Simon Pegg getting Timothy Dalton to play the main bad guy in Hot Fuzz is the best. That film to this day is just hilarious and the heavy weights with the English actors he got is quite impressive.
Michael, you called Simon a delight (which, of course, he is). But you are too. I love your podcast, and it means so much to me when you sincerely discuss these human issues (as you did with Simon re anxiety) which so many of us can relate to. It makes us all feel closer. Very very best to you. Adam (UK)
@ I concur. Only recently discovered how many different versions/edits there are. Have you seen the various cuts? Which is your favourite? It's subjective I suppose..
so glad i found your interviews. they aren't the typical interviews you find everywhere else. keep up the great work. Simon Pegg is a legend to me. he's put in the work and has proven his range. so humble and amazing. hope to meet him one day.
"Just growl... And hug me" Words to live by. Excellent interview... * Switches off phone, digs Spaced boxset out of cabinet, inserts DVD 1 and presses play *
@@MelissaGarrett1980 Ironically, I'm actually flat hunting at the moment after recently splitting with a girlfriend... I thought watching an old favourite would take my mind off it until the cafe scene in Ep 1 "Spacious 2 bedroom apartment, fully furnished, £90 a week". Couldn't get a wendy house for that these days!!
Michael, you are a master interviewer. You definately get "inside" of your guests. I also want to say I am 73 and a huge smallville fan. Watched the series multiple times. I said the first time I watched it years ago and was not familiar with you that your performance as Lex was academy award worthy. I hope your viewers are aware how good of an actor you are. Glad the surgey went well. Big fan of the podcast.
I watched SOTD so many times I became immune to the swearing and gore. At a Church lock-in (slumber party in a church), we got to bring movies to watch, I brought SOTD, and the room was uncomfortable after the C word was dropped 5 minutes in, people starting going to bed when Shaun's flatmate gives his "it's 4 in the f*cking morning!" monologue
Simon started off in a sketch based comedy show called Big Train, which also featured Nick Frost and Mark Heap who starred with him in Spaced. Very funny people. He cemented himself as a hero of my youth. his closing arc in the boys was tinged with sadness, I think its the most serious role I've seen him in (despite the show being a dark comedy.)
The first thing I ever saw Simon in was Shaun of the Dead, and I've loved him and Nick ever since. Simon seems like a truly wonderful guy, and I hope to meet him someday. Great interview, Rosey!
I just finished listening to this episode and it was delightful. Simon definitely opened up and had so many great behind the scenes stories. I enjoyed his take on Scotty and I loved his character on the Boys. We definitely need a part 2. Have a great week everyone.
Simon's autobiography is the best memoir I've ever read and I've read a ton of them . Thank you Simon for letting Lex deep inside of you. I mean Michael.
@@mcborge1 Oh my God I recently was reminded (on Tick Tok) of the skit in Big Train about the ban on jerking/wanking off in the office 😂😂😂😂 "Big Train" on BBC Two is probably less remembered now than (the equally fantastic) Ch4's "Smack The Pony" though sadly 😥

Great interview. Simon is a very knowledgable sci-fi movie nerd and it's no surprise he could write a Star Trek script. He was great as Scotty. I've never seen anything he's done that I don't like. And Nick Frost is effortlessly hilarious.
I watch 'Inside Of You' and 'Talk Ville' because of you and Tom Welling of course, not to forget Ryan, he's such a big part of it too. The guest are always a major bonus of this channel! (still the best Lex Luthor there ever was, because you brought the most humanity into the character.)
LOVE SIMON PEGG - and the cornetto trilogy, he is alos the best thing to happen to the MI series, and of course he is just what we all wish we were. an inspiration
Nice to see the guy landed on his feet, he saw star wars in 1978, I saw it in 1985 at the age of 18. Good movie, it was my very first movie I ever saw.
Simon Pegg. Always been a favorite actor of mine. Loved to see him in star trek, since Im a long time fan of that too! His movies will go down in history. It’s nice to hear from him
My fav Simon Pegg film is Paul, just very funny and affectionate towards sci-fi / comic book fans, second only to Galaxy quest. And Sigourney Weaver is in both!
Of kindness... when Shaun of the Dead came to Toronto for an advanced screening, the three lads weren't that well known, unless you knew about SPACED. Which we did. So after the screening, four of us met up with them afterward at their hotel and geeked out into the wee hours of the night. But he time Hot Fuzz came to town their stock had risen so at the after party Simon and Edgar were always talking with new fans (Nick had left cause he wasn't feeling well) so I waited until the end of the night to ask for photos with them. "Simon, not sure you remember me, but I was one of the four guys who hung out with you at the hotel after the Shaun of the Dead screening" "Yes, that was one of my favorite nights of the tour!". Whether he did or not doesn't matter it made me feel very good, and I'm sure if you can be yourself on tour and just enjoy the simple things like low key drinking and geeking out over Firefly and such then why wouldn't that be a great memory? I have two signed SPACED box sets because of those screenings.
Great podcast but for the love of all that is good in the world... will you please put your main UA-cam channel link everywhere you are?! E.g. there's no link to your main YT channel from your YT clips channel. Stumble on a clip while thumbing through YT and it's a real pain to find your main channel to watch the whole thing. Your main website, where your social icons are, doesn't have a YT link to your main channel. Nuf said... fan of the channel 👍👍

The joke on Benedict Cumberbatch during the making of Star Trek: Into Darkness is hilarious and Chris Pine with Pegg (more of Pegg's idea) by pranking Benedict Cumberbatch to put Newtron Cream and shake it off or something and Benedict realized he got punked. You can find the clip online and its the Graham Norton show.
I know exactly what he means by the extreme anxiety. Had a hundred times of sweating all over, jumping at the rustling of leaves or the slightest sounds... just a nightmare. Which is why I've been in this cave for a long, long time.
I worked in a comic book store in Camden in London in the 90s and Simon Pegg used to come in from time to time and he was a nice guy! So did Amy Winehouse (probably a few years later) but I never saw them at the same time.
Shaun of the Dead went to prove that the comedy-drama genre juxtaposition still works. If there was ever a premise fit for dry humor, it's the zombie sub-genre. Frost, Nighy, Pegg, what more needs to be said!
You're doing a fantastic job! I have a quick question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?
