We were planning to be there this year 1 week before to the race and glad we found your video with all the disasters F1 made with the strip last year. We are moving the trip to early next year. Thank you man for this video
Glad it's helpful! It's still possible to have a good time, but the strip doesn't look like the strip at all for about two months out of the year since F1 came to town.
Living in Monaco, the set up takes 2 months every year and there is not the massive grandstands like in Vegas. So I can almost guarantee the vegas locals each year there'll be at least 2 months of set up (looking at what I see on the video I guess it'll be even more). And you have to consider once the race is done there is almost an equal amount of time to dissassemble everything.
I was in Monaco during one of the F1 races and there were none of the huge grand stands blocking viewing the race. Yes the main drag along the water was blocked off for traffic but we could stand in multiple places to watch for free. I visit LV at least twice a year and won’t be going this year due to all the hyped up prices and general mess. 😢
Just returned from Vegas yesterday, and yes, there are many challenges navigating LV Blvd and Koval Ln. I usually visit in the fall months, but will be skipping the next 3. I understand there is a 3 year contract? See you in 2026!
I may be wrong but I thought it was a for sure 3 year contract but F1 is "optimistic" that they will sign a 10 year extension shortly after@@Linda90503
The Clark County Commission voted to extend the contract to 10 years, however those details have not been worked out with Liberty Media/F1 just yet. So, as of right now, it's still a 3 year contract but it will inevitably be longer.
Just wait until F1 inform Vegas officials that by "temporary structure" they ment that those structures won't be taken down for 3-10 years. Vegas has been an absolute shit show sense the Readers came to the city!
We were in Vegas in May(visiting from Scotland for my Mrs 50th Birthday) and they were already starting to dig up the strip. Saying that we still loved Vegas as it was our first visit in 17 years! I am mildly interested in F1, but it does seem a bit bizarre to do this for the next 10 years! I do understand that they will get better and more efficient each year, however it is a lot of inconvenience, none more so than for the locals. Its also something that us mere mortals wont be able to afford to see - its basically for the fatcats and big business! Saying that if someone wants to put me and the mrs up for a week in November any year, in a nice 5 star hotel on the strip, with some centre stage tickets for the VIP stand at Bellagio, not forgetting our flights from Scotland, then ok you have twisted my arm 😃😃. Take care all. It will be over soon

