He was calling her to tell her to call his parents? I dont buy it for a second. They record the phone calls...I wonder what we would hear if the transcripts were ever brought to court
If these sympathy-hustlers gave a crap about the well-being of their children, they would not be bucking court or committing the acts that got them there in the first place. They especially wouldn't need to use them as a convenient excuse to weasel out of responsibility. Using offspring in a vain attempt to circumvent the court is just plain grimey.
You would think if you had been arrested and out on bond, you would make every attempt to make contact with the court and/or show up and show up on time.. this lady does not treat this as a priority
As to whether prosecutors "overcharge" to induce plea bargains... that depends on your definition of overcharge. Prosecutors are not allowed ethically or legally to pursue charges that exceed the probable cause presented by the evidence. Then the Courts are able to review whether there is probable cause to substantiate a particular charge (via probable cause conferences or whatever the mechanism is called in a specific jurisdiction). Then, on top of that, prosecutors are disincentivized to pursue higher charges that are harder to prove because if they lose, even if they get a guilty verdict on lesser included offenses, they look bad. Of course, all of that is completely different than a prosecutor charging a higher crime that they think the evidence supports, but morally doesn't feel correct. In that way, prosecutors overcharge all the time, depending on your point of view as to what is morally correct. #notlegaladvice
Second case: Your honor, he works with his father in construction. Your honor, his parents are very far away in New Jersey. Your honor, he’s been in Michigan for a year. So, he spent a year off the grid and lied that he had a job?
The lawyer for the guy who's alleged to have committed domestic violence seems to think that a kid's types of rationalizations make a good defense. "She opened the door …" So what? Does that mean he's not responsible for his actions? Does she have some kind of responsibility to know he's going to batter her before she opens the door? Does the law even allow an open door to lessen the charge of domestic violence? What point are you trying to make, counselor?
I tried once crying to get sympathy from the judge he laughed at me and said your not crying fot the victim you hurt, you're crying because you're going to prison, then i think he gave me more time

The first person is upset she won't be released for her child's second birthday, with that history she is a terrible example for any children she is around. Obviously she has anger issues.
thanks OSG for posting these because canadian court is so boring lol
Yeah, sadly America has got the lock on crazy people in court.
If they hadn't defunded MH in the 80s you'd have had to find a new hobby.lolol
That's what happens when you live in a smoldering heap of a country which has been reduced to a liberal and feminist hellscape!! The United States isn't quite there yet but we are on our way and hopefully conservatives will win in future elections to turn things around!!
Ways to attend your child’s birthday,
1. Don’t use cocaine
2. Don’t do crimes
3. Stay out of jail
4. If in trouble, don’t forget about court dates
Thank you!
Typical to hear parents use their children as an excuse to avoid jail. If you cared you wouldn't break the law. What a horrible role model 🤯
He’s threatened a woman ( who gives a shit whether they live together or not) he shouldn’t get bond. He’ll be straight there being violent again. WTF? That lawyer seemed to think living together and being violent towards a person is ok. It’s not!!! Iooent crimes should mean no bond.
I think every public defender needs to spend time in Judge Simpson’s court. He’s just the best.
First defendant definitely needs a wakeup call. She can't be right for her child if she can't be for herself.
"Don't bring me tears, bring me results."
"Why would you have me plead guilty". Ofcourse it is someone elses fault. I have a solution for her: Stop BREAKING THE GD LAW.
How do these defense attorneys sleep at night? A domestic violence issue at the least? Yo cant threaten a victim in front of the police. She didnt want to see him! HE pushed his way in, although WHY did she open the door? Wouldnt you think you should be trying to talk some sense into him? Bull he didnt know his parents phone number? He was calling her to tell her to call his parents? I dont buy it for a second. They record the phone calls...I wonder what we would hear if the transcripts were ever brought to court
how in the world do you forget about being cited criminally?
5:40 "Yeah..heh it's possible but, ok.."
If that woman was worried about missing her kid’s birthday, why is she using drugs. Mom of the year right there🙀
Thank you judge...awesome work!!!
the first one blames her lawyer lol. I am sure in her little mind it is her lawyers fault, the judges fault, the cops fault, everyone but her
She’ll tell her child it’s the courts fault she missed her birthday instead that it was her actions that caused her to miss her special day.
Judge Simpson is my fave. He had big deputies lol
So he calls the victim to ask her to call his parents… Why didn’t he just call his parents?
You would think if you had been arrested and out on bond, you would make every attempt to make contact with the court and/or show up and show up on time.. this lady does not treat this as a priority
He wouldn't have a $200,000 bond if he didn't straight up threaten the victim, on top of being out of state. Yeah, that's gonna be an expensive bond.
His reaction to her meltdown is one of the many reasons I adore him!
Why can’t they be sentenced on the same day they plead guilty? No trial and they admit guilt?
These idiots seem to forget that they have the right to remain silent from the minute they are arrested. 😂😂
No accountability! You are the reason why you are in jail
He works for his family in construction- but they are in New Jersey!!!
Ain't nobody's damn fault but YOURS, Ms. Lady! Judge ain't buying those tears whatsoever!
Second case: Your honor, he works with his father in construction. Your honor, his parents are very far away in New Jersey. Your honor, he’s been in Michigan for a year.
So, he spent a year off the grid and lied that he had a job?
I know the Judge sees some characters in that courtroom. 😂😂
Watching Judge Simpson trying to control his emotions is always a delight. It's great to watch him trying not to laugh.
Plural of Karen is Karens not Karen's. Keep up the good work OSG.
The first one is the sound of self created suffering.
Feel it. Accept it. Learn from it.
I tried once crying to get sympathy from the judge he laughed at me and said your not crying fot the victim you hurt, you're crying because you're going to prison, then i think he gave me more time
“It’s *_ONLY_* a domestic abuse case”?!?!? What is this guy, a dinosaur?? He obviously needs to go to mandated classes to teach him about how serious the crime is. I’m not impressed.
5:00 “.. and it’s gone.” 😂
Next case.
Driving a stolen car and being mad you ain't getting out is crazy
So, the second defendant “woks in construction with his father,” but his father is in NJ and the pendant has been in Minnesota for a year? 🤔🤔🤔
