      @Daxrcy I think the reason I personally don't like it is because of the whole cosplaying thing which I don't find remotely interesting or cool. To me this series just seems like an edgy loner kid with communication disability having absolutely nothing else in life other than make clothes. Idk man it's just that he has no personality other than being serious about his "work". Dropped it midway, actually only watched it because of the hype.

    • @iamlabyrinthh
      @iamlabyrinthh 2 роки тому +2

      @Daxrcy I would have to disagree on that, as the fanservice didn’t digress after the fort episode. Many people didn’t come into the anime with the wrong idea in mind. Episode 2 was solely based around Gojo measuring Marin’s anatomy and then getting flustered on and off during that one entire episode. At the start of episode 3, Gojo has a wet dream and Kitagawa speaking with a lewd tone of voice. The fanservice kept interrupting the plot when it was getting pretty good. I don’t know if we weee watching the same show, but the fanservice progressed more and more evidently than you think. Or if you’re reading the manga.

      @@franken8574 Agreed. I found it to lack value and less succinct details that were impotent to the plot. The anime itself in episode 1 didn’t seem too bad; as Kitagawa Marin seemed to have somewhat of a rationale than usual. And it really showed how mature she was (to me at least; at the time). But after that one episode, her whole character took a 180 degree turn and she started becoming less intelligent and more basic minded with no understanding of what she is doing half of the time. From what I remember vaguely, in episode 2, she was stopping down, to show Gojo the part of her cosplay she managed to make and she insist on telling him to look away without giving him any warning she was gonna change. I see that happen throughout the anime time to time. These small details makes it hard to find it humorous, as Gojo lets anything go and gets horny when he’s flustered and bashful by Marin and females. It doesn’t even make any sense to me.

      @Daxrcy First episode was good and I liked the premise of the guy doing his thing but after I found out that this guy has literally NOTHING else about his character it was sooo boring to watch. Marin was fine at the start and after like two episodes she started liking him for no reason, I wish that he wasn't her love interest so quickly. It made it boring and clichéd. It felt like watching ecchi horimiya with much less to offer.

      Look at cosplayers like Bukkitbrown, akrcos, tenli_cos, kuroosimp.cos

    Not gonna lie, the way Gojo acts around girls and gets flustered, a common trope seen in most of many harem and ecchi shows that is painful to just watch, however Dress Up Darling actually does these clichés really well, and actually kind of well executed in context of the show. You’d be surprised the amount of hot ppl who are huge weebs. Just looks at cosplayers, they are extremely attractive and very dedicated to their weeb hobbies, ie, cosplay
      There are even some anime UA-camrs who have attractive girlfriends that are huge weebs and do cosplay. It’s rlly not that rare a premise
      It’s actually what makes this show kind of realistic
      Weeb cosplay couples would find this anime extremely relatable. I found this anime relatable in some ways too. I’m a female who loves cosplay, I admire so many cosplayers and seeing the way Marin gushed and fawned over cosplay, anime characters and the cosplayers themselves was so relatable it made me want to burst in happiness. Marin isn’t shy about her body, and she can be perverted, which I found relatable. She’s a smiley person who loves to laugh. Just, almost everything about her was so relatable and so enjoyable to see on a screen it was pure euphoria for me watching this show.
      I myself am aromantic asexual (meaning no sexual/romantic attraction) so the romance part wasn’t relatable for me but was still very nice to watch, just because I can’t find ppl sexually/romantically attractive doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy seeing ppl fall in love.
      I just rlly love this show so much, the attention to detail for cosplay and marin’s own behaviour made it such a joy to watch, even fanservice most of the time makes me uncomfortable but this show was so beautifully animated and the fanservice was actually enjoyable to watch for me.

      But I finally caved and started watching it after hearing so much praise for it, and I ended up binging the entire season in a single afternoon... and enjoyed it far more than almost anything I've watched recently.
