When you live with a dry, powerless, man driven religion then it’s easier to walk away. They obviously don’t know the Jesus I know. He has healed, delivered, restored, protected, and provided supernaturally in my life and others. Once you really encounter him and look back on his perfect track record, then the enemy can’t deceive you like these guys.
I hope people realize in these comments that just because it doesn’t happen in YOUR church does not mean it isn’t happening. I grew up in a evangelical Christian church and I know for a fact that these stats are true as much as you hate them. I’ve seen first hand my church members and even Christian family members be openly a bit racist or having racist views without realizing it. I soon realized this so I moved churches and kept moving until I realized that this is a big issue in the Christian evangelical church . Now does this happen in every church? No of course not but it is an issue that should be discussed more. I’ve decided to practice my Christianity in my home where I don’t get the word of the church but the word I believe in which is the word of god.
Yeah, that makes sense. Cause I know this doesn’t happen in my church, but I also believe the stats. It’s just the sad truth that a lot of people are racist.
Christians that are racist are not christian at all. Without love we are nothing according to Paul's words, in the Romans/Corinthians.
@@joshuamartinpryce8424 everyone sins, that doesn’t mean they aren’t Christians.

@@joshuamartinpryce8424 yea you’re right they aren’t Christian but they believe they are and they stay being like that in the church making it difficult for people to worship in that kind of setting that’s why I get that people are leaving churches for it
Damn. I never knew I wanted this from these two! Hearing Rhett call out racist white evangelical peoples bullshit felt so good! Not just because I like him and detest how racists hide in their faiths, but just hearing these two talk about politics is like yeah man! Preach.
why do white christians get all the blame? Black Israelites run around & say the fucking holocaust didn’t happen.
What makes them soo racists I wanna here examples because a lot of times they are not racist at all they just disagree with leftists race theory
@@bailee7696 Right? This was a testimony without content.
@@bailee7696 Well some of the stats he read explain that. Much of racism stems from ignorance. For example ignoring what a statue of a confederate general really represents and what the civil war was about. The preservation of slavery. Now you may say "no, it was states rights to do what they wanted to do in the south without the north dictating their laws to them!". To which i would say the states rights to do what? To preserve slavery of course.
@@jerimayavondristen9955 just because they don’t want history removed to fit today’s cultural norms makes them racist. No it doesn’t I say let’s take down Martin Luther king because he was horrible to woman
The openness, the accountability, the reflection, the truth of this entire video is amazing and I’m so proud of these two
You're "proud" of them? Are you their parents?
@@roryhand6650 yes I am proud of them. I don’t think feeling proud of someone is only reserved for their parents. I think you can be proud of someone regardless of their relation to you.
@@roryhand6650 what would you have preferred me to say? Please tell me.
The center of Christianity is in Asia, Africa and South America… it’s not White Jesus was a Palestinian Jew. Very arrogant to think Christianity is White
@@roryhand6650 what a weird thing to say
Something I feel a lot of people don't think about is that you can have a relationship with God without having a relationship with a "church". The "church's" opinion or viewpoint might not align with God's and if you have a relationship with God, you can't let someone else's interpretation of what is holy and right get between you and God and your interpretation of the word. It only takes 2 or more for a gathering of worship anyways.
I feel like so many people get caught up in "denominations" and where they fit in and don't realize that not one other person has the answer. We're all just struggling to understand and figure things out too. Even if some claim to know and understand, that's still just their interpretation.
I don’t think that’s the case here though. They’re just giving up and becoming Reddit atheists.
@@alexandermckay9521 I have no clue how thats what you take away from this video
But why does god attract so many racists and pedos and terrorist?
I agree, but to take that even further, you can have a relationship with “God” without making Christianity, in any form, the basis of your perception of God. Buddhism, Gnosticism or any Eastern philosophy talks about God in a much more evolved manner, imo, as it doesn’t create a distinction between, me, or you, or god. It takes the Christian idea of God being everywhere at all times, and makes it much more palatable in that it would suggest God IS everything, including us. Everything is God. That, at least to me, makes more intuitive sense, especially when you get into the mystery of consciousness.
I will never stop loving and supporting this man he’s so aware I love him with all my life.
It can be hard to admit you held racist ideas, then apologize for it and make amends. But I hope this inspires people in the evangelical world to do the same.
If you read Philemon, you’ll see that’s not what Christ wants Christians to believe. You shouldn’t leave the church because of sinful people
i remember when I was 12, our suburban Atlanta Principal announced MLK's assassination over our school PA System. I will never forget a few kids, all church going families, I was Catholic, mainline Bible Belt Christian Churches, applauded the announcement. In church that Sunday we prayed for MLK, but I will never forget the kids who clapped. I read a poll a few days ago, in 2000 71% of US considered themselves religious to one degree or other, attending church at least once a year. In 2020, that number was down to 47%, the Southern Baptist Convention has lost over 1,000,000 of its 14,000,000 members and it is believed that number is NOT the true number.
Considering MLK was openly affiliated with communists and is now very likely an accessory to rape. That is a completely understandable reaction.

Words of wisdom, teaching people to hate certain types of people and lose faith in Christianity because of bad apples is wisdom. In what context, is it wisdom?
