t have defended those skippers with the backpacks on twitter... oh well.
Not my story, but my sister’s, which I got to experience vicariously in live time through Facebook messenger. My sister was over 21 at the time of her program and one night was out at a bar and one of her friends, who was underage, showed up, extremely drunk. My sister realised that she had to somehow get this girl home. The friend she was with (who was also friends with the drunk girl) refused to leave with them, so my sister had to call an Uber. On the way home though, the drunk girl threw up all over the car (fortunately she did end up paying the hefty cleaning bill) so the driver wouldn’t take them the rest of the way, so my sister had to call 911! (The driver did wait with them for the ambulance). The friend was taken to hospital and put on IV fluids for a little while and then sent home. Fortunately my sister was able to find another friend to pick them up. The entire time my sister was freaking out that she was going to get termed for bringing someone who had been underage drinking into Disney housing and that they would accuse her of supplying the friend with alcohol. In the end it was absolutely fine, my sister managed to extend her program, the girl’s mother was extremely grateful that her daughter was taken care of and the friend and her brother both still work for Disney 3 years later!
Great awesome videos . are you friends with Elle browne. And other Disney vlog users. Disneyland paris should do more rides and attractions. Even a monorail. Also a water park like tokyo and a seaworld disney theme

I’ve heard that at other places!! Think it depends on role and location
I literally picked up a shift there a month ago. Can confirm this is still a thing 😂😂

I wrote that I missed Fi, and you gave us Fi! That is quality customer service :)
Very interesting stories, ladies!

Yeah there’s no way ahaha - I worked MK a couple times and always just went straight from park to work oops
I can relate! I’m definitely an over thinker, especially with work.

Oopsies?? 😂
Haha love this. Do you think it's a british trait to always think the worst and that you're going to be told off? I am exactly the same.
Lol probably or maybe just anxious british people 😂
What happened to you moving on from the DCP?
Great awesome videos . are you friends with Elle browne. And other Disney vlog users. Disneyland paris should do more rides and attractions. Even a monorail. Also a water park like tokyo and a seaworld disney theme
