Beware of very small living spaces, especially those with an inadequate kitchen. I recently moved out of a tiny studio with almost no kitchen counter and a single small closet. I live in a one-bedroom now with a far better kitchen and three closets. It has made a huge difference in my quality of life! I even exercise more because there is more room for movement and exercise equipment.
Yes, a proper living space, weather conditions, mobility and surroundings, access to nature, and also the general community that you have to interact with daily play a huge difference when it comes to quality of life.
Thank you Eileen for deciding to concentrate on your UA-cam audience. Honestly, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest etc…are not conducive to highlight your thoughtful commentaries. Your dedicated followers appreciate the effort and quality of the content you bring to this platform. Again, thank you. All of your advice is 100% on point.
I bought a replica YSL in *suluxy* and the quality is superior, have no issues with bag after 1,5 years. My friend bought YSL bag in YSl store, after 9 month she went back to report that handle is broken. Other friend has issues with LV backpack, bracelet and belt. months of waiting for repair and listening complains that she wore it wrong. I made my decision about high brands. Not worth it
Thanks for sharing Eileen! I sold over half my collection, now I have 4 bags which is more than enough. I placed the rest into investments and amazed to see how much I lost out on opportunity growth and dividends with buying all these luxury goods. I have no desire to buy new bags, or items. My priorities are life experiences and investing. ❤
Here are the practical tips she recommends on how to apply the 80/20 rule in your life: 1. Identify the high impact areas of your life and then determine the 20% of activities that provide 80% of your happiness. Conversely, what are the 20% that create 80% of your misery? 2. Audit your time to determine how you spend it. Cut down on low impact activities and increase those that make a difference in the long run. 3. Make it a habit to declutter regularly and remove the things that don’t add value. 4. Set clear priorities based on your core values and write them down so that they guide your actions. 5. Experiment and reflect on how to apply the 80/20 rule in the different areas of your life.

I used to be an avid shopper as well, I would always buy what I like because I couldn't resist and would think that I deserve something nice since I worked for my money too. But now I prioritize experiences and travel more because at the end of the day things are just things. For some reason I always find myself wanting more and forgetting what I already have. Travel and fun experiences on the other hand leaves beautiful memories and are priceless.
I heard the 80/20 rule but haven’t done it yet. This video of yours explained it well and you inspire me to do it. Shopping is sometimes my therapy but with the closet becoming cluttered, I have to donate some more. I’ve been donating stuff for years but I have to do more. Thank you for sharing your journey! ❤
This video has probably been the most helpful that I have seen amongst UA-camrs I follow. Also coming from a healthcare background I realize that our instinct is to always do better and help others but then we end up forgetting about ourselves. I have followed this 80/20 rule for the past few years without realizing it. Life is short and time is precious. 🥰🇨🇦
Thank you for all this info. I had heard of the 80/20 rule but only in reference to food -- eat 80% healthful foods and 20% junk food. LOL But now I have the incentive to keep decluttering and this time keep things organized.
Omggg, this is the best video I’ve watched all month and I totally needed it! I’ve been so stressed about covering all of my bases, but still feeling unaccomplished. Thank you for sharing this valuable tip! I love how you have evolved over the years! I still remember your luxury shopping days. I’m so happy that you have found a more meaningful way to live and share with others!
About 20 years ago, a friend of mine who was also a nutritionist, preached the 80/20 rule when it came to health and diet. To this day that helps me stay happily disciplined.
Eileen your videos makes me so calm and peaceful, Thank you so so so much for making such a wonderful beautiful videos for us and I will always be your supportive🥹💫💗
Same here. I have done the 80/20 for my clothes, now I'm starting to apply it to the rest of my life & so far, so good :) Thank you, Dear, I'm also enjoying your videos, please keep them coming :)
You might enjoy and find useful watching a few videos with Darryl Anka, channeling Bashar. The main thing is to focus on your Joy, choose what brings you joy. If you are making a decision, always choose what brings you joy
Thank you for posting this! I have started on a journey similar to the 80/20 rule. However, listening to your experience, it inspires me to expand it further.
