    One quick thing to clarify (and you got it right btw) is that it has "paraffin liquidium" in it. This is NOT PARABEN. TOTALLY different. Pariffin liquidium is unscented baby oil.
    Just throwing that out there for anyone who might have equated it with paraben in their minds. I know that you didn't think it was Paraben and it was very knowledgable of you to note the base.

    Aphotecary 87 clay pomade or Cavalier..which one is better in terms of hold and how greasy hair gets (I have kinda thicker and oily hair)..

    • @TDMStyle
      @TDMStyle  5 років тому

      Cav has a stronger hold, but it weighs my hair down and feels very oily by the end of the day. A87 has less hold but it feels very light in the hair (vid coming real soon 😉). It feels a bit oily up front but as long as you don’t overdo it, it has a nice finish. Honestly though A87 matte paste is amazing stuff and not oily at all.

    I have a question about the hanz de fuko quicksand, it's very dry in my hair and I use a pea sided amount. should I try it with wet hair

    • @TDMStyle
      @TDMStyle  7 років тому +1

      +Avigna Vasanthan Yeah it's tough. I only ever use it in second day hair when it's oily, and I use a really tiny amount. I prefer using dry shampoo over quicksand tbh. I've never tried it in wet hair. Not sure how it would behave

    • @TDMStyle
      @TDMStyle  7 років тому +1

      +CloudSurfer821 Thanks man! I like Cavalier better than Claymation. Sponge Wax is more of a light prestyler, so quite a bit different from the clays. I haven't tried By Vilain stuff yet though!

      TDM Style thanks my good man. Love your stuff..as another guy who has thick, coarse, wavy/curly hair but styles it straight...your channel has been amazing. Keep up the great work! I also recommend you try Slikhaar's by vilain line. Really quality products.

    Hey man, ive read somewhere that one of the ingredients in this formulation can actually be quite damaging to hair. I dont remember exactly what it is but it starts with a “p.” Do you think this is the case? Have you experienced any breakouts or such?

    • @TDMStyle
      @TDMStyle  4 роки тому +2

      Petrolatum maybe? A lot of people seem concerned about that one for some unknown reason - I have never found it to be an issue and in most cases it ends up being an ingredient to add some conditioning to the hair. I have not had any issues with breakouts, though for me Cavalier definitely does get reallllly oily as the day wears on.

      Hey mate, absolutely love your channel and your videos.
      Especially your later ones have come a long way from your earlier videos and you’re a funny dude with a good sense of humour.
      He could have been talking about paraffinium liquidium or petrolatum. Petrolatum is another word for petroleum jelly, and i just wanted to mention I avoid any hair products with it as it’s petrol based and have read some pretty bad things about health effects of petroleum jelly. Like you shouldn’t use it on your lips or skin. There’s a thing they can measure in it called MOAH or mineral oil aromatic hydrocarbons with the Vaseline brand having among the highest ever tested, and the European Food Safety Authority has listed it as a possible carcinogen.
      So just as an FYI that’s why I and others avoid any petroleum based products like pariffinium (mineral oil) or petrolatum and don’t want to go putting it on my scalp every day.

    Which one would you recommend cavalier clay or claymation by hanz de fuko? Btw I have thick straight or a little bit waveish hair sort of like blumman's and I have so much trouble keeping my hair up with claymation Which one would you recommend?

    • @TDMStyle

    • @TDMStyle
      @TDMStyle  6 років тому +1

      +DubstebFC I’d go for something more like a styling cream in that case. That will give you texture but a much lighter hold and allow your hair to be more flowy.

    i have pretty thin hair but blumaan hybrid is really not working well for me as it's not holding even after 2+ scoops and hairspray. Do you think the cavalier clay will work better for me ? Currently using HDF claymation as my daily user now. Appreciate your help! :D

    • @TDMStyle
      @TDMStyle  6 років тому

      Dingxuan Seow Yeah Hybrid definitely has less hold than Cavalier - although maybe try doing just one scoop? I've found if I use too much Hybrid, it gets too heavy and my hair falls down. Cavalier is definitely closer to Claymation in texture (of the product itself), so if Claymation works well for you, Cavalier probably would too. Hope this helps!

