Q: What is this?
A: This is the opening for the remake of the Visual Novel made by Type-Moon last 2000.
Q: Is this related to Fate?
A: No, but they're on the same universe (Type-Moon/Nasuverse) and was written by the same author (Kinoko Nasu). Tsukihime (2000) predates Fate (2004).
Q: Is this an opening of a new anime?
A: Again, this is the opening for the VN. This isn't an anime adaptation announcement. Tsukihime does have an anime adaptation, but it was horrendous. So horrible that the fans refuse to acknowledge its existence. Thus, "There is no Tsukihime anime."
Q: When will this game be released?
A: It was released last August 26 for JP in PS4 and Switch. PC isn't included. There's still no any announcement for Western release, but given how vast TM's fanbase has become, its chances are definitely not slim. Wait and hope. Aniplex has a translation group that's only dedicated for visual novels, so there's that glimmer of hope.
Q: Why are people getting hyped over this?
A: Tsukihime was considered a legendary VN in the 2000s. It was one of the most memorable VNs of its time (if not THE most memorable VN). Its remake was originally announced last 2008, which hyped the fans. The same fans suffered waiting for the release longer than people anticipating Cyberpunk 2077 (only to end up as buggy). 12 years of waiting, so it's only natural for them to get hyped.
According to an article by Famitsu, Tsukihime Remake took over the sales ranking in JP as Rank 1 (Switch) and Rank 2 (PS4) in its 1st week of release. Over 138,000+ copies in total were sold. This is an incredibly huge success for a game release. This is only counting the physical copies, and not including the digital ones. (www.famitsu.com/news/202109/02232409.html)

So many people are saying that this is a copy of Fate, even though Fate is literally a spin-off of this...
Nope. Fate as a concept was one of the first things Nasu wrote down. Nowadays we know this first draft as Fate/prototype. One of Nasu's first written stories was the short story Angel Notes. Later he wrote the Mahoutsukai no Yoru novel (which he never published) and the Kara no Kyoukai web novel. Tsukihime itself was a rewrite of/based on the first draft of the KnK web novels, but with vampires. And after Tsukihime was released in 2000, Nasu rewrote Fate/prototype into the FSN VN we know today.

空の境界でもそうだけどufoは日常の裏側みたいな不穏な感じ得意だな。歌詞曲映像全部で緩急つけて加速して盛り上げていくかんじ好き。とくに歌詞は作品愛がぎっしり詰まってるのが伝わるわ。
HFでもそうだったけど路地裏とかホラーな感じで描くもんね。

English language speakers, we wont be able to play Tsukihime for many years but Melty Blood Type Lumina is releasing worldwide at the end of this month with an english translation. It's a fighting game but it should have an in depth awesome story mode.

We have 2 options
A. Speed run learning Japanese and get decent enough in 2 - 3 years to play it
B. Waiting 10 years to play the official translation version
If there would be a patch on PC you could use process injection and machine translation with kanji database and get a pretty good idea of what's going on.

@@ijuka we got that already. Switch emulation is so easy that we got the entire script of the visual novel and we can put it in machine translation.
there is some tutorials already out there in how to set it up.

Actually this new melty is a prequel to this VN chronologically, and it's a remake anyways so a lot of new stuff happens.
It's sad, but not at all surprising or illogical. A fighting game has MUCH less text to translate than a visual novel and is more likely to sell decently well outside of Japan (although it'll still be pretty niche)

I would literally spend 100 dollers on this if it came out in English please translate it I’ve been waiting 6 years
I highly doubt this will happen. When my group Mirrormoon approached Type-Moon to officially release what would eventually become our Fate/Stay Night English patch, the number they quoted us in early 2005 for the license was astronomical. We were offering Type-Moon a raw percentage of the sales via a Steam release and they simply wouldn't budge during our negotiations.
I am sure some fan team will rise up to the challenge, I know we did... but it will not be us.
I spend over 300 dollars for the original Visual Novel...

今までネタバレを避けてこのopだけをみて過ごしてきましたそしてようやく私も18になってプレイできました。非常に良かったです。現在アルクェイドルートのみプレイ済みですが、久しぶりにゲームの内容で心拍数が上がるのを体感出来ました。

They didn’t even give one for fate stay night or the original tsukihime. So I don’t expect an official english release from them. At this point I’m just waiting for a fan released patch. But apparently the melty blood reboot is gonna have an english translation but then again it was done by some other developer not type-moon.

No. Visual novels are too niche in the west to warrant a release most of the time. If it will be released in the future it will be only on Steam probably, so if you wanted those bonuses included in the deluxe physical edition you are screwed (unless you want to import them, but then you'll probably spend a lot of cash for something you'll probably won't play unless you can read Japanese).
I think that this might be the reason why the Melty Blood remake isn't a sequel to this game like the original but an alternate version of the visual novel: because they wanted to let western players enjoy Tsukihime's story (in a way) since the remake will never leave Japan.
@@emanuelepolloni4002 That’s so dumb, I see a ton of visual novels get Western releases every day, some even more niche than Tsukihime. It’s on Type Moon if this never gets a Western release, no one else.
@@riotkitty The only release of a Type Moon visual novel I could imagine is that of a possible remake of Fate/Stay Night, since it's their cash cow franchise. Tsukihime, while dearly beloved, isn't that known in mainstream outside of Melty Blood, who only became popular in the west due to a variety of events that happened in the 2000s: the fact that it got pirated and patched to work on western pcs during the golden age of manga and anime and the fact that the fighting community latched to it when most popular fighting game franchises were in a hiatus.
Also, most visual novels are released in the west on Steam and not consoles. PC gamers are more willing to play them, console gamers no.

シエルルート 終えました！ アルクルートももちろん面白かったですが シエルルートは中二心をくすぐらせてくれたり アルクェイドとのダイナミックな戦闘がとてもよかったです！ お気に入りのセリフなのがヴローヴ戦でのシエル先輩の「聖女の祈りを贖いに！（クレアトゥーラ・デル・シエロ）」です！
同人の方でプレイしたけど、アルクの月姫EDで満足しちゃってシエルどころか月の裏側の方もやってないままリメイクの発表を見たわ。
リメイクはソフトは発売日に買ってあるけど、コンシューマー機買う気がどうもしなくてそのままになってる。
リメイクも正直言えば絵を今の絵にしてくれれば十分って思ってたくらい、同人版で満足出来てる。
この動画が、ぼくとTYPEーMOONの出会いでした。
今年アニメ化情報あることを願ってます。マジでお願いします！！！

The actual chills I got when the beat drops and Shiki sees Arcuied for the first time, then it cuts to the vision he sees and the blood dripping near the knife.. man. How they captured the feeling of that is amazing. Hope it gets a proper anime adaptation one day I would support if they divided the routes into seasons.

でも個人的には全部アニメ化終わらして技術が一層上がった状態のアニメ化も期待してたりする
スタッフ的に型月作品を同時に2作とかは制作しないだろうから、魔法使いの夜が終わってからにはなりそう。
@@お子様梨ランチ元々ufoはスケジュールの関係で常に2～4作程は制作してるので、原神は別に関係無いかと。
