This series doesn't get recognized enough.
Let's be honest, everyone. Sly Cooper is not getting an ending because Sucker Punch is sitting on the raccoon's back and breaking it without any reveals. Since they created the InFamous series and now that they are creating Ghost of Tsushima, there is no way another game with the raccoon burglar will ever be made. You'd think they sell the Sly Cooper name to another willing company like Insomniac did with Spyro, but nope, no word of anyone picking up Sly Cooper. So Sly Cooper is probably retired for good, never to see another game. 2020 might surprise us but after the live animated movie showed no progress, I think we can say that nobody give two flying di**s about Bentley, Murray and Sly anymore. I'm only stating facts: No word of a Sly game. Then again, no Jak and Daxter remake has shown up, only Ratchet has gotten a reboot.

Well Sanzaru made sly 4, but we all know that that game was mediocre at best
The Sly Cooper series needs a proper ending, no cliffhangers, of course I want the 5th game to be made.
The next one has to the end since you know companies want games that make big money

I completely agree. I did love the 4th game but it left it on a shitty cliffhanger that needs to be finished. I think if it did the 5th where they save Sly but somehow they accidently give time tech to someone and they try and re-write the past. But the big thing I think would be cool is if somehow you get to meet and work alongside Sly's father and the big bad of the game would be Clockwork, maybe even Clockwork pre-robitic transformation. We could get Sly fighting with the chance to save his father and his father learning he is his future son and learning about his fate and accepting it to insure his sons future. I think ending the game by revisiting the beginning would be a great end to the franchise. Then and only then would I want a remaster/remake like the crash trilogy did.
@@Darkrising1993 I'd say the whole game should be about Clockwerk's past: Why he hated the Coopers, what led him change his body into metal, etc. And because of the team rewriting time, mainly to get to Sly, it brings Clockwerk back (and consequentially Neyla and Arpeggio)
In my opinion the 3rd game is the proper ending with the 4th being fan fiction

I just want to know what happened to Sly after Thieves in Time.
I think he'll meet up with the rest of his ancestors, each of which have some magical gobbledygook methods of time travel that allow him to meet with other ancestors, and eventually return to his timeline, all the while, the vindictive Peneleope is trying to destroy cooper family, being revealed as the one who created Clockwork, and this time, sly is there to make sure his ancestors survive.
That's what I'm hoping.

The Sly Cooper series is most definitely my favorite game series of all time, and I would absolutely LOVE to see the original trilogy remastered (preferably on the PS5) along with a continuation of the story whether it's right after Sly 3 or after Sly 4.

Sly 1, 2, 3 would be kinda cool wit good graphics too. After they put the 4 games on the PS5, they can finally put out the 5th game we’ve all been waiting for, and end the series.

@@dadyos I get what you mean, but seeing how well Insomniac pulled off a remaster of the 1st Ratchet & Clank game, the possibility of recapturing that said magic is always out there with a different dev team who is passionate enough for the challenge.

The fantastic platforming
Thr interactable free roam worlds and sub worlds
It had unique comic book style visuals and gameplay
Unique characters with their own personalities, their own strengths and weaknesses
Excellent character development
A pretty good storyline
It had cool gadgets to spice things up
And it was one of the first heist games.
Sly 2 is definitely one of the best games of the ps2

Sly Cooper 5 need to happen after the cliffhanger in Sly 4, I could imagined the world's would be like this since Sly didn't met the others famous Raccoons thiefs family members:
1- Eygpt at 13 century BC.
2- Scotland at 15 century.
3- Caribbean 16 century.
4- England Victorian era/ 19 century.
5- East Europe at early 20 century.
6- France at the 1970s.

While I think time travel and ancestors are overdone in Sly series (one of the reasons I love Sly 2 is that it's his own adventure rather than following his ancestors), that would be a good set of locations.

