- These are the best plant apps for plant enthusiasts! I rank my favorite free plant apps, which includes plant care apps, plant identification apps, gardening apps, and other houseplant apps for plant advice and community. Some of the planting apps I review include Planta, Vera, Florish, PlantNet, Seed to Spoon, Grow It, Garden Answers, Plant Snap, Plant ID and many more. These apps provide all sorts of plant tips for your indoor and outdoor plants and gardens. This includes plant care scheduling (such as water and fertilizer reminders), plant id from a picture to find the scientific or common name of a plant, plant databases, crowdsourced plant advice, garden tips and more. I downloaded every FREE plant app and gardening app for iPhones and tried them all until I found clear winners in several categories.

Obviously these are just my top choices based on my experience with the app but any plant app you prefer can help you track and organize your houseplants! i use planta initially but i find apps make it more difficult for me personally in my plant journey!!! i feel like it’s easier to just check soil and try to keep a schedule for when you do certain tasks... it was really helpful when i started though!! will definitely try that plant ID app you recommended ❤️❤️
Eduardo Molina Totally agree! It was my saving grace when I was a beginner but now I use them more to keep track of plant names, etc! Let me know how the id app works for you!
As I only grow orchids, I use an app called OrchidAlbum ... I don’t do watering schedules ... my orchids are in self watering which helps a lot! The rest is on a plant by plant basis ... great video! Excellent subject and thank you for doing the leg work! 🌸

I'm late to the game but will defenitely check that out. I foster orchids that belong to others, and need TLC, then give them back to their owners. Would be nice to have a self watering system.

Ah yes recently became a plant parent lol and yes it is can be overwhelming taking caring them all. I had no idea there were plant apps. This is so good to know! I made the mistake of buying a bunch of plants that were not pet safe. Planta sound great for sure. And Plantnet oh so need this! So glad I discovered your channel. Big like lady! 👍 and just subbed! Thanks for letting us know the apps. I was looking for something like this and you solve my big program, making it easier for me to recognize my plants by their proper names. It helps a lot. My favorite among them is planta.
Greg is my fave app, the watering schedule is pretty accurate and changes depending on other peoples input too which is cool. It's similar to Planta but find it easier to use.
I tried Greg and it seemed like every significant feature was hidden behind a paywall.

I love Planta! Although I do not follow their watering schedule most of the time, it's just nice to have a little profile for our plant family and know when the last time I watered a plant. And your bird of paradise looks so gorgeous!

Yeah I tend to forget plant names about 25 minutes after I’ve thrown away the label,😂.

I'm trying some now because I have too many to keep track of. Planta, PlantIn, and Greg. So far I think Greg is my favorite although not free. Planta seems nice but I don't know how accurate it is. It tells me all my plants are my patio aren't getting enough sun and they get morning direct sun and its open so its basically all windows. It also has some REALLY wonky times. Like if I listened to their schedule my plants would be a wilted over crisp. Things I waster several times a week says leave it alone for 2 weeks. But I am still going to give it a try and see which I like best. But pretty sure its going to be Greg which is new.

Great content. Needed this video ASAP! Was just thinking of looking cinto apps for plant ID and might as well plant care. So your recommendations are a great start. Manly what I need is to keep track of my by now 300 plant collection.
HousePlants Delights Ahhh it has gotten massive! Apps are a great way to keep profiles on all the scientific/common names of your plants with a photo too! Hopefully these work well for you 😊

I love Planta. I have even sent them a message to add a plant. They emailed me a few days later to let me know they had researched the plant and added it to their database.
If you have a Samsung Galaxy S21 or above you can identify plants without an app. The phone has a feature that will identify just about anything.

This was a good idea. I'm not into apps for care, but I've been using PlantNet for over a year, more so for outdoor plants, & it is very useful.
Kathi's Projects I agree, PlantNet is my favorite because I can just snap a picture of a beautiful flower I see when I’m out on a walk and it ids it for me right away!

I use blossom, since it has a free trial I registered all my plants at once and then cancelled the subscription. I can't add any new plants now but the app is very goood...

Great info , I never use app for plants but definitely handy . If I were to use it mainly to know the name of the plants and the cares . Try searching for plant watering reminder apps and see what’s available in your country! They all have a similar set up so hopefully you find something!

Could you possibly post a link to the Planta App? I live in Europe and sometimes finding apps in the euro app store is bizarre. The Results I get searing on my own don't seem to include the Planta you are recommending but a different app of the same name with way less usefulness

When you say foraging for plants... you don't mean you dig them from the wild, do you...? 😬
the free version of Planta is useless. you can't scan plants, or find out what's wrong with them.