Hi everyone. Does anybody know if all these constructions for the race will be there on the 3rd week of December ? I am going there with my wife for the first time, and now this video makes me a little concerned. I'm staying at Wynn and taking some shows like The Sphere, O, and Mentalist. Just a 3 days trip. Any recommendations and tips? I will really appreciate.
It was in the news the other day that it could take as long as 8 weeks to take everything down, so it is highly unlikely it will be gone by the third week of December. Especially the grandstands and luxury boxes in front of Bellagio.
We arrived Monday after the race. What a disaster and mess. From everyone we talked to, it was a disaster and believe that F-1 fleeced the hell out of Vegas for what it was in for. I heard that there is a possible lawsuit gaining traction from hotels and businesses against this thing. All for something that Vegas's normal and largest clientele cant even afford to participate in. And right before a popular holiday week.
Thanks great coverage I cant imagine they will tear down those high roller suites in front of the fountains? I d bet those are a more permanent fixture at least for the 3 years of the contract. BTW bro, yellow's not your color..... just sayin lol
They can easily clear those walkways over the Strip an hour before the race and close them until after the race. I actually don't know why the netting and barricades are necessary. You simply tell tourists to pick which side of the Strip they want to choose and tell them that is the side they will have to be on until the race is over. They could have done this for all three days. The two practice days and the race day. Those sessions are only two hours each day and on race days 3 hours or so as the cars position themselves on the track and do pre-race preparations. It's a safety concern as you would have thousands of people trying to cram those walkways to get a view of the practice and actual race. Can you imagine the shoving and pushing as people try to squeeze in to get a glimpse of the cars on the course.
There are roughly a million tourists in Las Vegas on any given weekend. It’s not as “simple” as telling them they have to pick a spot and stay there for 4 hours. Thats ridiculous.
Great job it’s a mess as there last week fir the giants raiders game got food poisoning and stayed at the hospital overnight it going back anymkire fir a year got I’ll twice in 2 months
I'm sorry.... this was the biggest mistake that Vegas could have made. And I hope to God nobody shows up to that stupid race. The strip looks like... remember on back to the future 2 when they went into the future, and everything was just fkng weird and futuristic? yea like that. Bad lol
I can't see them doing this every year. But I guess it's a done deal. It's not about what's good for the tourists or The Gambler anymore it's all about what's good for Vegas and their revenue
When you come out the front doors at Bellagio you can go straight across the porte cochere to get to the upper viewing area, or you can go immediately left and follow the signs to get to the lower sidewalk. The lower sidewalk is the best view, the upper sidewalk has a few trees in the way of the view.
I certainly am glad the strip means nothing to me. I enjoy playing video poker in Henderson locals' casinos. I'd hate to be someone who must travel on the strip as part of job during the F1 fiasco.
F1 highlights the need for better mass/public transit in Vegas. The fact that cars are the only practical means for getting in and out of the airport is *crazy.*
I think Vegas has shot itself in the foot. I was excited to show my friend a nice time on her first time there. We arrived 11/6 and left 11/10 and had a terrible time for all the reasons given here, plus our hotel was a mess because of crap they were putting in for the race. All views of the strip obstructed, including from restaurants, because they wanted no one to get a “free view” of the race. We gave our drivers big tips, because it took them 3x the time to get us anywhere. In short, the strip had been uglified and was a crappy place to be. Now that it’s 115 degrees in the summer, and October - December will be messed up by the race, their real tourist season will now be January to mid-May, and maybe September. I’m trying again mid-September this year, and if it’s still too hot, I won’t bother to try again. The days are too short and it’s too cold Jan-March to enjoy walking around.
We were here the same exact time as Jordan, I have pictures of him in the Park MGM and the Wynn buffet, it is not that bad at all. Most exaggerated point by UA-camrs.
If it's really as bad as all the Vegas influencers are saying, the local authorities will be negotiating hard to improve things for next year. At the very least things will happen faster. Monaco sets up from scratch every year in a week, and a few days later you would never know there was a race. That will be the goal. The permanent infrastructure has now been built and systems that take time to develop are now in place.
What is funny, are the locals, being so hateful and arrogant in the comments. Do you know where All the revenue that makes Vegas, Vegas, comes from? Paint whatever picture you want, it does not change the absolute facts, that F1 is costing and alienating.
Vegas doesn't need F1 and F1 doesn't need Vegas. The economic impact of this race is going to be FAR less than initially projected, but of course that's not what we'll hear...
F1 fans keep saying how many people will go to Vegas because of the race- well, yeah, but lots of people go to Vegas all the time. The question is, will one weekend of race fans make up for six months of chasing regular people away?
Exactly. Don't forget how many people opted NOT to go to Vegas in November and December because they don't want to deal with the mess. The economic impact of this race will be nowhere near the $1.3 billion they initially projected. Not that anyone will ever admit that...
The q4 numbers will show that I believe, lots of cancellations I am sure…. Vegas is also a huge impulse destination for use people in CA, wonder if those numbers dropped off/ will drop off q4. @@ShowMeVegas
I just feel like the people complaining about this are people who complain about cracks in the sidewalks or dogs barking in their neighborhoods. When it is going to affect your city for 3 years and maybe up to 10 if the deal goes through, it is important to make your voice heard as early as possible. If they do end up committing to the GP long term, then they need to figure out how to significantly reduce the negative impact on locals each year. Otherwise, it will become a key political issue and all the politicians involved will find themselves voted out and the entire city becomes much less friendly and cooperative with FIA.
@@Scorpia260 yeah, I think that if it does get approved for more years, as the years go along the track and most of its elements will just stay stationary and life can go as normal around them rather than building Everything brand new each year.

