Getting caught for littering and then being charged for a suspected licence always reminded me of that classic phrase: Never break the law while you're breaking the law.

Crazy how many people facing consequences somehow never got their mail, or someone never called them back. Must just be complete coincidence and nothing else…

I'm always impressed how everyone is starting a job the day after their hearing, and always sad how they just had a family member pass away...

I hate when these defendants say ‘I didn’t get anything in the mail.’ Like everyone has to run around them. They’re pathetic.

Why didn’t you call the court to find out if it was scheduled . You knew you had charges pending

Or when the judge told you you were on probation but you never heard back for two freakin' years.

I would be MORTIFIED if Judge Middleton called me back to yell at me after finding out I drove to the courthouse on a suspended license, but not this woman. She acts indignant and justified.

Her license was suspended in 2012 due to not having insurance. Let that sink in. In 12 years this woman has known she doesn't have a license and obviously no money to pay a $258 ticket. Sad!!!

I watch a lot of court cases for defendants charged with DV, Assaultive Behavior, armed robberies, DUI'S with and without crashes, using drugs, trafficking drugs, etc. IF the judges even ask defendants when setting up the defendants terms of probation (because EVERYONE gets probation so they can violate those terms and get revoked multiple tims with no consequences), the defendants very very often work unsupervised in home health care for dementia elderly or handicapped people who are bedridden OR they work for nursing homes where at night the bedridden patients are put in their beds and due to dementia and/or alzheimers and they are unable either mentally or physically to push the call button if they need help. The wing may have 1 attendant with only the very basic health care training to watch, take care of patients, and make rounds to check on those 20 patients. No supervision at night and these convicted defendants are supposed to be caring for those elderly patients or residents and be responsible for them. Anyone convicted for any type of violent or dangerous crime should NEVER be allowed to care for elderly and/or handicapped patients. It's a very very dangerous and concerning situation.

Was wondering if it’s a state thing or the judge’s discretion. Judge Boyd won’t even allow some defendants to be unsupervised around their own minor children.

I love how many defendants want the judge to hear the "extenuating circumstances" that kept them from doing what they were told to do. It doesn't change the law. Those were YOU problems that have NOW consequences.

I'll be 61 in a couple of weeks and thru life if I had an issue with my license, quite a few, or my car was broken down I peddled my backside to work. Rain, snow 95 degree temps I was peddling. 1 job was 17 miles from my home but I still rode my bike because I had bills to pay including child support which was so much more important than any bill and never missed a payment. Folks these days are so damn lazy, the weather is SO much better than when I rode, less snow and warmer winter temps and yet they still choose to drive, get caught and complain about getting fined or worse put in jail.

I'll admit that I do like seeing judges like Judge Oakley and their "zero tolorance" for any BS. However, Judge Middleton seems to have a more visible compassion that a lot of judges seem to supress. I guess they don't want to risk partiality. Makes sense, if that is the case.