@@joshuamartinpryce8424 I’ve read though your other comments and they don’t seem to be as heated as this one. At no point did either of them mention anything about hate. Just because they lost faith in their Christianity does not mean that they have lost faith or are encouraging others to do so. In fact Link mentioned more than once that this is coming from personal experience after being heavily involved in their religious community for the majority of their lives. I say “words of wisdom” because what they’re saying is important. Of course not all churches are bad, but speaking as someone who went to a private Christian school and grew up in the south with a very religious family, I’ve seen first hand the damage that religious superiority can bring and that it’s very important to pay attention to yourself and who surrounds you. Rhett mentioning statistics is not teaching anyone to hate anyone else. I think that they are mentioned in hopes that it may encourage their audience to not make the same mistakes that they did when it comes to where they worship. I’ve had negative experiences with Christianity and I’ve also had overwhelming positive experiences with Christianity. I’ve also seen racism, sexism, and a lot of hate in Christianity. Remember that just because it’s not happening to you or that you don’t see it does not mean that it isn’t happening.
I say “Words of wisdom” because I think reading those statistics and asking yourself “Is this what God would really want?” Is very wise.
Since I was 8 years old I hated going to church. I’ve always told my mom “I don’t want to go and listen a man lie for 1 hour” My parents are religious but they never forced me to be religious. I’m lucky most religious parents do the exact same opposite.
You may hate to go there, but what do you think is a lie and why do you think it? When you se around you, do you think someone created everything or it came by itself, from nothing.. And when you read the gospels in the bible, why do it corraborate with archeology and what writers outside the bilble tell about Jesus.. Have a nice day! Sincely, Gunnar.
@@thefoss8772 Really? The watchmaker's analogy?
The irony of feeding into an institution that scares you into giving it paper with idols on the them while listening to a guy tell you how to interpret a very old book written by men we don't know. Oh and we can talk to god but we still need a physical thing like a book to do so and have to listen to a greedy man or woman (clearly never read 1 timothy) for instructions.
Good for you man 👍
@@Eshu666 dude what? Who is feeding into an institution, also the pastor is the man or woman who delivers a message for Christian’s and non believers to understand Christ and form a relationship with him, and I give money to the church to help them pay their electricity bill and such, also it is in scripture that you are supposed to tithe to the church, and you most certainly do not need a book to pray to the lord a prayer is something you can do anywhere at any time under any circumstance, you can pray on every possible situation in your life.
Gandhi said “I like your Jesus, it’s you Christians I have an issue with.” There have been many churches in the east and southern parts of the US that have shown racist, sexist, and hateful ideals as there branding almost. Of course not all churches are like this, but it is prominent enough that it is almost what we are known for. It makes me sad, because it can cause mass confusion of whether we preach love or hate.
This is heartbreaking, truly. I am a Christian and also a person of color. And I am heartbroken not just as a person of color but more so as a follower of Christ. If you read the gospels Jesus’ surrounded himself with many people; people that the 1st century church casted out: prostitutes, tax collectors, sinners. Christ came to die for everyone, all people. He doesn’t cast people out or away but lovingly welcomes them in to follow him and repent of their sins. Unfortunately, it’s the people in the church that are imperfect and aren’t perfect in love, despite acting/displaying as if they are. People need to look to Jesus, not the people in the church. I’ve noticed most people that leave the church say it’s because of the people and not because of Jesus. Granted, the people in the church have problems, we always have and always will because we’re imperfect people being (hopefully) changed by Christ daily. But thankfully Jesus is perfect and He is the one to look to.
Jesus never condemned slavery which was used to oppress your ancestors. He never spoke for himself once. He supposedly said he'd return during the first generation. That's a lie/sin. He whipped merchants while teaching non-violence. "If you're black and a christian, you have a short memory" - Chris Rock If Christ came to die for everyone (not a sacrifice given he became a god...again), it wouldn't have been a secluded event. If Jesus is god and god's perfect, original sin wouldn't have been possible.
@Ryknow @Ryknow Jesus never sinned. He was the only one on this earth who was perfect and will ever be the only one. No where in Scripture does it say Jesus “whipped merchants”. But if you have a reference I would like you to show me. “…Then they came up and laid hands on Jesus and seized him. And behold, one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his ear. Then Jesus said to him, “Put your sword back into its place. For all who take the sword will perish by the sword.” (Matthew 26:50-52) Jesus was never violent nor did he condone it (as you can see in this verse when he tells his disciple to put away his sword). Also when Jesus said he would return in the generation he didn’t say ‘first’ generation. He was talking about the generation that would experience the end times (the tribulation). In THAT specific generation would He return. Also there are verses in the Bible where it talks about “slavery” but not necessarily slavery as we know it today. “Bondservants (or slaves), obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling, with a sincere heart, as you would Christ, not by the way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, knowing that whatever good anyone does, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether he is a bondservant (slave) or is free. Masters, do the same to them, and stop your threatening, knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and that there is no partiality with him.” (Ephesians 6:5-6, 8-9 ) God is love. And He loves the world. Therefore He is not okay with slavery nor does He condone it. Jesus (God) never condoned slavery. This verse clearly explains this. It literally says that Masters must be loving towards their bondservants (or slaves). And in those times a bondservant was someone who would serve someone else out of debt for their crimes, rather than be thrown in prison. It’s easy to take the Bible out of context and turn it into what we want it to say. But go to the perfect Word of God and see for yourself. Let the Lord speak to you rather than reading the Bible for the wrong reasons. Yes there are a lot of questions people have and a lot they are confused about. There are also a lot of things in the Bible people misinterpret. But if you truly seek answers God will reveal them to you.