Everyone knows that NASCAR is King in the US. F1 is a European thing and most people here know little about it. Open wheel racing isn't that big in America anymore. I haven't seen a USAC race televised except for the Indy 500 for a long time. If the casinos can rake in a bunch of Euros, good for them but otherwise I don't see this as anything but a big Pain for everyone else.
@mrtickleuk Really? If it isn't why is the race starting at 10pm pacific time? This time isn't for the American market, but the European and Middle Eastern markets
Unfortunately for las Vegas and visitors it's taken them more than a year to put up all this crap, it will take them probably about 6 months to get it all torn down just to have to start putting it back up again. I would not be surprised if F1 just says it's better if we just leave everything up through our contract. F1 is destroying las Vegas and Las Vegas seems to be just fine with it. The money that this is not going to bring in is not worth it to the people that have to work down there everyday. I feel so bad for las Vegas, the residents and visitors. All this F1 crap will probably keep me from visiting until the contract is over because the strip will remain this way for the next 3 years all for a one weekend race. F1 go home! Besides its to cold for your racers they are already complaining!
The only thing that will stay up is the permanent pit building and grandstands at the start/finish line. The rest is temporary and will absolutely come down. Should take about a month.
This is gonna be a boondoggle. As always, with such things, only the lawyers will profit. Day of qualifying & grandstand ticket prices & hotel room rate are plummeting. Foot traffic on the strip will be low. The little restaurants & chains that have sidewalk storefronts are not going to have many customers because the idle rich who can afford this don’t go to those kinds of places. Several shows & comedy venues have announced they will be dark for the next 3 days. As mentioned in the video, Uber/Lyft/taxi drivers will suffer because there won’t be enough people. I bet it will be revealed that Clark County will be on the hook for much more than the 40 million that is known about. The lawsuits will be epic & I give it 80/20 that the 3 year contract will be cancelled & there will be no race next year. Having said all that, I will look forward to this race being modeled in Forza.

F1 should never have gone to Vegas, for many reasons. The circuit is crap (not really a race, just a fashion parade for americans that don't understand F1). The american public has no idea the priviledge that it is for a city to host an F1 race, so they don't value it at all. Liberty Media is trying to force the american public to enjoy something that they have no clue about. As a real F1 fan, I believe this GP is ridiculous because it is not real racing and the public doens't understand the magnitude of hosting an F1 race. I would rather see races in real iconic circuits, with fans that enjoy the sport, instead of a crappy street circuit with a public that has no understanding of the sport and would rather watch a fountain show.
How many times do you think it’s necessary to say “Americans don’t understand F1”? Regardless of how many times you say it, it’s not correct. Americans don’t CARE about F1. It has nothing to do with “understanding” it. But yeah, I’ll certainly agree, F1 should never have come to Vegas. Vegas doesn’t need F1 and the entire thing has been a massive disruption to an already thriving economy. The entire endeavor has done nothing but make both F1 and those who make the decisions in Vegas look foolish.
Said almost no one at this point. It was expected to, but the impact has been significantly worse. Plus the $20million ransom F1 demanded, halfway through.
No, like the vast majority of Americans, we are not F1 fans. Will it bring in a lot of revenue? Yes. Will that revenue filter down to the average person? No. Vegas doesn’t need F1 and F1 doesn’t need Vegas. Yet here we are…
@@robertmcmillan4711 I do not. However, most of Vegas revenue, comes from those of us who DO NOT LIVE there! @@Vegas.777 For sure. There are cameras everywhere, in the cars, in the pits, all along the track, in the air. The Mission Control Central of F1 has at least 50 video screens going at once on a huge wall, and the media director switches from one to another as appropriate to entertain us viewers.
(I hope it doesn't happen, but) I wonder how crashes will be handled. I can hear them now: "Oh, we never anticipated anything like that happening..."
Same way at every street race.
Same as at any race. This comment has no point.

You are a fool if you think they won't have to repave every time they race.
I guess we're all fools then, because they WON'T have to repave every year. Some surface work will need to be done, but absolutely nothing to the extent of what they did this year.
What an absolute mess! It's completely ruined Vegas, I was hoping to come back but I feel that it's ruined it now.
How can a shit show town be "ruined"?
I was just there last week and didn't think it was that bad...
I’m going. December 11th to 16th I’m hoping it will be kinda back to normal
I’m a local, and I heard a 10-year contract was signed.
@@Linda90503OMG…..that would be horrible 😮
I may be wrong but I thought it was a for sure 3 year contract but F1 is "optimistic" that they will sign a 10 year extension shortly after@@Linda90503
Yeah my dude it 10 year contract..
The Clark County Commission voted to extend the contract to 10 years, however those details have not been worked out with Liberty Media/F1 just yet. So, as of right now, it's still a 3 year contract but it will inevitably be longer.
After the way F1 has treated the locals I hope it fails miserably.

