- As Dusk Falls is an incredibly easy game to judge within its opening hours. If, by the time you finish the first chapter, you find yourself liking the characters and wanting to know what happens, As Dusk Falls is great.
If it can’t grab you by that point, however, there isn’t any other reason to keep playing, thanks to its dull gameplay and hit-or-miss art style. - Ігри
I noticed that nothing about accessibility was mentioned. As a blind player, I was able to complete this and have the option of running through a modern story game. The narration on Xbox series x worked so well that even the letters and things of that sort were read perfectly fine.

I love how they are acting like a 30 dollar price tag is high for this type of game. I would compare this game much more to something like Heavy Rain, or Detroit Become Human, than to Walking Dead, and those games retailed at 60 dollars when released. This game is likely going to take you 7 to 10 hours to play through. I beat it in about the same time as I beat Until Dawn (another game the retailed at 60 dollars), and I found it to be a much more enjoyable experience, with much better writing, and much more complex and compelling characters. I don't really find the "exploring" aspect of interactive dramas compelling at all, in fact it usually feels like filler. When playing Detroit Become Human, or any of these games, and you are walking around a small area or "exploring" does it actually add any complexity the the gameplay or anything of value to this type of game? People play these games for the story, and the consequences of your decisions effecting the outcome of the game. I am perfectly happy to have this art style, and have them put their recourses into creating a compelling story, and hiring good voice actors, instead of wasting recourses putting small entire areas, just for your character to wander around in for a few minutes. As Dusk Falls really felt like they cut out the fat, and just focused on all of the reasons people actually play these types of games. 10/10 for me.
Played through once. It would make a good mini series. The QuickTime stuff works ok. It's a solid 4 outta 5

Just finished the game its a nice and chill experience in the evening. Was great before bed. Already looking forward to my 2nd play to see which way the story takes me
Great review that really sums it up well. With more fluid animation and some depth to the puzzles, it could have been an instant classic
Fluid animation? it’s kinda sad you think that a game that had more effort put into its animation to a default character model that can move however you want
This game is good grab a beer and hear out the story before bed great experience
Played it twice through Gamepass you can have different endings and outcomes but the story is still mainly the same events through out. I personally enjoyed it for what it was but only because I had Gamepass.
I doubt I'd of paid for it on it's own so experiencing it through Gamepass was pretty cool.

Beat it last night the game was actually good
On the bright side…many of those quick time events, if failed, can actually result in entirely different outcomes. I found some of the qtes difficult. And sometimes they pop up out of nowhere which makes me miss some of them.
Price is not an issue if it's on Gamepass
Finally we get a Max Payne sequel, just without the shooting parts
(as of 6/15/2024) until june 23 it will be 9.99 on steam. I was kind of surprised by how good the game was.

@@Enigmalake I just finished it myself and I definitely agree with Gamespot and IGN. The gameplay isn't for everyone, but the story was amazing.

This could have been so good, but the awful stop frame type animation makes my head hurt! I find it baffling that the important gameplay stuff isn't properly animated but you have background animation of car driving past in real time.

Not really. It can simply be classified as an rpg, role playing game would fit since your making numerous decisions that determine the outcome of the story your role playing as the characters

I know there's a variety of genre but this was sooo boring and uninteresting. I like VN's like 999, steins gate, dangan ronpa, ai Somnium files, raging loop ..hell even movie games like erika. This I can't even see it deserving anything higher then a 4

There is no comparison to walking dead series based on this review. Once again another filler for game-pass that would fail on its own merits. I am sure the story maybe interesting. I hate when they show a sister married to a white man that shouldn’t be in her hemisphere and the other way around. I don’t care what you say in comments.

Outside of race context. I never understood a fine woman not just by genetics want a man fat and out of shape man if she workout or if it’s on the other shoe. I work out and I am attracted to someone who does the same. I can see if something happen and the person became disabled and was initially in shape when you met. They now unable to workout like they use to cause of some tragedy/ sickness kept them from working out then you should stick with your mate.
As someone who played both, I enjoyed As Dusk Falls much better than any TellTale game, including walking dead season 1. The acting and storytelling are on a completely different level than Walking Dead, as well as the amount of choices that impact the final story. There are like 15 unique endings in this game. Walking dead season 1 was overrated, and super predictable. I could see that ending coming from a mile away...