@@Eshu666 that’s just a oversimplification of like 5 arguments you made, you can disagree but there’s a firm difference between the church and her own spiritual beliefs
This whole video is leftist talking points devoid of reality

i'm a white Christian and I hold the opposing views of each thing mentioned in the first 90 seconds. so there are certainly many church folk out there who are simply christian nationalists but there are a few here and there who are authentic and see the issues of racism, nationalism etc that this country has caused and is still taking part in causing. unfortunately, we all get painted with a broad brush, but I have personally disassociated myself with the church, for some similar reasons but also some ones that are simply the fact that church is just too religious. there's just not enough authentic relationship. too many rules, systems etc
I haven’t watched y’all in a while, not for any particular reason but just because I haven’t. This is an excellent, excellent explanation. Rhetts spiel on why young people are leaving the church because they weren’t trained enough was beautiful in my eyes. So thank you for this Rhett and Link, I’ll be tuning in more often now.
Assumption here but had you considered Jesus?
It seems you became an atheist not because of racism but because you wanted to live your life and only became christian after fear of going to hell. Its the main reason why people come to Jesus in the first place. Its true that young people are not trained enough in Christianity.
Watch the pilgrims progress it’s a excellent portrayal of the walk with Christ
It’s ironic that your last name is Christian
God still loves you though mr Christian . But may I ask what exactly turned you away from God
i do not disagree with anything said. however, it is sad to see that what led Rhett away from christianity was the actions of the church. of PEOPLE in the church. if the racism in the church is what made rhett turn away from christianity, i would suggest that maybe he was never a true christian to begin with. when you are truly a christian, you have a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ Himself. who is ANYTHING but racist or hateful. and no person should be able to make you stray from Jesus. although it should be our goal, the church is not a good representation of Jesus at all.
the only people who use the Bible to back up slavery are the ones who have interpreted it wrong.
i’m so sorry for the experiences that Rhett has had and those in the comments have had. but those experiences are not an accurate representation of Jesus or of what true christianity looks like.
I do want everyone to know that this is true. But it's the churches fault. It is not Jesus' fault at all. God has said treat others how you want to be treated, Love each other as I have loved you, and many more. If I was going to a horrible church I would leave. But I wouldn't leave the religion. The second you hear that someone walked away from the faith, you immediately try and write it off as them not being strong enough in their faith and without even realizing it you immediately start shaming the person as not being “hungry for the lord.” You don’t know what that person went through to get to the point where they felt the best option for them was to walk away from the church. That is not an easy thing to do.
Both of my parents are pastors and have been from the day I was born and even still today. My dad is still the head pastor of a large and racially diverse church, and when I graduated high school I went to TWO Christian colleges. I read my Bible, I prayed to god daily, I listened to nothing but Christian music, and yet I still walked away from the faith despite the fact that I had a genuine hunger to develop a close relationship with god. It took me YEARS to finally say “enough is enough, I don’t buy any of this.” Now I am a devout atheist.
You cannot discredit my experience or the experience of the person you’re responding to. By saying “I pray you return” you are being incredibly condescending. It’s people like you that make it hard for people to talk about their experiences leaving the church and leaving faith behind because they fear the shame and ridicule they will go through by talking openly about their lives experiences. How dare you try and discredit someone’s life experiences on the internet, someone who you don’t even know, as not being “hungry” enough for the lord.
You give Christians a bad name
@@jonathanjaynes. too many people use god to justify their beliefs and you can still find shitty people at a good church. People don’t just “give up on god” when they walk away from the faith. This is a blanket statement on white evangelicals, and as someone who is a Mexican American, who has gone to many predominantly white churches, I can say this is not true.
Your anecdotal experience means nothing
Statistics aren't blanket statements, they're facts. As a former lamb for the blood cult of Christianity, I've been to many white churches and it is true. Your experiences don't debunk Rhett and Link's and they don't debunk actual stats. Also, many minorities are used to avoid backlash for lack of diversity. Just like with conservatives who parade minorities like trophies. Also, a Jewish carpenter was neither white nor Mexican.
I abandoned Christianity long ago for not so different but completely separate reasons from Rhett a long time ago, and I just wanted to commend him for his bravery in the statement he makes here. To come forward with something like this and announce yourself in front of the would on top of your platform is a very strong thing to do. Good for them.

What does this have to do with Jesus? What about black evangelicals? Not logical. Hey I ain't here to start a war in the comments section. But I disagree great with Rhett because all race and color and Bs a side I believe Christian is a person relationship with god and of you don't have that u are not willing to be in a church and yes some churches are racist but we all bleed the same we are all under one god
I agree just be sure to capitalize God buddy
Just say you’re racist and leave weirdo
That’s what Christianity is SUPPOSED to be, but too many Christians take this “personal relationship with god” too seriously and begin to dictate how others should live their lives according to the beliefs of the Christian faith.
Not to mention that the Christians that go to church are actively contributing to the statistics Rhett pointed out. You can justify your personal relationship with your god however you want, but when you continually have enough white evangelicals going to church and espousing nationalism and racist rhetoric to turn it into a legitimate statistic, then we have a very serious problem.
Good for you for having a personal relationship with god. But don’t say you “disagree” with them when you don’t even understand the point they are conveying
Also we are not all under one god, what about the gods of other religions?
We've felt the same and noticed in addition to racism we largely disagreed with strong authoritarian views especially with parenting and inflexible thought patterns. It's interesting to look into world history and examine socal castes, religion, and governments. I do feel that the body has often separated from it's true intentions. It doesn't change my personal beliefs. My God is perfect and will be with me wherever I am, humans not so much. I think a lot of people stay with a church that spiritual isn't fruitful or morally correct. God is bigger than the sanctuary.
