Hi! I have been wanting to indulge myself with luxuries and have been thinking about handbags. Do you mind sharing what you enjoy about your hand bags?
Some people just like to collect things. You can indulge your hobbies as long as it is in moderation. You cannot live your life without any rewards. I buy what I like. I mountain bike a lot so I splurge every 5-10 years with a new bicycle. I also like luxury time pieces and might purchase a new watch every 5 years. I only work three days a week and spend a lot of time with family. All of my luxury items I do not show outside and mostly keep them to myself.
Okay, I've always been scratching my head about *preluxz* obsession with school bags and their practicality, but this video is adorable! Congratulations
I’ve known many people who got into debt for luxury, but they always seem to be spending increasingly and their debts don’t seem to affect them. What’s your take on this based on your experience?
I learnt that on the easy way thank God, my parents always gave me this example and advised me to stay debt free because its easy to take the money but difficult to pay them back. My pastor also advised many times to stay debt free because God wants us to be have freedom ❤
I was thinking about the children too... they not only have to adapt to a lifestyle they never experienced, but also lost a father... and maybe a depression thriven mother
I gave all my luxury bags and coats etc to a women’s shelter on Black Friday a few years ago. They were all given to me by my ex husband who never valued spending time with me. Nor did he value monogamy. I do not want the memories associated with him. And I feel so free now. People always compliment my style still to this day, and purging those things was symbolic for me. Now I hope they have helped so many women find jobs and feel confident. ❤
@ I tried that many times. It’s very time consuming and people didn’t show up to do the pick up etc. I’m not really a fan of managing listings after trying it through the years. The women’s shelter needed it more.
My mom was a kid during the great depression and one of the stories she told that always stuck with me was how so many people committed suicide because of their debt load when the depression hit and being unable to keep up with payments. I think in the back of my mind, I've always kept that thought with me when it came to my finances. We need to worry about US, not what everyone else is doing or thinks.
There’s is so much comparison to rich people now. Everyone wants to be rich without really knowing any rich person. When people say rich people don’t do this and that. My response is to not bother yourself about what rich/affluent people are doing.Just be yourself and enjoy what you have.
I grew up poor and after achieving some success as an adult I am still very frugal at heart. I still enjoy life and indulge myself but in moderation. I have always wanted a Porsche, but now that I can afford one it is not something that I can justify purchasing. I would rather travel and spoil my children. I also do not ever want to go back to being poor so I try not to spend more than I earn.
I never fall for these so-called perfect influencers; oftentimes it's never the case. I flex on being debt free and finding deals on anything and everything I buy that I only need.
And That is what most Trend/Aesthetic followers fail to grasp: Quiet Luxury isn't about Being Wealthy; Quiet Luxury is about Staying Wealthy. Great Vidi 😎☕💋
Hi Eileen........I just found your channel today and want to say thank you so much for this video. It has grounded me. I live in a small apartment with my husband and daughter and need to be more grateful. We may not have a lot of money, but we love each other dearly and laugh a lot.
When I stopped posting online (2 years ago...) I started to see what I valued...but I realized that even in real life there is the keeping up with appearances..even to strangers. These stories are gruesome and heartbreaking, and whilst lessons can be learnt....lives were taken and destroyed and that is hard to come to terms with, we are only guaranteed ONE life. Its better to LIVE life rather than to live for a superficial lifestyle until it all burns.
I agree with you. But one must remember that bags and clothes are just things that are replaceble. What realy important is, are your familie and true friends.
I don't like luxury bags or cars (I drive a 10yo car) but what I love more is a good and sturdy house that I own and I consider it as a luxury to be a homeowner these days. I don't care about having the latest aesthetic house interiors but I like to keep my house clean and tidy. For the nice things, I love buying quality yet a bit expensive shoes because I end up wearing them for years.
You couldn't have touched upon this subject any better than you did... thank you for the gentle reminder to stay true to ourselves and be grateful for our good health and loving relationships ❤
I saw the Miller’s story. It’s so sad but it’s a huge lesson. Don’t live your life to impress others.😥 This poor man knew he couldn’t keep it up and it turned out tragic.