I agree with you, and honestly I didn't like the idea of Sly Cooper 4 about time machine because a thief with time machine that would make him overpower thief if you could imagin that.
Honestly if I am the one who wrote Sly 4 so I would made the story about Bently heard about a rich secret society/organisation and cult that control the world, banks and behind Clockwrek since it found it at Pharaohs era(similar to Illuminate) and they used to worship Clockwrek.
So Sly was thinking to stool all the members leaders of them which they called the Council of 13 or The Majestic 12.
And I would planning the game worlds would be like this:
0- Las Vegas(the intro).
1- Washington DC.
2- New York or Detroit.
3- Los Angeles & Hollywood.
3.5- Area 51(short level)
4- Some where in Mexico(maybe Mexico City).
5- Amazon & Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.

6.5- New Zealand or Easter Island(short level).
7- Dubai, U.A.E.

But since Sly 4 already done about time traveling so the only thing I could say is Sly 5 should happening about Sly met his other members of the family then maybe I hope we would have Sly 6 or reboot with kinda same of my idea.

I think they should redo Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time with Sucker Punch making it instead and then do Sly 5.

They had input over the plot and made sure Sanzaru got the mechanics right. Everything people don’t like about Thieves in Time is due in part to Sucker Punch

Nothing would make me happier than for this trilogy to be remastered, the controls and mechanics always felt so smooth and do to this day. All that’s needed is graphic tune-ups & some sound redesign

Nothing beats the original. A remake would be a waste of time . I want them to focus on the series for the future not the series we all ready have and a remake would ruin the original.
How Penelope turned into a Villian for p much no reason in sly 4 pissed me off still, and I really hope that wasn't the real Penelope.

Well tbh she originally likes sly and switched to Bentley in seconds, so maybe a bitch but not generic evil, that was most likely Penelope but she might've been brainwashed,forced or did it for some other odd reasons.

@@DoctorInk20 yeah they just needed an easy villain to add because Penelope isnt a new character, we know Penelope which makes the character very easy to understand and therefore doesnr take as much work as any other boss or character, how pathetic, but at the same time, not every ally of the cooper gang is a real member, but why penelope, not the guru, not the dancing lizard, not panda, nope it has to be a main characters girlfriend, like wtf, but it was partially related to the start of the story when penelope disappeared, maybe in sly 5 or reboot but reboot will be trash so sly 5 where Penelope might uno reverse and good.
If I'm remember correctly she changed because she thought beantly was being used for his genius and wanting him to do something better, with her. If im remembering the correctly I actually like her character change

I wouldn't mind if they changed Bentley's dialogue in the final cutscene from "Time will tell. Literally! 'Cuz I'm building a time machine to find out!" to something along the lines of "Who knows what the future holds?"
I know it sounds crazy but hear me out:
Since there are some people who don't like "Thieves in Time", changing Bentley's final line would be the remake's way of ignoring "Thieves in Time" entirely.
In the sense of Sly Cooper being remade, it will probably be made to be released in 2022 as a 20th year anniversary.
I get so thrilled anytime anyone even mentions Rocket Robot on Wheels even for a moment. It’s my favorite game of all time and so underrated. Nobody ever talks about it! And it’s worth talking about! Another great video!(:
I'm surprised by how many people missed the biggest point of Sly 3. About how Sly's ancestry (especially his father) is not at all an ancestry to be proud of (full of double-crossing, condescending, criminals) and for him to make a name for himself, regardless of his family history. But Sly 4 disregards that whole aspect and portrays them as pretty cool people. So I'd like a sequel to actually do justice to that.
Crash team racing should have a Sly Cooper Grand Prix and that could be a great way o bring him back

I thought the gameplay was fine, but the story definitely left a lot to be desired. In a perfect world, either that game is officially declared non-canon so that the gameplay is still there without tainting the series with its story, or have Sly 5 somehow redeem the story, but I'm not sure if that can be done elegantly.

@@budgetzestiny9997 I'll admit, it's been a tick since I've played it, and I was a younger kid back then who was just happy to have another Sly Cooper game. The loading times were definitely atrocious, though.