Read 1 timothy 11-12. Also, how can a god be perfect yet punish those for doing that which "he" knew would happen and therefore willed to happen? Don't say free will because if god's will is perfect, it shouldn't step aside for our will.
I love being in a mixed race church 🥰 praying for the other churches that are causing ‘church hurt’ , they are not representing who Jesus is :( 💔
Greatest breakdown I've seen on the current state of the church, and religion overall tbh. I love the positive aspects, but in times of crisis (such as the biggest one we're living in right now), just "praying" is not enough, you actually have to help out your community. There is not enough of that.
@@bassmaster1231 all I see is churches fighting to not get taxed, megachurches making millions/billions of dollars. There should be zero profit involved in churches, but unfortunately, it has been commoditized. Regardless, the reason why people are leaving the church is that they realized "conservative values" aren't really working out for them -> not only spiritually, but also politically/financially.
The percentage of people going to church in the working class is decreasing rapidly. More and more, the church-going folk are just upper middle class or wealthy suburbanites. If you want to increase the number of poor people attending church, maybe they should consider helping out local workers' unions instead.
@@WhenItsHalfPastFive This "profit" may come from the giving of parishioners, that portion should not be taxed seeing how the source of money has already been taxed via income tax.
Now if any particular church owns a bonafide business, that should be taxed.
Not sure what conservative values you are specifically talking about seeing how they can vary largely. Conflating conversative political ideals with conservative Christian ideals, though common, is erroneous.
I'm not so worried about churches losing parishioners as I am people leaving the flock of Christ. That the people within the church of Christ are putting shame upon his name is a disgrace as is the actions of those who have racist tenancies within the church body.

You, the one reading this comment, don't blame God for the sins of man or allow people to define God like Rhett has, my guy. He wants it to change, and believe me when I tell you he does, in fact, exist, and it's not for him to decide how people live and how people believe, as he is the one who gave us free will and loves us so much that he will allow us to live our lives entirely without him IF we so choose. I have chosen to live my life with Jesus Christ first in everything, and it hurts me that so many people are coming to a misunderstanding of who God is and that people are nowadays putting a definition of who he is based on their actions in today's age, rather than opening up a bible and allowing God HIMSELF to tell you who he is and what he's about. You may ask me, "If God hates sin and is against evil so much, why doesn't he destroy it?" The answer to that question is because God doesn't destroy things, he creates things. It is not in God's nature to destroy things, he brings life, not death. So, he made Hell for evil to exist in, and sin is part of that. When you turn away from God, when you die on your judgement day, having lived your entire life without him because of whatever your reasons are, he loves you so much that he'll allow you to be separated from him, just as you wanted to be in life, and he'll allow you to be in Hell, upon your own accord. He doesn't put people in either Heaven or Hell, people decide that for themselves when they either choose to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior or not. Yes, if you want to be separated from God, you are in fact choosing Hell, because Hell is where God isn't, Heaven is where he is, and so the mindset of your goal shouldn't be about where you go after life, but rather if you want God or not. You are not a racist if you are a Christian, but you are a racist if you are a racist. Jesus loves everyone, white, black, yellow, green, purple, orange, blue, whatever your skin color is, it doesn't matter to him. Just as it doesn't matter to him, it don't matter to me either. God made everyone and knew everyone before they were born, he wants you back and wants you to be with him in Heaven, my guy. Much love to you and everyone else in this comments section, but I just needed to fix some people's understanding of who God is, because I've seen some people say some whacky stuff, or some people have said he doesn't exist at all. Just keep it in mind, folks, Jesus Christ is ALIVE and wants and loves YOU. The Church isn't about other people, it's about YOUR personal relationship with God Almighty and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, AMEN. If you ask me why I'm right and everyone else who disagrees with me is wrong, it's because I opened up my bible and allowed God to talk to me, let him talk to you my friends😉🥰🙏🏻
One of the problems with Christianity is that most sermons are either solely about the New Testament or are Joel Osteen style sermons that have very little to do with either the New or Old Testament. Most of Joel Osteen type sermons resemble improved Tony Robbins motivational type lectures on how to be successful in life or resemble get rich quick schemes.
Deuteronomy 4:2 basically says not to substitute Joel Osteen type material for the Old Testament as Joel Osteen type sermons support Christianity’s adulterous & idolatrous worship of idols, money & financial success.
The reason the Old Testament or Tanakh is so important is that the Old Testament is more or less a history book of the human race. And if you don’t learn from history, you are doomed to repeat the same mistakes you have made in the past. The main problem with the New Testament is that in terms of a history book, it only goes back to the time of JC. The New Testament just doesn’t cover a very long time period. The Old Testament goes back to creation of the universe and covers a much larger time frame.
The big question is about whether or not Christians should be worried in the least.
The answer is found in Isaiah 27:1 with the Leviathan representing Christianity. G - - always lives up to His promises. Of course, you would only know this fact if you have read the Old Testament. Another thing to consider if you are well read in the Tanakh is that the Levites lived on tithes in exchange for teaching G - -‘s word to the populace. Not long after the prophet Joshua died, the Levi group of priests much like Joel Osteen began teaching the populace more about what they felt the populace wanted to hear with the motivation largely being to get the biggest donations. Once Jews re-instituted idol worship & turned away from worshipping G - -, G - - had approximately 95% of the Jewish population massacred first by the Assyrian army and then by the Babylonian army. Only a small remnant of Jews survived. G - -‘s punishment for the Jews was considerably worse than what happened to Jews in World War II in terms of percentage of the population massacred. And G - - considered Jews His children. So if you think Christians will somehow escape G - -‘s wrath from idolatrous Joel Osteen type preaching, then think again as G - - doesn’t have the same type of relationship with Christians due to Christian worship of JC as their savior. Isaiah 27:1 will eventually prevail, and G - - will very likely not spare even a single Christian artery or vein. In fact Obadiah 18 basically states that there will be no survivors from the house of Esau.
