I think part of it is trying to manifest those situations for yourself. People will flirt with you if you open the door and reach out to them, flirt with them and get to know them better. The more you do it and the more you work on that craft, the better chance you have.

That's a very good point to consider. It can be hard to remain in a friendship if your romantic feelings outweigh your mindset to put them aside. I'm a big believer in the idea that you can be friends with someone you're attracted to, as long as you can make the conscious decision to prioritize the friendship honestly and authentically with them and not as a way to get closer to them so you can try to make your move. For a lot of people, it can be hard to maintain those friendships because they read that closeness as a sign of romantic interest and end up on a rollecoaster of emotions where they feel like any hug is romantic, any smile is flirting, etc.

Who's to say whether it will work out, but the best thing you can do is to probably just move on and focus on new people. The Josh Speaks Hi sorry soo long sorry noticed it was so long after I wrote it. Well I learned a lot, but here how it went. I’m 17 years old, and I moved like 700 km (2years ago) from my last “school” where I went over 5 years, I had many friends but only few good ones. Last summer my parents left to another country and I was alone for 3 weeks, so I invited two best friends of mine, since it was long ago. And they where together before too, like boyfriend and girlfriend type thing. I was kinda their wingman and best friend at the time we went in school together. (We all used to live in the same city but I moved). But back to the point, they came and it wasn’t weird/awkward at all (since they were together before and we all 3 were best friends). And the guy friend lost all feelings for her and she was over him too. (She told me) And after like 3 days of us being in the same house watching Netflix and sleeping in the same bed every night, every now and than he would ask me on the side, if I liked her more than friend, because I used to cuttle with her often since we didn’t see each other for very long time. I told him multiple times that I don’t see her that way, and i knew for fact she won’t stay in our way. After a week the guy friend needed to go back home, (now this is important because he saw in me something I realized after, he saw that I had actually feelings for her but the time I didn’t notice it in myself/ it’s part the reason he took off so fast too) he thought that I was lying to him but the thought about me being in love with the girl never even came near my brain. So the girl stayed for like 2 more days, and the night before her train I really don’t know what happened. I started falling apart literally crying for no reason, it may sound really funny now when I think about it back, but I really caught feelings for her without even noticing it. Only the day she left (I still was 7 days alone before my parents came) it sucked so much. I was used to cuttle her everyday last 10 days, and now when she leaves the rock hits me and I realize how bad situation I am in. I stopped eating was sleeping whole day, literally depression. It took me 3 months to get my life back on track. Well it’s sucked at the time but now it’s kinda cool to look back and learn. I never knew that you can caught feelings so fast, not even realizing it. As now maybe we all 3 live 700 km apart (they in the same city but they never spoke again to each other) and I’m still good friends with them. It’s kinda hard to explain everything but I hope you understand the story, if you even manage to find this and read this 😂.

That's a very good point to consider. It can be hard to remain in a friendship if your romantic feelings outweigh your mindset to put them aside.
I'm a big believer in the idea that you can be friends with someone you're attracted to, as long as you can make the conscious decision to prioritize the friendship honestly and authentically with them and not as a way to get closer to them so you can try to make your move.
For a lot of people, it can be hard to maintain those friendships because they read that closeness as a sign of romantic interest and end up on a rollecoaster of emotions where they feel like any hug is romantic, any smile is flirting, etc.
How to tell for sure that you are being flirted with? I am in a similar situation and the girl I have got a crush on is a good friend of mine. She's a really sweet girl and is nice and friendly to pretty much everyone around her. A while back, she even said that she's like my elder sister. And then, when some time later, I wished her on Rakshabandhan (Indian festival celebrating the love between a brother and a sister), she said, "Oho. I'm being sister-zoned now." I have a really crazy scenario with a girl from work. She was in a relationship when we met. Then she broke up and we got into some serious flirting. I know this is two years old, but long story short, this girl got into a relationship in June of 2022 in which I was definitely bummed. I obviously accepted it. However, when I went to Vegas this weekend, my two best friends saw how she was acting towards me. I dont know if this is better or worse than my scenario. My best friend is in a relationship of 8 years and ive only been around for 3. Should be the end of it right? Who's to say whether it will work out, but the best thing you can do is to probably just move on and focus on new people. Hi sorry soo long sorry noticed it was so long after I wrote it.
Well I learned a lot, but here how it went.
I’m 17 years old, and I moved like 700 km (2years ago) from my last “school” where I went over 5 years, I had many friends but only few good ones.
Last summer my parents left to another country and I was alone for 3 weeks, so I invited two best friends of mine, since it was long ago. And they where together before too, like boyfriend and girlfriend type thing. I was kinda their wingman and best friend at the time we went in school together. (We all used to live in the same city but I moved). But back to the point, they came and it wasn’t weird/awkward at all (since they were together before and we all 3 were best friends). And the guy friend lost all feelings for her and she was over him too. (She told me) And after like 3 days of us being in the same house watching Netflix and sleeping in the same bed every night, every now and than he would ask me on the side, if I liked her more than friend, because I used to cuttle with her often since we didn’t see each other for very long time. I told him multiple times that I don’t see her that way, and i knew for fact she won’t stay in our way.
After a week the guy friend needed to go back home, (now this is important because he saw in me something I realized after, he saw that I had actually feelings for her but the time I didn’t notice it in myself/ it’s part the reason he took off so fast too) he thought that I was lying to him but the thought about me being in love with the girl never even came near my brain.
So the girl stayed for like 2 more days, and the night before her train I really don’t know what happened. I started falling apart literally crying for no reason, it may sound really funny now when I think about it back, but I really caught feelings for her without even noticing it. Only the day she left (I still was 7 days alone before my parents came) it sucked so much.
I was used to cuttle her everyday last 10 days, and now when she leaves the rock hits me and I realize how bad situation I am in. I stopped eating was sleeping whole day, literally depression. It took me 3 months to get my life back on track.
Well it’s sucked at the time but now it’s kinda cool to look back and learn. I never knew that you can caught feelings so fast, not even realizing it.
As now maybe we all 3 live 700 km apart (they in the same city but they never spoke again to each other) and I’m still good friends with them.
It’s kinda hard to explain everything but I hope you understand the story, if you even manage to find this and read this 😂.