To be honest I thought exactly the same before I did a replay of all the sly cooper games (yes, even the playstation move bs), and to be honest, the fourth entry isn't bad only because of its obvious performance issues. It's just an all round unoriginal, nostalgia grabbing game.
So in my opinion, it's not as much about the game being horrid, because I've seen worse games released on the ps4 (knack 2 etc.), it's more about how bad it is COMPARED to the other titles. Anyway I recommend giving all of the games a chance if you ever get a hold of a ps3, or if you prefer, just use an emulator

Perhaps if there is a fifth Sly Cooper gang, I think a proper plot would involve Bentley, Murray, Carmelita, Dimitri, and the Panda King utilizing Clockwerk's body as time machine to retrieve Sly, with the thief himself being infatuated with the last of the Egyptian Pharohs, Cleopatra, who looks exactly like Carmelita.

I think "not" remaking/rebooting Sly Cooper Trilogy would be missed opportunity considering how good the original three games were
I'm a big fan of the original Sly Cooper series. Let's talk about Sly 4.
Sanzaru Games only made TWO mistakes with Sly 4.
1) They ditched the comic book art style for that crappy Fairly Odd Parents art style.
2) They made Penelope evil! Bentley and Penelope made a cute couple. Instead, they should've made it out that Penelope had been hypnotised and that she snapped out of the hypnosis after the boss fight.
Otherwise, I felt Sanzaru Games did justice with Sly 4. A good storyline, bigger hub worlds, a unique playable Cooper every episode, new gadgets, costumes with unique abilities etc.
As for the cliffhanger ending, I wouldn't blame that on Sanzaru. It's clear Sanzaru were only sanctioned to make one game. Sanzaru probably made a cliffhanger ending with the hopes that they would be given the green light to make Sly 5 with the help of public outcry.
Some of y’all saying there needs to be a Sly 5 because of the obvious cliffhanger in Sly 4. In this regard, you’re right. That is a cliffhanger that NEEDS a sequel to explain what the heck is going to happen after, but I think a reboot or remake of the original trilogy with some new graphics and maybe some story extensions would be awesome. Each game ends on a cliffhanger by the by. Sly 1 ends with Clockwerk being shown as alive even after he was defeated. Sly 2 could have been an ending if the gang went their separate ways and stayed that way but also paved the way for a third game for the gang to get back together for more stealthy shenanigans. Sly 3’s ending is much like Sly 2, in that it is a cliffhanger but is also a perfectly fine ending. Sly pretends to have amnesia to be able to leave behind his life of thievery and have a relationship with Carmelita. With the head of the band out of the picture, it left possibilities for future games (thieves in time) but I think it acted as a great ending to a wonderful trilogy. Whatever happens with a tv series, remake, or reboot, I’ll still be a die hard sly fan and I hope that the series goes somewhere great.

I grew up playing this game and this is one of the most underrated game series of all-time
Sly Cooper should come back honestly. I replayed the old games over the summer and really enjoyed them and I completely forgot about the cliffhanger ending of thieves in time. It should be rebooted to have the series have a proper ending
I actually have a full reboot idea... I've had it for a while now. I am a writer, sadly not yet professionally published, but hope to be one day. In my mind, I think a reboot should, in fact, simplify and backtrack. I think the reboot should follow the place of Sly's father. It's no surprise to what he looks like. We may have never seen his face but we are told multiple times Sly looks just like his father had looked. I think one standalone game in itself should be a game where we play Sly's father. That way we get a break from Sly we don't realize we need, we get the next "Sly Cooper" game, and we get to retreat back to our origins and once again SIMPLIFY. Also, the title of this game, if I were to make it would simply be called "Cooper".
If you disagree I understand but this is my argument to what should happen.
I keep waiting for Sly Cooper 5 after that ending. And the movie or TV shows, whatever comes first.
And I agree that Sly Cooper must be remade, the first three in a collection as Uncharted, the fourth maybe not as it only would be a remaster.

If Sly Cooper Gets retired, I'm writing a letter of complaint to Sanzaru Games. Those guys deserve to hear from fans like us that Sly Cooper has a place in this world and leaving the series unfinished is painfully inconsiderate. People don't seem to realize all the potential that the Sly Cooper series has, so I put in a vote both for Rebooted and Remastered.

