John Henry Newman (1801-1890) observed that “to be deep in history is to cease to be Protestant”, and so, he left Anglicanism and embraced Roman Catholicism… Yet, it must be emphasized that to be even deeper in history is to cease to be Roman Catholic. The Church began in the Holy Land of the Bible, in the East. All are invited to embrace Orthodox Christianity, which as Saint Athanasius of Alexandria (373) observed, is “what Christ taught, the Apostles preached, and the Holy Fathers kept”, with great care and devotion, even to this very day. Investigate, study, visit an Orthodox Church or Monastery, talk with a priest, deacon, or monk, and then begin to embrace the Orthodox Christian Faith with all your heart, mind, strength, and soul… Your only regret may be that you waited so long to do so…

The Lord himself gave us very few hints how to know where His church is: He promised to never leave His church (therefore it must be a historical one). And: by their fruits you shall know them (matthew 7:20). After comparing over a year the life of "saints" from different denominations the most Christ-like and spiritual saints I found within the Orthodox church. Just to look at the contemporary saints one will easily recognize that the Orthodox Church is still very very active and fruitful in producing great saints, holy ascetics and theologians. If someone really wants to become holy and struggle with his whole being for that, he will choose the best way to holiness. Its so obvious. Also one of the reason why the former famous Roman catholic theologian and hermit Gabriel Bunge converted to Orthodox Church. He said the most spiritual person he met in Orthodox Church was dimensions (!) above the most spiritual person he ever met within the Roman Catholic church.

PostModernism with its polyvalence is an anathema for Christians. The Pope through his speeches and praxis ( remember Pachamama rituals in churches of Rome ) has embraced postmodernism whilst pushing the New Testament aside. If we live the words of the Holy Bible, through God’s Grace, we have a duty to share those Holy words in our evangelism instead of speaking off the cuff with postmodern “please all” pluralism. May our Lord protect the God- fearing Roman Catholic flock from such shepherds and have mercy on us all.

And, won’t Pope Francis’ controversies just become accepted overtime just as every Roman Catholic heresy, many arguably historically worse, as their is no earthy authority over him that can challenge, rebuke or remove him from the Throne of St. Peter or his Position as Vicar of Christ?

St. Paul said all know God so no one have any excuse. If all know God, all must arrive at the thought of God in his mind. So, everyone is already in the path to seek God because that is innate ability. If the Gospel is not preached to the end of the world, we just keep it to ourselves. The Church see each individual's capacity for God since God is the author of life. Each human person should have a chance to hear the Gospel. Despite those who prevent the Gospel to be preached but we all need to bring it to others in some way, if not by teaching so be it by praying and doing works of mercy.

Why Constantine doesn't want to address the old calendarist question?
Wouldn't the new calendars be in Schism because they're the ones that deviated and the true orthodox just remained and didn't change. They didn't create their own church but just remained and called themselves as true orthodox because they're the original version? Why wasn't a council called by all the orthodox that didn't want to change?

