Honestly I thought about that too. But I fully don't think that Kim knew especially since she was upset at first. I think Joe thought this would be a way to make Kim happy. He probably even told her some bs about him getting custody and that she would become the mother.

for anyone who wants to know the update on the situation “UPDATE: I never considered that this could’ve happened on purpose. We used condoms because I do not react well to hormonal birth control and I had to wait to get a non-hormonal IUD because of other medical issues. The Thursday I posted this, I went to the police and they stated that there was nothing they could do because a crime hadn’t been committed. In my state orders of protection are criminal or family so I was able to get one against Joe. On Friday, I did get a lawyer and they let me know in my state there was nothing I could do as far as custody before the babies are born, so I will be leaving my state soon to ensure that this isn’t my babies home state and I can’t be charged with anything. However, someone sent this post to Kim and she came to my job, damaged my car, and broke a bunch of office windows. I work with kids so she was arrested for not just the criminal damage and trespassing but also child endangerment so hopefully that works in my favor. Also if Joe did it on purpose, I don’t think Kim knew, because she was screaming at me about how I stole her life and everything I had was supposed to be hers.
Update: I have orders of protection against both Kim and Joe. I left the state anyway and Joe and Kim started harassing me again because there’s no legal jurisdiction when you leave the state, but I have enough evidence that I was able to press charges in my current state as well and will be pursuing a restraining order here.”

I'm not sure how it works in the US but in the UK if the father isn't on the birth certificate then he has no legal rights over children. She needs to not put his name on it so he can't get rights this would stop Kim being in their lives.

That's a good point! I thought at first Kim might just prefer home births, but it would be a lot easier to steal the twins if they were born at home.

Dude that literally happened in WA and the women died but they caught the crazy chick that did it and gave her life in prison. You can look it up it was big news when it happened. The baby survived and is like 12 now
Id honestly ghost them and move far away. This was actually a disturbing situation. The kids can live without a dad thats fine because the dad is enabling her which means something deeper as well. I also wouldn't feel comfortable having those kids visit their dad with kim around them.

If she's in the states keep his name off the birth certificate and give baby her last name! Dad has zero rights since they aren't married! I'd disappear and they'd never see me or babies again 🤷🏼♀️.

You have to dissolve the parental rights in most states but that can be done with out Joes consent. I bet if she does that Joe will wonder abt the choices he made and those kids for the rest of his life.
From Michigan here, and I tried this (abusive ex) and when my son turned seven the state found him and forced him to pay child support even though I told the state that I wanted nothing to do with him. They also told him he had to pay for a new birth certificate, but I freaked out and insisted that he stay off it. The judge basically told me that he would have to “want to”. So far, he’s kept his distance. My son is almost 15. Whew! Not every woman/child is so lucky.
Keeping the name off the birth certificate is nothing. A father can easily court demand for a paternity test and claim rights as a father should be able to. You can’t just take a baby and run just because a paper isn’t signed.

Mine. I let one of my son's dad know he might be the dad. He had the nerve to ask me if he could have my baby since I already had one. Like wtf? I told him fuck no. But then he got all offended when I asked if I could have one his daughters since he had 2. At least he got the point.

@@1sTEfFaniE1 I never said that isn’t possible. Some people are wrongly diagnosed as infertile when it might be due to another issue in the organism or it could be temporary infertility. But for her it is permanent and has been around since she was 14 and due to ovarian cancer. That is why she is going for surrogacy where she wants eggs donated from a cousin so she is related to her future adoptive kid.
My aunt on my dads side was infertile and actually had the nerve to ask to one of us when my mom found out she was having twins. My grandma even tried to guilt trip her into it. SO happy me and my twin did not end up with her.

Wow. Just wow. I’m an adoptive mom of twins and was involved with the birth mom from around 3 months. I mean like texting, visits, Dr appts, etc. Never once did I take over her pregnancy. She was their mother until their birth. I can’t imagine acting like this to someone who is not adopting their children!! This is unreal!! Step mommy has real mental problems and needs to be out of the picture! Mom-you are NOT an asshole! These are YOUR children!! Protect them from this craziness!! You know what’s best for them!!

Kim has no genetic relation to these children and the biological mother of these children clearly wants nothing to do with her and do not want her to be involved in the children’s lives. The Mama vs Mommy thing is so manipulative. My daughter is 20 months old and only says Mommy occasionally. It takes a long time before children say words that are two syllables of different sounds. Mama is much easier to say and comes much earlier. You know Kim is going to lord that over her as much as she can.

Justin made a really good point about Kim possibly implanting negative messages to the kids’ heads. As a teacher’s assistant, I have seen this exact thing happen before. It’s so heartbreaking to see my student’s confused about which parent they should/shouldn’t like, unsure how they should feel, so on so forth.

