It's very nostalgic, it's been 10 years ago when I watched this anime, I really like the opening. the scene in the opening often changes according to eps. I also like the opening scene used at the end of the eps scene when I see all the characters living happily.
I feel like I'm one of the only people who played the game completely, THEN watched the anime and enjoyed both just as much. (Though I hate what they did with Makoto in the anime!) The anime made me cry, because it was so emotionally touching. But, so did the game. I love them both.

It sucks that the anime was so meh compared to the game it was based on, probably why they never made an S2 with the Triangulum storyline and gave it a proper dub with the RB voice cast

I love shows like this that have that sense of "We are going to survive this" personality to it. Something like "The characters are already aware of the stuff that has happened in the other episode, unlike some shows where they just mind bottle to forgot all of a sudden.
I am so glad that I saved my old playlist, love coming back and listening to stuff I was listening to in high school so nostalgic...and as far as songs go, easily holds up.

This anime, as a standalone anime, it's pretty good and I recommend everyone watches it. However, as a fan of the game, I was heavily disappointed at how the anime turned out. If you have yet to play the game, the anime will be good, however, after playing the game, you notice how the anime leaves out a lot of important plot details and character development. While I understand that 13 episodes isn't enough to fit a whole game (hell, Persona 4 was 24 episodes long and even that wasn't nearly enough). I guess my real problem with the anime is the fact that since 13 episodes aren't enough for a solid pacing, character development goes right down the shaft, not to mention that I think the final episodes were kind of bs, where they just went kill happy. All in all, it's still a pretty good anime, but it definitely could have been better (and probably longer too) Also, of all people, why Jungo?! Why Seiji Kishi, why?!?!?! ; ~ ;
DeathChaos I remember watching that anime a few years ago. It's decently entertaining, but the biggest flaw is due to the fact that it only lasted for 13 episodes (Which can be very tricky since a game's story is a lot longer) and that the characters don't have enough development since they appear for 3 to 4 episodes before getting the axe. But catchy opening, I'll say that much.
You know, one thing that both helps and hurts this anime are inclusions of elements that were cut from the game. Yamato's backstory with Alcor, Ronaldo being a cop that worked exclusively for JP's, and Hibiki using the Dragon Stream. All meant for the game, but cut, so it was put in the anime. Which is cool! But it also kind of takes away time they could have spent fleshing out the characters that were fleshed out better in the games.
I dunno, man. I friggin' LOVE the game, played it back when it came out for the DS (the original DeSu2, not this remake) and I watched the anime a few months ago. Sure, compared to what happens in the game, it's very lacking but I still can't say it's bad or anything. It's just very, VERY abridged (and some things are outright changed). I do wish it was twice as long though. Anyway, would love a DeSu3 or at the very least an anime adaptation of DeSu1.

Because there are no brakes on the Persona 4 milking train! As someone who loves Persona 4, even I think making a new anime for Golden is pushing it (easily could have been an OVA)
Devil Surivor is a series I adore for its focus on how different ideals clash and showing what people can do. The first one shows the moral ambiguity when everyone has a reason for their actions and how bad or good it can be only the anime adaptaion becoming the ‘save the world’ and ‘equality or capitalism’ choice thingy. Too short but a good introduction to the games I guess
Honestly I was surprised to find out that Devil Survivor had an anime, the spinoffs of SMT that aren't Persona are just so niche that it's weird to see an anime of it.
I think it is amusing how much of an ass they make him in the animation. He is so stubborn that he basically becomes the main villain even more so than the Septentrion and Polaris. I thought it was kind of cool how they made Hibiki and Yamato have rival demons though.
Well say what you want about the anime adaptation but it actually made me wanted to play the game AND WOW WHAT AN EXPERIENCE HOLY MOLY Also you can never go wrong with Fukase
It's not simple to adapt a game to animé format so it's better to appreciate what went well (including the music used)... By the way, what ending route you had in DS2 fam? Mine's the world reset. The survivors get back to a version of earth that's restored to a garden of eden type environment. All-nature and such. All modernity and tech.gone. Humanity starts back anew with only the survivors left.
The way I’d describe it; its good if you are watching it Standalone, but after playing the Game its based on you realize its missing so much of the character development the actual game had; plus theres an entire Story arc of Devil Survivor 2 that wasn’t adapted