Are there any other unforeseen problems created by Joel Osteen type preaching whereby very little Tanakh based scripture is taught during sermons? Yes. First Christians suffer immensely financially & socially from this type of Tanakh-free preaching. Just look at how many radio talk shows have popped up in major cities across the USA with the theme of “catching cheaters” in regards to adultery. Cheater themed talk shows are incredibly popular and are now major advertising revenue creators for radio talk shows as radio listeners love to hear about other peoples’ misery. Adultery, and divorce caused by adultery is absolutely rampant throughout America. The social costs are in the multiple billions in terms of children who now live with one parent or who now have to move back and forth between parents during the holidays. Poor quality, low Tanakh content Joel Osteen type Christian preaching also invariably leads to rampant antisemitism when divorced broken family angry Christians look at their happily married Jewish neighbors who tend to not only be happy in life but who tend to have multiple happy and well adjusted children. And all this Christian divorce, misery & unhappiness could be so easily avoided if only Christians would realize that the only person cashing in on Tanakh-free sermons is possibly Joel Osteen and his family. Tanakh-free sermons create a situation much like the mega state lottery where there is only one 400 million dollar winner and everyone besides the winner loses the $3 they paid for the tickets. With Tanakh-free sermons, Joel Osteen is the main lottery winner.
Additionally, the Christian version of the Old Testament in the Christian Bible has been so severely altered to support Christianity’s love for idolatry and adultery, that the Christian version of the Old Testament is no longer even remotely usable. Go to Sefaria.org or Chabad.org to get an unaltered free online version. If you don’t believe adultery is a problem in the USA just contemplate the proliferation of morning radio show programs about catching cheaters.
Additionally, what does the Tanakh or history of the human race say about false prophets/ preachers who lead their sheep-like followers astray for massive financial gain? Well, it never, ever ends well. For example, mega-preacher Gwen Shamblin Lara who instead of teaching Tanakh based scripture, tried to get Christians to lose weight through nutrition. Gwen Shamblin Lara perished at a very young age in a plane crash along with her husband and 5 other church leaders. And the list of Christian-type total disasters goes on. The reason Gwen Lara Shamblin perished is that historically one of G - -‘s main weapons of destruction for His enemies is disease / pestilence. Obesity is a disease, and if G - - had allowed Gwen Lara Shamblin to continue living, she would have been in direct conflict with G - - in preventing Isaiah 27:1 from coming to fruition. Read last 3 paragraphs below to learn about G - -‘s other preferred weapons He sometimes uses on His enemies.
I know many people feel “saved” by JC, but there is a big difference between “feeling saved” and actually being “saved.” For example, you might feel totally saved & safe jumping off a plane 30,000 miles up because you “feel” you have the best parachute money can buy. However, if you forget to read and apply Tanakh to your life and cheat on your spouse, you won’t actually be safe if the parachute cord was cut by your spouse after discovering the affair. But, then it is too late once you’re headed downward at 110 miles per hour. You see, you don’t want to end up fulfilling Isaiah 27:1 with your own life.
If you’re interested in current events about the talk about the Gog Magog war starting, read Ezekiel 38:18-23. Isaiah 27:1 basically continues with Ezekiel 38:18-23 if you want to learn what happens when G-‘s anger flares up over army invasion of Israel’s soil. G - -‘s weapons of choice will be pestilence, bloodshed, torrential rain, hailstones & sulfurous fire, so that the world will know that G - - is both Lord and savior.
Judging from past holy wars, bloodshed is typically referring to as some type of psychological warfare on enemy army where enemy soldiers standing next to each other begin fighting each other in confusion.
You see that if you are well read in Tanakh, you see the world through a very different lens, and you immediately see and understand that the current war Russia is unleashing on the world is nothing more than G - -‘s very creative way of using a number of countries to fulfill Isaiah 27:1 as G - - once unleashed the Babylonians & Assyrians on Israel as a very creative form of punishment for the Jews. Ukrainian Jews were less than 1/2 of 1% of the Ukrainian population, and post World War II Jews are incredibly well versed at exiting war torn countries well before situations worsen. The main concept from the scriptures that directly relates to current events is the concept of “bloodguilt“ and the book of Samuel I. Vladimir Putin will very likely end up exactly like King Saul due to excessive bloodguilt - premature death - but not before first being used by G - - to bring Isaiah 27:1 to fruition.

Blacks from the south of the United States have a difficult time removing themselves from the lower class because they adopted southern culture which itself was predicated on the resolution of conflict via violence, the rejection of education and a rebellious attitude towards institutions.
This culture originated in the south of England as shown in the adoption of a similar jargon now used primarily in ghettos and throughout southern communities.
The adoption of said culture encouraged in southern blacks a sentiment severance, in spite of the fact that blacks from the West Indies and from New England faired extremely well on the educational front after the abolition of slavery.
They unfortunately adopted an undereducated culture that probably originated in the hardships of living in the south and to this day we are led to believe through insane ideologies such as CRT and BLM that we are living in a nation corrupted by racism while there isn’t a place on this earth free of the grasp of racist ideology.
Racists are idiots and expunging the world of idiocy is idiotic in and of itself.