    Hi, would you say this is easier to wash out than claymation? Or about the same and if I do use it daily will I have to shampoo every day?

    • @TDMStyle
      @TDMStyle  7 років тому

      +Jacob Gutierrez Hello! I find this a bit easier to wash out, when shampooing. But they are pretty similar in that regard. And no, I don't recommend shampooing every day - as long as you don't use too much, you can use some dry shampoo on day 2 hair rather than washing.

      Cavalier will work for you - it's designed for people with thicker hair. Although to be honest, I'm now using Clutch by TheSalonGuy and I like it way better than Cavalier. It has similar results in terms of hold and texture, but feels way lighter in the hair and washes out way more easily.

    • @TDMStyle
      @TDMStyle  7 років тому

      +Kevin Gigante Hello and welcome! I think it will - the bentonite clay in it can be plumping for finer hair. If your hair is really fine, you might also benefit from using something like a thickening tonic or volumizing powder too :)

      TDM Style Does the product flake overtime? I've bought clays before where it would start to flake after a few hours. Also, if I were to run my fingers through my hair, would It tug? Is there any kind of resistance? (ive bought clays before where if i were to use my fingers to readjust my hair, my fingers would be "stuck"). Or am I able to run my fingers through my hair as if there is nothing there?

    • @TDMStyle

    I find it hard to believe a product made by some random dude on UA-cam is good enough to compete with high end stuff like Hans de fuko etc. Do you have info on who developed this ?

    • @TDMStyle
      @TDMStyle  7 років тому +2

      +datAero Developed by the BluMaan (Joseph Andrews's company) team in collaboration with Cam Cretney. Links to their channels in the description, or you can just check out the BluMaan website. I wouldn't really say Joe is just "some dude" at this point. He has his own successful company with a line of hair products and a huge online community.
      Sometimes hair products are a bit like craft beers imo. A smaller, "home brew" type company generally makes better stuff than the brands that become too big and have huge markets, because they start dropping quality for quantity.

    How does this compare to Lockhart

    • @TDMStyle
      @TDMStyle  7 років тому

      +ryan pirl I haven't used Lockhart's so I can't say from experience. Looking solely at the label and ingredients, Lockhart's is designed for a more medium hold allowing for movable hair. This is designed as a heavy hold for thicker hair types. Lockhart's is probably a bit on the waxier side since it has petrolatum, beeswax and kaolin where as this has bentonite, kaolin, and wax. Hope this helps!

      +jjumpman I like it better than Claymation, ye

      TDM Style I agree man. Claymation is only good for neat hairstyles and lacks in texture too. Cavalier Clay is better in terms of both texture and hold too.

    why you like cavalier better than claymation?

    • @TDMStyle

      +Lintang McCartney Several reasons - for me Cavalier has more hold, less oiliness at the end of the day, and Claymation seems to break down more if I touch it throughout the day.

      I think the only problem for me is that I have thin hair

    • @TDMStyle
      @TDMStyle  7 років тому +1

      +Anson Siv In that case you might benefit from something like a thickening tonic or a volumizing powder too. And def look for clays containing bentonite, as that can be plumping and add a bit more fullness :)

    very nice copycat of robin james review style

    • @TDMStyle
      @TDMStyle  6 років тому +4

      I have great respect and admiration for Robin - he's one of my favorites! So while I definitely take a great deal of inspiration from him and his videos, I'm certainly not trying to just be a "copycat." My aim is to create content at a similar level of quality and professionalism, as Robin sets the bar very high. My thought is that if there are other wavy, thick-haired people like myself who enjoy Robin's content/reviews, they might also enjoy reviews done by a person with the same hair type as them, done in a similar fashion and level of honesty and thoroughness.

    Good reliable info consistently. but I hate that dumb little face he makes just when he finishes each sentence, just before a jump cut.