Thank you. Thank you for your videos and insightful content. I was so insecure when people kept on showing their hustle bustle life doing several jobs at once, it felt like losing the race. But watching your video gave me a peace of mind
I have to try it too! I am single. Left my husband to live my life. Have no kids. Enjoying my life this way. Have more energy to take care of my parents. Feeling I should be living this way. Enjoying my work more. It works for me now. Travel a lot with my twin sister. Try not to spend much for clothes. I am into ink. So I would rather have some meaningfull tattoo instead of having a new bag. Enjoy your life your way….love from The Czech Republic 💖
I appreciate your tips for applying the 80/20 rule. I had heard of it, but I didn't think about applying it that way to my own life. I struggle with decluttering in several areas and I think this is a good way to approach it or at least get started.
Hi Eileen, enjoyed this one and got a lot out of it. I don’t know how i missed your video about the Songmont bags but i watched that one also, last night. I have been wanting a new everyday bag in a neutral. I fell in love with your bag but think i will go up one size to the small so i can carry 2 pairs of glasses ( reading and sunglasses). Thank you for introducing me to this brand, its fabulous!
Thank you for reminding me about what's really important in life. Actually I have to decide whether I want to go on with a certain work : I find it interesting, I like it, it takes about 3 hours a week. I even don't mind, that it is not payed, for me it's my service to the community, I am working for. So on this side everything seems to be alright. On the other side, these 3 hours every Monday night take a lot of my thinking during the whole week and it needs a lot of my energy as well. After watching your video, I am more clear about what the process is and how to decide... 😊
Thank you for sharing. A fruitful video i came across today. Will give it a try. I believe this tips will change the way i look at things. Thank you again! ❤
Same! the older I get. I've always used Tumblr because it's always had what none of the others did - all the posting options. And i was not about to share my data and waste hours of my day posting everything everywhere when one platform could do it all. Most of my postings are images and videos of outside things and animals - no filters, no perfect poses, or editing. For longer videos - if i get around to them - will go on a video platform...not sure which one yet.
I love this idea! I have heard of the 80/20 rule before, but not in the way that you mentioned in the video, and I love this way of looking at things! Thank you for sharing, and I am going to give this a try.
Thank you so much for this video. It gave me good ideas where to start to organize my life. I have been struggling with many areas of my life so this gives hope to that lifestyle change.
U really change yr life around.....glad tat u no longer like those influencer alwys crazy over branded bags n unbox aftertat sell away..... Nw yr life is more meaningful in such a way tat less spending on branded stuff. Hving time for family n find yrslf hobby. Indeed is good chge .....owning more stuff but use less can be mental torture n waste of money spent. Like yr honest video in spending wisely for things or tour one enjoy with family.
I use 80/20 rule for eating. 80% of the time, I eat organic whole foods, so 20% of the time I can have a small splurge. 💚👍 My body is healthy enough to withstand a small amount of junk.
I love the entire video but the OCD person in me has an anxiety from the unsteamed curtains 😅 Well done on y our minimalism journey, I love all of your videos 🤗🌻
Thank you for pointing it out! I recently washed the curtains and while editing this video, it stood out to me like a sore thumb too 🤣 I've now ironed the curtain ❤️ xx
Wonderful episode 😊. Thank you. Will be thinking about the 80, 20 rule in order to begin to incorporate it asap. Quality over quantity.💋🌹 Maldives is a bit of heaven on Earth😊
Overproduction and overconsumption, especially fashion, are huge problems that we overlook when we are shopping without realising this, so living more intentionally and consciously at least means we are not mindlessly contributing to this billion dollar waste industry.
@@moonhunter9993 I love the concept of curating a wardrobe, and a life, where every choice is conscious and we only have what we love to wear and to have around us. And that it's enough 🧡
I had heard of this rule but only in a limited way - like, you can eat well 80% of the time and eat badly for 20% - which really isn't very helpful. I'm going to try and apply your explanation to my life. I waste SO much time that brings nothing of value to my life!
Very useful information but please pause when speaking. Difficult to comprehend what you are saying when it all runs into one sentence (at least for me).