I know wealthy women who carry replicas. The main reason they gave is that they just understand the value of money and don't want to spend too much money on bags... so more people choose fashionable *preluxz* bags. However, they do spend a lot of money on fine jewelry and other things.
A lot of people don't realise how deceiving social media is. It's true that we only show the best times and not always the reality. It's so sad that these families had to go through what they went through, just to keep up appearances.
This is truly important advice. Something I've found while trying to live within my means is that people often actively look down on your, or treat you as irresponsible, if you don't "present" to a certain standard. True story - I've had to learn to limit my exposure to such people. I remind myself that many of these people are simply projecting their own insecurities on you, and many of these same people will be in debt up to their eyeballs...
This is the more important video “spending below your means”. I buy luxury items for myself because I’ve always liked luxury goods and not to impress others, however it’s all the same thing which it really puts a dent into your budget. Thanks Eileen ❤ love this video so much with your examples of people who meant well to give their family the best gifts, life, parties but did not end well 😢.
Thank you for this video. Spend below your means for less stressful life. In todays life, its all about shopping and spending unnecessarily and social media influence.
Love this! I consider myself a minimalist but love luxury. I used to be into it even more now I just appreciate really elevated prices while sprinkling in luxury in addition. I learned very early on from going to school with wealthy kids that life is definitely not all that it’s made up to be. From a childhood perspective, kids are only living and showing up in ways that they know but often times their parents were out of town; letting them do whatever. I learned super early on that the house may be huge and beautiful and the money may be flowing, but there is also a chance it’s not. I remember hearing about both of these stories! Hate to see it but it’s the reality
This is a very helpful video. I really do appreciate your transparency. I hope and pray, the families of these men are continuing to heal from their tragic loss.
Know what is really important to you and what you value the most. Those are the things that will guide you in the right direction and make you grounded. Thank you for sharing Eileen.
Lovers of luxuries beyond your means will ultimately kill you. Chasing after the wind is meaningless. Live simple and be a blessing to people around you cos we have one life to live.. I am not rich and do not own any luxury items. But I am grateful with what I have and debt free. Most importantly you have a relationship with your Creator. ❤
My favorite thing is these super long luxury vlogs!! You do such a great job!! But I will buy the bags I love in *unidups* , the quality is so good and the price is so cheap that I even didn’t expect it.
So true that things aren't always what they seem. Why do we live for others, when they're so busy living their own lives that they don't even notice? Especially some of the influencers - we're "influenced" by them and they have no idea we even exist. It's so important to find what matters in life and live for that.
So true that you really have to look at the reasons why you shop especially with luxury. I’ve never bought to impress as I really don’t care what others think of me especially when it comes to material things. If I love a bag and can afford it then I will buy it. I started watching luxury UA-camrs and fell in love with the bags. I don’t have a huge collection but I love each and every piece that I own. Shopping to impress never does anyone any good. Shop within your means and appreciate what you have. You’ll end up a lot happier and financially stable.🥰
💯 Hence I’m less engaged on hauls/shopping videos. Many influencers (yourself included) are getting stuff for free to do reviews , whilst most viewers would have to pay for them (if we were influenced). Watching influencers dressed up, looking at themselves in mirrors & taking videos come across as a little too vain in my personal view. Each to their own…just focus on living our own ‘rich’ lives 💕
Thanks for sharing!!Yes many bloggers, myself included, do receive PR gifts. I hope by declaring the gifts and talking about realistic spending, my viewers will be better informed xx
It’s not just the PR gifts. It’s also your affiliate linking and ‘influencing’ your audience to purchase. It’s important to recognize this. Though I can appreciate that you do this less frequently than other influencers.
Always do your own research after listening to influencer who is giving good review about product, even thought he/she gave honest review. From my experience, people do change after some times or they have been faking it so well that we didnt even notice from the beginning. That's how scam works too. 😅
Live "rich" in reading the classics, listening to beautiful music, and consuming quality food and having good company. That's living a rich life worth living.
