Massive has a pretty decent selection of waveforms, and i think the basic waveforms can sound really cool, but i still think modern synths should come with the option to load in and/or draw custom waveshapes. Both Reaktor and Absynth can do this, so its not exactly a new concept. If they want to be competitive, then limitations may not be the way to go. I got so fed up with limitations that i built my own synth in Reaktor. Not anywhere near as complex and sophisticated as some of the stock synths, but i still think it sound pretty cool, and i really enjoy being able to add in anything i feel is missing - AND; being able to experiment and make my own unique sounding effects, or try to emulate effects from hardware; like the "negative flanger" from the Electribe 2. Im surprised how few people seem to bother with learning how Reaktor works, as it really is *by far* the coolest music software i know about 👾🤖👾
Loved your shit back int he day, I pretty much got out of breakbeat when DD was peaking. Breaks were going the way of EDM, and it was becoming more of a one trick pony. You guys kept it dirty, didnt you do Beggs remixes i think it was for Jetlag and Tinnitus?
Doc Holidaze no, a few of us did remix Si Begg's "The Tyranny Of Pesto", you can download the remixes on the DD website, and the original is on cd and vinyl. He totally slayed the original, wonk status 1200%.
Nice assumptions you got going on there Hugh Jones. I wasn't confused and clearly heard the tone and know what's going on, I design patches like these for my music frequently and have been doing so for years before this was even made :) You should try reading my initial comment again and then you might understand what I was getting at, dumb fuck.
Thank you so much for this video! I always wondered how electus pulled off the bass in this song -> ua-cam.com/video/7UexyWdm2fs/v-deo.html but now I know with the lfo and effects you used to automate!

yes, let's not forget about massive!
Agreed. Serum is sick and Wavetable with Live 10 is awesome but remember who was there before all that.

Great tutorial (as always from pb). Question: where did you get the handy oscilloscope from? Seems to be a Reaktor FX, but can't find it.
use melda production MOscilloscope. Its free and works well
Would be nice to hear a demo of these weird bass sounds in a song. At least for some inspiration.
Great vid thanks 👍
thanks
Is this the same Chris Carter that did breakbeat tracks back in the early 2k?
Could we be learning from the legend himself????
And tell me youre not Digital Distortions Dicrylium??
Doc Holidaze the one and only

Pretty random video. I wonder what the inspiration behind this video was? :)
Product of Environment it is meant to teach people who are interested in electronic music production on how to work with massive.

thank)))спасибо по русски)
Cyberpunk vibes
I thought everyone knew sound demos need a musical context?
Well that resulting bass sound sure was... not anything I ever want to hear again.
The bass in this song fits the same style! ua-cam.com/video/7UexyWdm2fs/v-deo.html
Another one mechanical sound... Where is a context for this bass?
D'n'B and Dubstep
Rather just play guitar.
😅😅😅
Good knowledge with the tutorial, but you sound bored! Add abit more motivation to your videos.. 🤔 definitely not motivated by you. Sorry lol
this is an amazing tutorial! thank u!!!
