- All things considered, Saints Row is a worthy reboot for the franchise. It’s not something that reinvents the wheel; it’s a pretty formulaic open world that comes with most of the genre’s trappings. But in the face of its fast and frenzied gameplay loop and varied mission designs, these gripes get reduced to minor inconveniences as you embark on a journey to become the biggest gang in the game's world.

Even if everything else was perfect (it's not, the gameplay is exactly what we had 10 years ago with no improvements or innovation) it still wouldn't deserve an 8.

Idk how well this game will play. I do know that personally I find overhyped games like witcher 3 to be trash and ive liked games like saints row 4 thats universally hated. Ive realized people are stupid and most hyped games are just dumpsterfires that idiots drool over and vice versa that some games people say are bad are actually good. Thats why ultimately, even with reviewers, you can only really try a game yourself to know whether you like it or not.
Also iits better to look at both positive and negative reviews to have a more informed opinion.

Yeah he pretty much ignores all the bad things about the game. It's possible he's one of the people who thinks it'll be patched so doesn't include it in the review, but that's now how things should be done. This game deserves an 8, if it's out of 100.
Interesting that they're not showing any of the totally bugged-out vehicle (and other) collision physics that every other review is hammering on. Paid review?

@@alizaidi2893 it's funny how after people actually played the game, now the game is some how fun. Never listen to prerelease reviews and definitely not on open worlds games that can easily have a glitch over looked in the testing phase. You have to remember they are using old engines on new hardware, you are not going to get a next-gen experience until the games are build for next-gen NOT crossgen. Save this post for everytime you play a crossgen to remind you that, those games are not fully utilized and its not the systems it's the old development tool that are bottlenecking the game

I feel like sometimes reviewers are just apologists for mediocre games. If you don't call out a game for being bad or even take its faults seriously, then these developers don't have to improve on anything. This isn't a worthy reboot to Saints Row, in fact it might be the nail in the coffin for the whole franchise. Maybe I'll finish my playthrough of The Third Remastered.
If you like The Third Remastered, then you’d like the reboot. People are blowing shit way out of proportion. I’ve personally never cared about the story in any of the Saints Row games but loved doing all the activities in the open worlds. Most reviewers predominantly just mainline stories because they don’t have the time to play a game the way a normal gamer would. That’s not the way I would personally play a Saints Row game.
Honestly 4 was my coffin nail. It was a decent game, but a terrible SR. I did like how it tied up some series plot points, but the overall story and context detached it from being a hard knox gangland drama that leaves the absurdity to the players. They just wanted to shove absurdity down our throats, but at least they did it in a hit-or-miss way.
This.... this is like the developers went and did a bunch of shrooms and acid out in the southwest then came back and threw something together to meet a bunch of publisher checkmarks.

Yup... the more I play this, the more it's clear that this is a shill review. I'm not saying join the hivemind, but c'mon... you type Saints Row into UA-cam and among your positive review, the is *n o t h i n g b u t h a t e* about this new game. You have to scour down a ladder of people's call-outs and dismay with the game to find anything of the old series.
Do you know how sad that is? A few weeks we could type that title in and get everything about how beloved the series is and what makes every individual game enjoyable. Now it's quite literally nothing but dismay over how a 16 year legacy and 8 years of anticipating its evolution was completely shattered. This has Zelda levels of expectation to many. Has there ever been a divisive (mainline) Zelda game? A divisive GTA game? No. And it's not only like it got lukewarm... it got frozen solid. On a relative scale, this game crashed HARDER than Starwars. At least that has _some_ fans that cling to it over the name. This... irredeemable.
So in conclusion... you clearly don't represent the minds of gamers. Hate to discredit you over a single review, but this is really like saying that mud is as good as gold. You'd either be out of your right mind, or paid to do that.
And this is why as much as everyone said i was crazy I always stuck up for saints row 4. Say what you want about s.r.4. it at least had more identity than this...

I first played witcher 3 in 2021 and it was still a buggy boring shitfest. Id say saints row 4 is better than overhyped cdproject trash if that makes my gauge more clear.