As someone who went through it as a kid I completely understand it messed me up for years and I’m honestly still not ok from it my parents separated when I was 4-5 divorced at 8 and my toxic stepmom was there since 4 planting things in me same with my dad and mom about each other it finally stopped when I was older and I put a foot down but it’s truly a horrible thing to have that happen. And with this case could be much much worse.
Hell, my mother did that to me against my father. This woman sounds a lot crazier than my mother.
My friend's bf combats this by never getting involved in the drama when he has them, he just focuses on having a good time with his kids.
The effects are long lasting too- kids aren’t a fully blank slate as they have opinions and feelings but it’s easy to shape them into what you want

The mom needs to document EVERYTHING the family is saying and present it to the court. She needs full custody immediately after and the father and Kim shouldn’t be allowed to see the babies.
I say she needs to look over HIPAA Laws in her state and make not that no one can ever release medical info to the both of them, as well as have every school they attend in the future have documents on file that they are not to be taken/picked up at school by them as well. I’m concerned that they could make attempts on stealing the kids later in life.

My friend went through something super similar. At 14 she became pregant, the father was a 15 year old boy who frequently got in trouble with police for petty offenses and soon he was on probation and moved back to his home state far away from her. She was unsure about what to do about her pregancy, and eventually she waited too long to make a decision , and it was made for her. She told her family and her grandparents who raised her were supportive, but her older brothers wife was bitter and jealous. Her sister in law was unable to have a child of her own, and was so angry at her. She said to my friend , a 14 year old girl , that “it’s unfair you got pregant your first time , without even trying when you didn’t even want the baby”. Her SIL wanted her baby from the beginning. Once the baby was born my friend raised it for a while with a lot of her grandparents help. But she missed being a kid and her SIL was still harassing her , telling her to give the baby to over to her , that she was an unfit mother. Eventually my friend gave up her parental rights and her brother and SIL adopted the baby. Shortly after he brother molested her , and her grandparents told her if she went to the police she’d be kicked out. So now a predator is raising her daughter. And she can’t go to the police and it’s too late to undo the adoption. Her brother and SIL never let her see her child , except holidays , and she’s never allowed to be alone with her child. She’s also not allowed to tell her daughter that she’s her real mom. It’s heart breaking

Then about 7 years ago my ex tried to kidnap my girls, 2nd attempt, but this time he tried to go outta state. One of my girls isn't even his. There's so much more. he found where I live now and has called the cops for a "well-care check" twice in one day. I informed the cops of the situation and if he shows up they told me to call them. I live in a small town so I know everybody. To my advantage 😁 and I mean everybody. Cops, sheriff's, lawyers, judges, this is my town. Fuck with me. 😁

Kim's mom told OP that she should give Kim one of the babies, I'm sorry but but twin children are not like a litter of puppies, you don't give one away simply because you had two (I know that some people do this and it's wrong).
The women needs another man to sign the birth certificate than technically he be the babies father legally

Once there is already a legal father paternity tests don't matter :) That's why the legal father has to pay child support while the biological father usually doesn't have to in these cases because legally the biological father is not the father. The only thing that matters is what's on the B.C. I watch alot of paternity court haha

This young girl’s best bet is keeping both of them out of the hospital when the kids come. Because she is not married to Joe, fatherhood is not assumed and he cannot sign the birth certificates without her consent. Keep him away from these legal documents! He is proving to not be a safe place for your children.
Smart to move out of state. I would not put him on the birth certificate either. If she wants to establish paternity in the future she can do that but she can never go back & remove him

This reminds me a lot of my ex step mom and my biological dad. The same thing happened to my mother and they both ended up getting cut out of our lives. My mom has full custody of us but we do visit our dads side of the family every other year

As a “kinda-step parent” (or as their mom calls me “a bonus mom”) people like this are awful. My bf had an ex that tried to get his oldest to call her Mom. It’s disgusting. How are you going to claim someone else’s child(ren). I may not have kids, I don’t know if my body can handle having kids, but I love my future step-daughters. And at the end of day, I respect every boundary their parents place, because it isn’t my place to make those decisions. Nor will I ever try to.
I call my s.o's kids my kids but I also know they aren't mine. I will always know they have 2 main parents and I'm an extra parent to help raise them
She needs to move to Florida. If they aren’t married he has to take her to court IN FLORIDA to even attempt gaining rights, and with the arrest of his “fiancé” against the mother no judge would give him any rights.

If i were in her shoes my Joe would not be able to see his kids while in a relationship/contact with Kim and even if he was able to see them he wouldn’t be able to with her present. I would not put him on the birth certificate and if they tried to fight for custody I would take full and say that they weren’t his kids and leave the state.
I hear stories like this and realize I’m so lucky that I’m pregnant with a loving husband. This is insane. Kim’s behavior sounds delusional. Not to mention how your hormones can make you super sensitive in pregnancy and having to deal with the extra unnecessary stress. This reminds me of “Unsolved Mysteries” when women who have infertility problems steal other people’s babies and raise them as their own and the child doesn’t find out who their real parents are until they are much older. Kim sounds like she would do something like that.

Just had to hear the full story after watching the TikTok clip. That Kim lady needs some help. Seriously, the babies haven’t even been born yet and she has already _actively_ excluded their mother from their life. Just imagine the lengths she’ll go to once they’re born to try and completely supplant her. It’s just not a healthy environment for those kids to grow up in -being pitted against their own mother by a delusional lady who has zero notion of how out of line she is… that’s just a terrible situation all around.
I hope this girl does move away and her lawyer advices her properly. It sounds like this Kim lady has already set herself up as an unstable person with this whole harassing her at work thing and endangering children in the process. Hopefully that’ll be enough to ensure she never has contact with those children ever.