I guess your turnaround was the reason your videos turned up on my timeline... While being very into high quality designer luxury from my early childhood on - I was never into buying much. In fact - maybe bc I'm European - I remember my grandmother already in the 70s taking us to the shops in Venice and Genèva once a yr to get a few new outfits in a good quality, back then: Bottega Veneta, LoroPiana, Lotusse, Pollini, Bally, Loewe, Hermes were having a good reputation for service and quality, but were not that Marketing Hype like nowadays. We were taught to care for our items, to honto cobblers, get amendments, invisible mending etc. To re-use Grandma's Cutlery, which was seen as an investment we got handed down every yr for Christmas even though it was then back in Grandma's drawer for special occasions. .. or her dishes... dressers etc. Get family fine jewellery remodeled if too old fashioned, never buy costume jewellery aso I actually only have the things I need, I hardly bought anything in my house despite clothing... i inherited a Birkin from the 80s, still often use my first Loewe Bag from 1991... and my Burberry Trenchcoat from 1993, which I got as a student in London I just got remodeled.
Strange video for my feed because I am not into designer anything. Your advice and perspective was spot on, I am not sure how well it meshes with your channel and other videos but kudos on this one.
I have to say something probably unpopular. But how could these wifes not see that the husbands were mentally very ill and in massive financial difficulties? How could the wife of the second story not realise that they weren’t going to move to a bigger mansion? In my humble opinion, these men were trying very hard to please their wifes to a point where then they couldn’t make it anymore.
Lack of communication, lack of transparency, lack of actually giving a f**k about their husbands because they care more about being lavish. A lot of these 'rich' marriages took place with money at the very forefront. It's normal and good to consider finances with someone before marrying, but many of these seem...like its the only reason.
Both WIVES ABSOLUTELY knew. The second wife (where the husband killed the entire family) had previously filed bankruptcy. Her bankruptcy filing was declined because she didn't pay the fees. She was also stealing money from the community's account that she was a member of. This money was meant for neighborhood landscaping. NO RICH PERSON takes an ARM mortgage with a 2 year pay in full with no end game. It is usually real estate investors who are buying a house to renovate and flip. The miller husband looked depressed/stressed for years in the family's online video. If you are truly wealthy you are not living life on credit. The Millers were always being hounded creditors for unpaid debt. They rented furnitures and didn't even pay the rental fees. The furniture rental company were suing them to reposes the rented furniture. Her credit cards were being declined.
Hi Eileen.❤ I’d become very cautious when it comes to luxury when I witnessed your journey here in your channel. I don’t spend beyond my means and I’m stress free and happy and enjoying! Thank you for sharing!!!❤️❤️❤️ More power!!!❤❤❤
Thank you for this video. I do love nice things but know most are beyond my means. I am just replacing some basic tops this year. Putting together a capsule wardrobe since I love neutrals. But you brought home that we are trying to live beyond our means. If I don’t have cash I abstain.
Gosh, what an awful outcome for those two families. I have just found your channel and subscribed. Thanks for sharing this. I fully agree with what you said.
Thanks for reminding all of us. ❤ I have had the similar experience of attempting to receive affirmation from people by purchasing all of the branded items, and I am left feeling overwhelmed. But I am grateful because God reminded me that I am loved and accepted by Him, and I do not need to seek affirmation from others.
I learned my lesson during the Great Recession in 2008. My husband and I made a good living and lived a regular life but I do remember all my friends around me having huge houses, huge cars and going on great vacations but I couldn't figure it out. Come the Recession and all those people lost their homes and many went bankrupt. It turned out they funded their lifestyles on credit cards! From then on, I never compared myself to other people.
31.0I bought a LV bag gtdupe years ago. I took it to the LV store in my town last week to have it repaired. The store clerk inspected my bag and immediately told me that the bag was of good quality. She pulled a current bag out of inventory and compared the tags and I found zero differences
At first I did get influenced by some of your luxury purchases hence why I subscribed but since you transitioned to content more like this, it helped me become more mindful and be more cognizant about the social pressures and trying to keep up. Thank you again for making this type of content.
This hits the spot. I am in debt right now but I’m trying my best to pay it off. I am learning to be a minimalist spend wisely & intentionally. Live within your means. Thank u so much this video 🥹
Having size 15 US shoe's the only luxury I like are quality comfortable shoes plus some quality fashionable shoes. Don't need Gucci or Churches though. Boss or Mezlan is good enough. Haven't bought a pair in 2 year's and most my shoe's are practical sports shoe's or Timberland etc.