Obviously I'm a little late, but I consider myself to be a Christian. People that call themselves "Christians" (I'm mainly Talking about the Christian faith) and have a belief that other people who are of different races or even economic backgrounds are somehow lower than them, are not reading or understanding the bible. I know that in many churches, racism and segregation are abundant. Thankfully, the one I went to wasn't, and we were taught that the person wearing a $1000 suit and the person wearing hand-me-downs are both loved by God the exact same. We also were taught that Jesus was NOT a white man, like me, nor was he a black man. He was Jewish/Hebrew. He had a dark skin tone. He doesn't belong to just the white man or the black man or the Asian man or the middle eastern man, he belongs to EVERYONE of ALL races. In fact, a black man helped Jesus carry the cross when Jesus fell from carrying it to calvary. I will never put someone down or ignore them because of their race or their income, but solely based on their character. It is a sad fact that many Christians consider themselves better than someone, yet we are all sinners. We all (including white people) have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. But while we were yet sinners, Jesus died on the cross so that we ALL (every race) may cast our sins upon the Lord and be forgiven. I pray that this reaches someone, before they think about leaving the faith. Don't listen solely to the church, but read the Bible for yourself, and compare it to other churches and try to find out if what they are preaching, is the same thing they are practicing.
So did he lose faith? What does "leaving" a protestant church mean? Ending association with a church or religious institute does not mean he lost faith in god. I am atheist.

A good person isnt good in Gods eyes, remember that one dirty thought is bad, or when we lash out after being angry, or watching a persons booty because it looks nice, is sin. It is valid that you balk at the thought of an unjust and tyrannical God. I would like to add, however, that "belief in God" isn't necessarily how Christians think you go to heaven. The Bible points out that even the demons believe in God (and fear him!), see James 2:19.
We are saved by uniting ourselves to God in perfect love, and perfect love is only possible with Jesus' help. Someone who rejects the intellectual idea of a tyrannical God, yet seeks the truth earnestly and loves those around them to the best of their ability, is not far from the kingdom of God.

I watched your deconstruction videos some time ago and only recently came across this video. I wanted to add to the conversation and share my perspective having also grown up in the southern church and continuing to follow God to this day in spite of how awful the church can be.
You must remember this: God is not defined by the actions of the church. Even if there’s not a single person who believes that doesn’t change who God is because he is not dependent on us. We are dependent on him. He loves us and wants to know us but he is unchanged by our blunders. So if you’re leaving the church and God because of people you might want to consider the possibility that maybe you put your faith in the church and not God.
I am truly sorry that you both have suffered so much at the hands of the church. I too have seen racism first hand in the church and it’s appalling. I personally don’t see how you can love God and still hate people based on their color. It’s just insane to me and it’s unbiblical and I believe it grieves God himself. But as terrible as this is, I have to remind myself that I have faith in God, not in man. People will fail me. Even I will fail. But God will never fail us.
Another thing that bothers me is that people who work in food hate working Sundays because the Church crowd are some of the rudest customers. That just makes my heart sick. And it should not be this way!
All of this for me personally is just another sign that there is a God. There has to be! Otherwise we are all doomed. There’s no way any one of us could do enough good to undo the wrong we’ve done. And this world is so broken and screams of something more! I can only conclude that there is a God out there. And if there is a God our only hope is that he will love us enough to forgive us and fix this mess for us! If not there’s no hope at all. I believe there is a God and he does love us enough to fix this for us through Christ’s death and resurrection paying off our debt. So that all who believe in him will be saved. Not because we did anything but because God did everything. This is the only hope that keeps me sane as I watch events unfold in our world. That Gods gonna fix this someday and humanity will be restored for those who believe and follow him. No matter what we’ve done he can and is willing to fix it. Thank God…
I sincerely wish you both the best and I pray this encourages you to give God a second chance.

I do believe it’s more complex then this. I do agree, the racism and sexism in the church is insane. Though not every church is like this. My church in NYC spoke very much against these ideologies, the church had all creeds and colors and it really was a safe place to be for me. Now I do understand New York is a liberal State overall. I’m not from the south, so I believe the culture can be toxic, I just hope everyone knows that not every church is like this, a church as a whole also doesn’t make up the whole congregation of its people. 20% may be racist and the other 80% may not be whatsoever. It just depends on culture and the church’s foundation that it’s set on.
My church spoke up against slavery, racism, and many other things. So I suppose everyone’s experiences are difference and I don’t think Rhett is saying every single church in the states is like this, instead saying know the history of America the history of the American church system and the racism and sexism that came along with it, but then again, it wasn’t just the church, it was America as a whole.
1:45 I have a pet theory about American racism and the corrolation to how it is taught in schools and preschools, we are constantly told of our differnces that It can be hard to develop freindships with black people as a white person because you become to afraid to step on their toes with jokes or become comfortable around eachother, so until public schools stop speading so much time teaching us we are different and spending so much time on the holocaust/hitle/ and the civil war people will keep learning we are different and thus act the same.
I hate the way school/politics intercept. But this is America.
“Many are called, but few are chosen” “The path to salvation is narrow and few are on it” Rhett focuses to much on other people rather than focusing on what Christ would do in certain situations. The Bible clearly says “love your neighbor as yourself” go off the teaching of the Bible not a statistic.

The reality is that the church in america has lost its vision and I would go so far as to say that Christ would not recognize evangelical Chritianity as a faith based in his teachings based on how it (the evangelical church) acts.
