Good pick! The title is akin to saying, "worst case scenario, [my people still come first]", "no matter what happens,...", "whatever happens,...", or, "through thick or thin...", it's a declaration of loyalty.
I've been waiting for this, thanks for the react! Totally recommend adding Back Again, Another Sound Mission and Love and War to your list, would love to hear your react. Cheers!
The DJ does the scratching and sometimes produces the track as well, like DJ Premier for example. On the other hand, for a duo like Eric B and Rakim, Eric does the scratching, and Rakim (or other producers) makes the beat. In this case, DJ Babu handled the scratches once Alchemist made the beat.
Classic underground track. Evidence and the Alchemist are best friends. You should check out their Step Brothers project - Lord Steppington. Or even better yet check out the track they did on the new Gangrene record. Magic Dust
There's also a version that features an additional verse by Mobb Deep's Havoc which is a nice touch since since they sampled one of his lines for the chorus. And Babu is definitely one of the most famous turntablism DJs from that era. The Beat Junkies are a household name and one of the top turntablism crews on the West Coast. The sample they used is William Bell's I Forgot To Be Your Lover, a great song from the Stax Records catalog that was very popular with hip hop producers back then.
I just want to quickly correct an error that the bio you read made: it samples "Survival Of The Fittest" by Mobb Deep, not Gang Starr. RIP to both Guru and Prodigy.
saw them live in a small club in germany early 2000s. great performance, great vibes. The stage was only about hip high and after the show the lights went on and they just sat down, signed autographs, chatted, drank and smoked some weed. super layed back. still got a pack of the red Smoking rolling papers signed by Babu somewhere in a box^^
Underrated group in my estimation. Speaking on real topics, expanding minds and view points. Work with a real DJ in Babu of the World Famous Beat Junkies.
About the title, I think the more common phrase is "worse comes to worst" but it just means that something, or everything in general is really bad. When situation goes from bad to worse to as bad as possible, they're still gonna look out for their people.
Hell yeah! It's about time, I'm surprised this wasn't requested a long time ago. I read somewhere The Alchemist produced most of the album. The whole album is dope, they even have a dj song, rap groups rarely do that now." This Way" feat Kanye is good too, you might even like it better than this one.
Awesome video! I love Dilated People's! I love your channel!❤ You are the best! I have a request, could you please react to: Lyrically Exposed Part 2 by Obscure Disorder?
This is such a good track, but Work The Angles is the definitive Dilated Peoples’ song. The Worst Comes To Wordt video is a great time capsule for west coast underground hip hop at the turn of the century. They filmed a shot at the WTC days before 9/11. Lastly ABB Records stood for “Always Bigger and Better”.
So much of this song is the Alchemist and Babu. FYI…any song that is recommended to you that is produced by the Alchemist, you’re probably gonna dig it.
Dilated Peoples are an amazing group & you should check out Evidence's solo work. I would recommend the song Throw it All Away as one that I would like to see you react to.
And we need more Common and Ye, sire. It would be the greatest of honours for you to bestow we, the hip hop junkies, with your reaction 🙌 You be well, my good sir 🙌
I like this beat so much, definitely a car song! On a slightly related note, I recommend the Pack Up Remix by Lyrics Born featuring Evidence & KRS One 😎 ua-cam.com/video/aXgqn-HIysQ/v-deo.html
@ABoomerReacts 😇😁😁😁🫡 you'll be the first to react to this track as far as I know. I've searched for a reaction to this song, and it's baffling that there is not one yet on UA-cam. I'm pumped 😎
Guru's voice is probably my favorite voice in the rap genre. Even a few words are enough for him to leave a mark on a song.
Good pick! The title is akin to saying, "worst case scenario, [my people still come first]", "no matter what happens,...", "whatever happens,...", or, "through thick or thin...", it's a declaration of loyalty.
Thanks, Pete!

Thanks! It gets confusing.

Thanks for the info, Fabian!

Yeah that's a big screw up. Wikipedia for ya
OMG. I didn't even notice. I got my hip hop duos confused.
Thank you for this. They're my favourite Hip Hop group. Almost every song they've done is great

What a great story!

One of my favorites this joints a classic 🔥rip Guru
Evidence solo albums are worth diving into
Someone suggested Throw It All Away.
@@ABoomerReacts that's a good start the entire weather or not album is incredible

"This way" is not my favorite. It's kind of a pop song. You should start with their first album with songs like The Platform and Work the Angles.
@@arsenaali But Brian likes the pop sound, it's his guilty pleasure. I would say it's more of a r&b gospel type song, rather than a pop sound.
@@arsenaali Yes, Work the Angles has been a popular suggestion today.
@@auntoneyofuntease6704 Thanks for looking out for me, Auntoneyo! 😁😁

Thanks! That's a new group for my list.
I love the scratching on this cut. Its on my all-time scratching play list.
DJ Babu, right?
@@ABoomerReacts Yes

Great song!!! Dislated peeps is dope
Salute GURU

Give me a song title for each and I'll see if they're on my list.
I like this beat so much, definitely a car song!

ua-cam.com/video/aXgqn-HIysQ/v-deo.html
Thanks! I'll add it to my list. The only Lyrics Born song on my list was Callin' Out.
@@ABoomerReacts That's a good one as well, although a little bit too pop/mainstream oriented in my opinion.
Ludacris - Growing Pains (uses the same beat)
Cool! I'll check it out.
Whole album is great!!!!
Alchemist ànd Babu really carried that track.
Fact
Prodigy getting cut and scratched. I swear Inspectah Deck and Prodigy used to scratch records give me goosebumps. Dope!
Just a reminder. A reaction to Masta Killa track titled Masta Killa from the album No Said Date would be amazing.

Classic song!
Dilated is the real deal
Worst comes to worst means something like when the shit hits the fan.
Ah, that makes sense.
react to the remix, same sample but the beat is a bit pimped..
Thanks, Alex. I'll listen to it off camera instead of a reaction.
PLEASE REACT TO POOR RIGHTEOUS TEACHERS
HERE WE GO AGAIN
Thanks, Jes!
Guru!!! 😂
Excellent group and album representing L.A. ❤