Though I think the Sly Cooper games are fine just the way they are, it would be cool if they remade the series, and made a new game in the proses, but that would be to much work! 🤷♀️

Nobody seems to understand that Sly 5 would be a pre-sequel as well as a perfect entry point for newcomers. It's a prequel because sly 5 is all about the origins of the thievious racoonus, the origins of clockwerk, and the origins of the clockwerk/cooper rivalry. But at the same time it's a sequel because obviously it takes place after sly 4. Sly is the one that gives slytunkhamen the idea to write the thievious racoonus. Penelope is the one that helps create clockwerk. It's progressing the story for old fans, while at the same time re-introducing the story to new players. It's perfect. Why am I the only one saying this?

I think a reboot would be amazing! My family and I continue to play these games to this day. When we're together and weather's bad or someone's sick for an extended time we play through them. Most recently they provided my dad some much needed entertainment during his recovery from surgery!
As much as I love and enjoy this series, I would be okay with a remake. In the end there's always the originals and the HD collection on PS3 to fall back on. It would be pretty interesting to see the series in a slightly different but mostly modified/updated art style. I would love extra content added like more storylines and added to cut scenes. While I may be easily entertained, I do agree Sly 4 is a mess. I do mainly consider it canon for the simple fact that at the end of Sly 3 Bentley mentions building a time machine. Like most people, I was surprised with Penelope's betrayal. It was a good concept and everything and possibly needed for character development. Although it could have been explained better unless that was to be saved for the sequel. I don't think Sly 4 has to be completely scrapped. There is a small glimmer of hope that it could be redeemed in Sly 5 if they clean up everything and tighten loose ends. If they remake the first three games they should give the same treatment to the fourth one so they all match and look like they are from the same series. I still like the title Master of thieves for Sly 5. It's one of the original titles fans came up with for the fake PS3 and PS4 game cases on Google Images.
Sly and his gang is the thing that got me into gaming in the first place and it holds a really special place in my heart, I would love to see it make a great comeback, it deserves more than it gets

The Sly Cooper Trilogy should be Remade from the Ground-Up by Bluepoint Games (OR Sucker Punch if they're willing to do it), and if Bluepoint does a well enough job, create a brand new trilogy (Again: Sucker Punch could if they're willing to do it). Regardless I don't think Sly Cooper should be retired.

I agree with you in that the original Sly trilogy needs a remake. It's an underrated franchise.
Hopefully a good 'Spyro Reignited' esque remake would be enough to woo gamers so that the Sly Cooper fanbase can grow from a cult following to a sizeable operation.

A remaster of the same exact games would be great. The same exact games. No reimagining, no rehash, just give the games from before better more detailed graphics. Clockwerk had the most perfect build up of any villain of all time and a remake or reboot would completely destroy that.
We just need one more Sly game
Hopefully if we ever get the show or movie and it does well, a remake of the original trilogy could happen. And if THAT does well, demand for a new game could cause one to also be made. (Preferably not in the movie/show’s art style though, it works as a one time thing for the movie but I would love seeing the original art style make a come-back)

I’m new here, but i must say that intro is fresh.
Personally I like the fact that Bentley lost his legs. It made way for the gang to split up and join together along with many more open doors for character development along the way in sly 3 along with that amazing triple jump and funnier ways to steel from people as when Bentley you were required to put them to sleep and then steal the coins.
If the 2nd and 3rd game had Online co-op for up to 3 people with missions modified for when multiple people are in the session, along with free roam... oh. I'd love it.

I agree with your opinion to a certain extent. I don't want the original 3 games changed. I understand where you're coming from considering they are getting quite old especially since they originally released on the PS2, but I think if the trilogy was just remastered and released at the same time as the TV show it would do just a good. Then the TV series can clear up any plot holes left or just add to the original series. If they want to make the show unique and its own thing then just give it an origin story like Sly's actual origin from when he met Bentley and Murray since we've never really seen that before. Obviously this is just my opinion, but I think this would fit perfect and allow Sony to set up an actual finale to the series by ending the show with the cliffhanger and having to play the 5th and final game to find out what happens.
I'd love for any of those options,but as a die hard fan,as you called,there would be nothing I would like to more than have Sly as a fighter in Smash Ultimate.
I mean,a new remake and reboot could turn out amazing!But that's thing...its in the past.Sly was great and he still is and i feel that while i want other people to experience these amazingly crafted masterpieces(trilogy),everyone knows that Smash features amazing icons from all around the gaming world.And I know Sly deserves to be in that.