    Dialogue with Brian Holdsworth
    Brian:
"Dogma is merely teaching from a competent authority. We all accept dogmas in some way in our lives because 99% of what we know has been relayed to us and accepted without first hand verification. To expect everything to be confirmed through experimentation, observation, or high standards of proof would require you to know very very little. That's not courage. That's just a refusal to trust - which is motivated by fear. That's what is cowardly. It takes courage to trust others who are put in a position of authority over you - which is a necessary thing. Parents, teachers, officials, are all necessary and our participation in recognizing their necessary authority is also necessary. Refusing to do so doesn't lead to an increase of freedom. It leads to chaos and disorder. I'm just being consistent in recognizing that necessity and the reconciling myself to finding the kind of authority I can trust. It starts with God and what he has revealed and then it leads to those he has entrusted in seats of authority to protect and transmit what has been revealed. With that, I arrive at dogma and I'm happy to submit to it because that is where true freedom lies - not in the blindness of my own narrow and limited vision of the world - but one expanded by centuries of thinkers all contributing to a shared vision."
    Dear Brian,
Being a follower is fine, but being a blind follower? Not so much. Any dogma automatically turns you into a blind follower. You stop questioning, stop inquiring. We are scientists. Imagine if science was rooted in dogma! We’d still be living in caves, trying to figure out how to make fire. Scientists go out of their way to prove their theories wrong. That’s the attitude of humility. That’s a deeply religious attitude. True science is a profoundly religious enterprise.
Don’t seek wisdom in words that are carved in stone. Seek wisdom that’s beyond words. The words of Pope Francis are that kind of wisdom. Your phenomenal intellect can never grasp this, but your warm heart can, and will. We are not Catholics. We are not followers of any dogma-religious or secular. We don’t lean on anything. We stand on our own feet. But it feels good to have Pope Francis, who just pulled the rug from underneath Catholic dogma, on our side.
Find the courage to give up the idea that you already have wisdom, that you already possess wisdom-because that’s what dogma is-and seek wisdom in questioning everything, just as Pope Francis does. There is no way to get closer to God than that. In the end, that’s what true religion is-it’s your inquiring open mind. Without it, all scriptures are dead, and all beliefs are just poison. As you know, Jesus questioned everything and relentlessly challenged dogma, perhaps more than anyone else in history! He leveled the dogma of the Old Testament! Ultimately, he was crucified for confronting and demolishing dogma.
That’s what true Christianity is: not to sell your soul, creating an agreement reality that can no longer be questioned, no matter how much pain and suffering it causes to millions of people. It’s not sacrificing your conscience and the human dignity of a free thinker, creating this most disgusting invention of the human mind-dogma, the blind conviction that’s at the roots of all human misery and all wars. The sense of purpose and belonging must be derived only from the truth and the truth alone. Or to put it better: from the absence of falsehood, the absence of lies. We grew up in communist Russia and theocratic Iran, in societies devastated by dogma. But there is no difference between communist dogma, religious dogma, or atheistic dogma. All of them are just different forms of idol worshiping. The problem with dogma is not its content, but its existence.
“Sabbath for men, not men for Sabbath.” That’s the essential message of Jesus. This now is the message of the brave and unyielding Pope Francis. The message is: Beliefs are what you die for. Faith is what you live for. We pray that he won’t be crucified for it like Jesus was.

Thanks for the video and discussions ! Just a detail : the quote by Ignatius of Loyola is not really accurate. I checked in my edition of the 'Spiritual Exercises', and the passage goes like this (I translate from French the "definitive text" of 1548) : “Finally, in order to be in perfect accord and conformity with the catholic Church, if it should define that is black what seems to our own eyes to be white, we must declare in the same way that it is black. For we must believe without any hesitation that the Spirit of our Lord Jesus-Christ and [the Spirit] of the orthodox Church - His Bride - is identical, [this Spirit] by whom we are directed and guided unto salvation ; and that it is the same God who erstwhile taught the precepts of the Decalogue and who teaches and guides nowadays the hierarchical Church.” As an Orthodox Christian, I do not see much problems with this, given that here the divine authority is said to come from "the catholic Church" as a whole, also called here "orthodox Church" and "hierarchical Church" (= the bishopric of the Church), not solely or exclusively from "the superior authorities in Rome"... I'm not a fan of the Jesuits, but let's not falsify anything only to make a point.

Not all Catholics are Roman Catholics. There are Eastern Catholics that have their own Patriarch such as Maronites, in modern day Lebanon and Syria, the followers of St. Maron from the 400s from Antioch. Chardean Catholics from Iraq, Syriac Catholic etc. They all have their own Patriarch.

The term ex cathedra is a Latin phrase meaning “from the chair.” In Catholic theology, it refers to the Pope’s authority to make infallible statements on matters of faith and morals when he speaks in his official capacity as the universal shepherd of the Church. This concept is rooted in the belief that the Pope, when speaking ex cathedra, is guided by the Holy Spirit and thus preserved from error.
    Ex-cathedra is rarely used.
The doctrine of papal infallibility, which includes ex cathedra statements, was formally defined during the First Vatican Council in 1870. An example of an ex-cathedra statement is the declaration of the Assumption of Mary by Pope Pius XII in 1950.