I remember both of these stories, how tragic. I am very cheap, and most of my money is invested in real estate. I am not a big fan of designer, only once in a while. Life is about priorities.
Re: the Millers. His wife knew something. Brandon's friend reached out to her about the family's unpaid debt. Their boat 'Miller Time" was repossessed. The wife tried to charted the boat from the new owners so that she could host and pretend like she still had the boat. Also, their reliance on credit, credit cards, renting furnitures. Many upper middle class and upper middle class people don't live like that. Even if they use credit card, they pay down their balances or pay if off at the end of the month. The wife's credit card had started being declined. The fact that she didn't sit down and scale back showed that she didn't care about anything but the appearance of "opulence". Most truly wealthy/smart NYC real estate investors do not mortgage their properties to the max for a 'lifestyle'.
I found from my research that Brandon told candice to go to Spain while he stayed in NY to close a big deal which supposedly would solve all their financial problems. Whether Candice knew the full extent or not, it’s incredibly sad that Brandon thought he had no other option but to to leave his family this way xx
@@ColourfulNoir NYC real estate investing world is unpredictable. No deal is a "done deal" until it is a done deal. Closing gets delayed and sale/purchase contracts falls apart. Banks /Financier under writing falls apart at the last minute. I know a few real estate investors in NYC. They own from 10 to over 40 Apartment buildings in NYC. Some of these buildings have NO LOANS and are worth millions each. THEY DO NOT OPERATE LIKE these people did. If you are in such a financial bind, going off to Europe and charging expensive vacations on credit cards is the LAST THING you want to do.
For your examples, most if not all insurance companies don't pay out if the death is a suicide. Anyway, I dress to make 'me' feel good/more confident & while it's nice to have 'nice things', they aren't everything. I straddle that fence between minimalist & 'I like my stuff', but that 'stuff', a good share are gifts, family pieces that have been passed down, consignment & watching/waiting for a good deal. As it applies to my clothes/accessories, the more I had, the harder it was to get dressed, but when I thinned it down & did the 80/20 rule & quality over quantity, getting dressed is so much easier, not to mention faster.
Thank you for raising this, because it’s the first thing that came to mind. This man placed his family in even more financial ruin since they cannot collect on an insurance policy. A selfish shame.
I found out, while being evaluated as a potential juror, that there are usually loopholes after two years in an insurance policy. I didn’t get chosen as a juror, but found out that the family won the case against the insurance company
In my personal opinion , the most important thing in life is choosing your partner … either they make your life real happy and easier or make your life harder and drowning with debt . I like to shop in thrift store because there are so many quality products and some not even use yet ,and the same time i help mother earth . It’s really easy to live below our means . My friends and families think i am rich they dont know most of my clothes is just came from a thrift store . 😊
The way i see is end of the day I am impressing myself then other people. I dont really need other to give me the 👍🏻 Plus there are many things more important in life then trying to live in luxury.
I don’t need anything luxury except a luxurious future which to me means no debt and a house that’s paid for. You never know when your financial situation can change so it’s always best to invest in your future and spend money wisely.
already got too stressed out with fashion as a teen. minimalism is by default super stylish though. i wear stuff from 10 years ago and if i see stuff in the store that i like, usually my own outfit of the day is still better
Elizabeth "Betty" Broderick, the convicted murderer, did exactly that, lived very below her means initially only to help her husband get ahead in the world and we know how she ended up. Always carefully consider your personal circumstances rather than blindly follow stock advice on UA-cam or elsewhere, see what and what not applies in your case.❤
Over kill on eating, gambling, excessive spending, drinking, amongst others or having huge outstanding debt is indeed extremely stressful and unhealthy. We are all just passing through meaning we all have a date of death. Finding balance, staying healthy and spending time doing what you love, are all worthwhile endeavors.
Great video! Also, I started watching your videos when you first reviewed your Hermes bracelets. Soon after, I started my own collection. I'm so glad to see you are still wearing them, as am I. :)
I like my handbags too but tbh true luxuries are health, peace of mind and having time with loved ones.
