We own that generation CR-V. Our 2007 has 120k miles. Last week before taking it on a long road-trip, I changed the oil to full synthetic 5W20 and changed the spark plugs with factory Densos. Took about 20 minutes to do both. While on the trip I was amazed that our average MPG increased from 24.3 MPG to 28.5 even driving it 75 MPH. I'm happy with it.

Any input? I have a 2006 Honda Crv 247k. I want to keep it!! It has an oil leak; 1/4 court low since the oil change was done 2 month time. The new CRv s in my area are 38k. I’ve had the starter and the Noc sensor replaced last year. I just put new tires on it. Sometimes the engine light comes on 😮 I’ve had the code read and was told it could be any number of things. The light went out after adding 1/4 quart of oil. I really love not having car payments and used cars w over 100k And 10 plus years old are still 16k plus

Because of your advice, a few months ago I bought a 2015 Honda Pilot with 215,000 miles on it. It has a 6 cylinder engine that's had 49 oil changes and at 200,000 miles the timing belt had been changed. It's got the highest trim package and it looks cherry. Without watching your channel I would never even have considered buying it. I love this car. It replaced a Honda CRV that was totalled by a little old lady going through a stop. And I was able to pocket $6600.00 due to the difference in value because the Pilot had so many miles on it.. Thank you Scotty.

The AC has been a problem with CRVs with every iteration. Scotty says you can’t blame Honda for the quality but at some point they can’t feign ignorance forever. They choose to buy those cheap parts knowing the life span in hopes to save a buck. Even with lawsuits they still come out in the black. Almost all models have some kind of AC recall variation.

I guess I'm just mad at myself for not considering Hondas and toyotas sooner, and my son says he loves the honda. he liked the jeep- but we were always chasing gremlins in that thing. We have a 2011 CR-V EXL that we bought new. It now has 215K and still drives like new. We did replace the aforementioned AC compressor some years ago, but other than that we've had no major problems. It's easy to work on - just stick with Honda fluids (coolant, power steering, etc.), change the oil/rotate tires on a regular basis, and don't hotrod it. We get about 27 mpg highway (front wheel drive). I expect we'll get at least 400K miles out of it. It's a fantastic, easy to drive/park, good-handling car that has a surprising amount of cargo space. I would drive it cross-country without a second thought. It's the best car we've owned in almost 40 years of marriage.

Assuming it has been properly maintained, 113k miles on a Honda is almost nothing. I had a 1992 Honda Accord that was one of the best cars I ever owned. The transmission (manual) finally went out on it at 300k miles, but the engine, A/C, dash clock, and cruise control were still working great. And the 2.2 liter four cylinder engine delivered 37 mpg highway and 34 mpg city. I replaced it in 2017 with a 2008 Honda Fit that I got for $4,000 with 120k miles, and it gives me the same gas mileage as the Accord. As Scotty says, why would I want to spend 20 or 30 thousand dollars for another car that only gets half that gas mileage and constantly breaks down? Also like Scotty says, replacing the front axles and/or struts on a Honda, if you have the right tools, is a piece of cake. I'm telling you, these cars are engineered so much better than the American models, it's not funny. You seldom have to work on them.
