Huge thanks Vivi for analyzing that poster I know that must have taken you so long to do but I'm sure when I speak for everyone we all appreciate it thanks. 👍
Yep, they still PROPERLY acknowledge one of the best IPs that the PS2 has to offer & it’s beautiful, unlike ANOTHER Sony developer who’s too busy suckin’ off their zombies in a beyond unnecessary remake 😒…….bastards.
I love the idea that all the fiendish five tried to escape except the Panda King after Sly 1. Everyone has their cells wide open except the Panda King, who is staying put. This good behavior is probably the first of many that let him go home sooner. In contrast everyone else got put in higher security, haha..
The ape guys on the ground floor of the building in the poster are actually the mercenaries that Carmelita hires to work for her in Sly 3 just so you know. But besides that I am pretty sure you got everything. Well done, and you taught me quite a few things about the series on the development side that I didn’t know
Love it! I ordered it through PlayStationGear and I can't wait to receive it! Moreover, I think it would be safe to say that, if this poster was canon, it would be just after Sly 1. This is just a police office so having the Fiendish Five in it is already very surprising. Neyla is a member of Interpole and maybe, she is here to bail Dimitri out. They are both from the Klaww gang and Arpeggio needs Dimitri for his plan. Maybe, that is when he got to enroll Dimitri in his scheme by getting him out of prison.
I'm glad that some people still remember the unused character Zig and Zag. And one character who never appears in the game, only comic, Winthorp. And descansa en paz, (rest in piece) Music composer.
Wow, you really went in-depth. Thanks for the quality Sly content! I just finished replaying Sly 4 after forgetting about the franchise(last I played it was back in 2015) and I'm glad you are keeping the hope for another game alive!
I could be wrong on this but I seem to recall Sly referencing a blue dress in some banter with Carmelita in one of the games. Also, I don't know if you can still get these today, but back a decade ago, you used to be able to download compressed files called "Fan Kits" containing concept art and various files from Sucker Punch games on their website. I actually still have the Sly Cooper and inFAMOUS ones downloaded (I think Rocket had one too but I may not have that one) and saved on my computer with some of the Sly ones containing (then) hi resolution scans of some of the concept art mentioned in the poster and shown off in the Sly 2 Cairo level. Edit: Added everything contained within the ().
Maaaaaaan i love this franchise so much!! I didn't know about this illustration, i really hope sly is not dead and i hope suckerpunch give us more new games in the near future, i really hope so :c
One Sly 3 Easter egg you forgot to mention: the ape mercenaries in Sly 3 - they're the ones on the second level staircase with the stink bomb with presumably Lt. Gronk preceding on level 3 by his lonesome. They can also be found exiting the cop (presumably SWAT) van on the curb.
You must have done a lot of research on that poster. Has so many interesting references and stuff to learn about. Like I never even heard of Rocket Robot on wheels, and I didn't know Sucker Punch made a game that old, especially for the Nintendo 64. I think Jojo the raccoon is where Sucker Punch must have got the idea from to make Sly, just maybe. This is a fantastic piece of art. And I'm amazed to see that someone made something that special to celebrate Sly Cooper's 20th anniversary.