Agree!xx

THIS. Yes :)
Downsizing is alright. I have learned the hard way that being debt free is better than luxury
Trust me: Ist is! I also had to learn that…
I’ve known many people who got into debt for luxury, but they always seem to be spending increasingly and their debts don’t seem to affect them. What’s your take on this based on your experience?
having less bills is the best way

@ wow. You have Amazing Influence in your Life. 🙏🏻
Both these stories are a reminder once again that things are usually not what they seem on social media. So tragic, particularly for the children.
Tragic indeed 😢
I was thinking about the children too... they not only have to adapt to a lifestyle they never experienced, but also lost a father... and maybe a depression thriven mother
A website that I often repurchase recently *suluxy*
I gave all my luxury bags and coats etc to a women’s shelter on Black Friday a few years ago.

Bravo 🎉 for you! Nicest post read today ❤ 😊

La sakoj ene de *preluxz* estas perfektaj kiel donacoj por amikoj. La prezo ne estas alta kaj la kvalito estas bona.
Actually Quiet Luxury has little to do with getting or staying wealthy.
Wise words. There is nothing like being happy within or below your means.
Thank you xx
This was an excellent topic. It’s more popular to pretend than to just be and to be content, which is peace itself.
Hi Eileen........I just found your channel today and want to say thank you so much for this video. It has grounded me. I live in a small apartment with my husband and daughter and need to be more grateful. We may not have a lot of money, but we love each other dearly and laugh a lot.

When you start living for other people, that’s when problems step in. Live for yourself an original is worth more than a copy.
100% agree! xx

Yeah, I've never felt like a target in my 21yo minivan. Retired in 40s and nobody really knows. Wealth should whisper.
Like you, I'm wealthier than I look. 😉
This really reminds me of why I hate hanging out in bougie circles theyre all so busy trying to outdo each other or keep up with each other
I love that quote that living below your means is true luxury; so true!
You couldn't have touched upon this subject any better than you did... thank you for the gentle reminder to stay true to ourselves and be grateful for our good health and loving relationships ❤
I totally agree with you. It's mostly our ego or rather false ego that drives us to make financial mistakes.
Loneliness, too
I saw the Miller’s story. It’s so sad but it’s a huge lesson. Don’t live your life to impress others.😥 This poor man knew he couldn’t keep it up and it turned out tragic.

"find what matter in life'-- loved it! xx

It's really true, for me it's luxury watches. I've learned to be happy with just 3 watches, limiting myself to just 3 has helped immensely.
Great video. Sometimes we all need to hear these shocking stories to remind us to live within or below our means so we experience true freedom.
Well said xx
You are literally a person that i don’t know but that i look up to!
Absolutely love this video. I needed to watch this. Thank you!
This was a very captivating video. I love the way you story tell and then add your own personal touch. You are so well spoken!
Thank you so much!xx

Get family fine jewellery remodeled if too old fashioned, never buy costume jewellery aso
I actually only have the things I need, I hardly bought anything in my house despite clothing... i inherited a Birkin from the 80s, still often use my first Loewe Bag from 1991... and my Burberry Trenchcoat from 1993, which I got as a student in London I just got remodeled.
Fabulous advice, thank you. What I take is to know what I value to pick and choose accordingly.
Strange video for my feed because I am not into designer anything.
Your advice and perspective was spot on, I am not sure how well it meshes with your channel and other videos but kudos on this one.
Wow!!!! Thanks for sharing this very important subject! So so sad!!!! 😢
Incredibly tragic .. 😢xx
I appreciate your balance and you seem to urge people to live more minimally and stop over indulging in things and cluttering our lives and spaces.
“Not too heavy” at all. Love your video and thank you ❤️
I have to say something probably unpopular.
It's very sad that both men didn't feel they could confide in the person who was supposed to be closest to them xx
You hit on an age old problem. Edith Wharton books detail this dynamic very vividly.
I completely agree. It’s very sad and tragic. Both are at fault here
Both WIVES ABSOLUTELY knew.