It looks like what would happen if the Iron Giant went to Vegas and had diarrhea.
Seeing this kind of makes me glad j had to cancel my trip i had scheduled for last week(6-10 Nov). Not sure when im rescheduling
Hi, Show Me Vegas..., The F-1 race will cost millions of dollars and millions of dollars to tear down and is a total..., DISASTER ! ! The businesses on the Las Vegas Strip are lowering their prices on rooms, restaurant prices, bars, and cocktails prices, Hotels & Casinos prices, and free parking to ( lure visitors and tourists ) to Las Vegas during the F-1 race..., which is only one week away... * I hope, wish and pray that the Las Vegas residents do ( not ) have pay for all this, including the mess ! ! A lot of Las Vegas residents, including visitors and tourists are really pissed off with all of the construction and major hassle... The Las Vegas Strip is a total mess and ( NOT ) inviting... Visitors and tourists do ( NOT ) want to come to Las Vegas during the F-1 race and the mess... * It's simply ( NOT ) worth the hassle and the Las Vegas Strip is ( NOT ) attractive or inviting... How much will they remove, or leave in place after this thing is over?
Absolutely everything will be taken away, except the pit building and the beautiful smooth road surface.

We are taking a hard pass on Vegas ( the strip anyways) until they are long long gone. We typically do a November and May trip but canceled them both.
Hi Jordan, would you please tell me exactly where the little known fountain viewing spot is at Bellagio? We’ll be there next Sunday. TIA 😊
When you come out the front doors at Bellagio you can go straight across the porte cochere to get to the upper viewing area, or you can go immediately left and follow the signs to get to the lower sidewalk. The lower sidewalk is the best view, the upper sidewalk has a few trees in the way of the view.
Fme… I love Vegas, thanks for the video but after2-days we ended our Vegas trip and spent the next 8 days in Reno.
Excellent++ video! Q: In the old days didn't they adjust the cars for the track rather than the other way around? Asking for a friend. ;-)
I certainly am glad the strip means nothing to me. I enjoy playing video poker in Henderson locals' casinos. I'd hate to be someone who must travel on the strip as part of job during the F1 fiasco.
I guess my annual April trip and another far before F1 is the way to go.
F1 highlights the need for better mass/public transit in Vegas. The fact that cars are the only practical means for getting in and out of the airport is *crazy.*
Happening this week. I hope Vegas is ready!
The tourists aren't
Thanks!
Looks terrible. I bet it takes them ages to clear away
We were here the same exact time as Jordan, I have pictures of him in the Park MGM and the Wynn buffet, it is not that bad at all. Most exaggerated point by UA-camrs.
This is the weirdest comment in awhile... Hope you, umm, enjoy your pictures?
If it's really as bad as all the Vegas influencers are saying, the local authorities will be negotiating hard to improve things for next year.
At the very least things will happen faster. Monaco sets up from scratch every year in a week, and a few days later you would never know there was a race. That will be the goal. The permanent infrastructure has now been built and systems that take time to develop are now in place.
Only $1,700 for tickets
On your marks...
Get set....
GO! (away F1) 😱
Will be back for New Year’s. Hopefully won’t be as bad.
F1 sucks~ they are playing Las Vegas like a grand piano & we fell for it.
What a freaking nighmare!!!! the experience on the strip completely ruined!
Glad I am coming in January, the hell with F1
What makes you think that all the F1 apparatus will be removed by then?
OH NO! you wont be able to see a fake volcano.
I don’t know of any other state that has to shut down the whole downtown for any event.
That’s a lot of damage to how vegas feels for a one day event
I would imagine they have already shooed the homeless away. I wonder where they are placing them?
Will it be cleaned up by Christmas? I guess we'll find out after the race...
I just feel like the people complaining about this are people who complain about cracks in the sidewalks or dogs barking in their neighborhoods. I understand some of the frustration work wise and it could have been done better. But praying something fails because you can’t afford to go is crazy to me.

I haven't seen a USAC race televised except for the Indy 500 for a long time. If the casinos can rake in a bunch of Euros, good for them but otherwise I don't see this as anything but a big Pain for everyone else.
NASCAR's crap and is quickly losing popularity to F1 in the US real fast. F1 even had more American viewers than NASCAR in 2022

Let me guess. You don’t like auto racing.
Let me guess, you do?
Money talks and Vegas is about cash. It’s just so sad the goons in charge forgot that something so amazing should be trashed for the rich.
