@@phantomlord5707 Why he is right? Even the best singers use some technology in the recording studios. Listen to the isolated tracks on you tube. They all have it. Even Steve Perry, Brad Delp, Paul McCartney. Autotune is terrible, but lets not pretend that these guys didnt use technology to sound better.

What kills me here is that they only have ONE MICROPHONE - imagine doing that to a group today - they'd fall on their asses! Valli actually sounds better here than on the studio recording, meaner and more snarly.

I also highly recommend watching BEYOND THE SEA. w/ Kevin Spacey telling the true story of Bobby Darin....both way before my time, and I am what you'd call a "Metalhead", but I LOVE music. These guys (The Four Seasons and Bobby Darin) were overlooked for years once they "peaked" because of the British Invasion during the 1960's & 1970's.

On this day in 1962 {December 9th} the Four Seasons performed "Big Girls Don't Cry" on the CBS-TV program 'The Ed Sullivan Show'...
Two months earlier on October 14th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart and stayed on the chart for 16 weeks...
And on this day in 1962 the song was starting its 5th and last week as the #1 record on the Top 100 {that means almost 1/3 of its time on the Top 100 was at #1}...
Also on this day their third charted record, "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town", entered the Top 100, it only remained on the chart for three weeks but did manage to peaked at #23 {such is the fate of seasonal Christmas songs}...

This is great! I remember as a little boy growing up hearing these songs on the radio and on the Jukeboxes. I grew up in the 60's and 70's and The four Seasons were always a part of it. Coincidentally I was in my car the other day and have a bunch of mixed CD's from the 60's and 70's. I had just watched Jersey Boys and thought it would be nice to hear some Four Seasons and wouldn't you know it they were on a few of the CD's I had. Just goes to show how popular they were. I had them by accident on a few CD's. Great group and really an interesting movie!

The movie was ok. There were several things to dislike about it. The fact that you don't know the timeline is one thing. Another thing is the fact that the main characters don't age, while everyone around them does.

But they do what alot of movies dont do... They actually sang the songs... they didn't Lip-sing... just like Gary Busey in "The Buddy Holly Story"
The Movie was great... its up there in my top 10 Movies.

    • @christopher399
      @christopher399 9 років тому

skylar hensley Lip-syncing is not a bad thing. They're actors. And there are a lot of movies where the actors sing themselves, not lip-sync. Don't know where you get that from.
Either way, the actors actually singing doesn't make the movie any better. It was an entertaining movie, but there was so much to pick on.
Do you agree with the points I made in my last post? If so, then you should watch more movies. If you manage to ignore those things, then that's fine as well. We're all different. I just can't ignore those things.

    • @christopher399

Actually, They were called The Four Seasons back then. Valli formed Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons as a new group in the seventies. But they are legends no matter what you call them.

I love this live version of The Four Seasons’ “Big Girls Don’t Cry” better than the original studio version. 👏👏👏👏

So handsome, clean cut, talented and polished. Who would have thought three of them were street kids, of which two were in and out of jail. The other was an unscrupulous, ambitious, business minded guy willing to break up three friendships for his personal goals.

You are talking about Frankie Valli obviously.
      Why such a bad comment?
He was the star of the group and the reason he was is because he could SING....and sing good!
I too would have wanted to go solo. The money isn't divided 4 ways and Frankie was the main reason people went to see them.
Frankie is a great live singer and I am a huge fan.

Yup! Frankie totally forgot where he was in the song beginning of the last verse but sorta recovers. That actually makes me like this clip even more.