Thank you so much for your support xx
Thank you for this video. I do love nice things but know most are beyond my means. I am just replacing some basic tops this year. Putting together a capsule wardrobe since I love neutrals. But you brought home that we are trying to live beyond our means. If I don’t have cash I abstain.
I’m glad the video was helpful xx
Gosh, what an awful outcome for those two families. I have just found your channel and subscribed. Thanks for sharing this. I fully agree with what you said.
Thank you and welcome aboard! xx
Thanks for reminding all of us. ❤
I have had the similar experience of attempting to receive affirmation from people by purchasing all of the branded items, and I am left feeling overwhelmed.
Thanks for sharing!!xx
Great video with wise, heartfelt advice. Thank you.
YES! Hermes and a Mini Cooper.....perfect match!!
This video is epically made. I love this fusion of content, this is a great way to give women financial advice 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you for this informative video! These are things I've been contemplating as well.
Glad it was helpful! xx
This hits the spot. I am in debt right now but I’m trying my best to pay it off. I am learning to be a minimalist spend wisely & intentionally. Live within your means. Thank u so much this video 🥹
Best of luck!xx
Having size 15 US shoe's the only luxury I like are quality comfortable shoes plus some quality fashionable shoes. Don't need Gucci or Churches though. Boss or Mezlan is good enough. Haven't bought a pair in 2 year's and most my shoe's are practical sports shoe's or Timberland etc.
What a great topic! Your video should be on public television. 👍
I totally agree with you
So much wisdom! Thank you for sharing this amazing content.❤
I remember both of these stories, how tragic. I am very cheap, and most of my money is invested in real estate. I am not a big fan of designer, only once in a while. Life is about priorities.
Your accent and voice is soooooo soothing to listen too 😌
Excellent video as always! Thank you Eileen .
Glad you enjoyed it!xx
I love this content! Please do more living below your means tragedy stories. Thank you!
Thank you! xx
Thank you for sharing xx
Thank you for raising this, because it’s the first thing that came to mind. This man placed his family in even more financial ruin since they cannot collect on an insurance policy. A selfish shame.
I found out, while being evaluated as a potential juror, that there are usually loopholes after two years in an insurance policy. I didn’t get chosen as a juror, but found out that the family won the case against the insurance company
Very very TRUE.. very well said. You are amazing ma'am.
I came across your channel and find what you are saying so true and I will follow you because I love your advice a lot
Welcome aboard!xx
Thank you for sharing your wisdom! ❤
Thank you so much Eileen for sharing this video❤

I absolutely loved this, you got yourself a new subscriber
Status is a primal drive in human nature and it doesn’t always end well.
Always look forward to these videos. Well said
What an excellent reminder, thank you
This is a good lesson thank you for this message.
The way i see is end of the day I am impressing myself then other people.
I dont really need other to give me the 👍🏻
Plus there are many things more important in life then trying to live in luxury.
This is such valuable wisdom. Thank you 🙏🏻
Glad it was helpful! xx
I don’t need anything luxury except a luxurious future which to me means no debt and a house that’s paid for. You never know when your financial situation can change so it’s always best to invest in your future and spend money wisely.
You are such an inspiration and thank you for the video it was very powerful .
Thank you so much!xx
Thank you for sharing this important information. Inspired as always ☺️
Thank you so much xx
After traveling to France, I will never pay for a luxury bag! $2k to $5k is nuts.
Thank you for sharing, but I would also love to hear how the trip to France changed your perspectives xx
Also, customers need to wait for hours in the line!
Beyond ridiculous
already got too stressed out with fashion as a teen. minimalism is by default super stylish though. i wear stuff from 10 years ago and if i see stuff in the store that i like, usually my own outfit of the day is still better
The men might have been worried they would lose their wives if they told them the truth.
Excellent! Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!xx
Thank you for these videos!
Glad you like them! xx
Thank you very much 🙏🏽🙇🏻♀️❤️
Great video! Also, I started watching your videos when you first reviewed your Hermes bracelets. Soon after, I started my own collection. I'm so glad to see you are still wearing them, as am I. :)
Thank you! I haven't been shopping a lot but I intend to use what I have for a long time xx
