You see a heavy person at the gym, struggling to work out. However, I think it's awesome. Because they are doing something.
The worst thing is, someone not wanting to change, or saying they want to, but don't.
I will always go up to obese people I see at the gym and tell them "You're doing great!" It's already hard enough for them to get to the gym, let alone feeling insecure seeing all the fit people. Them being at the gym is something that should be highly praised and celebrated

I've noticed that about the obese people on this show. They have other people waiting on them hand and foot, they're always the center of attention in their family and can be quite bossy. If they lost the weight they would lose the attention and control they have over other people. I wonder if that's part of the reason they don't lose the weight.
James K Was one of the worst Patient in the history of the show. Everyone bent over backwards for him and in return he just whinnied and complained. I think he really got some power Trip from being in the bed.

This is an addiction like any other, selfish and delusional and until there’s a change in their own mind to change, no change will happen and it’s really sad that a parents love or children’s live just isn’t enough because u must love yourself first and it can b a huge hurdle. It's like a drug addiction. Certain foods and drugs release dopamine in your brain which makes you feel good and tells you to get more. Just how drug addiction slowly builds from "trying it" to recreational to just a little each day and then to full blown addiction, food can do the same

@Bailey Duncan Exactly that is one of the problems that they face. The saying that "old habits die hard," is the perfect way of thinking about it. It's gone on for so long that it is a very hard thing to change. They have been at it so long that they are pretty much comfortable in their own little misery.

Here's something I tell myself every time I feel self conscious at the gym and I hope y'all can remind yourself this too. even if you're the heaviest person at the gym- even if you are 500lbs at the gym. You're still doing better than someone half your weight laying at home. Why? because you made the concious decision to work out at the gym and that takes determination 💕

As far as this guy calling 911, all an operator can do is send medics for a transport to the hospital where a Dr decides if it's needed. You should UA-cam funny 911 calls and hear some of the crazy calls.

Id say morbidly obese. Fat is a bit different, as I'm considered "obese" rn by BMI standards and am literally 170lb of mostly muscle at 5'5. Generalizing is a rough thing to do as were all different, but 500-600lbs? There is no excuse for that. That's literally eating and doing NOTHING all day or having serious health issues that cause it so i agree with you on that much.

Liz Mowrey: Go online and look for "Calculate Basal Metabolism Rate for Free." Figure out how many calories you ought to be eating to weigh what you want to weigh. Also look at "Caloriecounter.com." (again, Free). Start measuring your food and figuring out how much you are actually eating. ALL the help you need is online. Also check out Scooby1961's video, "Fat Acceptance" which is a great starting place for weight loss advice. (It's only a few minutes long). Make a chart. Figure out a way to weigh yourself on a decent scale once a week (many medical clinics will let you use their calibrated scale for free). These people have to adhere to a hideously strict diet both before and after their weight loss surgery; it's not a magic procedure. They have to work hard to lose the weight, and so will you, but you can do it. Do NOT starve yourself. Eat the foods you like. As Scooby1961 said in one of his videos, "You must like SOME vegetable? Well, eat THAT." It's sensible advice. He also basically tells you to make up your own diet based on foods you will actually eat and maybe really enjoy. It's really, mostly, about calories. You can lose weight in a coma if you don't overeat for your own body. Your body uses up well over 1000 calories a day just "living." I wish you all the very best. You don't need Dr. Now. You need to find out how much you're eating now and how much you NEED to eat to get to the weight you want to be, then give it time. Figure a pound a week. That's plenty to lose. By next year you could be closer to 150 than 200!
And in case you're wondering--42 weeks, down 39 pounds. Learned a LOT about eating properly since I started. NO wild exercise regimen, NO actual starvation, at least one planned "cheat/treat meal" a week, and all kinds of things I like to eat in between. Just not so MUCH of any of them as I used to. I do weigh and measure my food. I eat only three meals a day and nothing else. I "fast" from 6 PM to 8 AM daily. "Intermittent fasting." I don't DRINK any calories at all. That's the trick--just figure out what you're actually doing, learn to feed your own body properly. Later you can focus in on whatever you feel is most important. For now, start learning. You can DO IT!

I work at a hospital. I remember seeing a woman, very big, bed ridden. The door had a note saying nobody is to bring her snacks or extra food. But she did well in eating better. Smelt awful tho. Any health disorders or problems are bad. Never enable a person. If you love them, help them get better

Of course the idiots over eating are not being forced to eat and aught to be smart enough to make they're own decisions. But they obviously aren't smart enough are they! If they were, they wouldn't be so fat that they couldn't walk. Once they become immobile they have to have caregivers. If they were caregivers provided by the state such as in a nursing home or mental hospital, there are laws to help prevent abuse. All I'm saying is that the laws should also apply to family and friends that are in a position of caretaker. The obese are acting like children and should be treated as such.