There's so many comments saying "make Sly 5", but similarly to what I thought of Sly 4: where can the story *go* from here? 3 wrapped up everything neatly, the characters have grown into better people - Sly, certainly - and are living happily ever after. That in mind, 4 *contradicts* the very core of the trilogy's ending.
Remaking or rebooting the original is also a bad idea, because it just further erases gaming history. I count the recent remakes/remasters under this too. *B-Mask's* Spyro video explains this far better. Also check out his Sly Retrospective.
Also also, Bentley being crippled is unfortunate, yes, but it's *important.* Clockwerk's evil may be gone, but he's left a lasting mark on Sly and his friends.
I'd love to see an episode on Klonoa or Blinx the Time Sweeper. As for Sly I unfortunately have never played any of the games dispite having a PS2 for most of my life. I am definitely looking to change that soon as I do have interest in the series. If it did end up being remade I'd go for it in a heartbeat

Aand now I want to play Sly again. Sly 2 was first one I owned personally and probably the best out of them all. What makes 2 better than 3 for me is mostly bottles and it being more memorable, it also had some fun glitches and some weird places you could explore. Overall one of my all time favorite series.
As much as I want a follow-up to the ending of Thieves in Time, it overall left me dissapointed, and tentative for fear of another Sly game leaving me unsatisfied.

I personally see the Sly Cooper series much like the Shrek series in reviews of non youtube reviews, Sly Cooper And The Thievius Raccoonus won the first title of the Greatest Hits in contracts to Shrek receiving the first Oscar of best animated feature nominee, Sly 2 Band Of Thieves became the best Sequel and highly more popular then the first game similar to Shrek 2's success, Sly 3 Honor Among Thieves had bad reviews and considered the least favorite out of the bunch much like how Shrek The Third recieved negative reviews upon release, and Sly Cooper Thieves In Time eventually gained mixed reviews in concuction to Shrek Forever After's reviews.
I think they should retcon Thieves in Time, then retire it. Make Honor Among Thieves the official end of the series. But if they were to retcon Thieves in Time and still make another Sly game anyway, it would be cool to see Raleigh, Mz. Ruby, and Jean Bison come back.

I believe that all the games should be remade for modern consoles and NOT be exclusive to the PlayStation. If Crash, Spyro, MediEvil, and Battle for Bikini Bottom can get remade, why not Sly Cooper? I do not see any reason not to.

I love the Sly Copper game.
Not only did Sly 4 have a cliffhanger ending, but that was the secret ending. It is even more cliffhangery if you dont get that secret ending. I didn't know there was a secret ending at first and it just ended with Sly gone missing. I was never bothered by this because I just assumed they were going to make a sequel but no..... If the Film or TV series ends up becoming a reality I would like it to tie up that ending. I would prefer a 5th game but if either or both happen I am down with that.

Sly 2 is literally my favorite game of all time. I've spend thousands of hours on the game and I've had so much fun. But with such greatness comes a downside. It's the only game in the entire franchise where it is impossible to replay jobs. This is a real issue because imagine how fun it would be, to replay earlier missions with the 100% completion Mega Jump? Or to replay bosses with the Mega Jump. That would be so much fun! This means that, while the game is amazing to play on its own, after you fully beat the game, you don't have much else to do other than Super Jump around the place. The game also has a couple of crashes here and there. Black holes are fairly common if you just activate your paraglider in a tigh space, and you can also crash the game really, really easily. I'm surprised the dev's haven't noticed this at all while playtesting. But if you go to episode 7, and enter the bear cave _after_ the job in there is done, if you then wake up the bears, the game will immediately crash. Thieves in Time has had more instances of crashes than Sly 2 in my experience, but with Sly 2, a crash isn't that bad. It's just a quick restart and if you were in the middle of a job, well... sucks to be you I guess. A fairly dumb thing too is that the HD Trilogy is not on the PS Now store. I know I can just play the HD collection on my PS3, but playing it on a PS4 could be fun too! All in all, Sly 2 is my absolute favorite game of all time. And it will stay that way for a long time as well.