God creates every one and every thing irrespective of color, race, sex etc... All religions are leading to God, the truth which can't be combrehened to human mind. God the Father can be referer to it. The attributes of God in all religion are the same in general. If we deny this truth we deny that there are either two Gods or non christians are the creation of devil.
Christianity differes from them with Jesus Christ who incarnated in human form and brought forth salvation from sin and death by His crusifiction, death, burial and resurrection.

You can't twist something so straightforward, and turn it into positive for Christianity, when you just told muslims, Rabbinic jews they don't need christ just believe one god..... and this ain't nothing new it's in the catechism aswell.
The pope just told the world, you don't need christ you are fine where you are....
Stop making excuses for a bold face lie..........
The whole world needs christ he died for everyone.......

Why don't you people know scriptures to understand the words of God when spoken? The Pope said, all religions are a arrival to God (You need to stop changing peoples words around on what was said) which is Hebrews 11:6 you first must believe there is a God (So yes he speaks truth here) and then said, if we are all under one God you saying your God is better, or me sayings my God is better than all you do is start wars. I the Angel of God, Michael agree with this statement 100% . You people are like a pack of wolf's seeking whom you can devour. Stoned hearts filled with hatred against the children of God. You know you are in the right house when you are attacked like this. God bless

The scriptures do not teach what you say they do.
And we are not all under one God in the sense that all the religions are paths to God, as he said, for the scriptures say that the God of the religions are the demons. They don’t worship the one true God. They don’t worship Holy Trinity. Islam is not adoring and worshiping the Holy Trinity. How can you defend this? This is delusional.

I went on a path that was very circumspect in search of God. I touched on Hinduism, Buddhism, Shintoism, spiritualism, and finally I landed on Jesus. This is where I feel the most safe.
Stay with me. Let’s hope UA-cam won’t delete this comment too, which is a repeat of what I’ve already written.
A Muslim pediatrician recently died at a very old age. When he was 38 years old, he heard of a six-year-old who had committed suicide. The child was a diabetic. His mother could not buy his insulin, and as she told the child, if she did, the others would starve. Realizing he was a burden to his family, he took the path he did. The pediatrician, learning of this, swore to devote his career to serving the poor. In his life, he charged a very nominal fee for his patients. If a family could not afford the fee, he refused to accept anything from them. He often bought medication‘s for them.
I refuse to believe anything other than that this man is now residing in heaven with the good Lord, who recognizes that his life on earth imitated the of life of Jesus.
I am with you! God wants us to pursue him, and when we do, he encourages it.

All worshipping One God "Jesus," the Pope recalled, "taught us to welcome one another as brothers," adding that "this applies first and foremost to us, Christians, Jews, and Muslims, who worship the One God and who refer, albeit in different ways, to Abraham as father in faith." Pope Francis recognizes that religion has been and will continue to be a strong contributing element in deadly conflict. Pope Francis renewed his call for peace and brought attention to the persecution that Christians are facing around the world. Other heinous but “hidden” forms of persecution target Christian women: thousands are victims of rape to shame their families and communities, or of forced marriages aimed at forced conversion. Pope Francis's message in Singapore is extremely clear: young people can make a genuine difference in the world by being changemakers and influencing results!

Jesus did not say to welcome each other as brothers, where is that in scripture? He taught us to love our neighbor and our enemies. There's a big difference. Also, we don't all believe in the same God. If one religion says "God is like X" and another says "God is like Y", and the X and Y contradict, it is not the same God. So, no, Christians, Jews and Muslims do not believe in the same God.

The Holy Spirit may inspire you and your heart individually. That’s a certainty and is precisely why we have the Saints. So the real question is how will you know or more important, perhaps, when will you know? Is what your heart telling you, Truth, delusion or put there by the enemy. If there is a God and he has revealed himself to us why rely on yourself as opposed to the Gospel and I don’t mean 4 Books in the Bible as important as they are. I mean the Truth of who Christ was, What he came to accomplish and what he expects from us. If you are questioning by simply listening to this video you better consider everything you are experiencing very carefully as the more we have been given, more is expected of us. May God Grant you many years.

When you become judgmental of others, when you withhold love and kindness, when you are niggardly, hateful, jealous, covetous, envious, and so many other aspects. Keep that in mind. That is when you blaspheme the good Lord.