@@myhandlewastakenandIgaveup have to agree very few actually live it and that’s what the Bible says.
Statistics are important dude. When you have enough Christians espousing nationalism and racism and then justifying it with their “personal relationship with god”, then it needs to be called out and studied. It’s become a pattern and we as humans have a responsibility to call out dangerous patterns. Way to miss the entire point of what Rhett and link are talking about here. Also the Bible is just 1 book. Go live by a better book
@@xackbellegaming3491 😂I don’t think anybody justifies nationalism or racism with their “personal relationship with god” that’s just wouldn’t make sense. And when we talk about dangerous patterns we can talk about any patterns that happen throughout history dealing with other religions like Islam to the atheist regime of Hitler and China as we see it today. I used to have serious doubts about Christianity myself based on the people, but like I said I do not care about what stats say if the Bible is correct about “many called few chosen” (this proves the stats correct). I just prayed that if Jesus is in fact real that he showed up in my life, and he has. This is something anybody can do. If you doubt what Christ can do pray, ask him to reveal himself to you and in one way or another he will. Test it out for yourself. ❤️ u brother
As a believer and someone who does things by gods word not my feelings a follower of Jesus just wants to love on people period. That’s what we are called to do love our neighbors as ourselves and no matter what others do around us or in the church and many people who claim Christianity won’t go to heaven. The gate is narrow and many will claim they had a relationship with Christ but won’t know his voice. Love Rhett and Link just want people to see there are others who don’t think that way and respect us as well and not beat us down. I don’t want to cause harm or hurt others. If we believe things differently thats okay. I would still love to laugh and enjoy life with those who aren’t believers and have a happy life.
I agree. As a lifelong believer, I feel like I have to defend myself. I won't go on the defensive any longer. The truth is the truth. I won't apologize for knowing it. I WILL stand up for the truth though. Always. Jesus stood firm for me. I surely will not let Him down.
can anyone tell me what happened that “pulled the curtain back” in 2020??

I would be interested in reading these studies and seeing if there were similar studies for other christian denominations. I would do the research, but I just don't have the time to do the digging ha. If anyone has looked into this before and could share some links, I would be interested in learning!
I’m sure the research is easy to find by doing online research. I’m a follower of Jesus and stopped calling myself a christian because of the negative connotation that word has as it now means: political conservative and Republican, discriminating against others, mean-spirited, and hateful. Christians have caused a backlash against them for which they are responsible and accountable.

I don’t know what kind of church you went to but my church is very open and we don’t see race at all.
You need to look at Christ. Christ was very ahead of time and fought hatred with love. The biggest fight against hate and evil was on the cross. He healed gentiles and Jews and he saved all those to whom he had called. Not one race. All races. Christ died for all those who accept Him. Most churches are corrupt and have very skewed values that are non biblical.
If you’re sorry for being a part of a church, you didn’t go to a gospel preaching church.
There going to be a percentage of false believers and false prophets and false “followers” who hold vile values and beliefs.
These beliefs are not what Christ taught. These are worldly beliefs and values that are taught by man. Our wisdom as Christians comes from God not man.
I’ve heard this same reason of why people left church and that’s all it is ... just a reason and excuse to find a way back into a comfortable worldly life.
This is the best comment thank you buddy 🙏
Funny how many hide behind a few stolen Buddhist teachings some unknown men associated with a character that brought eternal suffering and world wide condemnation into the mix. The bible doesn't even agree on the crucifixion being a sacrifice. Jesus asked god/himself "why have your forsaken me?". If Christ died for all, the act would have been seen world wide, not in some small town. Also, sacrificing yourself to yourself to absolve mankind of the predestined curse, is insanely bad writing. Crazy how many bought into it though uneducated indigenous people didn't have much of a choice.
I've gone to dozens of churches throughout my life. Different denominations and even different states, and I've never experienced "Evangelical Racism". Just because there is a study on it, doesn't mean its a widespread issue. There is racism literally everywhere, not just the church, and I think its unreasonable for you to assume that its the "white christians" fault. And as far as racial injustice, explain this to me. Black kills black - no social response, white kills white - no social response, black kills white and vice versa - no social response, black cop kills black cop - no social response, black cop kills white - no social response, white cop kills white - no social response, white cop kills black, media outrage and cross country protests. Is no one seeing this? How is no one realizing that the media is creating the racism? Its also ironic that statistically, America isn't even in the top 5 or maybe even 10 and yet I very, VERY rarely see a black person advocating against racism, as it always seems to be the whites over compensating.
Based on the statistics I would say I agree with that assessment. HOWEVER, Ones church may not be tied to such statistics. Also, I do believe it’s about a personal relationship to God, however, I left the church for another reason.
I left due to the blunt hypocrisy that was demonstrated during my time there.
The culture, how one can not question anything and if you do they force things to make sense even if they do not. I can go on for days, perhaps one day I will have a personal relationship but right now I’m on my journey.

I agree with everything except for it's harder for black people to get ahead and I'm atheist I'm not agnostic I'm not on the fence like Rhett and Link I believe there is no God it's not a race issue it's a class issue it's harder for poor people to get ahead not just black people. Very true. I am lucky to go to a church where there are little to no people like this and I have not seen any corruption. I hope others find a good church for them or plant a new one in their communities.
