2014 Eric was walking past me in baggage claim at LAX intl. I yelled out "Best of the Best!" a he turned and smiled. I worked up the courage to walk over and damn! What a generously cool guy. Big hug, selfies...thought i was going home with him. Lol. Wished each other the best.
@PatrickSilent Actually, he got me in a playful headlock before I even knew what was happening. He was using a cane to walk at the time, so imagine my surprise. Bro was freakishly strong. I can see why the ladies like him. 😆
@@PatrickSilent ......Holy Shita, totally forgot about this underground classic - "NATURE OF THE BEAST" is pure awesomeness! (Eric at his sexy, badass best) 🧡💛💚💙💜
Mike is a champ for this interview. ive never seen Eric Roberts this comfortable and relaxed and just telling his story, this is like living room buddy to buddy conversation and this is great, this is how interviews should be. This man is a legend , he was doing great movies from his 1st movie and gave his lil sister her break and has been mistreated by Hollywood.
I have never been a fan of Eric Roberts. I didn't dislike him, I just wasn't a fan. This interview makes me think I need to watch his movies and shows and become a fan. Thanks for doing this interview!
Probably the hardest working actor in the business. And even when Erics done wrong, hes fairly humble about it. Just seems like a fantastic guy. Id let him stalk me as my doctor
Eric is a workhorse, constantly working... Met him a couple of times, he's literally the nicest person ever. Glad things with his family are going well now.
I worked with Eric Roberts for a couple days on a movie called American Sharia. Very nice guy. I nerd it out lol we talked about best of the best and the dark Knight, etc..
This was such a natural, laidback interview and I really loved how Eric talked about himself and about his wife and their strong bond, something I think most people want to find in their relationships but is often elusive. I will be checking out Eric’s work and thanks for this episode🤩
I lost my Dad at 19 and my Mom a little over a year ago. I thought I wouldn't know how to live without them, and it had nothing to do with maturity. If your friend loses one or both of her parents, she will find a way through. However, it is painful and shouldn't be dismissed because it happens to everyone. My sister, my brother, and my mother passed within the last few years. I have lost friends. What came from it eventually is an appreciation for all that I am blessed with and to try not to waste my time on meaningless crap. Family and friendships are everything. We can't blame people for not knowing how they will cope because they haven't experienced that kind of loss. Just my take. And yes, therapy is a good idea for anyone, for most. Anyway, love Mr. Roberts and I am glad he was a guest. 👍🏼
One of the best actors I have ever seen in my life. When I first watched doctor who, I first started with the tv movie which was an attempt to bring it back to the airwaves since it was cancelled in 1989, and it starred Paul mcgann as the doctor and Eric roberts as the master. I cosplayed as his incarnation of the master.
Are there any other women fawning over how much Eric ❤s his wife? He's like a teenager in love and wish my man was that vocal and expressive about his love for me like Eric does about his wife😊
The voice of Mongul in Justice League/Unlimited. Great to see Rosey getting amazing guest stars in his podcast. The Runaway train is one of my favorite films during his young career. Roberts is one of those actors that play any role with ease. He is a character actor. He is a natural chameleon. When he voiced Mongul in Justice League/Unlimited you can tell he is calculating just listening to his voice. Seeing the show adapt the storyline For the Man who has everything in the show and him as Mongul is just perfect. Now whenever I read that story i hear his voice.
I just finished listening to this episode and it was delightful. Eric definitely opened up and had so many great behind the scene stories. I found his view on honesty interesting. I definitely will have to check his book out. I am looking forward to getting my copy of Michael’s book.
I am currently listening to this episode now and I am learning so much about Eric. I love his character on Less Than Perfect. I found his view on honesty interesting. He definitely has a great career. Have a great week!
James Earl Jones from Best of the Best worked with Eric Roberts in The Ambulance where Eric's character works for Marvel Comics and has a scene with Stan Lee
One of the best Inside Of You i’ve ever listened with the great Eric Roberts, so clever and talking about evrything very simply, a real treat, thanks Michael 💙💙 and Ryan 💖💖 !!
I always liked Eric Roberts ever since Best of the best when I was little kid … he’s such a great actor was good to see him in Batman he belongs in the big movies! 🍿
I've actually never seen Paul McGann's 8th Doctor tv movie, but did listen to a season of his audios (the Chimes at Midnight is one of my favorite things ever) -- I'll have to look for these.
Would love to have heard Eric’s thoughts on working with Christopher Nolan & Heath Ledger on The Dark Knight but hard to touch on everything when you have such a long and varied career.
Runaway Train, what a powerhouse that one was. First thing I ever saw Eric in Best of the Best. cool unexpected roll, The dark Knight. Dude was in so many things I saw when I was younger
Eric Roberts has been making the rounds on podcasts lately! He was on Marc Maron's WTF podcast, and now he's on yours! Man, I love hearing him talk about stuff. Also, that red shirt he has on is very Masterful, if you know what I mean... ;)
U listened to this through my earbuds while working and the vision in my head was the Flash interviewing Mongul from the justice league animated series
Wow an Eric Roberts legend in the house ♥️ Eric is right being a grandparent is the best, the parents do get upset when we give to our grandchildren and spoil them and then give them right back. This is one of the best Episode, Thank you Michael for having Eric on the pod you Rock! Eric book sound awesome going to pick up a copy to have when I am in the hospital in December, since I will be in the hospital for awhile it will give me something to read along with my Stephen King book my son girlfriend just gave me.
Really wish RTD would bring Eric Roberts back as The Master in Doctor Who. He's been great in the Big Finish audios. As a time traveller there's no reason we couldn't get an earlier Master pop up in a story.
Eric Roberts early in his career was a giant, Hollywood etc can eat you up and if u involve urself in the lifestyle, drugs etc it can destroy, good for Eric to have survived. Never look back when u have turned the corner
The Pope of Greenwich village has to be his most iconic performance. I also loved Eric in Best of the Best, and the many villains he's portrayed. He is much more humble and kind than I would have expected, considering his level of fame. We need a Pope of Greenwich 2.
I first saw Eric in The Best of the Best. It inspired me to try martial arts. There's a great little movie he made called Purgatory with Randy Quaid, great movie.
He is right about emma...shes an amazing actress! Of course i dont no him or anything about his life except what i hear on tv etc. But i always felt bad for him with his family issues. Hes seems to have been honest about why there were prblms. I guess theres more to it.
I've been married 18 years and I know EXACTLY what Eric means when he says he still chases his wife and how he re-falls in love with her every few years.
Best of the Best is one of his best movies in his career and I kinda like the sequel too. DOA directed the late great Corey Yuen is actually a guilty pleasure of mine, super entertaining and actually a pretty accurate adaptation of the game itself. The Ambulance is not a bad movie either and has Stan Lee in a short acting role. Whether its a good or bad movie, Eric Roberts is always entertaining.

You need to watch The Pope of Greenwhich Village. Roberts was really good in that movie
Same here man, my only impression of him was in Dark Knight. Need to go pick up his memoir soon 😊
nah , he always plays the same kind of character
See these movies and you'll never forget his talent.
1. Pope of Greenwich Village
2. Runaway Train
3. Best of the Best
4. Star 80
Criminally overlooked in the dark knight as Sal Maroni. Dude was the essence of cool.

Eric has the most distinct voice, that's a compliment. He was fun to watch in the 90's tv show Less Than Perfect.
I like Eric Roberts. I was surprised by how much more I like him after this interview.
