The thing I like most about the hunting public is they don’t care what size the animal their killing is. They just have fun with friends and family. Don’t matter the size just loving the outdoors with family and friends.
The DNR in Wisconsin won’t allow spearing of Pike! Michigan an Minnesota do? It’s a Good Winter fishing fun sitting in shack in Winter here in Michigans Up! Sportsman whinen that kill all pike is a joke! Sit on Acres or even miles of water an watch a 2’x4’ hole an mite see 1-2 fish all day?
Being from Wisconsin myself....wish this something I would have gotten into. This is about as Wisconsin as it gets. Great job in capturing what it is about, the sights, the sounds, the camaraderie, and the pure excitement that the spearing tradition brings. It’s just as hallowed as gun deer season in Wisconsin history. You guys nail it with all your videos. Great job and keep it up.

My daughter speared one this year (63.8 lbs and 61.5 inches) after waiting for 5 years. I hit one, had him on for 20 seconds and then inexplicably he broke free. Again, great video, guys! I'll be watching this one before next season to fire myself up.

Love watching your guys sturgeon spearing videos. I only live 25 minutes from the lake and grew up spearing. Got one the last two years. I’d say it’s almost better then shooting a monster buck.

That was an awesome video! I've lived in WI my entire life, and the last 16 years an hour South of Lake Winnebago, but I've never gone Sturgeon spearing. Unfortunately I don't know anyone who is into it, otherwise I probably would. Looks like a great time, great comraderie, and lots of beers! Congratulations on another great video guys!
Duck hunting through a chimney staring at a blurry green tv.. 12 years with family, saw everything but a sturgeon in the hole. 2 speared after I left the shanty to mix bloodys. Lol I guess people get lucky when I leave. Uncle joined the 100lb club I think he slept with the hat that night. Lol. Funny having southerners on the ice with a fire and cooking a meal.
Been patiently waiting for the sturgeon video this year. And agian you did not disappoint. Loved all the new cameras and angles. Keep up the good work.
Per the MN spearing comment, they do not encourage the spearing of large pike on Mille Lacs as much as they encourage the harvest of sub 35s. Fun episode to watch btw boys!! Always wanted to go sturgeon spearing.
At the 25:40 mark you are jigging from a stick with no hook but it’s actually illegal. The line needs to be fixed to the shanty similar to a decoy. Was caught doing the same thing from the warden.

South Dakota does, Minnesota doesn't allow spearing on musky lakes I don't think