Because a lot of churches and a lot of Christian are like this
I have heard some of the most negative profound things in these days. Like what Rhett said. I do not see being a christian around racist Christians is a good reason to leave the faith. People make all sorts of excuses to leave nowadays. Racial injustice in Christianity is not true, i know that personally because i have worked with and worked for many white Christians. I havent met a hateful white christian well not because they were taught as a christian to abuse me, but because they didnt like me as a person. I judge on the content of character instead of skin, i believe we shouldnt be pro black or pro white, but be fair and loving to everyone, and go like Martin Luther Kings, I HAVE A DREAM speech. Gods racial views in a negative light are just not there, God isnt racist, He created everyone and loves everyone, and what happened to Moses sister Miriam, because she was racist towards Moses black wife, by God is one of many examples that God doesnt teach or reinforce racism.
Nowhere in bible does God teach racism or make particular black people slaves. If someone is racist it isnt because of God or the bible, its because of personal insight, and negative experiences from racists.
God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit love everybody equally, and Rhett lost sight of that, there is an underlying issue as to why Rhett left and it wasnt racism. That is just Rhetts excuse.
I actually don’t blame him for losing faith at all. It’s incredibly hard to worship god being in such environments like many of these churches are. It took me years to find god again and I get him for losing it cause so did I due to how the church viewed things. That does affect you mainly when you’re young and still trying to find your self and your relationship to god. And racial injustice in Christianity is absolutely real I witnessed it many times in many churches. Your experience does not descredit that of many. It might not be straight up saying racist things but it’s small things that built up over time and they don’t even realize it’s racist .
Where are you getting these faulty statements?
My guy he literally states his sources
The church lol
Just because it makes you uncomfortable doesn’t make it isn’t true
If people want to make us seem racist then why not act like it. Show them true racism so they realize that we aren’t being racisy
@@afk_killer4089 Rhett may be using the definition of racism/racist in the systemic usage, not personal.
These stats are very upsetting, but I do truly believe that this is a problem with people not with religion
@@catmeres3719 these are also old testament verses and rules that were part of the old covenant. When Jesus came to earth he brought with him new teachings and rules to follow.
Its okay to be wrong my friend. No religion is separate from its people. If the people are racist for long enough the religion already was racist or will be polluted with it. White Christians have pretty much been racist since Rome left its faith and jumped on board. Bringing with it its fascist imperialism. . . And Roman's killed Jesus around that time so y'all have always been mixing the Jesus juice with racist sexist nonsense. If you really believe the Jesus is love crap well damn your not meant to fall for your own propaganda silly.
@@stanthebassist719 lol. The new testament is more racist. Read it with a black atheist to help clear the fog of years of indoctrination.
These guys have fully embraced California haven't they? Ridiculous takes.
I don't agree with their assessment of people in the church. I've been a part of a "black" charismatic church as well as a predominantly white church. My race was never an issue and the commonality between us was that we were all believers in Christ. They welcomed me and my wife from day one. They prayed for me in my lowest points of life and even though I am no longer a christian, their love hasn't changed.
I don't disagree with every opinion Rhett, and I can empathize with some of the experiences he shared. But, I also feel like Rhett and Link need to be more responsible and thorough when they address these topics. Generalizations are a bad idea, especially when rooted on personal experience. Correlation does not equal causation. We have also reached a point where, if we want to be thorough, we must now deeply vet the data that we use, as even these sources that should be objective, seldom are anymore. When it comes to the topic of race and racial justice, this is even more so the case. I read "letter to a white man" and there were countless problems (in my opinion).
I would recommend checking out Coleman Hughes, Shelby Steele, Glenn Loury, and Brett Weinstein when exploring the topics of race. They breach this topic thoughtfully and thoroughly.
That is true. One person receives racism on time and then takes it out on the whole race or community because of that one person. Its a sin.
Treat all people with kindness and love. Talk and build relationships with all. Reading stats is not truly learning about any person or culture. It’s pointing fingers and making enemies of people who you disagree with. Don’t apologize or feel sorry for loving everyone.
You completely missed the entire point of this video. Watch again and listen, set your opinion to the side and listen. Don't just hear. L-i-s-t-e-n. They literally connected documented statistics to their own personal experiences and saw the correlation, to the point where they are ashamed of them.
@@r0ckbass again I don’t think looking at statistics about race or people and correlating it with personal experience is learning about others nor building bridges. May actually be a form of stereotyping.
If I saw a video of someone saying “African Americans are incarcerated at more than 5 times the rate of whites” then saying yeah I knew a black guy once he was bad. We can agree that’s not a full relationship, understanding, nor helpful. By claiming you are undeniably correct because you looked at some statistics in one study and claiming to have firsthand understanding of others experiences leads to division.
Whether you agree with Rhett or not, what action steps is he suggesting? Not just for Christians, but for us? How do we interact with them? Or are we not supposed to and apologize when we do?
What do you think Link was apologizing for?
I just left Christianity because it didn't make any sense. But saying that there is a structure built against black people in America doesn't make any sense either. Are there repercussions because of the structures that once existed and is it harder for a black person to live in America? Hell yes. And yes of course racists exist, but it isn't an issue of structure or even society (at least at this point in history), it's something much deeper, our own human nature and I don't think that is going to change just because we "recognize" racism. When you ask someone what can practically be done about the issue no one can or will give you a solid answer.
God loves you buddy
We Christians can always do a better job in every aspect. Adam 4d (Ford) says it well- you can know bed math teachers, but 2+2 still equals 4.
And if you believe the church you go to is wrong and you don’t support than of course leave if God is calling you to do so, but there are still other churches you can find without those issues, and you could even become a church with your friend group, the scriptures say “where 2 or more gather I will be there too”. 2 or more people joining in worship and fellowship is a church by itself, you don’t have to leave the whole thing behind