No its divided. At this point. I mean ranging from 5 or 8 out of 10. But I don't think any saints row was reviewed well. Most reviewers highly misunderstood the game because of the GTA comparison. My heart goes out to the people who didn't get what they wanted and expected from the series. As a casual SR fan who just dicks around and sticks to side quests, I'm excited for this game. Not feeling the lack of NPCs walking around on sidewalks though.

I have been playing since 12 am it’s 7:26 this review is lying 😂 it’s definitely a paid review. The game is fun but it is SUPER BASIC like no world interaction no immersive feeling if I was not so thirsty for a new game I would be back on red dead redemption 2 playing the single player mode again.
Well at least this review isn't seemingly unfairly bashing the game because everyone is doing it. And from I what've I seen a 8 is a little to high of a score as of right now my score is going to be somewhere in the low to mid 7s as in the game isn't utter garbage but it does have visible flaws.

Battlefield 2042 broken shooting glitches. (ie: sometimes bullets don't cause any damage to enemies)
CP2077 tier mission breaking glitches.
PS3 tier graphics but with a lot of AA.
Fortnite knockoff characters but with that disgusting looking and dated SJW corpo-punk vibe.
Terrible scripting and AI.
Terrible netcode that causes people to disconnect randomly.
Had none of these during my 20+ hours of playing but whatever...
Right now I need to wait until this game goes on sale I hear there’s something not right about it

The og saints characters were always a bit cringy but they were at least endearing. From what I’ve seen of the new game they just don’t seem likeable at all. I’m probably way older than the demographic the game is targeting, but the game just seems so out of touch with what gamers want these days.
Pierce was but he was funny sometimes too. Everyone loved OG Shaundi and Gat.
I am 29 and i was fine with them. I dont need macho 100% heterosexual characters everywhere, i do not have a problem with variety on certain level but some people obviously do... which tells more about them than about this game. While the characters are pretty much stereotype image of modern teens, they do evolve and in the end, you may even like them.
But fuck characters. This game is no story based RPG. 95% of time is driving, shooting, doing side stuff completely alone and if you really hate the characters, you can skip most cutscenes. Saints Row was never about characters, but about activites, side quests, crazy jokes and fun stuff.
And what is more enjoyable than doing good old insurance fraud.
@@XXveny well said mate. I’m really only going off some of the gameplay/ cutscenes I’ve seen. I probably shouldn’t make up my mind about them till I play the game. As I said in my comment before I found the original saints a bit cringy but I always thought they were likeable, not because they were macho though. To be honest I’ve never really thought of them like that, but I can see how some might.
Saying all that, I’m not sure yet if I will play this game. I try not to let reviews sway me too much ( I really enjoyed 3 and that got some bad reviews) but this game is getting blasted, so I think I’ll wait till it’s on sale before I decide to give it a go.
But thank you, you really do make a good point! that it’s always been more about the gameplay than the characters with the saints row games, even if I think it a bizarre choice with what they went with for this game.
Biased review watch an independent reviewer. This game is BROKEN don’t listen to these giant UA-cam channels people they have to give good scores for the chance of repeat business with these massive companies.

IMO, I liked the game. Yes it has bugs and a lot of niggles that can be fixed by an update. But I don"t think This gme is worth all the hate. It is juat a fun game and i really liked the story and gameplay. I reccomend buying this game. and it has the wacky nature of all the earlier saints row games.
If you've been a fan of Saints Row since the beginning you would know why. Every choice to move away from GTA was a bad one. Purple took over everything, the UI looks cheap, and now the characters and dialog are extremely cringey.

This game looks like absolute trash. This is what Volition are putting out for next gen? Not impressed, not one bit. Hard pass for me. Also, that little ragtag bunch of idiots can't hold a candle to the actual Saints. I think I'll just go buy Saints Row IV. Ya know, an actual good game.

@@jornavyr2459 I suppose not no - I mean I haven’t even played the new one yet, it just seemed funny to me because I do remember very similar conversations last time round, and then as time passed people seemed to become okay with SRIV it will be interesting to see if that happens this time
All I care about are the customizations. I don't care about the graphics and gameplays.
